“Why you say that?”
“Because she was unfazed by everything.”
“Well, if she does keep fucking with that man, knowing he was living a double life then she deserves everything he does to her.”
“Girl, what’s up with all these niggas I fuck with having secret families and shit? I’m starting to think I’m cursed.” I sighed
“Don’t talk like that. Smoke is a stand-up guy, I don’t think he’s on that shit,” she told me.
“He better not be, shit if I find out some shit like that about him, I’ll finally put my gun to use.”
“Nah, not your gun.” She laughed.
“Yes bitch, my gun!” I joined in on her laughter.
“Well, did you at least fix me a plate of food? A bitch is starving, shit!”
“No, but I don’t mind picking something up because I’m hungry myself. What you got a taste for?”
“Some Pollo and don’t forget the extra garlic butter.”
“Greedy ass.” I smirked.
“Me? Bitch your ass eat more than me all that weight you have gained.”
“Girl, that’s because I’m eating my rice and cabbage…. Hold on real quick, Smoke’s on my other line,” I said before clicking over.
“Hel……….”
BOOM!
I felt my car hit hard causing it to flip over three times. I tried to look up, but I couldn’t because of the airbag that deploying in my face. I tried to wiggle my body out of the position I was in, but I couldn’t since my arm was stuck between the seats. I was in so much pain and it felt like I just peed on myself.
“HELP!!!” I screamed out, hearing the beeping sounds of a truck backing up.
Instead of helping me, the person in that truck had something else in mind. Another forceful impact and my car was rolling down the hill until it entered the ditch. I could hear the car door open and close then footsteps get closer.
“Why the fuck would you hit her car again, I wanted to shoot her ass up?!” I heard a voice I knew all too well say.
What was my beef with Eyanna and why did she want me killed? Did she find out, I was the one behind her mother’s death? My mind began to race, as I prayed they didn’t follow through with her plans and shoot the car up.
“There is no point in shooting up her car now, that bitch is dead. There is no way she can survive that impact,” Tangi voice replied, confusing the fuck out of me.
The more I tried to make sense of the situation, the more my head started to ache. I was feeling sick and I started getting dizzy at the same time. I closed my eyes tightly then prayed that someone would come and save me before I died.
Chapter 20
Smoke
“We got to wrap this up, I got to go!!” I said with a sense of urgency as I busted through the double oak doors.
“What happened man?” Journi asked.
“It’s Karrueche man, I think she got into a car crash.”
“How?”
“I was on the phone with her and all of sudden I heard this loud crash and the phone disconnected. I’m trying to call her, but she isn’t answering. Man, I got a bad feeling,” I said on the verge of tears.
This shit couldn’t be happening to me. The more I tried to think positive, the worse my gut feeling got. If I lost Karrueche, I wasn’t sure if I had what it takes to survive. She was my world, my rock, my everything. She was that person that I needed to come home to from a rough day of being in the streets.
“We can continue this another time,” Josh said.
“Journi, if you want to stay and finish up, you can,” I said.
“Nah man, we are brothers. We ride together and we die together,” Journi said pulling me into a brotherly hug.
“Let’s go then,” I said as we made our way out of the building, and boarded the private jet.
The flight back home was a troubling one. I couldn’t focus on anything to save my life. Journi, put his pride to the side and called Shantika to see if she had any information on Karrueche.
“Man.” He hung up the phone with a stressed look on his face.
“Don’t say no stupid shit to me man,” I said fearing the worse.
“They just airlifted her to the hospital. She got hit by a moving truck and landed in a ditch. The driver died,” he replied.
“Is sh-e-e.”
“I don’t know yet, we just gotta go to the hospital and check for ourselves,” he said, causing my mind to think crazy thoughts.
Lord,
I know I don’t pray as much as I should, or go to church often. I I’m a sinner who kills and sells drugs for a living, but Karrueche is innocent. She says her prayers every night, goes to church, and pays her 10% tithe. She’s a good girl with a bright future ahead of her. Please, Lord, spare her for me. Please let her be okay. Lord please, I’m begging you. There is no life for me without her. In your heavenly name, I pray. Amen.
I silently prayed over and over again in my head. I finally found the true meaning behind love and I wasn’t prepared to let it go yet. I was starting to see where Journi was coming from when he realized that Shantika was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with; I felt the same way about Karrueche.
When our flight touched down, we called a cab. Since Karrueche dropped us off, I did not have a car to drive to the hospital. I made a mental note to keep a car here at all times for emergencies like this while we impatiently waited for the taxi to pull up.
Fifteen minutes later, this Arab motherfucker finally decided to pull up. If it wasn’t for Journi telling to me chill out, I would have went across that motherfucker’s head for taking so long. Journi told the Arab which hospital we were heading to and he drove off.
The Indian music he played, along with the fucked up state of mind I was in had me ready to kill a bitch for breathing my way. When we got stuck in traffic, I became a complete grouch. Journi called Shantika to check on Karrueche, but there wasn’t any new information, which only infuriated me more.
Just as we got off the busy expressway, four black Expeditions cornered us. The minute I saw the window lower and the AK slip through the window, I pulled out both my guns and started blasting. Journi pulled out his guns and started doing the same. Although we were outnumbered, we still made our sticks talk as we were determined to take out as much of those motherfuckers that we could.
“JOURNI!” I yelled, watching a bullet rip through his chest.
With my free hand, I pushed him down to the ground. I then brought up both my guns and started busting back. When my clip was empty, I dropped it and tried to reach for Journi’s guns, but was stopped when I felt hot lead rip through my shoulder blades. The burning sensation of the bullets ripping through me caused me to groan out in pain.
POW POW POW POW POW POW POW!!!
Seven more bullets tore through my flesh causing me to fly out of the back window. The impact of my head hitting the hard concrete caused me to get dizzy. The main shooter walked up to me and pointed the gun to my face; I looked back in her pretty face and didn’t think she could do something so ugly. The same bitch I kicked it with, used to slang dick on, who was supposed to be carrying my baby, was the same bitch that was about to end my life.
POW!!
Chapter 21
Geek
“Hurry up,” I yelled out to Tangi.
“I’m trying to, but this shit locked up like Fort Knox,” she replied.
We had finally found the house where Journi and Smoke kept all their drugs and money. Tangi ass was trying to pick the locks, while Eyanna was on look out. After killing both Journi and Smoke, we came straight here to get the money and drugs. We had plans on cleaning them out as much as we could and getting the hell out of Florida before the sun came up. My mother and the girls were already on a flight to Atlanta and were due to land shortly.
“Got it,” Tangi said pushing the door open.
When we walked inside, the security
alarm started going off. I never expected that Smoke would put an alarm in a house he had filled with drugs and money. Pulling out my gun, I shot it up until it finally stopped blaring noises.
We walked through, as everyone tried to locate the money, but we all came up short. The house was laid out as if someone actually lived there. Everything was decorated with beautiful, expensive furniture. I started to doubt that this was their stash house until I heard Tangi voice yelling out that she found something. I rushed into the room, she was standing in and my eyes bucked when I saw all the money she was standing in front of.
“This is not all of it!” I yelled.
“Who gives a fuck? Let’s take all this shit before the cops come running through here,” she said.
In front of us had to be about one hundred thousand dollars or a little bit over. We still had no idea where the drugs were located, making our mission a blank one. The greed in me wasn’t satisfied with the amount of money we were walking away with. With a frown painted on my face, I helped Tangi packed the money in duffle bags as we made our way out the room.
“Hello,” I answered my ringing phone.
“5-0 is out,” Eyanna said before hanging up the phone.
Instead of walking out of the front door, we used the back door and jumped the fence until we were in the neighbor’s yard, unaware of their vicious mutt.
“Ahhhh,” I yelled out when their dog bit a huge chunk out of my legs.
Raising my gun, I shot it two times before limping my way to the other side of the gate. I quickly jumped it the best way I could since one of my legs was injured due to the dog. I called Eyanna and told her where to meet us at, urging her to hurry the fuck up. As soon as she pulled up and we were getting in the car, Smoke’s neighbor came out crying over their dying dog.
When we made it to my house, I was able to breathe out a sigh of relief. With the money sprawled out all over the table, we divided the money between the three of us and were about to go our separate ways, when Draya walked in the house, scaring the fuck out of all of us.
“What the fuck happened to your leg?” She asked before running to my side.
“A dog bit me,” I replied.
“Shit,” she said walking to the bathroom to retrieve the first aid kit.
As she was cleaning and tending to my wounds, I noticed Eyanna had a scowl on her face. She was pissed off about something, but I couldn’t understand why. I mean she was about to walk away with thirty two thousand dollars. There was no reason for her to be sitting here with her face balled up. I was about to call her out on her bullshit until Draya stood up and kissed me on the lips.
“Now it’s all better, baby.” She smiled.
Lately things between us were starting to get better. When I finally let Karrueche go and focused on my wife, I fell deeply in love with her again. The fact that Karrueche died in the car crash made things that much easier. With her ass dead, I was definitely going to be able to get her out of my system. When Tangi planned the car crash, I wanted to kiss her ass for being such a genius. After the accident, we burned the original driver of the truck inside of it, to make it look like he blew up in t the crash.
“How’s my son doing?” I asked while rubbing her belly.
“Son? I’m only six weeks, for all I know it could be my third princess.” She giggled.
“Princess? Nah. That’s my boy,” I replied, kissing her belly.
“I hate to mess up y’all family moment, but we have a flight to catch in a few hours. It’s been real. Eyanna I don’t know where you’re, going but you got to get the fuck up out of here,” Tangi said.
“Really Geek? It’s like that?” Eyanna spoke up, finding her voice.
“Go on with that shit, ma,” I said once I saw where she was going with this conversation.
“What happened to all that shit you were talking about? Like us being together once we had the money?! I’m sick of you acting like this baby inside of me doesn’t exist!” She yelled out.
A few days ago, Eyanna told me she was pregnant with my baby, but I wasn’t trying to hear that shit. Yeah, I sold her some false hope, but I needed this job completed. I didn’t expect for Draya to come back home so soon before I had the chance to shake Eyanna off. If Draya’s hardheaded ass would have took her ass on that plane with my mom and our daughters this shit wouldn’t have been going on at the moment.
“Oh shit,” Tangi said taking a seat on the sofa. “One hour.” She reminded us of the amount of time we had left to hatch shit out before we had to head to the airport.
“This bitch is lying, right Geek?” Draya asked looking at me for answer.
“Yes Geek, am I lying? Tell her how we been fucking before you started fucking Karrueche. Tell her how we are still fucking around until this day! Tell her how you was screaming out how good my pussy tasted just last night!” Eyanna yelled, airing out my dirty laundry.
“Wow and I was thinking your dirty dick ass changed. Hmm well, tell her about the herpes that you contracted. I guess that stripper wasn’t enough, huh? I’m so sick and tired of your ass Geek. I thought maybe when you caught this incurable disease that you would learn to keep your dick tucked in your pants, but I guess I was wrong,” Draya said putting me to shame.
“You have herpes?” Eyanna asked in shock.
“Yup bitch and now you got it too, that’s what your ass get for messing with a married man. Maybe if you would have stopped fucking him then you would still been clean,” Draya taunted Eyanna.
“Fucking bastard,” Eyanna said before pulling out her gun.
POW!
She let off a single shot that landed directly in Draya’s chest.
“Nooooo!!!” I yelled, running towards my wife.
“How….. could….. you?” Draya asked choking on her own blood.
“Baby I’m sorry, don’t do this. Please stay with me,” I cried to no avail.
Draya’s eyes rolled in the back of her head, as the life left her body. I cried and looked for a pulse, but couldn’t find one. Sitting in my wife’s puddle of blood, I was starting to feel the consequences to my every action. Starting back to the day when I first met Karrueche. I should have left her alone, knowing that I had a wife and kids at home. I should have never got Eyanna’s phone number and started fucking with her. If I had stayed true to my vows then I wouldn’t be sitting here drenched in my wife’s blood.
POW! POW! POW! POW!
I turned around after hearing four shots go off, to see a disfigured Eyanna laying on the floor. Tangi was standing over her with a smoking gun and tears in her eyes. I didn’t know what Eyanna was thinking when she decided to shoot Draya. I mean she should have known that she wasn’t going to get away with it. She was outnumbered.
“We have to go!!” Tangi yelled while packing up all the money.
“I can’t leave her,” I cried.
“Stay here if you want to, but I’m out. This shit is too hot.”
“Fuck! Rest in peace baby, I’ll see you when it’s my time to leave this earth,” I said before kissing her on the lips.
After jumping in the shower to get the blood off my body and putting on some fresh clothes, I grabbed the money that I cleared from Tommy’s safe before we left the house. I sat back in pain as I watched Tangi set my house on fire. Watching my wife along with my unborn child burn in those flames caused tears to fall down my face. The pain I was feeling in my heart was unbearable that I thought about putting the gun in my mouth and blowing my brains out. Thinking of my daughters who needed me more than ever caused me to shake that thought out of my head.
When we arrived to the airport, Tangi knew a few people in the TSA that was willing to overlook a few things we were carrying aboard. I sat in my seat, looking at the empty next to me, where Draya was supposed to be sitting. If only she would have listened to me when I told her to leave with my mother, she would have still been alive.
What was I going to tell my daughters when t
hey asked me for their mother? How was I going to look my twins in their face and tell them that their mother was dead? I had no clue how I was going to explain everything to my twins or my mother, but I had one hour and forty-five minutes to figure it out all out.
When our flight landed in Atlanta, I felt like I had the weight of the whole world on my shoulders. We quickly claimed our bags and rented a car that we would use for a few days to get around in. The house that I bought was located in Columbus. It was a huge, two story mini mansion, with five bedrooms and five bathrooms. The huge back yard was more than enough for my kids to run around and have fun in.
On the far corner of the house was an aquatic center that I was building for Draya. She loved to swim so I was making that her own private area. It was going to be hard living in this house when everything was associated with Draya, in some way or another. When I walked in the house, my daughters greeted me.
“Daddy, where is mommy? Tamia asked.
That was the question I was dreading.
“Listen guys, you know your mother loved you so much and she wanted nothing for the best for you guys, right?” I asked, trying to hold back tears as I squatted, until I was eye level with them.
“You know how your grandma had to go work for God? He needed more workers so he called your mom to come help out,” I said explaining the death of their mother to them the best way I could.
“Mommy is dead?” Tamya asked.
“Yes,” I cried.
I held my daughters in my arms and we cried together. Little did we know that life for us was about to change. I held my daughter tightly as I comforted them the best way I could. I looked over at my mother, and she offered me a nod that meant I was all they had and it was time for me to change the way I lived life for them. I had more than enough money to start over and I planned to do just that.
Chapter 22
Shantika
I was going crazy trying to keep up with everybody. Journi, Karrueche, and Smoke were all in the hospital fighting for their lives while I was losing sleep making sure everyone was okay. Journi’s case was not that severe. He was transported to recovery not too long ago. The doctors had to perform emergency surgery on him to remove the bullet that was buried in his chest.
