“Give it up, mi’love. No use hidin’ it now...”
Wolflock’s eyes darted around quickly and he turned on his heel, racing for the hull.
Geagle looked in surprise into the room to find it completely empty.
Wolflock had long known that people were creatures of habit. In fact most creatures were creatures of habit and a drunk woman would be no different. Her hiding place for the last few months was in the hull and surely it would be still. Not caring for the noise he made, Wolflock trampled downstairs and nearly leaped down the stairs to confront Parihaan one final time.
But that final time would never come, for as he gripped onto the railings to throw himself down the stairs he saw that there was no need. For at the bottom of the stairs lay the twisted... broken... body of Parihaan. The barrel of alcohol shattered and splintered under her corpse.
Thank you so much for reading Wolflock’s fourth case. I hope you enjoyed this. For me this story is quite personal. As someone who has lived around drug addicts until my adult life, I understand that loving yourself and wanting to change helps to gain the personal power needed to overcome toxic thought patterns.
