Kate smiled at her warmly as they embraced.

"I'll see you down there," Marge said as she pulled away.

Kate watched her go, then Molly bounced in and gave her a quick squeeze before she ran out to assume her place in the processional. Above the singing of the birds, Kate heard the violins begin to play. She wanted to take a step, but felt as if she couldn't move. She remembered Marge's words and her faith was restored.

"Ready?" a man's kind voice said from behind her.

"Yes, I am," she replied with conviction as she turned to face him.

She took Eddie's arm as he supportively led her down the stairs and behind the others as they waited for the hymn to begin. It was only right that Eddie give her away; her first friend and the person who'd guided her to Red Oak.

The billowy clouds that had begun to gather were thrust aside by a strong spring sun which revealed the brilliant blue sky to all as Kate proceeded on Eddie's arm down the pathway lined with hundreds of flowers. The guests stood as they walked past, admiring the loveliness of the bride's face and soul. Tray smiled broadly as he watched her approach, more magnificent than a perfect rose, he struggled to maintain his composure.

Eddie kissed Kate's cheek as he presented her hand to Tray and moved aside. The couple stood under a large wooden trellis woven with ivy and blossoms. They lovingly gazed into each other's eyes as the minister began to speak, everyone witnessing the beginning of their life together.

And in the sunshine that beamed down upon them so gloriously from the heavens, Katherine happily watched the union of two people whose love, passion, friendship and marriage would last beyond life itself.
