The Legend of the White Werewolf
The Forgotten Ones
Book 1
Ariel, a divorced mother of two and a bestselling author, meets Blake at a bar. The two are attracted to each other and eventually come together. Ariel discovers that Blake is a werewolf and he has turned her into one as well. Blake discovers Ariel is the famous writer that has been publishing accurate werewolf romances and his council has been trying to find her for some time. When Ariel makes the change to wolf, everyone finds out that she is a white wolf, part of the legendary line thought extinct.
Prologue
They met and Juan felt like he had met his perfect mate. He didn’t feel an overwhelming passion, he felt in control. It wasn’t the all consuming passion of a soul mate, although he’d not really tested their connection. She was biddable, sweet, and a white wolf and that was all he needed. Why would he want a female that would challenge and torment him? Accepting of everything he wanted, that’s how she would be and he was pleased in one way. In the other way part of him cried out for the wild exciting life he now lived. The passionate females, the fights in bars, the reveling until the morning hours. He had his future mate on hold, living her boring innocent life in Missouri where nothing exciting ever happened while he had returned to his place at his father’s side where he was trying to drive the need for other females and the wild life from his blood. It wasn’t working and it had been over a year but quiet Amee would wait and while they had an agreement about mating, he’d never said he’d wait quietly too. There was too much life to live before he mated his mouse that was his nick name for her. Beautiful? She was, but spirited, she was not. She’d lose the first challenge unless he proclaimed her white wolf status or got her pregnant so no one could fight her. It wasn’t that the thought of teaching her about sex was repulsive; it was that once he touched his innocent would be mate, he knew his roving days were over.
She had thought he was a handsome prince come to rescue her from a life not truly lived. Over protected by her family, she’d allowed the fear of being abducted as a child stop her from doing what she wanted to do. Now that she saw how Juan intended to use her, she would break out of her shell and run as far from her comfort zone as she could. Life was meant to be lived and she was damned if she would sit in the sidelines and just watch. He may have hurt her feelings and bruised her pride, but she would thank him some day for setting her free to be what she wanted to be.
She opened the door where two hot wolves waited for her. Twins, but there were differences between them and she had discovered all of them. They knew she cared about them but wouldn’t mate them. It was still their intention to try to change her mind and she was enjoying everything they did. She pushed Juan from her mind, it would only interfere with the fun she was about to have.
Juan
Chapter 1
Innocence Lost
Another hard night of partying but a wolf wasn’t affected by the drinking, no matter how hard he tried. It wouldn’t be much longer before he would be unable to partake of the lifestyle he’d lived since he’d hit puberty and he would mourn its loss. He lay in the middle of a large bed, under a pile of females, three to be precise, and he’d bet they wouldn’t wake for hours after the way he’d wined, dined, and sixty-nined them. The thought of settling down with only one, and an innocent with no fire or imagination, made dread wash over him.
Who could blame him, except for his father who was never happy, for him taking a year to try to fuck his way through California? His memories would be all the excitement he would have for the rest of eternity. Honestly, he regretted getting Amee’s agreement to mate with him. It seemed like a fate little better than death because the wild wolf inside him would be hog tied and he was sure prying open her legs would be no easier than those of a nun.
Gently sliding a few arms and legs off his body, he smiled once he was standing where he could view the damage he had done. Every male’s dream, a buxom blonde, a vibrant brunette, and a fiery redhead. He had fulfilled all their fantasies and they would have sweet dreams of him for years to come. Tonight, he would go out and find another group of willing females. Maybe he would crash a bachelorette party and bang a few bridesmaids and a bride to be? That’s something he’d not done in months.
Searching, he found his clothes and dressed quickly. If they woke they wouldn’t want to let him go. It was his gift and his curse, the lure he held over females. Thinking about it now, it had been rather odd that Amee hadn’t seemed particularly passionate about him. That just proved the point that she was dull and boring. Once they were mated, his manly parts would atrophy and he’d forget how to use them. One more look, because he couldn’t help himself, at the pile of well satisfied females and he headed out the door. He hopped on his Harley which was parked just outside the hotel, and away he was.
The wind in his hair, the throb of the motor between his legs, and speed running in his blood as he navigated the rode at a death defying pace, reaffirming he was alive. How could he ever settle down? This was the life he was made to live. No female would ever hold his interest for long and he couldn’t imagine ever loving one. If he ever did find his soul mate, she would be as different from Amee as night was to day.
He slowed down as his turn came up. Handling his metal beast with perfect skill he was one with his bike. His wolf howled, enjoying the freedom of riding almost as much as running through the woods. Juan knew he was an adrenaline junky and that came from being a warrior rarely allowed to battle. He had to get his excitement elsewhere. Sometimes it just sucked to be the heir to the pack alpha. The responsibility weighed him down and the sacrifices seemed too much to bear. Once he stepped into the house he would be faced with his father’s disapproval as surely the sun was shining in the sky.
He pulled into the garage which someone had conveniently left open. Sucking in a deep breath and arming himself with all the strength he had to draw on, he moved to the side door and went into the house. In a moment or two, his scent would alert his father to his presence.
“Juan,” his father bellowed. The pictures on the wall shook and threatened to fall off.
It was obvious he was in a bad mood. He would probably lecture him about his wild ways and tell him he needed to claim his little mouse and settle into his responsibilities. His father wasn’t being fair since he himself had never settled down. He had several sons, all by different females and none of them his mate. Clearly Dad was potent and he hadn’t warned his lovers he was as fertile as he was. Many were human, one a witch, even a vampire but Juan was the oldest and the only one who had been born to a she-wolf.
Juan often wondered if his mother had survived if the old man would have mated her. The way his face softened and he got a faraway look when he spoke of her made Juan suspect she’d been his soul mate. Something he would never have because of his agreement with the mouse. It didn’t matter because he didn’t want soul mate. She would just try to co
ntrol him and he would be at her beck and call. Whipped was what his friends called it before they fell. Afterwards they called it love, well he had no need of that.
He stepped into his father’s office. The room was huge and there were steps that led down to his desk. The desk was a giant, larger than many dining room tables, but his dad was a giant too in either form. Juan had taken after him at nearly seven feet tall but he was lean and lanky. It caused many of their enemies to misjudge the strength held in their lean muscles.
“Juan,” his father growled. “I asked one thing of you and that was to secure a white wolf mate. I find you one that is perfect and what do you do?”
“She is secure and waiting for me to claim her. You can’t blame me for wanting to have a little fun first. She’s the dullest white wolf I’ve ever met,” he complained.
“Not any more, she’s now the most exciting woman alive according to Gossip USA, the rag mag that follows the rich and powerful celebrities,” he declared.
“You must be following someone else. Amee is a virginal nun. I’ll have to scale the walls around her sex to get inside,” he explained.
“Really? I think someone else has taken that adventure out of your hands,” he said dryly.
He spun his screen so Juan could see it. He had reset the video and it showed two people dressed in skin tight leather riding some incredible motorcycles along a narrow road, side by side. One was clearly a female and the leather showed every curve of a body that made my mouth water. Both showed a high level of skill as they negotiated the curves at a high rate of speed. They turned at the end of the road and went into a garage. They both took off their helmets and the female turned toward the camera.
It was Amee only different. Maybe she had a wild and exciting twin? She was clearly aware of the camera but she walked up to the male and poured her body over him. She pulled him down and gave him a kiss that should have lit him on fire. When she was done, she stepped back and winked at the camera before the male picked her up and threw her over his shoulder. The camera zoomed in on her laughing face and the need that the male had generated. There was no doubt what was about to happen and it was obvious to him that it had happened before.
His fist slammed down on his father’s desk with a slight sound of wood cracking. How could she do this to him? They had an agreement and she was supposed to wait patiently for him. He needed to talk to her so he could understand what was happening. She was his damn it and no one else should be touching her.
“My poor desk didn’t cause this problem, you did. I hate to say it, boy, but it looks like you’ve lost this one. Time to search out another white wolf and hopefully you’ll manage things better this time,” his dad said.
“No, she’s mine and I’m going to prove it to her. I need to go call her,” he explained and as he turned to go, he could hear his father chuckle. He’d show him when he came back with his quiet subdued mate in tow.
He hurried up to his room feeling like he was caught in a bad dream. How could things go so wrong? The female he had seen carried away by that male was one he wanted to possess. Why hadn’t he seen the potential in her and brought it out himself? Could it be he had let an inflated ego and a bit of selfishness get in his way? He’d just call her on her inappropriate behavior and tell her to get on a plane to California now. She’d come here like the dutiful female he’d planned on mating. His only worry was could he put the genie back in the bottle?
He made it to his room and closed the door. Booting his computer up, he sat in front of it thinking what he would say. He typed a simple message
How’s my mouse doing today? Anything exciting going on?-Juan
He waited for a reply.
Not much going on. Same old thing, different day. What’s up with you?-Amee
I saw something interesting on the news that surprised me.-Juan
Really? I see interesting things going on in Cali all the time.-Amee
He began to realize that she either suspected or knew what he’d been up to. He set a search with Amee’s name on the internet.
My thought is that it’s time for us to mate.-Juan
The results of his search showed she’d been out with well-known males within a month of his leaving if not sooner since it took the press a while to notice someone new. He’d have to handle things with a bit more care but she was his and she would be his mate.
I’m not ready yet. I have a lot going on right now.-Amee
Juan turned on the camera so he could look at her. She was still in bed and he saw she was between two sleeping males. He felt a jab right in the heart and he felt dizzy. She was his! Other males shouldn’t be in her bed.
I want you to get on a plane and come here now! I’m tired of this foolishness and once we’re mated there will be no other males!-Juan
If we’re mated. I’m thinking that’s so not going to happen.-Amee
It will happen and soon. You come to me right now!-Juan
You want me? Come get me…-Amee
Ready or not…-Juan
He slammed his computer screen closed anger, hurt, humiliation, and pain shooting through him. If she thought she would escape him, she had another think coming. The claim would be completed and there would be no one else for either of them. This task required some help so he called his number two. They called him Hot Rod. Jorte Rodriguez was the perfect beta. He was all alpha but had no desire to be in charge of the pack. It was too much of a headache, he’d always said. Loyalty came naturally to him and he was smart as well as hard working.
Antonio Delmonico was also one of his betas. Another alpha who had no desire to lead the pack but did like the authority of being third. He was all muscle and an incredible fighter. Security was his domain and he loved taking chances, something the pack alpha couldn’t do. He was handsome and one off the few pack mates Juan had that was blond. He had the darker skin of his father but the blue eyes of his human mother.
Juan would feel good with those two along, but he felt the need to bring one of his brothers along too. Ryker was tough and looking for a mate. Maybe he’d find one in white wolf country. That was what many alphas called the area where Ariel lived. He was in a hurry to go so he messaged all his males and the pilot of the pack’s private plane. He hastened to pack his own bag and he would call Ariel during the flight. He went to the garage to get his SUV only to find Jorte had already pulled it out front. Tony, his third was at the wheel with a shit eating grin on his face and the only one missing was Ryker.
A blur came around the corner and Ryker opened the door and jumped in beating him by a few seconds. “Take off, Tony,” he instructed.
They all knew he liked to drive but the rules for now was the first one behind the wheel drove. Once he became alpha, all that would change but he was in no hurry. There was much to learn before that day came. The job he held, second to the alpha, had more than enough responsibility. He remembered the last time he had gone to see Ariel. War had been in the air and the council had made threats against those, mostly his father, who were instigating it.
Their offer had been a chance at a white wolf mate if they made peace. The peace had been made, the chance at a mate given. He’d been the only one, as far as he knew, who’d made an agreement to mate. Due to his carelessness, that agreement was in tatters and he would need to put it back together. It wouldn’t be as easy to get her agreement now. She wasn’t the same girl he’d met a year ago. Those changes were so dramatic and unexpected that he was stunned.
He suspected at this point that she was his soul mate but even his wolf hadn’t known. Had his wolf been blinded by his human assessment of her as someone with no backbone? She had seemed so quiet and unassuming he had thought nothing would wake her spirit, but he’d been wrong. His poor treatment of her had done just that and now she didn’t want him.
Why would she when she could have two sexy, wealthy wolves instead of one? He’d never had an issue with confidence before but he hadn’t treated her well and he had an obstacle
to overcome just to get her to consider him. His man whore ways were biting him in the ass and taking a mouthful of flesh. Now that he’d lost her, he wanted her more than anything. The worst part was there was no reason for her to take him back. Those pretty boy wolves she was screwing were richer than he was and heirs to the alpha of Montana. Theirs was the only pack that ruled a state.
Restless and unable to sleep, he pulled out his notebook and tormented himself with some more pictures of Amee on dates with other males. Her transformation was revealed to him as he went back to the point where he’d left her and followed forward. It was like a wild and beautiful spirit had taken hold and pushed her to take chances remaking her into someone completely different. He couldn’t deny that this new version of Amee called to him on every level. There was no indifference in him now, but it might be too late.
The hostess on the plane handed out trays with food and drinks. She’d been on this plane for some time and she was a wolf. He’d been with her before and she was flirting with him now, but he had no interest. If he didn’t get Amee back, he wasn’t sure if he’d ever want another female again. Who would have thought it? Juan Juarez, dedicated playboy, rich partier, unrivaled Romeo, now he was just a lovesick wolf. The female gave up when he didn’t give her any attention and now she was flirting with Jose. Easy come and easy go. She was just like all those other easy conquests he’d had in his life. Amee was the only one who was genuine and he could have had it all.
What would he say to her when he finally found her? He had no idea and nothing brilliant was coming to him. If anything, guilt and a feeling that he had thrown away a precious gift he might never get back were overwhelming his brain. There had been the start of friendship and maybe something more between them at one time. If he tried hard enough, he hoped he could win her back. It was time to call Ariel and see if she would help him.
