“They were fine yesterday when I left. What the fuck is wrong with him? I don’t get it, he said he wanted to be with her,” Dom thought aloud.
“I know, but he’s fucked up now, I’m telling you. I need to find him.”
Dom grabbed Craig’s arm. “Let’s go see Skylar first, okay? She needs you here.”
Controlling his breathing, they walked back into the house towards her room. Opening the door, Dom walked in after Craig. Skylar was curled up on Alex’s lap. Dom knelt down in front of her. “Skylar,” he said.
She lifted her head towards him, “He doesn’t want me or the baby, Dom,” she whispered. “He left me.” It was breaking his heart seeing her like this. Who could do something like this to the one you love; obviously Nate could.
“I need to have a shower. Lizzy, Clint and Seth will be here soon,” she said.
Alex stood, with her still in his arms and went into the bathroom. Craig and Dom sat on the bed. “What are we going to do? She doesn’t look good.” Dom asked.
“I don’t know. I want to take her to the hospital, but I know she won’t go. Maybe we just keep a real close eye on her.”
Dom nodded. They both sat there in silence. Maybe he should go and talk to Nate himself; if Craig went, he knew there wouldn’t be any talking. Alex walked out and grabbed some clothes, then walked back into the bathroom. Skylar came out minutes later, dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, and she crawled back onto the bed and curled up.
Craig turned around to face her and he placed his hand on her leg, “Skylar, I need to go do something, will you be all right until I get back?” Skylar only nodded.
As he walked towards the door, she told him, “Craig, please don’t go and find Nate. There’s no point. He already said how he feels. You can’t change his mind about it.”
Gripping the door handle, he answered her. “Skylar, someone has to teach him a lesson on how he treats someone else. That’s his goddamn baby you’re carrying; he needs to take responsibility.”
She sat up quickly. “Violence doesn’t solve anything, Craig. Just leave it, please,” she whispered.
“You know I can’t do that, baby. I hate seeing you like this.”
“I agree with Skylar, Craig. I would love nothing more than to knock some sense into him, but she does have a point. Lizzy and Clint will be here really soon. We’ll get through today and sort something out tonight,” Dom said. “Plus, we have no idea where he is; it would be just a waste of time trying to look for him now.”
Groaning, Craig turned around and faced her. “Fine, but later tonight, I don’t care what you say. I’m going to find him. He can’t keep treating you like this, Sky.”
“I know, just let me try to enjoy the rest of the day, okay? Then you can do what you want,” she replied. “Let’s go wait in the lounge for the others.” Skylar stood and walked towards the door. She reached for Craig’s hand and squeezed, “I’m so glad you’re here. I don’t know what I would have done if you weren’t.”
“There is nowhere I’d rather be.” He wrapped his arm around her shoulders. “Let’s go open some presents.”
She grimly smiled. “That sounds like a good idea.”
Alex and Dom followed them both, wishing that this day got a lot better than what it was right now.
Chapter 35
Nate drove around for hours, he wasn’t going anywhere in particular, but he needed to leave. He couldn’t think straight after everything that happened this morning. Skylar was pregnant, with his child. Slamming his fist on the steering wheel, he yelled “Fuck.” He needed to forget everything that had happened and what was said between them. Pulling into Joey’s bar, he parked out back near the shed. Stomping through the parking lot and through the back door, he headed to the main bar. He flopped into a chair, and waited until one of the bartenders came over.
“What you after?”
“Shots. Don’t care what they are, just keep them coming,” Nate said.
“Sure.” The bartender left for a moment and was back with several bottles, placing them under the counter. He poured a double, sliding it to him. Nate picked it up and slammed it back, feeling the burn. He slapped it back on the counter, flicking his finger for another.
“Isn’t it a bit early to be drinking like this?”
“Do I tell you how to do your job?” Nate glared at him.
The bartender shook his head, “Whatever, man.” He left the bottle for him and walked away. Looking around, he noticed he wasn’t the only one in here. A couple of people lounged around.
Three-quarters through the bottle, he stood, needing to sit on something more comfortable.
As he staggered to the closest booth, with the bottle in hand, a sweet voice asked him, “Do you need some help?”
“I’m good” he said, stumbling against the wall.
“Really, you can’t even walk straight.”
He kept hearing Skylar’s voice, but he knew it wasn’t her. She wouldn’t be here with him now, after what he said to her; plus they broke up. An arm went around his waist to guide him over to the booth. Nate slouched on the chair. He looked over towards who helped him. She had long blond hair, blue eyes, large breasts under the tight black top she was wearing, and tight black jeans showing off her figure.
“Nate,” he pushed his hand out, placing hers in his.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Angela.”
Nodding, he reached for the bottle and took a swig. Nate passed the bottle to her, offering her a drink.
“What’s the occasion?” she purred into his ear.
“I just split up with my girl,” he said, shaking his head.
Grabbing the bottle from him, she whispered, “What a shame; her loss.” He needed to get his mind off Skylar; get her out of his system completely. Reaching over and grabbing her hand, he asked her, “Do you want to get out of here?”
Looking up, she smiled. “Sure. Just let me grab my bag.” She jumped up and walked over to the bar, talking to the bartender first, then walked down the hall.
“What are you doing here, Nate?” He looked up and saw Joey standing at his table.
“I’m not, I’m leaving now.”
“Where’s Skylar?”
Before he could answer, Angela came back. “Ready?” she asked, looking at him.
Nate wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer to him. “What are you doing?” Joey snapped at him.
“Nothing that concerns you.” Nate turned his back, and walked down the hall to the back lot.
Grabbing his keys, he passed them to her, “You drive. I’ll tell you where to go.”
Nodding, she jumped in, and started the truck. Nate hopped in. As they reversed out, he saw Joey at the back door on his phone. He had a feeling who was on the other end, but didn’t give a shit right now.

After Lizzy, Clint, and Seth left, Skylar collapsed on the couch. At least she held it together while they were there. Clint had picked up that something was wrong, but didn’t ask. She had asked Alex to grab all of Nate’s things from her room; she couldn’t bring herself to do it. Slowly standing, she bent over and grabbed his other presents from under the tree, placing them in a bag along with the pregnancy test in the box. She walked over to her bag and pulled out the ultrasound picture she got from the last visit.
Fighting back the tears, she placed it in the box with the test and dropped it in the bag. Maybe she should go away for a little while, stay at Chantal’s or Lizzy’s place. She wouldn’t be able to stay here, this close to Nate. She didn’t know what to do right now. Walking back into her room, she sat down on the end of the bed.
“How you feeling, Sky?” Dom walked in and sat beside her, rubbing her leg.
“I don’t know,” she whispered. They sat there in silence, for what felt like forever. Dom’s phone started ringing, breaking the silence. Reaching in his pocket he pulled it out and answered.
“Hello,” he said.
She couldn’t hear who w
as on the other end, only what he was saying. “When was that?” He frowned. “It’s a long story, I’ll fill you in.” He hung up, “I need to talk to Alex and Craig, you stay right here.” Skylar nodded. Dom left her on the bed, alone; something she was getting used to now.

Dom walked into the kitchen where Alex and Craig sat.
“How is she?” Craig asked.
“Not good,” Dom replied.
He slid on a chair beside Alex. “I got a phone call from Joey.” He rubbed his hand over his face; this wasn’t going to go well.
“What did he have to say?” Alex asked.
He sighed, “Nate was there.”
“How long ago was that? Is he still there?” Craig asked him.
“Apparently he was there for a good hour drinking shots, from what the bartender told him.”
Craig stood, “Well, we should go down there and sort this shit out with him,” he growled.
“It gets better,” Dom said.
Craig crossed his arms over his chest, waiting for him to go on.
“He left half an hour ago, with some girl.”
“What?” Alex said.
“Yeah, some new bartender Joey just hired last month, but he’s not keeping her on. She can’t handle the pressure, and especially after today,” he said.
“Where would he go? Maybe he knew the girl,” Alex said.
Dom snorted. “Nate knows a lot of girls, Alex. He has more fuck buddy girls than he has girls as friends. That’s just the way he is. As to where he would go, I have no idea. He could have gone anywhere.”
Craig walked into the kitchen, grabbed three beers and popped the tops off them, throwing them in the sink. He looked out the window and turned back around. He frowned as he faced the window again and noticed Nate’s truck out back. Heading back into the lounge as he took a swig of his beer, he passed the other two out.
“I know where he is,” Craig said with a smile.
Both Dom and Alex looked at him, waiting for his answer. As he pointed his head towards the kitchen he said, “He’s back home. The truck is parked out back, but no other car is there.”
“Well, what the hell are we waiting for then, let’s go,” Alex said as he stood and headed for the back door.
Dom and Craig followed. “Alex, I think you should stay here with Skylar. I don’t want her here by herself.”
He frowned. “Why do I miss out on all the fun?”
“I’m sure there will be plenty here,” Craig answered him with a smirk.
“Whatever, just make sure you give him one for me,” he said, walking towards Skylar’s room.
Slapping Dom on his back, Craig let out a deep sigh. “Let’s go. I really doubt there will be much talking, but if there is I’d love to know the reason for all this shit.”
“I’m with you on that,” Dom replied.
Both walking out, and towards Nate’s house. Craig was ready for anything. He would do anything for Skylar, she was his baby sister and no one hurts her in any bloody way.
* * *
Nate watched as Angela drove his truck. She did pretty well, he thought. He never let any female drive his truck, but at this moment he did. He put a lot of time and money into it. It was his pride and joy, his baby. As soon as he thought that, his mind went straight to Skylar. She was carrying his baby, goddamn it.
“Pull up in that driveway out back.” He pointed to his house. Angela nodded, doing what he asked. Once she parked, he got out and stumbled to her side. Shaking her head, she wrapped her arm around his waist, and walked to the back door. He showed her which key opens the door and waited, following her inside.
“Do you want something to drink,” he asked, walking to his fridge.
“No. I’m sure you really don’t need anything else to drink either,” she laughed.
Leaning against the wall, he stared at her. “Well, what would you like to do then?”
“I could think of something,” she said.
“Yeah,” he replied.
Angela walked over towards him, swaying her hips and smiling seductively. Standing in front of him, she placed both her hands on his chest and rubbed up and down, slowly. Leaning forward, she whispered, “I think you have too many clothes on.” Undoing the buttons, she pushed the shirt off his shoulders and threw it across the room.
Pulling her shirt over her head, Nate ran his hand down her chest to play with her nipple through her bra, causing her to moan at the contact. Pushing against his chest, she shimmied out of her jeans, standing there in front of him in a red lace bra and thong.
“Where’s the bedroom?” she purred.
Not giving her an answer, he picked her up over his shoulder and walked down the hall towards it.
* * *
Dom pushed open the door and walked in. He could hear noises coming from Nate’s room. Looking around he noticed clothes thrown over the floor, and pointed, showing Craig. Shaking his head, he pointed down the hall. Craig nodded as they walked that way. The closer they got, the louder the noise. Pushing the door open, both Craig and Dom stood there, stunned. Some hot blond was riding him. Nate’s hands were on her hips, lifting her up and down on him.
“Well, you don’t take long at moving to the next girl, do ya?” Craig growled.
The girl screamed, covering her breasts.
“What are you doing, Nate?” Dom asked.
“What the hell does it look like to you? Get the fuck out of my house, now,” he grunted.
Dom walked over near the bed. “You need to get out,” Dom told the girl.
Frowning, she asked, “Excuse me, who the hell do you think you are?”
“You’ve got to the count of five to get out. I don’t hurt women, but I will throw you out if I have to,” Dom snarled at her.
Moving quickly off Nate, she grabbed what clothes she had in the room, and ran out. Seconds later they heard the door slam out back. Craig stood near the door, not moving. “So are you going to explain why the fuck you’re with that chick when you were with Skylar just this morning?” Craig held in his temper; he was only doing it for Skylar, but it was goddamn hard to do after seeing that.
Nate walked into the bathroom, cleaned up, and pulled on a pair of jeans. Walking out, he knew he wasn’t leaving his room, especially seeing the way Craig was standing near the door. He could take on Dom, but he was really unsure about Craig. “We broke up this morning,” he said.
“So, that’s all right to move on to the next victim, hours later?” Craig’s tempered flared.
“What do you care what I do?” Nate replied.
Craig walked closer to Nate. “I care, especially when you hurt Skylar. And you did a really good job of that already today.”
Dom stood and moved in between both of them. Shaking his head, Nate made a move towards the door, but Dom stopped him. “I don’t have to explain shit to you, Craig,” he said.
“You’re right. But you do to Skylar,” Dom said to him.
Clenching and unclenching his fists, Craig yelled, “I’m not even bothering to waste my time or breath on you; you don’t deserve it! I want all Skylar’s stuff that she has left here!”
Nate stomped over, reached for a bag, and threw in all he had in the room. As he walked to the door, Craig moved out of his way, and he went and grabbed the rest of it. Throwing the bag at Craig, he growled, “It’s all in there.”
“Good.” Craig walked to the door and held it open.
“I’ll let you know when you can grab your stuff.” He walked out, leaving Dom with him.
“So you’re on her side for this?” Nate asked.
“Did you really expect me to be on yours?” Dom looked stunned that he would ever think that.
“She’s pregnant.”
“I know. What’s the problem with that? You said you wanted to have a family with her.”
“I can’t do it. I’m not ready for a child in my life just yet.”
“Are you fucking crazy?” Dom yelled. “That
s wrong, Nate, and you know it.” Dom walked out and headed for the door.
“Why can’t anyone understand that I don’t want that child she is carrying?” he shouted, stomping after him.
“Whatever, I’ll let you know when you can come over and grab your stuff from her place. Probably in a couple of days would be best. I’ll talk to Craig and get him to get her out of the house for you.”
