Mackenzie’s body opened up for him. She could feel the pressure of his two thick fingers as he stretched and slowly slid inside her ass. Combined with the feel of his cock in her pussy she felt herself climbing closer to ecstasy. The overwhelming feeling of fullness had her reaching that peak but before she could go over he removed himself. When she heard the squirt of the lubricant bottle her muscles clenched in excitement and anticipation, but when his tip nudged at her back entrance her body automatically froze, her muscles contracting against the intrusion.
“Relax, papillon,” Nate whispered, while nudging inside a little. Mackenzie did her best to relax but her body reacted against her regardless.
He pushed on and her muscles betrayed her again. Nate’s fingers came around her body to slowly circle her clit and she relaxed a bit. He nudged forward again, slowly, allowing her to adjust to him.
The sensation was overwhelming. It didn’t feel right, yet it didn’t feel wrong either. The constant pressure eased a little more with each movement until eventually, finally, her muscles relaxed as she concentrated more on what Nate was doing with his fingers.
He felt the tension leaving her body as she panted with pleasure and before he knew it she was thrusting back on his cock. He was so glad that it was still daytime because he could see every part of her so clearly. She threw her head back on a loud gasp, her dark hair splayed out against the perfect white skin of her back. He looked down to where their bodies were joined and mesmerizingly watched himself sliding out and back into her again.
“Fuck Mackenzie!”
“Nate … so good …”
He continued playing with her clit while he fucked her ass, until he felt her climax. Her muscles clenched so tight on him before her thighs began to tremble against his own. He felt his own orgasm coming and pulled from her body. He moaned with pleasure and watched his semen jet across her ass and lower back before squeezing his eyes shut in pure ecstatic bliss.
His hands ran down her body, rinsing off the last of the soap as the water cascaded over them. It was comforting to stand in the shower with Nate. They were taking care of one another, washing each other’s bodies. It felt like an intimate reconnection. She looked into his deep, dark eyes while his hands roamed her body. It wasn’t sexual, it was gentle and loving, and it made her heart swell.
“I love you Nate,” she whispered, before leaning up to kiss him. He kissed her back. And that’s how they stood for at least ten minutes, their arms wrapped around each other, making out in the shower. Until Nate’s stomach growled, interrupting them. Mackenzie giggled against his mouth before taking a step back.
“Are you hungry?” he asked.
“Starved,” she replied.
“I’m so glad you’re here,” Nate said as he poured Mackenzie a glass of white wine.
“Me too.” They were seated in the dining room awaiting their dinner. “Do you always eat in here?” Mackenzie asked, taking in the extravagant room around her.
“Often. It is a beautiful room.”
Mackenzie nodded before taking a sip of the crisp cool liquid. She had been to the mansion on a few occasions now but this was the first time she’d asked the question. Each time they had visited they had eaten in this room but it was overly large and opulent and, now that she was going to live here, she wondered what other options were available, less formal ones. Nate spoke as if he could read her thoughts.
“It’s lovely to sit on the back porch on a warm summer’s night and there’s also a small dining area off the side of the kitchen. I’ll show you after dinner if you like.” Mackenzie nodded before taking another sip of her drink. “You really need to see the whole estate now that you live here. I’ll take you on a tour of the grounds tomorrow, too.”
When she didn’t answer he took hold of her hand.
“Something wrong?” he asked with concern.
“It’s just … it will take a bit of getting used to.” She swept her arm indicating to the room around them. “You know what I mean, you’ve stayed in my apartment.”
He tried to understand her apprehension, but truth be known, he’d nearly always lived like this. Yes, his house is what most would call over the top, a mansion, but to him it was home. Just like the large home he grew up in. Though he’d never before resided here full time, he’d always planned on it. He knew now he’d been waiting on Mackenzie, the place was too empty without her.
“It’s a bit bigger than your apartment, that’s true.”
“Ah, it’s about the size of ten of my childhood homes.” She laughed. “Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would live in a place like this.” She squeezed his hand and smiled.
He lifted their joined hands to place a kiss on the back of hers. “You’re amazing.”
“What? Why?” Mackenzie asked, scrunching her face with confusion.
“You just ...” He let go of her hand to allow Hilda to place two plates of food on the table in front of them.
“Thanks Hilda.” Mackenzie smiled at the woman; the smile that always stole Nate’s breath. Once Hilda had left the room she focused back on Nate. “You were saying? Something about me being amazing?” she asked with a sparkle in her eyes.
“You don’t expect anything from anyone and are always grateful for what you have.”
“When you have parents like I do you’re left with little choice.” Mackenzie was emotionless when she spoke and it tore at Nate’s heart. The fact that she didn’t hold any anger or resentment towards them made her even more amazing to him. “I know how to take care of myself.”
“That’s why you have a hard time letting people close. I get that now. But you need to understand that I’m here to take care of you, Mack.” He took hold of her hand again. “You’re not alone. You have me now. You also have my family.”
“I know.” A small tear escaped her eye. “Thank you.” She squeezed his hand before pulling back and shaking her head. “Tom was amazing for me today, helping me pack and get to you. He stopped by my apartment because he was worried about me … and I-” her voice broke, “I’ve never had that.”
“You do now. Tom is … well, you can have him.” He laughed. “My parents will love you, too, I know it. But you also have Andrea and Alex, we’re all your family now.”
“You’re right, I kind of do. I thought you had a problem with Alex though? The other day you insinuated-”
“I was jealous of the relationship you have with him.”
“Nate, I would never cheat on you. I don’t even see Alex like that. And he doesn’t see me that way either, you can trust him.”
“I know. I trust you, Mackenzie. I didn’t mean it like that. I know you don’t see Alex as more than a brother-type person.”
Brother-type? Mackenzie hadn’t really thought about it like that, but she supposed Nate was right. If she’d had a brother she imagined he would be just like Alex. The thought made her smile, I do have family.
“You have this easiness with him in a way that you don’t have with me,” Nate continued. “There’s something special between you both. You’re relaxed with him. There’s no conflict between the two of you and we always fight.”
“True.”
“I was jealous when I thought you went running to talk to him instead of me.”
“I didn’t. Not that you left me much of a choice. I couldn’t speak to you that day because you didn’t answer the phone. Remember?” Mackenzie found herself getting angry at the recollection.
“I’m not going to keep apologizing for that.”
“Just like I’m not going to keep apologizing for taking time to figure things out. This week apart was hard Nate, but I think it was necessary.”
“Necessary?” She could see he was getting frustrated, but she felt her own anger dissipate.
“See? We fight because we feel so passionately. There’s a fire and heat between us. That’s a good thing. In a way, I love fighting with you.”
“You do?”
“Yes. It ignite
s flames between us.”
“And leads to the best sex,” Nate finished her train of thought. “So it’s not just me? You feel it too? I often thought it could be what destroyed us Mackenzie. I thought perhaps you would want something more stable, someone more like Alex.”
“You drive me crazy. I like crazy.”
“Me too.”
“And as far a stability goes, I guess that’s up to you.”
“How so?”
“If you can truly accept that I don’t want to get married.”
“For now, I can. But I won’t give up on you Mackenzie, it’s not in my nature.”
She opened her mouth to object but he spoke over the top of her.
“Your dinner’s getting cold.” He gave her a smirk then picked up his cutlery and dug into the food in front of him, effectively closing the subject.
“I will never tire of this view!” Mackenzie said as Nate came to stand beside her.
“Neither will I.”
Mackenzie turned to see Nate looking at her and not the vista in front of them. She smiled contentedly before turning back to look toward the water. They stood on the back deck beside the ledge where the pool ended. It was a clear, sunny Sunday afternoon and the view was spectacular. Green gardens and Lake Michigan as far as the eye could see. It was hard to imagine the bustling city streets that were only half an hour away when she stood in this beautiful oasis.
“How much land is there?” she asked, looking down at the expanse of trees below them that led to the water. “Glad I’m not afraid of heights.”
“It’s not all mine. I only have five acres. And it’s mainly unusable due to the steepness.”
“Don’t downplay this place, Nate, it’s incredible. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
“Marry me and it’s all yours.” He saw Mackenzie instantly stiffen and he couldn’t stop himself from chuckling. He took hold of her hand and pulled her toward a nearby lounger.
She reluctantly went, allowing him to pull her down to sit between his legs, her back pressed to his chest. “Nate-”
“Mackenzie.” He pressed his mouth to her neck. Soft, tender movements against her skin. A distraction. When she tilted her head for him and sighed softly, he knew it was working.
He chuckled quietly into her neck.
“That’s not fair,” she complained. “You can’t kiss me like that and just get me to submit.”
“Oh, but I can.” He could see the edge of her mouth was upturned and he could hear the smile in her voice. He slid his hand over her shoulder and dipped it inside her shirt. He kissed her again, darting his tongue out to lick toward her ear. “I told you I have no boundaries and I also said I wasn’t giving up.” He nipped her ear lobe and palmed her breast from inside her bra. “You may not say yes today, you may not say yes tomorrow, but one day you will.”
Mackenzie felt her heart skip a beat, her body warming instantly. She tried to convince herself that it was because of the desire he was igniting with his tongue on her neck, and his hand on her breast. Deep down though, she couldn’t deny his words were partly to blame. She couldn’t ignore his ability to sway her either. And damn if his determination isn’t as sexy as hell. With one hand still fondling her breast and the other wrapped tightly around her waist, he pulled her backwards until her ass was pressed hard against his erection. She gasped.
“Are you sore?” he worried.
“No.” She shook her head slightly then ground her ass against his shaft to prove her point. He groaned and squeezed her thigh, moving his hips under her while he returned his lips to her neck, biting, licking, kissing, sucking … sending her into a frenzy. “Nate …” His hand slid inside the top of her pants and he teased her lower belly, running his fingers back and forth along the edge of her underwear. She lifted her face toward the sun, closing her eyes with pleasure. He continued to tease her over and over, never letting his hand venture past the fabric of her underwear. “Nate please.”
“What?”
“You know what. Stop teasing me.”
His answer was to enter her panties, pushing his finger to her, rubbing it up and down, teasing her clit, stroking her but not entering. It wasn’t enough. Mackenzie squirmed against him, trying to get more of him but he held back.
“Nate …”
“You’re so wet,” he whispered, sliding his fingers along her slit.
“Please …”
“I love when you beg.”
She lost herself to the pleasure. Nate’s hard body pressed to her back, the warm sun on her face and his fingers … oh fuck, his fingers.
She moaned and pressed her ass against his cock before bucking her hips toward his hand. She was trying for more contact. He could tell she was close to the edge. He withdrew his hand and gently pushed her away.
“Stand up,” he said huskily.
Mackenzie’s insides clenched as she stood before him. The anticipation of his next instruction had her heart beating wildly, so disappointment overcame her when he stood too.
“I promised you a walk.”
“Walk?”
“Yes,” he took hold of her hand, “to show you the garden.”
She yanked her hand from his. “But …”
“Yes Mackenzie?” He gave her a knowing smirk. One she wanted to wipe right of his face.
“You expect me to walk? You’re such a fucking tease!” She took a step forward and grabbed hold of the hard bulge in the front of his jeans. “You don’t want to do something about this first?”
She bit her lip, looking up at him seductively while squeezing his cock. “Mackenzie,” he warned, taking hold of her hand, he bent her arm behind her back and pulled her flush against his body. “I have the power here. It will se-”
“Serve you well to remember that.” She mimicked him, causing him to chuckle. “I think it’s about time we have an exchange of power.” She used her free hand to grip his ass. “Don’t you think?”
“What exactly are you suggesting?” He gave her his flashiest smile, his eyes lit up with mischief. “Tell me what you want, papillon.” He dipped his head to nestle his face against her neck. “What do you want?” He licked her skin.
She felt her legs go weak, her body falling against his. He was right, he had total power over her. She couldn’t think straight when he held her like this, his lips, tongue and teeth on her neck, his arms wrapped around her body possessively. Her mind was reeling with sexual possibilities, all of which involved her submitting to him. Damn! After a while she mustered up some strength from somewhere and untangled herself from his body.
“Fine. You win … for now.” She walked away in a huff, her arms crossed over her chest, until Nate was beside her, pulling on her forearm. He smiled down at her and she couldn’t help but smile back. Their fingers entwined and she allowed him to lead her from the pool, down the side of the house. “Tease,” she muttered under her breath and he chuckled.
When they rounded the edge of Nate’s large home, Mackenzie was mesmerized by the beautiful garden in front of them. A lush expanse of green lawn was surrounded by pretty garden beds full of plants of all shapes and sizes. It reminded her of being in the Chicago Botanic Garden it was so meticulously kept. Nate continued to stroll across the lawn to the far end where there was a huge weeping willow tree. He swept aside the canopy of long branches and they stepped into … a wonderland. Mackenzie gasped.
Nate was watching her take it all in. Her eyes looked considerably greener as the sunlight trickled through the branches and bathed her in light. She was mesmerizing. “What are you thinking?” he asked.
“I’m remembering. There was a park around the corner from where I grew up.” Mackenzie spun around under the shade of the large tree and, as she was still holding Nate’s hand, he went with her. “Other kids would play on the jungle gym or the swing set, but I always went under the willow tree where I could play make believe games of fairies and princesses. When I was older I would sit under that tree and read books.”
She stopped talking, her cheeks red with embarrassment.
“Go on,” he encouraged her with a squeeze of her hand. It was rare that she spoke about such things and he didn’t want her to stop.
“I loved that tree.” She ducked her head, looking at where the long branches touched the ground, just like her tree used to. “It was a place where I could hide. I had to take care of myself a lot growing up. I didn’t have many friends either. After school I’d come home to an empty house, make myself a snack and then go to that park, to my tree. When I was home I was always busy doing chores or homework, but my afternoons at the park, before Mom came home? That tree … was somewhere to go and just be a kid, you know? It was my happy place.”
Nate brought their joined hands to his mouth and placed a tender kiss to the back of Mackenzie’s. She lifted her head to look at him, and the depth of melancholy behind her eyes made moisture build in his own. He envisioned a young and lonely Mackenzie and he felt overwhelmed with sadness.
“Our children would never feel like that Mackenzie.” His voice was hoarse when he spoke. “They’d never feel alone or unloved.”
Mackenzie was stunned into silence. She’d made it perfectly clear that she didn’t want to have children and she wanted to be mad at him for making such a comment. But how could she? It was such a romantic and beautiful thing to say and he wasn’t teasing either. She could hear the sincerity in his voice and see it in his dark brown eyes full of love. So rather than spoil the moment she decided for a change of subject.
“It’s very private in here.” She grabbed hold of his other hand and started walking backwards.
“It is indeed.” He allowed her to tug him a few steps before he took over and gently pushed her into the tree trunk.
“What could we possibly do with all of this privacy?” she asked, before biting her lip and dropping his hands.
