"Well, that will be soon, as soon as we have train tickets."
Ajay's eyes were tearing up and he turned away to viciously kick the bed post. This caused him to hop around on one foot for a minute. At least he could pretend that the tears were for his toe. "Which beach?" he asked in an almost-normal voice.
" I 'ave a friend in Belgium that organizes raves, and 'e says that this year Aljibagh Beach is the place to go. He says that the hustlers from Haifa have found it, but not the drunken Brits. Not yet. We must hurry to be there for full moon. As soon as we have our passports, we will buy tickets."
Ajay hugged her and kissed her. He was heartened to know that since her ticket home was from Mumbai, he would be seeing her again.
Marique, on the other hand, knew in her heart that Ajay would still visit the retreat on weekends, whether she was here or not. She had lost him to Lakshima. She had lost him to his business plan for this ashram.
