  Chapter One

Elisa stared at the invitation in her hand and shook her head. Her mother was actually throwing a Halloween party, and, if that wasn’t bad enough, the theme of the party was Blood Suckers In Vegas. Really?

Only her mother would think it funny. Since Helena was married to a true vampire now and had been for the past 18 years. To see her mother look younger and younger over the last few years had been a little shocking. But what had hurt the most was when they had to move all the way across the country now that Helena wasn’t aging.

She shook her head and stared out at the night life of Cleveland. Elisa Martin loved living in the city, the museums, concerts and just watching the people, but she did have to admit it did get lonely sometimes.

Looking down at the invitation in her hand, and the first class plane ticket to Vegas, Elisa knew she was going to go. Her mother had made her promise before they left that she would come to her parties and visit them three times a year. This seemed like it was one of those times.

Turning over the invite, Elisa read her mother’s note.

I wanted to let you know that your stepbrothers will also be here. It seems Sanders and Jason have taken quiet a liking to you. They keep asking all about you and I swear Sanders stares at your picture all the time.

Maybe you could wear something sexy? I mean these men are handsome and they both are worth millions.

I expect you here by Friday.

  Love Mom

Sanders and Jason—just the thought of the two of them sent a shiver up her spine. Oh, her mother wasn’t kidding when she said they were handsome. They were just out of her league and their sister, Kelly, made sure Elisa knew that the last time she was there visiting.

Did she even want to deal with all that drama? Or should she face the two men of her fantasies again in person? She knew that is was rare for Sanders to show up at their house.

Prior commitments, he had always told her mother, and her stepfather never said a word, but just nodded. Lately, though things had been weird and her mother quiet. So getting this invite must have meant something had changed or that her mother had once more gone against her stepfather’s wishes.

Her mother was so bad. Elisa snorted, knowing that she too took after her mother. Once she’d get something into her head, nothing was going to stop her. It was one of the reasons why she’d moved to Cleveland.

Since her mother had married a vampire and was now one herself, Elisa decided she was going to learn everything there was about them. So she’d moved to Cleveland, which had one of the largest vampire populations of any city. Plus, they happened to own the casino where she found a job.

She turned and smiled at Tarek, her boss and one of the owners of the Horseshoe. “So what did I do for the high honor of your visit,” Elisa teased.

In some ways Tarek so reminded her of Sanders, all he had to do was give her one look and Elisa swore every hormone in her body raged at attention, begging for more.

As if on cue the man scanned her from head to toe, taking her hand in his and lifting it until his lips hovered over her wrist. “I just had to have my fill of Elisa tonight,” he said, his teasing words melting her.

“You keep this up, I might think you are wanting something other than me working for you,” she said, slipping her hand from his, before he could kiss her wrist as he did every evening.

Elisa moved back to her window, staring out at the night. She loved her office view, but her life was so empty.

A warm arm wrapped around her, while he brushed her hair to the side and kissed her neck. “Because we both know there is more here, than boss and employee. You’re mine Elisa. When are you going to stop denying it?” he said, right before he nipped her neck.

“But?” She stated, giving him an out for his joking.

He turned her around and smiled.

“I know about the others.” He glanced over his shoulder as Jason walked in. “I knew something was off and when I went to ask for permission to court you, and then everything fell into place.” He kissed her lips softly, before stepping around behind her, bringing her back against his chest.

“Jason and his brother, Lancelot are mine also. It seems you are to have three of us serve and protect you, beautiful lady.” His words didn’t register for a few seconds.

“What? What the hell are you talking about? And Jason’s brother is Sander. Jason, explain what you are doing here?” she pulled out of Tarek’s arms and glared at her stepbrother for a second before she noticed that Sander had come into her office as well.

He stood against the far wall, watching her. “What my mate, Tarek is saying is true. Sanders is my human name when I’m in public. You will call me Lancelot, since it is my given name,” he stated and pushed away from the wall, almost stalking her.

Every move she made, he countered until he was standing in front of her. He reached up and brushed her brown hair out of her face. “I had to wait until I could get permission from the king before I could make any claim on you, but Jason and Tarek have kept close tabs on you,” he said, leaning down and burying his nose into the crook of her neck.

“I’ve missed the way you smell, like the finest Chocolate candy.”

Elisa tried to step back, but was met with another hard body behind her—Tarek. Jason moved to stand at her side. “Oh yes, my sweet, you are ours.” He kissed her lips softly. “Have you learned what you needed to? Do you know what it is to be blood mate to three vampires?” he asked, while behind her, Tarek placed kisses on the other side of her neck.

“God, stop. I can’t think.” She broke away from the three of them and shook her head. “Why now? I don’t understand? You’ve known this how long and you’ve decided now to come to me? What if I’m seeing someone?” she glared at them. “I can’t handle this right now. Excuse me, I have a job to do,” she snapped and moved out of her office as fast as she could, feeling their stares on her back.

Oh, my, God! Three vampires believed she was their blood mate, Elisa was way over her head. Moving towards the elevator, she leaned against the wall and took a deep breath.

This was so not good, especially since she was supposed to meet Eric in the bar in about 20 minutes. Elisa was horny and Eric was her sex fix. They both agreed it was nothing more than sex, since they both had high demand jobs.

Elisa stopped as she got out of the elevator. “Shit, if they find out about Eric…”

  Chapter Two

Lancelot watched the woman of his dreams walk out of her office. She had the most beautiful ass he’d seen in a long time. “We have our work cut out for us, gentlemen. Especially since we must be back with the King and his family right after Halloween.” He turned and stared at his brother and Tarek.

“That gives us only a week to court her and marry her in Vegas.” Lancelot went to the bar and poured him
self a double shot of whiskey even though it wouldn’t do much for him.

“Don’t you think we should tell her about the wedding her mom is planning for her?” Tarek asked, and he shook his head.

“No, not yet. When she has gotten used to the idea of three of us, than we can tell her, but not until then. Our home on the new world is almost finished too.”

“Will we have to leave right after the wedding?” Tarek asked Jason at the bar.

“Yes, with Queen Beth and her mates coming, it’s best. That is another reason our father made her mother change the place so it wouldn’t be near their home. In Vegas, we can get lost if we need to.” He finished his drink and turned his head towards the door.

“Seems our pretty woman has had someone else on the side,” Lancelot snarled when he felt another man touch what was his.

“Who? I’ll kill him. Damn, I thought her guards were keeping close enough tabs on her,” Tarek snarled as he turned on the monitors below.

Sure enough, there she was sitting at the bar with a soon-to- be-dead man. He glanced up at Tarek. “Do you know him?”

“Yes, and I had no idea,” Tarek headed for the door, Lancelot and his brother followed.

“This is dangerous,” Lancelot stopped and took a deep breath. “Jason, make reservations at Giuseppe’s Ristorante and make sure to tell Franco we want the best table for four. Tarek, we’re going to need all her belongs packed. Starting tonight, we’ll stay at the hotel here in town. That way, we’re all together. Lucas will be sending a few of his personal guards here. In a few minutes, meet them downstairs. I’ll deal with this man and our woman,” he ordered, having already established his dominance over his brother and Tarek a month back.

He got into the elevator and smiled. “You remember our little brawl?” he asked Tarek, running his hand down the man’s leg and brushing his cock.

Tarek moaned. “How could I forget? I was actually sore for the night. You two tagging up on me like that…” He shook and his eyes glazed over.

“We’ve both missed you. Tonight we’ll take care of you,” Lancelot said as the private elevator opened to the main lobby.

He hated crowds, but soon they would be alone and their woman wouldn’t want for anything. He just hoped she could handle a very different lifestyle.

Not one to mince words, Lancelot moved with a purpose. People moved out of his way when they saw him coming. He would have laughed at some of their expressions, if he wasn’t so wired and ready to rip someone’s head off.

Entering the bar, he scanned the room until his gaze came upon his woman talking with the man. As if sensing his approach and stare, Elisa turned slightly in her chair. As soon as she caught his gaze, Elisa froze.

Her eyes grew big, and then she mouthed the word ‘Fuck,’ before turning to speak with the man she was with before Lancelot got there. The man’s gaze went from him to her as she spoke. He wasn’t happy, but Lancelot didn’t give a flying shit, as the human’s would say.

“Mulier gemitu cordis mei, please introduce me to your friend,” Lancelot whispered in her ear, placing a kiss on her neck, but knew the man across from her could hear, since he was like him, a vampire.

She tensed up and tried to wiggle away from him as he wrapped his arms over her shoulders from behind the bar stool. “This my friend, Eric Totem. Eric this is…” she frowned and glanced over his shoulder. “What is your name? Didn’t Tarek call you something else?”

Lancelot leaned over, offering the man his hand. “I’m Lancelot Sanders Galahad. I don’t know if this lovely lady has told you, but she is my woman. Let me be very clear. I don’t share, unless it’s with her other mates.”

“I know of no such thing. Just because you decided to show up when you did, does not give you the right to spout crap to me,” Elisa said, glaring up at him and he smiled.

“Oh, but see that is where you are wrong. If you had been doing you research right, like you were trying to do when you left your mother’s place last June, then you would know blood mates are very possessive.”

Eric stood. “Elisa, I’m sorry about tonight, but please do call when you need me.” He turned to Lancelot. “Whatever your name is know I’ll be here waiting for her when you leave.”

At once Elisa jumped off her chair. “Eric, leave now!” she hissed, stepping forward between the two, placing her hands on Lancelot’s chest. “He’s leaving, please don’t do anything.”

“I will see him again, I promise.” Lancelot snapped, knowing he couldn’t draw attention to himself. The fact that he had slipped up and used his whole name could come back to haunt him if this man realized who he worked for.

If word got around that the king’s personal chef and friend was here, they’d be watching. It seemed he had a weakness when it came to a certain brown-haired angel before him.

He wrapped his arm around her waist and yanked her to him, all while watching as Eric left the bar, going in the opposite direction from the door where Lancelot had come in.

A light thump on his chest drew his attention down to the woman in his arms. “You will not touch him. I mean it, Sanders. And what the hell should I call you? Sanders or Lancelot?” she frowned and cocked her head to the side. “You’re not that medieval knight, are you?”

He cocked a grin and nodded. Her eyes got big again and she shivered.

“Well damn, but that does not change the fact that you can’t just come in here and tell me, ‘I’m your Blood Mate.’ Why didn’t you tell me at Mom’s? No, if I was that important to you, you would have done something in June.” Elisa tried to escape his grasp, but he held on.

“Do you know how hard it was to watch you leave? Yes, my love, you are mine as Tarek is also my mate. Jason is Tarek’s mate too, and so are you. There is no question, but we had to wait to lay claim to what was ours. I can’t tell you here—too many ears. Come.”

Lancelot didn’t give her a chance to reply. With his arm around her, he guided her out of the bar. At once, the guards spotted them and surrounded them.

“Okay, what the hell is going on? What do I feel like a sardine in an open can, being surrounded by cats?” she glared up at him and he smiled.

“I do love your wit when you are nervous. I will explain everything shortly, but first dinner awaits us.”

One of the guards opened the door for them as the limo Tarek had ordered pulled up to the front of the hotel, just as his little brother and Tarek came out after them.

“We’re all set for dinner. This is my personal car. I take it we’ll be staying at the hotel tonight, before we leave?” Tarek asked as they got into the limo.

“Yes, I want to double check security at the hotel in Vegas before Lucas and his family comes in. He wants to meet both you and Elisa before the party,” he said, and watched as Elisa listened.

“You better start explaining or I’m getting out of this car now,” she snapped, glaring at Tarek then him.

He laughed and pulled her back against him. “You know there is trouble amongst our kind. The king and his family had to leave Earth, to make sure their family was safe. What you don’t know is that I’m not just Edward’s personal friend, I’m also the King’s head chef. I now live on their world with them.” He placed a kiss on the top of her head.

“I really did hate leaving you, but we couldn’t come to you until I had been granted permission by the king to bring you to my new home, hence the guards. I am part of the king’s staff and, as such, there is a threat of danger. If I could change this I would, but these past months have made me realize how much I couldn’t live without all of you in my life.”

She didn’t say anything for a few minutes, then turned to look up at him. “Different world? You want to take me to a different world? Are you out of your ever-loving mind! What am I supposed to do there? Are there cities, other people?”

“There will be plenty for you to do. You’ll be helping the queen and I know you’ll love her. They’ll all be in Vegas when we get there. Plus, I’
m sure you’ll love to explore the new place. We’ll take you out hiking any time you want. Of course, if you want, you could help me in the kitchen?” he said. She shook her head, smiling.

“Nope, I burn water and I’d hate to be accused of killing off your queen with my cooking. I don’t know if I can do this. I mean, I like living near the city, all the art galleries and museums, not to mention how am I going to keep in contact with mom? Are you sure about this blood mate stuff? Maybe there is a mistake.”

“No, there is no mistake, and I promise, we’ll keep you busy.” Lancelot turned her around so she was looking up at him.

“Lucas is the oldest of our kind. He could be king, but he does not want that. It’s Edward’s other mate who is King. But Lucas’ home and the place we are staying has vaults filled with ancient artifacts and he needs help going through everything. I suggested you might be interested since you do have an Masters in history.”

Her eyes lit up and she sat forward. “Really, they’ll let me help?” Elisa asked and the three of them laughed.

“Yes, really. Right now there are only four families living on the planet, and slowly others are being brought over, but only when they have been tested. Lucas and Edward both test every individual that comes to their new home.”

“What do you mean ‘tested’? How?” she shivered, and started to run her hands up and down her arms.

  Chapter Three

Elisa stared out the window, all the while Lancelot kept his arm around her. He and her other two so-called blood mates were discussing some problems Tarek had been having at one of the Casino’s clubs and different ways to handle them.

When Lancelot had informed her about the testing, Elisa was seriously thinking about jumping out of the moving car. Over the last few years, Elisa had learned a few things about herself. One was that she hated when others tried to dig into her mind, as most annoying blood suckers tried.
