“Lord, woman, you are so doing everything right. I’m close. If you don’t want a mouthful of cum, ease off me, baby.”

Meghan needed to taste him, but even more than that, she needed to give him this. This was a pleasure and an acceptance of him that she knew he craved.

Instead of easing off him, she began to suck on him with a strong, steady rhythm.

  “Yes! Meghan.”

The first stream of his jism hit the back of her throat. She swallowed, the flavor strong yet compelling. He began to gently thrust his cock into her mouth, and she let him have the control, held on to his legs as he fucked her mouth the same way he’d fucked her pussy. Each stream he gave was hot, tasty, and grew her appetite for the next.

Finally spent, he bent over her, his hands leaving her hair to slide down her back. As soon as she released his cock, he dropped to his knees in front of her.

“Thank you.” He kissed her sweetly. Even as she returned his kiss, she felt Ryan come up behind her. He pressed his lips to her shoulder.

“That was the hottest thing I’ve ever seen. You got me so horny. I need to taste you now, Meghan. I need to pleasure you the same way you just took care of my brother.”

Meghan barely had a moment to think. Ryan lifted her onto the futon, and then he was kneeling between her legs, his lips and tongue going straight to her pussy.

Her arousal began to spiral out of control with the first long, lusty lap of his tongue. He teased her clit and devoured her slit, and Meghan knew she was going to come, and there was nothing she could do to stop it.

Ryan thrust his fingers into her, and when he found the delicious sweet spot within her, her orgasm erupted. Spasm after spasm of sizzling release vibrated through her, drenching every cell, every atom with the most wonderful pleasure. Meghan’s back bowed off the futon as her hand tugged on his hair.

He crawled up her body, a predator of the sexiest kind. Settling on her, she had one moment to relish the heat and the strength of his erection brushing against her wet folds.

And then he plunged balls deep into her.

Meghan surrounded him, lifting her hips to his thrusts. Then he stilled. His arms came under her shoulders, and he lifted her into his kiss.

She drank in the flavor of them both, the erotic thrill immediately addictive. She’d already climaxed and knew the next one wasn’t far off.

Ryan raised his head and met her gaze. “Will you let me take you another way?”

Meghan shivered. “You want to fuck my ass?”

“Yes.” He kissed the corner of her mouth and gave her one more slow thrust. “Will you let me? I’ll stop if it hurts too much. But I need...”

She didn’t let him finish. She covered his mouth with her hand. “I need, too.” The desire to feel this man’s cock in her ass—to feel both of them there—was something she could neither explain nor excuse. The compulsion to mate, to come to that moment when vows were exchanged and she held both her lovers in her body at once, was a compulsion bred into her from the beginning of time.

Ryan withdrew from her body and used his hands on her hips to help her turn over. She felt the sizzle of his magic just before she felt the sensuous slide of his fingers spreading lube over her anus. He pressed, one finger pushing against her rosebud, and the burn ignited her passion. Thousands of tiny nerve endings began to dance with glee in response to the stimulation. She felt his finger penetrate her, and pushed against his hand as he used that finger to fuck her, to swirl and stretch her just a little. Then another finger joined the first, and the burning increased, wrapped around her arousal, and drew a moan of pleasure from her soul.

Jeremy stretched out beside her, and as his brother continued to stretch her, he leaned over and kissed her.

“On your knees, baby.” Ryan showed her how he wanted her. The appearance of pillows under her hips, supporting her, made her smile, even as her need for Ryan’s cock grew.

Then he withdrew his fingers from her. More lube coated her opening, and then Ryan set the hot, latex-covered head of his cock against her rosebud. He pressed, demanding she surrender her body to him.

Meghan answered that demand, relaxing her hips and her legs, willing herself to submit. She’d never felt so aroused, never felt so sexy or so needed. Ryan tented her, his push against her unrelenting.

“Don’t let me hurt you, baby.”

“You can’t hurt me. Just do it.” Oh, there’d be pain, and she welcomed it. The concept of erotic pain had intrigued her since she’d first heard of it, years before. Now feeling her lover breach her sphincter, and then, yes, slide deep into her, she knew it was an element she’d always want in her life. The burning pain just increased her arousal, making her hotter than she’d ever been.

“You feel so good. Just lie still, baby. I’m on the edge.”

She felt the emotion in his words, the very edge he spoke of. And the feral woman in her rose up, needing to push that limit, needing to push him over the edge of his finely held control.

Eros took over as her arousal shot high, pulling a sound of desperation from her, even as her hips pressed back meeting Ryan’s tentative thrust.

“Meghan!” Her name a plea on his lips, Ryan groaned, and then he began to move in her, long, steady thrusts that took them both to the top of the mountain. Shivering, quivering, desperate for the plunge, they soared together as their climaxes exploded, a long, sharp and rapturous free fall into bliss.

  Chapter 10

“He wants to meet with us now?” Jeremy couldn’t believe the words his brother had just said.

The wonderful buzz of making love with Meghan was still resting easy on his soul. There was something about the woman that calmed all the restlessness within him. When he was with her—even if he was just in the same room and could look up and see her—then his world felt whole and...right.

The last thing he wanted to do was leave her and go to Raleigh to meet with a possibly legitimate medium who’d already jerked them around once.

“That’s the message he left. Samuel Kolm wants to meet us in”—he checked his watch—“two hours at the Regency.” Ryan shrugged.

“Who is Samuel Kolm?” Meghan asked.

“Reputed to be a true medium,” Ryan said. “He’d finally agreed to see us, and so we left D.C. on the way to Raleigh, and we were just entering Paisley when he called and canceled.”

Meghan grinned. “Which led you to going into the General Store?”

Jeremy nodded. “This, in turn, led us to your butterfly, which then led us to you.”

“You know, Jer, for that alone we kind of owe the guy.”

“Send him some flowers,” Jeremy said. He really didn’t want to leave Meghan, and he didn’t know if it was because he’d suddenly morphed into an overprotective fool, or if it was because he was loath to leave her, period.

They still hadn’t really looked into the Fortunas. There was something about them—just hearing about them from Miss Bea—that made him wary.

It’s as if the warrior within me has come to full alert.

“You should go.” Meghan nodded. “He’s the reason you came here from D.C. That means he must have been important to you.”

“We’re planning a few shows on mediums, and the lesser known world of necromancy, which was why we were excited about Kolm.”

Because Ryan was looking at him, Jeremy had to concede a point, albeit a minor one. “Unlike some who claim to be mediums and make a big deal out of their talent, it seems that Kolm has made a habit of keeping his talent low-key. He doesn’t, as far as we could discover, charge people a ton of money or promise anything grandiose, and he stays as far away from the spotlight as possible.”

“Then why did he agree to talk to you at all?”

“You forget, sweetheart. We did our research partly for the show and partly to get answers for us. Besides, meeting with us and having a conversation over dinner is one thing. It’s something else entirely for us to get him to agree to be on an episode of
Supernaturals Among Us: Yes or No.”

“We’ve never featured anyone without their consent,” Jeremy said. “Not once.”

Meghan tilted her head. “So the people who’ve been on your show, and who’ve subsequently turned out to be charlatans, invited you to use them in the first place?”

“They asked to be on the show and thought they were clever enough to pull one over on these two Indiana boys.”

“I guess I really misjudged you.”

“Hey.” Jeremy didn’t like the frown on Meghan’s face. He already knew her well enough to understand she’d beat herself up about having made what he considered a completely understandable mistake.

Yeah, he’d been pissed at first. But understanding what she’d been through and knowing her heart the way he did now, he sure as hell couldn’t blame her.

He cupped her face and gave her a very light kiss. He wanted to do more but decided they’d been at her enough for one day. “Considering your personal experience with that dickhead Conway, I don’t blame you one bit for being completely leery of us.”

“And you didn’t cling to your previous opinion. You were open enough to agree to see a few episodes.” Ryan also came over and kissed her.

“I know. But I allowed one really bad experience to affect me more than I should have.”

Jeremy shook his head. “Nope. You arrived here, without any real idea what you’d face. To be honest with you, if I was approached to do something so bold, to leave everything I knew behind and strike out on my own? I’m pretty sure my answer would have been no.”

“You’re braver than that.” Meghan went up onto her toes and kissed him. “I know you’re worried about me, especially with a possible unknown threat from two men who may or may not be after me. There is a measure we can take that might set your mind at ease.”

  “And that would be?”

“You can open your minds to me—giving me permission to send you thoughts, to be in touch. It’s kind of like...if we all had cell phones connected to each other and just left them on and open.” Meghan shook her head. “No, it’s more than that. You’d know my thoughts and feelings just by asking to know them, as I would yours and you would each other’s. It’s a bit of an invasion of privacy, I guess you could say.”

“Are you kidding?” Jeremy looked at Ryan, who nodded. “We wouldn’t see it that way, little tiger. That would actually make it easier to leave you for a few hours.”

He looked at Ryan and, just by willing it, was able to enter that mind space once more. He asked a question of his brother and got the answer he expected. Then he reached for her left hand, and Ryan took up her right. There was one more thing he wanted to say.

“We’re not ready to say yes to the whole mating thing. But until we get this situation resolved—until we find out about those two men who frightened Miss Bea and who might very well be a threat to you—we’re in this together.” It was the best either he or Ryan could do, and the closest either of them dared to come to expressing, or even acknowledging, what he suspected already lay in each of their hearts.

  * * * *

She’d wondered if they’d seek her out.

One thing she could say for the two women who were not only her best friends but also her sisters was they could be counted on to be there for her.

It didn’t bother her one bit that both Cheri and Diana felt protective of her. Things had changed for her, and when she saw the look of ire on both her friends’ faces, she guessed they’d figured something out, something she’d been able to keep hidden from their questioning minds for the last few years.

“Why the hell didn’t you tell us about Brutus Conway?” Diana was the tallest of them, and with her flowing black hair, she really did look like every depiction of a warrior goddess Meghan had ever seen.

There’d been no announcement, no group hug of greeting. One moment they weren’t there, and the next, they were. She’d felt their magic at the same time as they appeared, which wasn’t unusual, especially considering where they each came to her from.

Cheri had been in New York City and Diana in Los Angeles.

She grinned up at her friends and, at the same time, sent an “I’m okay” message to Ryan and Jeremy.

“Because I felt stupid, and we were all having a few problems acclimating, if you’ll recall.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Diana was able to keep a poker face while telling a bald-faced lie. Meghan really admired that about her.

Because she felt their concern, she held up one hand to her sisters. Then she held out both to them. “Please say hello to Ryan and Jeremy. They intercepted my emotions, and they’re worried about me. Apparently just telling them I’m okay isn’t cutting it.”

Fortunately Ryan had just pulled the car into the parking garage at the hotel where they were meeting Samuel Kolm. So when Meghan linked hands and power with her sisters, they were able, all five of them, in join in mind space together.

“This is cool,” Ryan said. His quick grin belied the worry she knew he’d felt. “So, you’re Meghan’s sisters. Did she tell you about our little concern for her safety?”

“They’ve only just arrived.” Meghan sighed and wondered why she’d never anticipated that choosing to be naïve most of her life would lead to such a moment.

“See that you tell them, little tiger.” Jeremy’s hand caressed her back.

“Your power is even stronger than Max and Tony’s was,” Cheri said. “That’s good. We can’t help. We’re only allowed this one visit, unless the First Mother gives us a second.”

Meghan recalled the occasion vividly. She and Diana had both been surprised to be allowed to visit Cheri at all during her mating ritual. The presence of unexpected evil had prompted the meeting.

“You’d better not mess with my sister.” Diana’s fierceness could frighten the most valiant man.

“You need to mind your own,” Jeremy said. “Meghan is fully capable of taking care of herself.”

Diana apparently had nothing to say to that.

And then the mind space was closed, and they were all three back in Meghan’s workshop.

  “So...what problem?”

Meghan filled her sisters in on the situation, as it stood.

“Ah, that was the other light I sensed. This Miss Bea...” Cheri tilted her head to the side, and then she smiled. “Good. I didn’t know we could do that, give a boost of power to a descendant of the Chosen who wasn’t our destined mate.”

“Neither did I,” Meghan confessed. “I sensed the First Mother’s power in this. I wouldn’t be surprised if she sends someone we don’t know about to mentor Bea.”

“I think that being challenged, as you three were, Cheri, surprised the Concilium.” Diana snorted. “They, too, thought they understood this world. They didn’t like being proven wrong.”

“They wouldn’t,” Cheri agreed. Then she grinned. “The parents weren’t too happy about the situation, either.”

Meghan returned her friend’s smile. Until Cheri mated with her men, they’d all three been under the impression that they’d never get to see their homeland—or their families—again. She could just picture her own parents—as fierce as she herself had been the opposite—taking on the Concilium.

“We mostly wanted to be sure that you were okay after...well, after.” Cheri’s blush told Meghan exactly what her sister was referring to.

“More than okay. They make me feel things I didn’t even know existed.” She’d always been able to share thoughts with her sisters. Now, as she let them in, she didn’t mind in the least that the thoughts were far more personal than she’d ever shared.

“My respect for your men has just jumped a notch.” Meghan understood what a concession Diana’s soft words actually were.

  “They’re good guys.”

“And you’re in love with them and worried that they’re going to choose to walk away.”

Meghan nodded. She knew Cheri had suffered the same
uncertainty. “I am, because I really don’t want to be without them. But…” She exhaled and smiled, even though that was the last thing she felt like doing. “I can’t make that decision for them. And maybe, considering how much we can do, and how little uncertainly we’ve had in our lives before coming here, maybe that’s a good thing.”

“I don’t know.” Diana shrugged. “I do know that I’m going to be the one on the hot seat next, and quite frankly, I have no idea how I’m going to handle it.”

“I’ll be there for you, no matter what,” Meghan said. She wanted to say that Diana was their warrior goddess, the one they’d always counted on to carry the sword if the need arose. Now, looking at her sister through the lens of her own experiences, she decided not to put any more pressure on her.

If there was one thing she was beginning to understand with clarity, it was that destiny was real, as real as was their magic. And with destiny, especially where other people were concerned, one could do only so much.

Her sisters hugged her and then left her workshop to return to their own places, and their lives. Meghan looked forward with confidence that there’d be a day when they and their families—the families they would each create with their mates—could come together in friendship on a regular basis.

Meghan hadn’t come into her workshop in anticipation of a visit from her sisters. She’d thought to make a few trinkets to set aside for the store. But the mood to play with her glass had left her. She stepped out of the workshop and cast her eyes to the sky. It was a beautiful late afternoon in July. The weather, which had been so unsettled of late, seemed to have smoothed out in the last few days. Hot, but not overly so, it was a day that nearly begged for idle pursuits. She tuned in, just briefly, and knew her men had begun their meeting with Mr. Kolm.

Allowing a couple of hours for an extended dinner, and then time to drive back, she’d be lucky to see them before eleven.

That left her several hours to fill, something that had never been a problem before Ryan and Jeremy Jones had come into her life.
