Welcome to Hell (Ops Warriors Book 7) Page 11

by Harley McRide

Fork stared at his woman and shook his head. “Baby, there is something incredibly sexy about that, which makes us severely twisted.”

Harmony nodded and cupped her hand against his cheek. “I know, honey, which is why we fit.”

“You know,” Freedom said narrowing her eyes, “that’s what got you pregnant in the first place, remember?”

Harmony laughed and flipped off her friend, and Rebel walked farther into the room to sit between Shark and Blade who were on the couch. Shady looked at her closely.

  “How you feeling?”

“Better,” she said and smiled. Shady nodded.

“Okay cool, so we have guys right now on all of the places Fucker Pete has been the last two days. Cajun and Easy are going to go check in with some of the guys personally. We are trying to find a time when he is well enough away from any public eyes to snatch him. Fork is going to set up a small command center with the computers and burner phones they brought with us. And we are going to check all the weapons we have for inventory. When the time comes, whoever is there needs to be prepared.”

Everyone nodded, but Fork said quickly before anyone stood, “Hey, the Furies have a plan, it may work too. Now, Boony sent me the search results for the PI we found, haven’t gotten into to them much, but I will. We need that connection, Angela Reyes is responsible for a lot of shit, the bitch has been working against us for years, but she never had a reason to come at us hard. Now she does, she wants Jas, and that is not fucking happening. So, I say we plan with the Furies, take the fucker down and out, get the PI and take him back to San Diego where we can talk to him more freely. Maxi would like a shot at him.”

“So what’s the plan?” Shark asked, leaning forward with his arms on his knees.

“They have a Prospect, Ironside, no one knows him, but he is fresh out of the military and can handle himself. Tank wants to send him over to the motel, have him get a room and check things out. They were planning to use him anyway for this. He is going to try to get information when the others will be here. Either way, he will be useful. Tank thinks if this kid can get some kind of idea what the hell they’re doing there, it will give us an advantage. But for us, it means we have someone close enough to tell us if they miss Pete. We follow him, take him out, problem solved, plus we have someone there,” Fork said.

“There is no way they’re going to trust a fresh cut military boy, they’re going to kill him,” Cajun said seriously.

Fork nodded. “I admit, that is what I said as well. But apparently, we would be wrong. The kid is Titan’s kid.”

All the men looked shocked, and Cajun said, “Titan didn’t have kids, remember?”

“Well, yes he did, and they just found him on one of their runs. He worked for the DOJ but is requesting a discharge. It will be granted because of something he did. Anyway, he looks the part apparently, which is good for us. They seem confident,” Fork said, and Harmony leaned in.

“He is hot, just saying if that has any bearing on anything,” Harmony said.

Fork glared at her. “No, it doesn’t.”

She grinned and said, “You’re hotter, baby.”

Fork glared at her and then shook his head and turned to the room. “Okay, so for now we go with their plan. I will get the computer set up with Boony, and you guys go and do the surveillance. We meet back here at say noon, eat, regroup, and then do a second round. Keep in contact.”

The guys stood, and Blade looked down at her and smiled. “Come say goodbye, sweetheart. Shark will have you all day to himself.”

She laughed and then stood and walked into the bedroom where he grabbed his wallet and keys, when he turned around she was right there. He wrapped his arms around and lowered his head, kissing her. When they came up for air, she was breathless, and he was smiling.

“Think that will do?” he said softly, and she shrugged.

“Well if not, Shark is still here, I am pretty sure he would help me out.”

“Sassy,” Blade said and kissed her again. When he lifted his head, he said, “And I like it.”

Rebel grinned. “I hope so, I have a lot of it.”

Shark leaned in and said, “Blade.”

He looked at his best friend and nodded then kissed her one last time. “Bye, sweetheart, be back soon.”

“Stay safe,” she whispered, not wanting to say she was worried about him being out there with those assholes. She knew they would kill any of the Ops just to say they had done it.

Blade moved to the door, and she followed him, and when he left, she sighed a little. Shark wrapped his arms around her and kissed her on the cheek before pulling her back to the living area. The girls were still there, and Fork was moving things off the table onto the floor, pulling out a laptop. Seems like this was going to be home base.

Shark said, “Let me order up some drinks; everyone, get comfortable.”

Rebel bit her lip and watched the other women as they pulled out computers and sat down on either the chairs or the floor. Fork made his place in the corner chair with the table, so when Shark came back, he pulled her to the couch and sat down in front of her, pulling out his computer.

“Let me show you how to get onto the Ops Webpage chat,” he said, and she frowned.

“The Ops Warriors have a chat page?” she said.

Freedom nodded and said, “Oh it is cool, Boony and Data set it up. The guys didn’t get how to use it at. First, I swear, but now they’re able to communicate with their phones now. It makes it easier when they’re doing runs or something.”

Shark said, “It really does. I set it up on my phone, and when Blade and I were up north, it worked real nice to know what was going on.”

Fork looked up. “He is also going to set up private rooms as well. So we can leave notes about church to members, and the Lady Riders can as well.”

“Oh, so you have your own portion of the page too?” she asked the women. Shady nodded.

“Yeah, we do, it’s the Lady Riders’ section. We use it for Broken Wings schedules or what needs to be done. It makes it easier as well if we need to leave the compound for a client, we can give the information faster than waiting to do it when we come back, things are already in motion. Saves us a lot of time.”

She watched as Shark signed onto a web page and suddenly she saw a huge complex web page with messaging and tons of other things. “Wow, can I get on it?”

Shark looked up at Shady who said, “Well, you are going to be a Prospect, right?”

Rebel smiled and said, “Yep, you guys are going to have to be patient.”

Harmony snorted. “Yeah, don’t think that is in the cards, but you can always ask Santa.”

  Chapter Twelve

Blade got off his bike and looked around. The PI’s office was just a block away, and Ox was sitting on it. He moved to the small business center where Ox had last checked in at, the place was a courtyard with businesses, a coffee shop, and a few restaurants. He saw Ox sitting outside of the coffee shop, with his cut on, drinking coffee and smoking a cigarette.

He approached the large man and said, “Hey, anything?”

Ox looked up at him and shook his head. “Nope, hasn’t come in yet today. Thinking he has a case, but the secretary is there. I was just thinking I was going to mosey on over there and see what’s up.”

Blade looked at the store and nodded. “You want backup?”

“Sure thing,” Ox said, and he stood and flicked his smoke into the street. “Thinking we just go in and get the lay of the land, ask her about prices and stuff. Maybe lay it on thick we have money to burn.”

Blade nodded, and they both moved across the street, as they walked, Blade said, “Pete the fuck up is still at the hotel.”

Ox chuckled and said, “Yeah, not real bright, did Tank tell you what happened this morning?”

“Nah, or if he did, I wasn’t told yet.”

Ox paused and grinned, which was seriously scary on the man. Blade didn’t know if he was smiling or pl
otting a murder, it could have gone either way with that look. “Asshole stays out all night, pulls in this morning. One of the other assholes comes storming out demanding to know where the fucker went. Said they were here to do a job, that is it, nothing more. Ole Pete pushes the guy up against a wall and commences to yell at him, saying he is the Road Cap and shit like that. Fuck, it was beautiful, Ironside steps out of the room we rented, his door was right by where Pete pushed the guy up against the wall, he asks if there is a problem. Pete is a dumbass and tells Ironside to fuck off. Well, Titan’s boy is just the same as Titan, the man can spot an opening where there is none. He steps up and lays Pete out without speaking again. Stares down at him and spits, looks at the other man and glares. Then turns and damned if he didn’t shock the shit outta us when the other guy asks him for a beer. Ironside played it cool, told him later and went back to his room.”

Blade nodded and said, “He has an in.”

“Yeah he does, and since he was wearing a cut, from a club we use to deflect interest in us, it’s easy to get his background. Fling put him on the roster as an Enforcer.” Ox laughed. “Fuckers are dumb as a box of rocks.”

Blade rolled his eyes. “I still don’t understand why the fuck Shady’s mom was using them. None of them are real bright.”

“That is probably why,” Ox sneered. “She tells them what to do, and they jump as high as she wants them too.”

They reached the front of the PI’s business, and Ox walked in first, the secretary looked to be about ready to throw in the towel with whoever was on the phone. She smiled at them apologetically, and Ox just grunted and sat down. Blade followed him, and they stared at the woman and listened in.

“Yes, I will tell him you have been calling. I realize how important this is, yes I will make sure right when he gets in to give him the message,” the secretary said and then she hung up the phone and looked at them. “I am sorry, Mr. Reid is not in the office right now, he won’t be in until later, but I can set you up an appointment if you would like.”

Ox stood up and walked to the desk, his size blocking her view from Blade as he looked around the small office and grimaced at the seventies style furniture. “Need help now, how much?” Ox grumbled.

The woman sighed and said, “As I said, Mr. Reid—”

“I heard you, I’m not deaf, I asked you how much,” Ox said calmly, although she would be a serious idiot if she didn’t hear his controlled angry tone.

“Of course you are not,” she said soothingly. “Mr. Reid bills by the hour with a 350.00 consultation fee right up front. If it is something big, he is filled up for the next month or so then he will be free, but if it is something smaller, he could fit you in if needed.”

The phone rang, and she apologized and answered the phone, “Reid Investigations.”

Ox turned and raised an eyebrow and Blade shrugged, and when the large man turned back, he said, “Bathroom.”

The woman continued talking and pointed down the hall. Blade remained where he was seated and pulled out his phone and waited. The secretary was giving whoever was on the line her spiel about rates she had just given them, but apparently whoever it was had a fuck of a lot more questions than they had. He looked at his clock and waited. Within ten minutes Ox walked back down the hallway and looked at Blade who stood. The secretary was still deep in the call, and when Ox said he would come back, the woman waved, and they left.

When they were back across the street, hidden from the view of the PI office door, Ox pulled a file out of his back. “This what you guys are looking for?”

Blade opened it up, and he began to skim, then he grimaced and nodded, hitting Ox in the shoulder and pulling out his phone. “Thanks, man,” he said distractedly, and he called Creed.

“Yeah?” their President said into the phone.

“Ox and I got into the PI’s office, not only did Ox get the file for Angela Reyes, but he also got the one for a James Mentil who has hired Mr. Reid as well. He is paying the PI for the information he is giving Reyes. According to the files, there is a house somewhere in the hills by San Diego she is renting. Seems she is looking to use it for a while, lease doesn’t run out until next year. Sweet Pete road down there last night with the PI to see where it was, and if Reyes was there. The idiot called back a note for his secretary to put into the file. Reyes is there, and Pete is going to be making a visit tonight. Pete plans on taking the bitch out.”

“Two birds one stone,” Creed muttered.

Blade laughed. “Brother, I gotta tell you, this guy is an idiot, hell, even the PI thought so, took his money and didn’t give him half the info he gathered for Reyes. My guess is, Reyes already knows Pete is coming, my guess is, the PI already set this up, and they plan on making Pete a lesson for the other Black Hearts who think they can double cross her.”

“That what your gut is telling you?” Creed asked.

Blade looked down at the ground, and he said, “The man was laid out by Ironside this morning, easy, so I am pretty sure this PI knows what kind of prick he is, and it’s making Reyes cough up a little more to take care of the problem tonight.”

“Let me call you back, I’m guessing that’s not going to work for your girl?” Creed asked, and Blade grimaced.

“Not so much. Plus, if we take him out first, maybe it will put some pressure on the rest of them to move shit forward. Her renting that place for so long makes me think she’s in this for however long it takes. We didn’t know where she was, but now we do. We finish off Pete tonight, then we beat feet home and start doing our own surveillance. Now that we know where she is, we can hopefully set shit up, so when the time comes, we know where the fuck she will be hiding. I wouldn’t put it passed the bitch to have a backup plan. We need to know what it is. Ironside is making his play, we get him inside, we could take these motherfuckers all down, one at a time.”

Creed was silent and then said, “Let me run it by the boys, see what they say. By the time you get back to the hotel, I’ll have an answer. Make sure you’re still moving forward with Pete if you see a chance, take him.”

“Right, boss,” Blade said and hung up the phone. Ox was sitting back down, with a fresh cup of coffee and another cigarette hanging out of his mouth.

The large man turned and said, “Go check on the others, I’ll let you know if he comes back. I would guess not; at this point, I would think he’s getting ready to kill that motherfucker tonight.”

Blade nodded and then walked back the way he came, thinking about the possibility of something finally going right for them in this situation, and it was going to please everyone. So far, they felt like they were chasing their tails. Angela Reyes had been a thorn in their side for a long time, way too fucking long.

By the time they all got back to the hotel, Blade, Cajun, and Easy were more than ready to find out if they could snatch this asshole. They hadn’t learned anything else today, but they did find that Pete was going to be without backup after four thirty. The other bikers asked Ironside to go to a club party somewhere. Pete wasn’t going apparently. Fit in nicely. They had talked through the morning with Fork and Creed, and everyone was on the same page—if they could do it, they would. Now, they just needed to know the answer.

Blade had been on the phone with Georgie and Sofia several times today, the surprise they were going to have for Rebel was gonna be off the charts, which they hoped would only cement their relationship. She needed to know they were truly in this for the long haul. They got to Blade’s room, and they heard yelling. They pushed into the room ready to defend everyone when Cajun shook his head and hit Fork on the back of the head.

“What the fuck are you doing?”

Blade stepped around to one side while Easy stepped around the other. Both men groaned, and Blade snapped, “You fuckers need to stop letting them watch this shit.”

Shark looked up and grinned. “Man, it’s not my fault. Shady’s the one who picked it.”

The three pregnant women and Rebel were stan
ding in a circle while watching the television. They were crouched down, and all of them were yelling. “OH MY FUCKING GOD TAP OUT, TAP OUT!” Shady yelled.

The man on the screen was counting down slowly, and Rebel was laughing at the other woman. “See what happens when you get a man, all of your muscles that used to be nice and firm, suddenly go weak.”

“Bitch,” Harmony snapped and puffed out her cheeks a few times. “Just ‘cause you’re not carrying a precious bundle of joy for the men in your life, don’t be messing with our joy.”

Rebel laughed, and Freedom groaned. “This guy is a fucking torturist, we could learn a lot from him.”

“Yeah, if we want to fucking jazzercise someone to death,” Shady drawled and stood when the man finished and shook out her legs. “By the time this kid is born, I’m going to have thighs of steel, so when those fuckers think they can impregnate me again, I will crush them.”

“Baby,” Easy said as he walked to Freedom. “I love you the way you are; why do you keep watching this shit?”

She glared up at him. “Oh, so when I give birth, and you’re running to the strip club rather than seeing me breastfeed your kid while eating a candy bar, I should remind you of this talk.”

Easy frowned. “I can’t believe you think I am so shallow.”

Shady laughed. “Brother, it was Fork’s fault, he made a comment about us weighing more on the back of your bikes and the back wheel shock pressure probably needed to be adjusted, then we all panicked.”

Harmony turned and glared and her man. “Yeah, which means his ass is sleeping…”

“On the couch.” Fork laughed and then said, “You know, you threaten that, but then you miss my cock and yell at me to get my ass into bed.”

She rolled her eyes and then said, “Lunch!”

“Pizza!” All the girls yelled, and Blade sat down next to Shark.

“You think they realize whatever the fuck they were doing is now going to be blown when they eat pizza?” Blade whispered.

Shark shook his head and said out of the corner of his mouth, “Man, you know I don’t get involved in this shit. I know better, Harmony threw knives at the guys the last time Maxi said something.”
