Denise gawked. “Let me get away? This isn’t hunting season and I’m not a deer, Michael Buchanan.”
“As long as women are walking this planet amongst men, it is always hunting season, Dibtab,” he replied. “And you may not be a deer, but not even you can argue that Aiden went after you with all the instincts of a hunter tracking down the only thing left on the planet to eat.”
The man wasn’t wrong.
“You guys are crazy?” she mumbled under her breath, but we both heard her.
“No,” Michael argued. “I’m right is what I am. His way was not working, and so, I had to pull out the big guns. There was a chance you weren’t going to be receptive to our little talk because…well, because Aiden sucks at wooing women. So, I had to pull in the parentals in a manipulative tactic to make sure you weren’t going anywhere.” We were both silently stunned by his methods. “You guys may thank me later by naming your firstborn after me.”
My entire being warmed with Denise’s next words. “What if our firstborn is a girl?”
“Uh, Michaela, duh,” he replied right before hung up on us, as if he didn’t have time for our nonsense.
Denise looked at me and her face was full of wonder. “Your family is a strange one, Aiden.”
What could I say?
I couldn’t exactly deny it and not be a liar. “A bit,” I conceded. “And now it’s apparent that not only can you not escape me, but you can’t escape them, either.”
My eyes followed her stunning body as she hopped off my desk and made her way to stand next to my chair. When I swiveled towards her, I leaned back, brought my knees together, making room for her, and she straddled me like I hoped she would. My hands went to her hips, and I nipped at her bottom lip. “Good girl,” I said, lifting my hips a little so she could feel my dick hardening.
“You still want that blow job?” she asked, her voice husky and turned on.
I shook my head. “Nah,” I answered. “Now, I want you to ride my cock.”
Her lip curved. “Good thing I locked the door when I walked in here, then.”
Chapter 25
Denise~
It’s been a week since I officially accepted my new transfer to work for Shane, but it would still be another month or so before I could actually start working for her. There were a lot of things to finalize and Shane still had to recruit the rest of her team. I also heard that Mason was restructuring the entire floor beneath his to house her entire staff and whatever she needed to run her subsidiary. When I asked Shane if it was true, she had laughed and just said Mason had problems.
I briefly wondered what it must feel like to be married to a psychopath.
And, it turns out, the party was a go. Mason said he was always down for a family get-together and I had been so surprised over his easy acceptance of me and my family in his brother’s life, I had kept my mouth shut and graciously gave in.
“Denise?”
I looked up from some accounts I was trying to finalize to see Sarah and Kelly standing in my doorway. The second I noticed Kelly, I realized how much I missed my friend.
Even if she did throw me to the Buchanan Wolves.
I smiled. “Kells, what are you doing here?”
She and Sarah exchanged a glance, and I silently prayed there wasn’t a strip-o-gram coming through at any minute. “What did you guys do?”
They both looked back at me, Sarah wide-eyed, Kelly smirking. “What makes you think we did anything?”
“Yeah,” Sarah joined in. “How do you know I’m not just escorting a visitor to your office?”
I cocked my head at both idiots and replied-rather reasonably, “Because Kelly’s been here a million times and doesn’t need you to help her find her way to my office, Sarah.”
Her lips rolled in and popped out. “Okay,” she grumbled. “I suppose there is that.”
Something was up with the Scooby Gang and there was no way I was going to let them blindside me. I stood up and crossed my arms over my chest. “What’s going on, Ladies?”
Kelly opened her mouth and lied straight to my face. Now, how did I know she was lying? Because she’s been my best friend for eons; I knew when the hoebag was lying through her teeth. “I came to take you to lunch, but Sarah stopped me to break the news to me that you had a last-minute meeting with Mason Buchanan.”
Holy shit! I had a last-minute meeting with Mason?
Wait.
No.
Kelly was being a lying liar.
“You’re lying,” I accused. I pointed my finger at both hoebags. “You’re both lying.”
Sarah gasped and Kelly’s right hand slapped against her chest, all offended-like. “I would never lie about such a thing,” Kelly rushed out.
“Yes. You would,” I countered. “And you,” I pointed to Sarah, “there’s no way you’d be all Casual Cathy about a last-minute meeting with Mason Buchanan. You would have picked up the phone and called me immediately.”
Kelly glanced over at Sarah. “Is that true?”
Sarah grimaced. “Yeah,” she answered. “She’s got me there.”
Kelly threw her hands up and gave up the ruse. “Okay, babe,” she said, shaking her head. “We’ve been caught and we’re really horrible at subterfuge.”
Sarah’s brows rose. “I told you I wasn’t cut out to be a spy,” she said, defending her less than stellar operative skills.
Kelly ignored her, and rolling her eyes, said, “I need you to come with us, Denise.” I stared at her in all her 5’6”, dark-skinned, brown-eyed, grinning glory, sounding just like the goddamn police.
“I’m not going anywhere with you two piss poor liars,” I scoffed.
Sarah threw a finger up. “Actually,” she began, “you should be grateful that we can’t lie for shit. It means you can trust us.”
Kelly jerked her head in Sarah’s direction. “She has a point.”
I crossed my arms over my chest again and glared at them. “I repeat. I am not going anywhere with you two.”
Then Sarah stomped her foot like a five-year-old. “Okay, that’s enough of that,” she growled. “You’re coming with you, Denise, or…or…” Kelly and I both stared at her, giving her plenty of time to shock me with her specialized method of torture, but after a few seconds, it was clear that Sarah didn’t have a torturous bone in her body.
Taking pity on both the lunatics, I finally relented. “Fine,” I huffed out, dramatically. “Lead me to whatever nonsense you two are up to.”
Sarah squealed and Kelly smiled as they turned to lead me to…wherethehellever. And the more excited their steps, the more I realized they were probably just trying to give me a surprise promotion party or something. I probably should tell them about Michael’s ridiculous party, but I didn’t want to disappoint them if they really had put together a surprise lunch for me.
I followed in silence, but soon, I realized we were headed towards Aiden’s office, and that’s when I knew they were giving me a little celebratory lunch party. It was sweet, and I was excited for Kelly to meet Aiden. Our whirlwind romance hadn’t paved much of a way for us to really meet and get to know the people in our lives, so this was kind of awesome.
Well…awesome until Sarah opened the door to Aiden’s office, and I walked in behind her and Kelly to see Aiden, Mason, Michael, Gabriel, Shane, Kelly, Sarah, my mother, my father and…and…
“Oh, Sweet Baby Jesus,” I whispered, standing in the middle of the room. “Is…is that…? Oh, God,” My eyes widened, and I slapped my hand over my mouth. I immediately shook myself out of my stupor and walked up to the man who was obviously here to guide my future. “I’m so sorry, Father,” I bumbled. “I didn’t mean to use The Lord’s name in vain like that. I just…”
He gave me a soft smile. “It’s okay, Child. I…” his eyes darted around the room, “uh, understand that this was a surprise of sorts.”
This time all grace and dignified attempts at maturity flew out the window. “A surprise?” I planted my han
ds on my hips and glared over at Aiden. “Try an ambush,” I snapped.
The priest looked over at Aiden. “Uh, son…uh, you said she was going to be pleasantly surprised and more than eager to wed you,” he said, clearing seeing how he was duped.
Wed him?
Wed him?!
Aiden walked over towards me, and ignoring everyone around us, said, “She is, Father.”
I growled up at him. “Aiden Buchanan, you did not arrange for us to get married in your office after only knowing each other a few weeks,” I insisted. “Please, tell me you didn’t”
The asshole smirked. “I can’t, because I did.” He turned to face the Father and straightened up to his full height. “Now let’s do this. We have a company to run and your parents are tired from their flight.”
My head swiveled over to where my parents were standing, and I lost all hope of them coming to my rescue when I saw the looks on their faces. I don’t know what Aiden told them, but it was clear they had joined the Dibtab train along with the rest of the nutjobs in the room.
“Aiden…”
He turned, looked down at me, and took my face in his hands. “Do you love me?”
I did.
I knew it with every fiber of my being. “Yes,” I whispered just for him.
His green eyes searched my hazel ones. “You’re the air I fucking breathe, Denise-Sorry, Father.”
“No apology necessary,” he mumbled.
“I love you in a way that I’m going to end up driving you crazy one day, I’m sure. But our one day is starting right now, Denise.” He leaned down and placed a chaste kiss on my forehead. “I love you,” he repeated. “I love you and I am not going to date you and give you a chance to realize that you can do better than me. I’m locking you down with a ring, my last name, my family, and hopefully soon, twenty babies.” I let out a tearful laugh. “Say yes, baby.”
It was crazy.
This was absolute madness.
I’ve only known this man for a few weeks, a couple of them which were disastrous. No one gets married after…
And then I looked over at my parents. I looked at my parents and then looked over at Shane and Mason Buchanan, and I realized maybe my biggest mistake here was giving love a timeline. Love didn’t have a timeline.
Love had no rules or guidelines.
Love didn’t have any limits or any minimal requirements.
Love was just love.
I looked up at Aiden and nodded my head. “I love you, too.”
The look on his face was pure relief before he grabbed my hand and turned us both to face the priest. “We’re ready, Father.”
And we were.
I was ready to marry Aiden Buchanan, but not before Shane squealed, “That’s another two bucks in my pocket!”
Epilogue
Denise ~ Two Years Later
I walked into my husband’s office and dropped on one of the chairs positioned across from his desk. “Maybe the twins can work from home,” I suggested.
Aiden put his pen down and smiled over at me. “You’ll hurt their feelings talking like that,” he teased.
“It’s only been a week since the announcement that they’ll be finally fulfilling their roles in their official capacity, and I swear to God, Aiden, the single-and not so single-women in this building are losing their ever lovin’ minds about the boys being here.” I knew Gabriel and Michael were grown men, but to me, they were still my boys.
Aiden’s grin was full of laughter. “They would still have to make the occasional appearance in the office, Dibtab.”
Ugh. That damn name.
No matter how many times I tell Aiden, Gabriel and Michael to call me Denise, they just are adamant in their refusals, insisting that Dibtab is a wonderful name.
I closed my eyes and began to rub my temples. “I just keep imagining women throwing their bras and panties at the boys whenever they’re walking down the hallways.” I wasn’t joking, either. Every break room or restroom or copy machine room was filled with giddy whispers of how Gabriel and Michael were going to start BI soon and questions about their single status. I knew Gabriel had a girlfriend he visited often, but poor Michael was single as a one-dollar bill.
I was so engrossed in the possible future attacks on my brothers-in-law that I hadn’t noticed that Aiden had gotten up and walked over until I felt his hands on my shoulders. He started massaging my concerns away, and it felt so damn good. “Mmmmm…”
He leaned down and I could feel his breath on the shell of my ear. “I love that I’m the only one who can make you make that sound,” he said before dragging his tongue across the tip of my ear.
I let out a deep sigh. Two years later, the man still knew how to make my body sing. “The nachos from Senora’s, down the street, make me make that sound, too, just so you know,” I joked.
Aiden chuckled, and I felt in love with the sound all over again. In the two years that I’ve been married to this man, he hasn’t changed one bit. He was still arrogant and…overwhelming. When the man was in, he was in all the way. “Did you lock the door?”
Now it was my turn to chuckle. “No, Aiden, I didn’t,” I laughed. “I came in here to tell you that I have real concerns for the safety of your brothers, not to get hit on.”
His hands ran up my neck, and he started kneading the shit out of my knots. It felt wonderful. “Just for the record, I’m always hitting on you, Dibtab,” he remarked. “It might seem like I’m having a mature, intelligent conversation with you, but secretly, I’m undressing you with my eyes.”
“It’s really a wonder that between Shane and Mason, and now, you and me, BI hasn’t been sued due to creating a hostile sexually inappropriate work environment,” I muttered, half-ass serious.
“I’ll give you sexually inappropriate, but there’s nothing hostile about it,” he quipped. “As a matter of fact, I think our inability to stay away from you and Shane provides a sweet and loving work environment.”
This time I laughed so hard, my shaking body shook his hands off. “You are definitely cracked in the head, Aiden Buchanan.”
He walked around and dropped to his knees, settling himself inside my now opened thighs. “Well, you married me after only knowing me for a few weeks,” he pointed out. “So, what does that make you?”
I ran my hands through his dark locks. “Not very bright, apparently.”
“Exactly,” he agreed. “If you were, you would have locked the door behind you when you came into my office.” His hands were already running up the top of my thighs. “How could you not now that I’d be burying my face in your pussy, baby. I mean, seriously, it’s like you haven’t been paying attention these past couple of years.”
My core clench the second the word ‘pussy’ left his lips. Aiden turned me on just as much as he did when he first shook my hand. “One day someone is going to walk in on us, and we’ll be ruined,” I argued at the same time I was spreading my legs wider for my husband.
His hot breath danced up my thighs. “Yeah, yeah, yeah,” he said in between nips and kisses. “If that’s how you’re going to be, then I’m going to remember I have a meeting in ten minutes.”
I leaned back in the chair, closed my eyes, and kept my mouth shut.
Aiden didn’t make his meeting.
The End.
