Legally Bound 3: His Law Page 7

“Justin,” Nate barked into the intercom on his desk. His office was in a building across for Mairettie and Mairettie law offices. It was covenant, but also allowed Nate to reveal himself only when necessary.

  “Yes Sir,” Justin replied.

“I need you to send four dozen roses to Pamela’s current location. Also call that little Italian place I took her to last week. She loved the shrimp and pasta. Get her some of that, some bread, and a few bottles of alkaline water. Have that sent over for lunch.”

“Yes Sir,” Justin replied as efficient as ever.

Nate pulled in a deep breath and released it. He dialed Pamela’s phone and waited for her to pick up. After three rings Pam was on the line.

“Hey Babe,” she answered sounding distracted.

“Hey Baby,” Nate replied. “How are you feeling?”

“Fine, just a little tired. What’s up?”

“I have a meeting that has come up. I won’t be able to have lunch with you but I want to order you something. What is the shoot’s address?” Nate asked already knowing the information from her detail.

“Its fine Nate, you don’t have to do that,” Pam sighed in frustration. “Are you still coming over for dinner?”

“Yes Baby, now give me the address,” Nate commanded in a tone that brokered no arguments.

“Nate, I have to go. I will text you in a few,” Pam said shortly.

Nate grunted as the line went dead. He rubbed his temples this was going to be a long day.

Pam was frustrated. She wasn’t stupid, although her actions had been. She had no idea what she was going to do. She knew she was pregnant. She just didn’t know if it was by the man she was falling in love with or if it was by the man she once thought she loved.

If she was carrying Luca’s baby she was never going to be free of him. He had started to call her phone every hour on the hour over the last week. When Nate was around she either turned the phone off or put it on silent.

Pam felt like this was the final nail in the coffin. It made her burn with rage because Luca had slept with her just before telling her that he was going to marry someone else. Like literally right before.

She’d been coming down from her orgasm after he fucked her up against the wall of their flat. She hadn’t seen him in weeks and was missing him as much as she thought he was missing her. Little did she know he was fucking away his guilt.

He’d taken her by surprise and they hadn’t taken the time to use protection. Pamela now wondered if he was trying to get her pregnant so she wouldn’t leave him and would stay to put up with his crap. Pam’s stomach twisted in worry and disgust because she was sure it was Luca’s baby.

She and Nate had used condoms every time. Not to mention they’d only been together for a little over a month. When Pam was pregnant the first time by Luca it had been around two and a half months before she had any signs of being pregnant. She’d even had little periods the first two months of that pregnancy.

This baby was Luca’s she was sure of it. It had been about two and a half months since that disastrous night. It took her two weeks before she decided to make a run for it and leave everything behind. She wished she’d left this behind. She had no idea how Nate would feel about her carrying another man’s child.

She was sort of relieved he had cancelled lunch because she needed to go to the doctors and figure things out. She wanted Nate to be honest with her so she had no doubts about telling him about the baby tonight.

Pam knew she messed up. Nate was everything she wanted in a man. She knew he was still holding some of himself back from her but she kept telling herself it was because their relationship was new. Just like she needed time to trust him, he needed time to open up.

Pamela was brought out of her thoughts by one of the assistants on set calling her name. She had been styling an up and coming band. They were edgy but fun and she was able to give them the polish they needed to look like stars.

“You have a delivery Ms. Kemble,” the younger redhead said to Pam with a huge grin on her face.

Pam frowned and wrinkled her brows. She had been so lost in thought she forgot to send Nate the address as he had asked. So what could possibly be being delivered to her right now?

Pamela’s brows furrowed deeper as she moved to the front of the studio to find four dozen roses and a wicker basket that had wonderful aromas coming from it. Pam signed for the roses and plucked the card from them to see who had sent them. She had been a little nervous, thinking Luca had found her, until she read the card.

I would rather be having lunch with you, but I hope this lets you know how much I am thinking of you.

  -Nate

Pamela blushed as she read the card. Yup, she was in love with this man and it was going to kill her to lose him over a stupid mistake with a man that cared nothing for her. Pam quickly wiped at the tear that fell from her eye.

For a fleeting moment she wondered how Nate had gotten the address. She forgot all about that as her stomach grumbled in demand that she give the basket her full attention. She sent a quick thank you text to Nate and found a corner to eat her lunch in.

  Chapter Eleven

“So you have been living abroad for the past few years,” the smiling doctor asked. “That must have been exciting.”

Pamela hadn’t wanted to tell Paige about what was going on before she told Nate, so she looked up a doctor on her phone and was able to get an appointment in the late afternoon. Dr. Hawk was a young woman with a bright smile. Pam was nervous about this baby after what happened last time so she had told her all about it.

“It was,” Pam said with a weak smile. She just wanted to get this visit over with. It had already been confirmed that she was pregnant. Now here she was lying on her back for a sonogram. She watched nervously as Dr. Hawk put jelly on the wand and explain the process.

“So given the date of your last cycle I would like to use the wand as I think it is still very early in your pregnancy. We will see how everything looks and try to pen down your due date a little better,” Dr. Hawk said with a smile.

Pam just nodded as she chewed on her lip. Dr. Hawk inserted the wand and Pamela felt the pressure and discomfort but pressed her lips to take it. Dr. Hawk moved the wand around a bit and tapped some buttons.

“Well Pamela, it looks like your last cycle is giving us an accurate date. You are maybe eight weeks along give or take. Both sacks seem to be forming well,” Dr. Hawk said with a huge grin.

“Wait, excuse me,” Pam’s head was spinning. Nate was the father? “Are you sure? I am only eight weeks?”

Pam had mixed emotions of relief and then new fear of how Nate would take it. She’d been so worried about how he would take her having another man’s child she never thought about how he would take it if the baby were his.

“Yes, I am sure. Both sacks are looking healthy thus far,” Dr. Hawk reassured her.

“Wait,” Pam paused. “What did you say?”

“Both babies seem to be developing fine,” the doctor repeated.

“Oh my God,” Pam gasped. “Oh my God, he’s a giant with super sperm.”

Dr. Hawk choked out a laugh and tried to cover it with a cough. “Excuse me,” the doctor asked with an amused smile.

“I had to go and sleep with a giant with superhuman sperm,” Pam shook her head. “My twin is never going to let me live this down.”

“Oh, so multiples run in the family? This must be so exciting,” Dr. Hawk said warmly.

“For you,” Pamela mumbled under her breath.

“Thank you so much for coming over last minute. I had planned to talk to Nate first, but he has to work a little late. I think I will go out of my mind if I don’t tell someone soon,” Pam said nervously as her sister entered the condo.

“What’s going on you sounded so worried on the phone? I got here as fast as I could. Bobby had something to take care of so I was just about to call it a night and head home when
you called,” Paige said.

Pamela bit her lip as she tried to decide how to tell her sister the news. Pam shook her hands out in front of her. She then began to pace. Paige watched her sister. She had never seen Pam look this nervous or disheveled. Concern began to etch into Paige’s face.

Pam stopped and turned to her sister. “I told you and your friends to keep your baby cooties to yourselves,” Pam huffed.

“What are we five,” Paige snorted and then her eyes grew wide. “Wait… you are not saying what I think you are saying.”

“Yes, I am saying what you think I am saying and since my hormones are all over the place times two I think I have a right to act like I’m five right now,” Pam pouted.

Paige laughed at her sister than stop to really take in what she was telling her. Paige tilted her head to the side. “Pam,” Paige started. “Are you pregnant with twins?”

Paige said it in a whisper as if someone else was around and would hear her. Pam widened her eyes at her as if to say “duh”.

Paige burst into laughter throwing her head back. “Oh wow, I never thought I’d see the day,” Paige pushed out through her laughter.

“And what might I ask is so damn funny,” Pamela growled placing her hands on her hips.

“Pam seriously, you and I both know that you are the last one anyone would think would get pregnant,” Paige laughed but stopped abruptly as her sister’s face clouded with sadness. “What? What did I say?”

Pamela looked at the floor trying to hide the tears from her sister. “I was pregnant once. Last year… Luca and I... I lost the baby. I’m scared, P. What if I tell Nate about the baby and he leaves me. I know I’m falling for him. I don’t want to lose him and by chance the babies too.”

“Oh Pammy,” Paige slid from her seat to hug her sister in her arms. Paige started to choke on her words. “I had no idea. I wish I could have been there for you.”

“Oh God, I wish you were too,” Pam sobbed.

“But Pam, I’m here now. Everything is going to be okay,” Paige shushed Pam. “Nathan is a good guy he is going to be so happy. He adores you honey. You two have been inseparable.”

Pam snorted. “We both know that is not entirely true. You hang out more with my boyfriend than I do,” Pam said with a frown.

“I told you. Be patient with Nathan. He and Bobby have a lot on their plates right now. Bobby is working on some deals with Nathan so they are keeping later hours. They are also really good friends they do a lot together. From what I can see they are still adjusting to the fact that they now have women in their lives.”

“Really Paige, I mean I get the work part, but do you really think that they are adjusting to having us in their lives. I mean really they are grown ass men, not little boys,” Pam huffed.

“I know how you feel Pam but Nate is not doing anything to make you worry. Most times I am around somewhere when Nathan is around. He is not lying about always being with Bobby. I know that is what you are thinking,” Paige reassured her sister.

“Well are you sure those two aren’t on the down low,” Pam half teased. She was really having trouble trusting. The fact that Nathan always had emergencies or needed to stay out late, was starting to raise her hackles.

Paige pinched her sister and pouted at her before taking her seat again. “I don’t know about you, but I am giving my man more than enough in that department,” Paige sassed.

“Heifer please, why you think Nate makes his way here every night no matter what. I’m taking care of my business,” Pam retorted and gave a sly smile as she licked her lips.

“You’re so nasty,” Paige laughed as the doorbell rang out through the air. Pam started to look nervous all over again. “I’ll get it and give you some time to pull your face together.”

Paige made her way to the door and opened it. She was expecting to find Bobby and Nate. Instead she found a tall white man that could definitely give her husband a run for his money in the world’s hottest man department.

At least six foot four, give or take a few inches, with ice blue eyes that held something dark, dangerous and sexy. His goatee was trimmed nicely bringing attention to his warm tanned skin and full lips. His blonde hair was thick, but cut neatly around the sides. The middle was combed in a regal style that accented his strong face. His sharp nose and jaw gave him a look of being chiseled by the hands of God Himself. One word came to mind at first, Damn.

Next thought that came to Paige was danger. Her thoughts went right to Luca. Pam had told her a number of times how dangerous the man could be. This could be him and there was no way she was letting him get next to her sister.

Paige put a hand on her hip, squaring her shoulders and lifting her chin. “Can I help you,” she asked firmly.

Uri tilted his head and narrowed his eyes. He knew Pamela had a twin but he was not expecting her to be an exact copy of her sister. The pictures in the paper did her no justice. Uri let his eyes roam over her noting the slight bulge in her midsection. She was just as beautiful as her sister and the glow on her face spoke to her being with child. Uri admired Bobby for being such a lucky man.

“You must be Paige. It is a pleasure to meet you,” Paige lifted a brow at his unusual accent. It was sexy, but strange at the same time. His lips spread into a sexy smile that Paige had a feeling he didn’t show to many. Something about him told her he was a man to use caution with. “I am Uri. I am here to see Pamela. Would she happen to be in?”

Pam visibly relaxed at the mention of his name. This was not the cousin she was concerned about but she still kept caution on her side. “Is she expecting you,” Paige as just as Pamela came to see what the holdup was. Only person she had been expecting was Nate.

“Uri,” Pam gasped and ran forward into his open arms. Paige couldn’t help but wonder what this Luca looked like if this was his cousin. If he looked anything like Uri she could see how her sister had been thrown off her game.

Uri squeezed Pamela into his arms lifting her from her feet. “God, I’ve missed you,” Uri said into Pam’s hair. “I have no one to keep me out of trouble.”

“Oh please, you’ve been here for over a month and you are just showing up at my door,” Pam teased warmly but her smile dropped quickly as she stepped away from Uri and began to look around frantically. She stepped back and pulled Uri inside. “Why are you here now? Has he found me?”

Pam’s voice was panicked as her hand went right to her belly as if to protect her unborn children. Uri reached to stroke his hand down her hair as he looked at her like a loving big brother. “Have I not always taken care of you?” Uri said softly.

Paige watched the two with interest. She could see this man cared for her sister. As she watched closely she could see Pam’s affection for him too. She could see this was not sexual or intimate for either of them, they just had a strong bond.

“It’s important now more than ever Uri that he doesn’t find me,” Pam said nervously.

Uri’s brow furrowed. “What is it Pamela? Is something wrong?”

“No, not wrong. It’s just,” Pam bit her lip. She would much rather tell Nate the news first, but she had to insure her and the babies’ safety.

Just then the doorbell rang again and all eyes turned to the door. Pam looked nervously at the door as Paige went to answer it. She hoped Uri had not brought Luca right to her door. Pam pushed a sigh of relief through her lips as Paige stepped back and Nate and Bobby walked through the door.

Pam flung herself into Nate’s arms lifting on her toes to hug herself around his neck. Nate was taken back a little but recovered quickly and tightened his hold around her waist. It was then that Nate took stock of everyone in the foyer.

Nate nodded at Uri pulling Pam close. “Who do we have here?” Nate asked.

“Oh babe, this is my friend Uri,” Pam said moving to place a hand on Uri’s arm.

Nate lifted a brow at Pam and she lifted one right back at Nate. “He is just a really good friend, Nate. Like a brother. I’m glad you
are here. I have something that I need to tell you and Uri is going to need to know too,” Pam said then bit her lip.

Nate was curious. His woman didn’t show vulnerability around others so easily. Something was up. He wondered if she knew Luca was back in town. Nate was sure that was why Uri was here.

“We’ll just go,” Bobby said gently grabbing Paige’s elbow. “Call me if you need me.”

“Oh Bobby, could you guys please stay for a little bit,” Pam asked.

Nate was even more alert now. They all moved to the living room. Paige and Bobby took a seat together and Uri sat in an accent chair facing them all. Nate pulled Pam down onto his lap and she felt herself relax.

Pam laughed nervously. “I had planned to do this when we were alone, but I realize that if this is not something you want than I will need two of the people in this room to help me through this,” Pam sighed heavily. “Uri is Luca’s cousin so I believe he should know what I am going to say because it could be important to my safety.”

“Baby, I have told you a number of times that I am responsible for your safety and I will always keep you safe,” Nate said tightly.

Pam palmed Nate’s cheek and turned all her attention to him. “I know and I understand that you mean to keep me safe but I have more than me to worry about now and I can’t take any risks,” Pam said firmly.

Nodding to herself she continued. “A few years ago I had a severe allergic reaction to my birth control. My doctor didn’t think it wise for me to try another form or brand. So I’m not on a contraceptive,” Pam paused to let that sink in. “I know we have used protection every time, but I’m pregnant and according to the time line I am sure that the babies are yours.”

Nate’s face grew into a huge smile and he linked his fingers in Pam’s hair dragging her face to his. He kissed her so deeply he took her breath away. Pam forgot everyone else in the room. Bobby chuckled and cleared his throat.
