by Irish Winters

Overwhelmed, he’d dropped to his knees the moment he saw his first true love again. McKenna knelt with him, then took him into her arms and they’d cried together. Sad tears. Happy tears. They cried a lot these days.

“You need to rest,” Grandma Essie reminded McKenna, patting her hand like she did when she worried. And Beau’s mother always worried.

“I will. Later. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen him happier,” McKenna confessed as she found her grinning prince marching toward her with sweet Baby Essie high on his shoulder. “I’m so happy that you and Rubio accepted our invitation to live with us. I know this is a long way from Mexico, but you’ve made Beau happy, and that’s all I want.”

Grandma Essie wiped a tear. “It is all I want as well. You have such a beautiful baby.”

McKenna agreed. Baby Essie was the cutest little girl in the world. There was no doubt about that. But Beau was...

  Totally.

  Utterly.

  Beautiful.

  About the Author

  Irish Winters

…is a best-selling author who, when she isn’t writing, dabbles in poetry, grandchildren, and rarely—as in extremely rarely—the kitchen. More prone to be outdoors than in, she grew up the quintessential tomboy on a dairy farm in rural Wisconsin, spent her teenage years in the Pacific Northwest, but calls the Wasatch Mountains of Northern Utah, home. For now. She believes in making everyday count for something, and follows the wise admonition of her mother to, “Look out the window and see something!”
