“It can’t be true.”
“Michelle, the DNA proves it.” Hunter placed the file gently on the edge of her desk. “Cindy Mendel is your birth mother.”

Author’s Note:
Thanks so much for reading Power and Justice. I hope you enjoyed the twists in this story; I believe that plotting a story is my real strength.
The bulk of this story was written while I was traveling through Chicago and New York, working at various co-working spaces, especially The Writers Room Inc. in Manhattan, and Bat Haus in Brooklyn. Thanks to those places for the support and the creative spaces that they provide, and a special thank you to Parliament Co-working.
To all my amazing family and friends, thank you. To my editor Lara, many thanks for the tips and the ideas for the plot. And thanks to Bel, my new cover designer, on her amazing work.
On my travels, whether it’s at a co-working space, in a bar, or on a tour, I always come across fascinating people. I believe that everyone has a story, and I love to hear them all. To all the people I’ve met during my travels, thank you. You’ve inspired these characters.
I’ve already started the next book in the Tex Hunter series, and it’ll be written while trying to juggle my day job and the parenting duties of my three amazing little ones.
And if you enjoyed this book, please leave a positive review! Reviews mean the world to authors.
