“No, you don’t. Keep it movin’,” Iris said, rushing them both out the door to the nearest staircase.

Serenity slowly walked down the stairs with thoughts crowding her mind. Did Heaven betray me too? Why did Cass just leave me there to die? Why didn’t I listen to my sister? What is Tootsie doing here? She’s supposed to be doing twenty to life in a maximum facility back in D.C.! What the hell has my curiosity got me into this time?

“Come on, bitches, get in the car. Let’s ride!” Iris hollered motioning the women to get into the backseat of a black Audi A8 with the sounds of sirens approaching the scene. “Trini, let’s get the fuck out of here,” Iris said to the driver after shutting the door.

Serenity gazed out the window, terrified by the harsh results of her rash decisions. Her inability to subdue her urges got her in a deadly situation. She didn’t know if she had a future. Her only wish was to see her sister one last time.
