“Yeah, I’m in bed,” Heaven said dryly. She already knew Mark was more than likely going to ask her to come pick him up from somewhere.
He smacked his lips. “Man, I need you to come take me somewhere.”
“Mark, I’m in the bed. I have an eight o’clock class in the morning.”
“Shawty, it’s just right down the street from my house.”
“Well walk down there then,” Heaven said. Mark continued to beg her until she agreed. Heaven jumped out of bed, cursing underneath her breath. She grabbed her phone and keys, and headed for the door, still dressed in her pajamas. She pulled up to Mark’s house 20 minutes later and took him literally down the street.
“Mark, are you fucking serious? You could’ve walked here.” Heaven was pissed off. The drive took her five minutes so she knew he would have made it in less than 10 minutes because he was a fast walker.
“Come on,” Mark said, getting out of the car.
“Hell fuckin’ no. I’m not getting out with these damn pajamas on,” Heaven said and he began begging once again until she got out.
Mark didn’t know it but Heaven was planning on deleting his number that night. It wasn’t like she used it anyways. He was mostly calling her bumming a ride somewhere. Heaven walked into the trap house behind Mark and saw niggas, money, guns, and weed everywhere all over the living room. Two years ago that would have excited her but right then she was heated.
“Heaven, what’s up?” she heard a familiar voice ask. Heaven noticed Tre standing not too far from her. He looked drunk and high as fuck.
“Hey,” she said to Tre before turning to Mark. “I’m going back to the car,” she said, walking out not waiting for a response. She didn’t want to hear shit he had to say. As soon as she got to the car she pulled off and headed back home. Back at her house, she took another shower because she knew more than likely she smelled of weed. Her phone went off, letting her know she had a text message. She didn’t recognize the number.
Unknown: That nigga Mark is no good for you!
Tre was the first person that came to Heaven’s mind, being that he was the only face she recognized at the trap house. She wondered why the fuck was he worried about who was any good for her. Better yet, how did he get her number? Heaven made a mental note to asked Kim if she gave it to him.
Heaven: Who is any good for me is not your concern!
Unknown: I’m just saying, li’l mama, you doing good in school and all. You don’t need to be pulled back into that lifestyle and hanging with that nigga. You gonna be right back in the streets.
Heaven: Tre, please stop texting my phone! You don’t have to worry about me. Try worrying about your girl and who’s good for her because you’re not.
Heaven waited a little while to see if Tre would text her back but after he didn’t she laid down and was out as soon as her head hit the pillow.
Zylen was chilling with Lisa, someone he’d been kicking it with for a couple of months, when he received a call from Ali saying Heaven was at the trap house with that nigga Mark. Zylen found himself a little jealous that she was out with another guy, but he decided to put his feelings aside and warn her about the nigga she was dealing with. Mark was a well-known stick-up kid that always had niggas gunning for his head. Zylen had Ali get Heaven’s number from La-La. After Ali texted it to him, he texted Heaven. He knew she didn’t know his number, but he was confused and wondered why she thought he was Tre.

La-La, Kim, and Gina were posted on La-La’s front porch smoking and drinking. Kim and Gina were telling La-La about the party they had attended the night before. Since La-La had gotten with Ali she’d calmed down a lot and wasn’t into the things Kim and Gina were into. Ali had even moved in with her.
“I tell you one thing, you and Heaven’s asses ain’t no fun anymore,” said Kim.
“Girl, tell me about it,” Gina co-signed.
“It’s not that. We’re just on our grown women status. If y’all stop being hos y’all could get some business ‘bout y’all selves, too.” La-La was never the one to hold her tongue. She told it like it was, whether it hurt your feelings or not.
“Whatever!” Kim said as Heaven was pulling up. Heaven walked up and took a seat on the porch with them.
“What’s wrong with y’all?” she asked, seeing that everyone was occupied with their phones.
La-La looked up first. “Oh, nothing. Hey, boo,” she said to Heaven. Then the other two looked up and spoke as well.
“Y’all wanna go out tonight?” Gina asked.
“Not me. I have to study,” Heaven said and La-La declined also. Kim rolled her eyes as she got up.
“Come on Gina, let’s leave these two party-poopers alone,” she said, walking off with Gina right on her heels.
Heaven looked at La-La. “What’s wrong with them?”
“Jealous that we got some business ‘bout ourselves and they’re still fucking any and everything moving,” La-La laughed. Heaven didn’t care too much about Kim or Gina since she’d gotten back from college. Yeah, she might have met them first but her and La-La were more like sisters than friends. Heaven had even noticed how they had been shooting her nasty looks and saying fly shit to her since she got back. That was mostly why she didn’t care to be around them.
“You heard me, girl?” La-La asked Heaven, bringing her out of her thoughts.
“No, what you say?”
“I said, why Ali called me last night talking about Zy wanted your number?”
Heaven looked confused. “For what?”
“I don’t know. He just said Zy wanted it. Did he call you?”
“No, he didn’t call. I wonder what could he have possibly want with me.”
“He probably wanted to curse your ass out for walking out on him at Olive Garden,” La-La said, laughing.
“Fuck him. We wasn’t on a damn date! I don’t even see why he came to sit with me.”
Heaven told La-La about Mark taking her to the trap house the night before and even about Tre texting her telling her that Mark wasn’t any good. Heaven kicked it at La-La’s house a little while longer before leaving.
At home Heaven showered and decided to study for her upcoming test. After studying for over two hours she was more than ready to go to bed. Once Heaven got comfortable in bed her phone went off. It was a text from the same number from the night before. She rolled her eyes upwards as she unlocked her phone. “Tre is working on my damn nerves,” she said out loud.
Unknown: Hey Miss Heaven.
Heaven: What do you want Tre?
Unknown: Will you stop calling me that pussy name!? You should never assume. If you don’t know then ask. That’s how you get yourself fucked up.
Heaven just looked at the phone. She knew it wasn’t Mark’s number and she hadn’t met anyone else. Her mind went back to La-La saying Zylen had asked for her number. “It can’t be,” she said out loud.
Heaven: Why are you playing games? Who is this??
Unknown: Zy!
Heaven: Oh. Why you didn’t say that? What’s up?
Unknown: I thought maybe La told you I had Ali to get the number for me.
Heaven: She did. Now what can I do for you?
Heaven waited for another text but Zylen called her instead. Heaven nervously answered the phone. She wished Zylen would just leave her alone and let her be. She was trying to move forward in life to better herself. She had finally got the idea of them being together out her head but he was slowly pulling her back.
Chapter 4
3 months later
Heaven was glad to have finished her first semester of school and have some free time on her hands. She and Zylen had become extremely close. Although they weren’t in a relationship, they were the best of friends. Heaven made it clear to him on more than one occasion that he wasn’t her type and she wasn’t checking for him anymore. Zylen knew his chance of being with her was out the door when she let him know that she was no longer into street niggas or
anyone that sold drugs.
“Zy, give me back my phone!” Heaven giggled as her and Zylen wrestled for her phone. He was threatening to text a guy she’d been seeing for the past two months. Heaven began to tickle him. One day when they were on the phone, he slipped up and told her that he was ticklish and she took fully advantage of that whenever she got a chance.
“Okay, okay…here,” Zylen said, handing her the phone.
“Thanks,” she smiled.
Heaven began texting her friend Tyrone back while Zylen walked to the kitchen to fix himself a drink. He hated when Heaven would text Tyrone in his face. She knew why Zylen went out the room. She didn’t understand why he always got upset when she mentioned Tyrone. It wasn’t like they were going to ever be a couple.
Zylen went to his bedroom instead of going back into the living room. After being gone for more than an hour Heaven knew Zylen wasn’t coming back. She walked upstairs to his bedroom, threw his phone on the bed, and walked off, not bothering to wake him up.
Walking up to Tyrone’s front door, Heaven rang the doorbell and within seconds he was opening the door. She and Tyrone met on campus one morning when she was running late and bumped into him. They two of them exchanged numbers and instantly clicked. Just like Heaven, Tyrone was all into getting his education. When she wasn’t chilling with Zylen she was more than likely with Tyrone. He was the perfect gentlemen. There had been many nights that they have slept in the same bed and he wouldn’t even try anything. He was almost too perfect.
“Hey, pretty.” Tyrone opened the door, hugging her.
Heaven spoke back before walking inside. Tyrone was watching a movie before Heaven got there so she sat down to join him. She didn’t even realize she’d fallen asleep on the movie until Tyrone was carrying her into his bedroom. Once he laid Heaven down gently on the bed, Heaven pulled him in for a kiss. Being that it had been over two years since she’d had sex, she was more than ready.
As Tyrone kissed down Heaven’s body hungrily, it scared her when Zylen invaded her mind. Heaven imagined it was him that was kissing on her body instead of Tyrone. Once Tyrone had Heaven’s jeans off and was kissing her inner thigh she let out a soft moan.
“Mmm, Zy,” she said. Her eyes popped open so fast and Tyrone was already staring up at her.
“What the fuck did you just call me?” Tyrone asked as he stared at her with fire in his eyes.
Heaven quickly scooted back, shaking her head. “I-I’m sorry, Tyrone,” she said, but Tyrone wasn’t trying to hear that shit.
“Nah, I know you didn’t call me that nigga’s name.”
Heaven jumped off the bed and began putting back on her jeans, not saying anything.
“I asked you time and time again was you fucking that nigga and your answer was always no,” Tyrone said angrily.
“I’m not fucking him, Zy…dammit, I mean Tyrone.” Heaven shook her head. She couldn’t understand why Zylen was heavy on her brain like that. Tyrone was so heated and wasn’t trying to hear shit Heaven had to say.
“Get the fuck outta my shit! You called me that nigga name not once, but twice. Since that nigga on your fucking brain that much, go be with him,” Tyrone said, damn near dragging Heaven out the door and throwing her purse out behind her. Heaven couldn’t be mad at anyone but herself. Inside her car she realized her phone was still inside so she hopped out and went back up to the door. Tyrone wouldn’t answer at first but he finally opened the door and tossed her phone out in the yard.
“Stupid bastard!” she yelled out as she looked for her phone, finding it only to see that the screen was cracked, badly. Heaven just shook her head, got back inside her car and headed home.

Zylen was posted up at La-La’s house, chilling with Ali and a couple of their other homies. They were sitting on the porch, smoking and shooting dice. Zylen hadn’t heard from Heaven in a couple of days and that wasn’t sitting well with him. He’d even driven past her house but each time her car wasn’t there. He called her phone only for the voicemail to come on and that worried him.
“Yo La, have you heard from your girl lately?” Zylen asked La-La as her, Kim, and Gina talked amongst themselves.
“Nah, I haven’t talked to her in a couple of days. Her phone been going to the voicemail. I called her mom phone but she said Heaven was asleep.”
Zylen nodded his head and continued shooting dice. La-La wished him and Heaven would stop fronting and be a couple already.
“Why he asking about her?” Kim whispered and La-La just shrugged her shoulders as if she didn’t know.
“There my bitch go right there!” La-La said happily. Gina and Kim exchanged looks as they rolled their eyes, not knowing La-La saw them. She made a mental note to check them about it later. Heaven walked up to the porch and took a seat. It was hard for Zylen to focus on the dice game while Heaven was sitting close by.
“Hey y’all,” Heaven said and everyone spoke back.
“Bitch, what’s wrong with your phone? Everybody has been trying to get in touch with you,” La-La said, smacking on gum.
Heaven rolled her eyes upwards recalling the night she called Tyrone Zylen’s name twice. “Tyrone broke my damn phone the other night and I’m just getting another one today.”
“Why?” they asked at the same time.
“We was about to…you know, and I called him…” Heaven mouthed out ‘Zy’s name.’ Her homegirls gasped and covered their mouths.
“You called him Zy?” Kim blurted out.
The whole porch got quiet and all eyes were on Heaven. She had never been so humiliated in her entire life. Zylen just sat there with a silly smirk on his face.
“Damn, big mouth!” La-La said as she hit Kim on the arm.
“My bad. Damn, y’all can continue y’all dice game,” Kim said to the guys.
“So that nigga spazzed out on your ass?” Gina asked.
Heaven nodded her head.
“Well did you get you some? I know it’s been forever since you had some dick,” La-La laughed.
“Damn, don’t tell everybody,” Heaven said, cutting her eyes as Zylen who was sitting there acting like he wasn’t paying any attention. Heaven kicked it with her girls until nightfall before heading home.
Zylen left La-La’s house before Heaven, but he was planning on making it back before she left. When he dropped Ali off and noticed Heaven’s car was gone, he headed to her house. When he pulled up all the lights were out so he sent Heaven a text telling her to come outside. He watched as a light came on and seconds later Heaven was coming out with some pajama pants, a tank top, and a scarf on her head. Zylen smiled. He thought Heaven was the most gorgeous woman he’d ever laid eyes on.
“You was in the bed already?” Zylen asked once Heaven was inside his car.
“I had just got out shower. What’s up?” Heaven was wondering what was so important that he couldn’t have said on the phone or in the text he’d sent.
“Nothing, I just wanted to see you before I went home,” Zylen answered honestly.
“Really, Zy? Why you playing games and shit?”
“I’m not, Heaven. You already know how I feel about you.” Zylen already knew Heaven didn’t feel the same about him anymore but that didn’t stop him from expressing how he felt about her every chance he got.
“Man, whatever Zy. I’m going back in the house because you playing and shit,” Heaven said as she reached for the handle to open the door, but Zy grabbed her arm stopping her. Once she turned to face him he pulled her in for a kiss. The kiss Zylen gave Heaven was like nothing she’d ever experienced in her life. It was so passionate and sincere that when he pulled back Heaven wished he wouldn’t have. As much as she tried to deny the way she felt about him, the chemistry between the two was undeniable.
“I-I gotta go,” said Heaven as she got out the car.
As Heaven laid in bed she couldn’t get Zylen off her mind. She wasn’t trying to be sucked back into the lifestyle she left behind, but Zylen was
n’t making it easy for her. He was bad news and Heaven already knew he wasn’t any good for her.
Zylen laid in bed with Heaven heavily on his mind. He hoped he didn’t push her away with the kiss he gave her hours before, but he just couldn’t help himself. All he wanted was for Heaven to give them a chance. Someone knocking on his door broke him out of his thoughts. Being that it was after one in the morning and no one knew where he rested his head but Heaven and Ali, he grabbed his tool, because they would have called before dropping by.
Zylen looked out the peephole before opening the door. Heaven stood there soaking wet from the rain, looking beautiful as always. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her passionately as he closed the door with his foot. Zylen began pulling her wet clothes off of her before picking her up carrying her up the stairs.
“Zy, I’m scared,” Heaven said softly as he placed her on the big king-sized bed.
“Baby, I promise I will never do anything to hurt you. I got you, Heaven!” Zylen said, looking her dead in the eyes, letting her know he meant every word. Heaven smiled as she leaned up and kissed his lips, believing every word he’d said.
Zylen removed Heaven’s bra, bringing her perky 34Cs together, he began sucking on her swollen nipples before flicking his tongue over them. Heaven closed her eyes and leaned her head back into the pillow. Zylen didn’t know it but that was Heaven’s spot and that alone had her ready to explode. Once he was done teasing her nipples, he placed soft kisses down her body and her inner thigh. Heaven began to breathe heavily just knowing what was coming next. Zylen ran his entire warm wet tongue over Heaven’s dripping wet pussy before flicking it over her clit. Unable to handle the good head she was receiving, Heaven was trying to break free of the hold Zylen had on her.
“Zy, please, please just wait,” begged Heaven as she continued to try to break free, but Zylen wasn’t stopping for shit. Heaven had never had anyone to make her body feel the way Zylen had it feeling at that very moment. “SHIT ZY, I’M ABOUT TO….CUM AGAIN…FUUUUCK,” she screamed as she came for the third time, and each time was better than the last.
Zylen looked up at her and smiled cockily as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. “You okay?” he asked as he covered Heaven’s body with his and kissed her forehead. She just nodded her head up and down.
