“I’m surprised you’re here without your sidekick,” said Heaven as she passed Hydeia to Gina.

“She is gorgeous, Heaven,” Gina said, taking the baby. “I’m gonna call Kim and tell her you’re here with the baby. I bet she comes then,” Gina said, taking out her phone. “We been calling you so we could see her but you never answer.”

Heaven didn’t say anything. She and La-La talked amongst themselves while Gina was on the phone with Kim. Gina did most of the listening while Kim talked. Heaven couldn’t help but notice the uneasy look on Gina’s face when she hung up with Kim and so did La-La.

“What in the hell is wrong with you?” asked La-La. Gina stood up to give Heaven back her baby.

“Nothing. Kim said she was busy but she would like to see her another day if you didn’t mind.”

“Kim knows I don’t mind if she sees my baby but all that shade throwing shit I’m not gonna let fly. I’m not pregnant anymore so it’s whatever,” Heaven said, looking Gina dead in the eyes, knowing she would relay the message.

Gina just nodded her head. “Well I’m about to head on home. La-La, I might stop by tomorrow maybe.”

“A’ight, that’s cool,” La-La replied. Once Gina was out the door La-La said to Heaven, “We gonna have to watch those two hos. I’m starting to get a bad vibe from them. You know Kim be on that sneaky shit and Gina follow the leader ass don’t have a mind of her own so you know she gonna do everything Kim does.”

“Yeah, I already know,” was all Heaven said as Zylen walked into the door with Ali right behind him.

“You ready to go?” asked Zylen

  “Yeah, I’m ready.”

“I have to drop you off and go handle some shit,” he let her know.

Once they arrived at their home and Zylen made sure his family was inside safely. He kissed his baby then Heaven and was out the door. He wanted to see what was so important that Tamar was blowing up his phone. He pulled up to her condo and exited his car.

“Man, what the fuck do you want, Ta?” he asked once she opened the door.

“Well hey to you too, Zy,” she moved to the side to let him in. “I just wanted to see you, that’s all.”

“If I don’t answer the phone then that means I can’t fucking talk. I told you that once. My girl don’t like that shit, you calling back to back like that. Plus I thought I told you don’t call my phone until you had the rest of my shit. I don’t know why you keep calling me for nothing,” Zylen fussed.

“Whatever, Zy. I don’t know why you’re acting like that. I don’t give a fuck what bitch you’re with, you know where home is.”

“Yeah, with my fiancée and my child!” he let her know.

Tamar rolled her eyes upwards. “Yeah right, nigga! I don’t give a fuck what bitch you’re fucking with. You still my nigga. Always have been and always will be. So you can run back to your home and tell that bitch that,” she said, emphasizing the word home. Zylen grabbed her around the neck so fast she didn’t know what hit her.

“Let this be the last time you call my girl a bitch,” he said to her. His face was so close to hers it was as if he was about to kiss her. Tamar stuck her tongue out and ran it across his full lips slowly and seductively, causing his dick to jump.

“You already know I like it rough and I’m not stopping until you give it to me,” she smiled.

Zylen covered her face with his hand and pushed her out his face, causing her to stumble backwards as he turned to walk away, shaking his head, ignoring her calling his name. He knew he had to stay away from Tamar before he got himself into trouble.

After dropping her baby off at her mother’s house, Heaven headed over to pick La-La up so they could head to the mall to find something to wear out that night. Neither one of them had been out in so long and were in need of a good time. Zylen had been on some sneaky shit that Heaven wasn’t feeling, but she wasn’t gonna call him out on it until she got to the bottom of it.

Inside the mall, Heaven and La-La were enjoying themselves when out of nowhere someone bumped into Heaven, causing her to nearly fall onto her ass.

“Damn bitch, I see you’re not familiar with the words excuse me, huh?” Heaven said.

“No, but I see you are and you’re excused,” the lady said smartly.

“Bitch, don’t get fucked up!” La-La jumped in.

“Yeah, whatever. Just tell your bitch ass homegirl to stay the fuck out my way,” the lady said to La-La while giving Heaven the evil eye before turning to walk away.

“Who the fuck you calling a bitch? And you bumped into me!” Heaven shouted.

“I’m calling you a bitch. Your mouth about to get your ass dragged in here.”

“I like to see that shit happen,” Heaven said as she walked up on the lady but was grabbed by a heavyset security guard that was standing nearby.

“Bitch, I’m back now and your time is limited. I guarantee you, you won’t be in the picture long. So have your little fun now!”

Heaven stood confused as the security snatched her up.

“Ma’am, I’m gonna have to escort the both of you out of here,” he said as another one grabbed La-La. The funny thing about it was, they weren’t even the ones to cause the argument.

“Get the fuck off of me! I can walk,” Heaven said as she snatched away.

“You better not let me catch you in the streets, bitch,” La-La shouted to the lady as they were being escorted off the premises.

To say Heaven was pissed would be an understatement.

  “You okay?” asked La-La.

“Yeah, I’m good. I wonder what that ho meant when she said she’s back and my time is limited.”

“Yeah, me too. What picture is she talking about you want be in for long, though? Her ass look familiar, too.”

“I was thinking the same thing. It’ll come to me soon,” Heaven said just as they were pulling up at La-La’s house. “I’ll be here to pick you up around ten,” Heaven said. La-La said okay and exited the car.

Heaven drove home with a lot on her mind. The lady from the mall kept invading her mind. She kept replaying her last comment. ‘Bitch I’m back now and your time is limited. I guarantee you, you won’t be in the picture long. So have your little fun now.” Something about that wasn’t sitting right with Heaven. The sound of Eve’s Gotta Man brought her out her thought.

“Hey, Zy,” she answered her phone nonchalantly.

“What’s wrong with you?” Zylen asked. He was so used to the chipper Heaven answering the phone.

“Just had a long day, that’s all. What’s up?”

  “Where you at?”

“Just pulled up at the house. What’s up?” she asked once again.

“Well I’m about to come home so we can talk about this long day you had. I don’t like the sadness in your voice that I’m hearing,” he let her know.

“Yeah, okay” Heaven said, hanging up the phone. She wasn’t mad at Zylen or anything; she just had to figure some things out.

  Chapter 11

Zylen took his cell from his ear and looked at it to find the main screen displaying that Heaven had hung up on him. He knew something was seriously wrong because she would never hang up without saying she loved him.

“Yo, I’ll holla at y’all niggas later,” he stated to his homies as he jumped in his ride and headed home.

When he got there he heard music playing upstairs so he headed up the stairs, taking two at a time. Turning the radio down, Zylen went into the bathroom where he heard the shower running. He opened the shower door, scaring Heaven.

“My bad, I didn’t mean to scare you,” he said looking at her wet body as if it was his first time seeing her naked.

“Uh, can I finish with my shower?” she asked smartly with her hand on her hip. Zylen smiled. He loved her feistiness.

“Yeah, I’ll be in the room,” he said, closing the door. Though he wanted to know what was troubling her, all that was on his mind after seeing her naked
body was sex. He took off his shirt and lit the already rolled Blunt that was behind his ear.

Heaven walked out the bathroom to find him lying on his back smoking a Blunt with his shirt off. She cleared her throat to make her presence known as she walked over to the dresser wrapped in a towel.

Zylen got up, put out his Blunt, walked over to her, and began kissing her on the neck. She turned around and looked him in his low eyes.

“So what was wrong with you earlier?” Zylen asked between kisses.

“I was about to beat some bitch ass today at the mall and something she said really got to me.”

“Boo, you don’t need to be out there fighting. You too cute and sophisticated for all that shit. Leave that up to your hoodrat ass homegirls.”

“Nah, that bitch started with me! Out of all the motherfuckers at the mall she picked me to start shit with. But that shit she said caught me off guard.”

“What was that?” Zylen asked as he began kissing on her neck again.

“In her words, ‘Bitch I’m back now and your time is limited. I guarantee you, you won’t be in the picture long. So have your little fun now.’ ”

  Zylen slowly released her.

“Damn! Do you know who she was?” he asked.

“The bitch looked familiar to me and La-La but it hasn’t come to us yet.”

“Well I have to go out and handle some shit. Y’all still going out tonight?” he asked as he grabbed his shirt off the bed and began putting it on then put on his hat.

“Yeah, when I get dress I’m going over to get her.”

Zylen grabbed his keys. “A’ight, I’ll see you when you get back,” he said as he exited the room before Heaven could even respond. Zylen knew who was behind that bullshit. He knew he was gonna have to off Tamar’s ass sooner or later.

“What the fuck is your problem, Tamar?” Zylen asked once Tamar opened her door.

She laughed. “So I guess your fiancée told you we ran into each other today.”

“You know, I don’t mind putting a bullet in you, Ta,” he let her know.

“Boy please, you not gonna do shit to your first love. But anyways, I can’t believe you about to marry the neighborhood ho,” Tamar said.

As soon as the words were out Tamar’s mouth she was on the floor from a powerful slap Zylen had just laid on her.

“I told you about that name calling shit!” he roared at her.

She was shocked that Zylen actually put his hands on her, and over another woman, at that. “I just don’t get you, Zy. I’m willing to make things right with us but you’d rather run around here with her when you know how she gets down,” Tamar said with tears in her eyes.

“And I know how you get down also. Yeah, she has a past but I can trust her and I know she won’t steal from a nigga. But too bad I can’t say that about you.”

“Okay and I’m paying you back your money and willing to earn your trust back. I’ll do whatever I have to do.”

“You can never earn that shit back.”

Tamar got off the floor and walked over to Zylen slowly. She ran her hands up his arms until they were around his neck. The whole time they stared each other directly in the eyes and neither one of them spoke a word.

“Zy, I fucked up and I know I was wrong for what I did. I thought about you the whole time I was gone but I’m back now and I’m never letting you go,” said Tamar.

Zylen bit down on his bottom lip and looked away from her. “I’m with Heaven now,” he said, still looking the other way.

It seems every time he was in Tamar’s presence old feelings would come out of nowhere. He was definitely torn between the two. His heart was with his Heaven Sent but Tamar still held a piece of it.

She turned his head around to her with one finger. “But who still holds the key to your heart?” she asked as she kissed his lips passionately.

Zylen didn’t pull away. In fact, he wrapped his arms around her waist and accepted her tongue. A few seconds into the kiss reality finally hit him in the face and he quickly pulled away.

“FUCK! I have to go, Ta,” he said as he rushed to the door.

“I love you, Zylen,” he heard Tamar whisper as he opened the door.

Zylen stopped dead in his tracks and turned to face her. “Tamar, please stay the fuck away from my fiancée. We have a good thing going so please don’t try to fuck that up because you’re miserable.” And with that Zylen walked out the door and headed home.

He had never been the one to cheat and he wasn’t gonna let Tamar come back into his life and make him out to be that guy. No matter how much he thought she still had a piece of his heart. Heaven had the majority of it and nothing or anyone was gonna come between that, so he thought.

  ********

  2 weeks later

The gang was all chilling at La-La’s house as usual. Heaven and La-La had just returned from taking Hydeia to Sunshine’s house when Kim and Gina walked up. Heaven hadn’t seen Kim since their mini argument and was pretty sure Gina told her what she said the last time she saw her. La-La stopped and talked to them in the yard while Heaven went on the porch and sat in Zylen’s lap. Shortly after, La-La, Kim, and Gina were walking on the porch.

Heaven and Kim didn’t share two words but other than that everything was going smoothly. Everyone was laughing, talking, and just enjoying each other’s company. But there was always someone out the bunch that would say something to kill the whole vibe.

“I saw Tamar the other day, Zy. I didn’t even know she was back in town,” Kim said out of nowhere, looking at Zylen with a smirk. Heaven felt Zylen’s body stiffen up.

“Tamar?” Heaven looked back at Zylen with a frown. “Your ex?”

La-La snapped her fingers. “That’s why that bitch looked familiar!”

“Exactly!” Heaven hopped off Zylen’s lap. She was about ready to go off in his shit. “This shit is making plenty of sense now. That’s why the ho said she’s back and I’m not gonna be in the picture long. So you been fucking with that bitch?” Heaven asked, mushing the side of his head. Zylen looked around at everyone as they sat quietly waiting for him to answer.

“Man, can we talk in private, Heaven?” he asked, grabbing her arm, escorting her off the porch. He didn’t even know why she was tripping. He told her about running into his ex so it wasn’t like she didn’t know.

Heaven looked around as she was walking off and noticed Kim smiling a little too hard, waiting impatiently for the drama to unfold. Drama was the shit she lived for.

“Da fuck you laughing at, bitch?” Heaven snapped on her.

“Heaven, don’t start that shit with me. Don’t get mad at me because I let it be known that your nigga’s bitch was back in town because he wasn’t man enough to tell you,” Kim said, laughing, like something was really funny. Heaven knew then that Kim mentioned her seeing Tamar to start some drama.

“So that was your reason for bringing her up because you don’t think he was man enough to tell me! He might not have mentioned the bitch name but he didn’t hide the fact that the ho was in town either. I’m ‘bout sick of your messy ass.”

“But you not gonna do shit about it!” Kim smartly stated with a smirk.

Heaven started over to her but was swept off her feet by Zylen. He carried her off the porch into the yard while Ali and Gina held Kim. Everyone else was standing around watching the drama and placing bets on who would win the fight between them.

“I’m sick of that messy ass bitch! Ever since I let it be known that we were together that ho been throwing shades like a motherfucker,” Heaven said to Zylen before turning to Kim, who was still on the porch. “Bitch, you don’t think the streets talk? I been hearing all the fucked up shit you been saying about mines and Zy’s relationship. But guess what ho, we’re still together so you and your sidekick ass homegirl can keep hating from the sideline.”

La-La made Fred and Gina take Kim home, as her and Heaven yelled and cursed at one another. La-La walked off the porch to try to c
alm her homegirl down but once Heaven was mad there was no calming her down. She turned to Zylen with fire in her eyes.

“So that’s the bitch you took to dinner? You knew it was her I was about to fight at the mall and you didn’t tell me?” she asked, slapping the shit out of him.

“Man, calm your little ass down,” Zylen said as he grabbing her wrists to keep her from hitting him again. Hitting her back was not an option, but he didn’t want her to put her hands on him either. He just wanted her to calm down.

“Let me go, Zylen!” she screamed dramatically. “And don’t tell me to calm down.”

“Okay, I will let you go but don’t hit me. It’s not even like that between me and Tamar, Heaven. We just went out that one time to take care of some unfinished business between us.”

“And the lying continues. Y’all only been out that one time but yet you comes home smelling like the same stinking ass fragrances more than once. Not to mention the late night phone calls you been receiving since you told me you ran into this ho. Fuck outta my face with that bullshit.” She turned to walk off but he stopped her.

“But Heaven, I swear—” he said but was cut off by Heaven holding up her hand to stop him.

“Save that shit. I’m gonna just pack my shit when I get to the house. I thought you was so different, Zylen” she said as she turned to walk off to her car with tears flowing down her face freely. She loved Zylen with all her heart but she would rather be a single mother than to be in a relationship with a lying, cheating dog.

  Chapter 12

Zylen raced home, trying to get there before Heaven. He knew all the shortcuts to his house so he was pretty sure he would beat her, but he didn’t know she knew an even shorter cut. When he pulled up she was already inside packing her things.

“Man, Heaven, can we talk about this? It’s not even what you’re thinking. I don’t want that fucking girl,” he tried pleading his case.

“I can’t tell with all this sneaking around you been doing lately,” she said as she continued to pack her bags.
