Crimson Footprints Page 29

by Shewanda Pugh

  Not yet, she thought.

  Not yet.

In your hands is the third edition of a book written many years ago, when I was a graduate student at Nova Southeastern University. The characters, scenes, and conflicts were, in part, developed while using my fellow peers as a sounding board. While I can’t thank them all by name here, they nonetheless have my gratitude. Similarly, Dr. Christine Jackson, my thesis adviser, met and fell in love with Tak and Deena when they were but an idea. I thank her for her guidance and tough talk. I thank my family for putting up with my writing quirks and insanity, my editor Stephanie Dagg, my cover designer Cassy Roop at Pink Ink and my best writing bud, Lashanta Charles. Without these people, this edition wouldn’t have been possible. Finally, I thank you, the reader. Your support keeps me going in good times and bad. You’ll never know how grateful I am to be living this dream.

Shewanda Pugh's a tomboy who's been writing romance since an inappropriate age. While she's been shortlisted for a few awards and snagged a bestsellers list or two, there's nothing she enjoys more than hearing from her readers.

In another life, she earned a BA from Alabama A&M University and an MA in Writing from Nova Southeastern University. Though a hardcore native of Boston, MA, she now lives in Miami, FL, where she sulks in the sunshine, guzzles coffee, and puzzles over her next novel.
