Mia's Blind Date Page 5

by Patrizia Murray

When Rob, Ava and Noah had graduated from college, Rob had accompanied his friends as they hunted for a house in the suburbs that would suit their growing family. It was a big old house with lots of castoff furniture from both sets of parents, intermingled with the kids’ toys and paraphernalia.

Rob had told Ava many times “I always feel at home in your house, and I even know where everything is kept in that big old-fashioned kitchen of yours.”

Noah said to his parents, “I hope the kids didn’t tire you out too much.”

“Oh, no” his mother said sweetly. “We just love to spoil them rotten and leave you to discipline them in the morning, just like our folks did to you when you were little.”

After Noah saw his parents off, he shouted from the door, “Rob and I are heading down to the corner store to get some more beer. Need anything more?” Receiving no answer, he and Rob left.

Mia and Ava made sandwiches. “It seems like ages since we had our hot dogs and the police confiscated all the beer—that’s a tragedy of major proportions.” Ava lamented.

“Now that the guys are gone, tell me, what do you think?” Ava asked.

Mia, busy slapping mayo on the sandwiches, absently asked “About what?”

Ava playfully punched Mia’s shoulder. “About Rob, of course, silly. I think he’s great, and you two look fab together. I saw him holding your hand at the police station,” she snickered.

“It’s nothing, Ava. He was just being a little protective. He didn’t want me to worry about getting in trouble with the cops.”

“Oh, yeah, that must be it,” Ava teased. “I saw you two gazing into each other’s eyes most of the night.”

“No you didn’t,” said Mia. “You saw stark fear in my eyes, once the cops showed up. What if they hadn’t let us go? None of us would have been able to go to work on Monday, and I for one, need my car payment and my rent money every month!”

“Well, I think he likes you,” persisted Ava. “Don’t write him off after this first ’disaster’ date.”

Mia conceded, “Rob seems nice, and he has that sexy voice that just runs icy fingers up and down my spine. I’m reserving judgment for another couple of dates though, till I get to know him a little better. After this absurd date, I’ll be lucky if he ever wants to see me again!”

When Noah and Rob returned, Ava made the decision they should all jump in the hot tub. “Remember our rule about no bathing suits.”

Ava and Noah had only one rule about their hot tub, and that was that no articles of clothing or bathing suits were allowed. Ava was so proud of the recent addition to their house. She and Noah had mapped out the plan and the tub was situated in a jungle of an atrium, on one side of the house. Ava had wanted to be able to see the stars and moon through the skylights and so she had created a romantic, sexy room, and Mia loved it, at least most of the time.

Mia was no prude, but she had only been in the hot tub nude when Noah wasn’t around, and it was just the girls who were naked. She had not prepared herself for parading around nude in front of two men, one who was married to her best friend, and the other an almost complete stranger. Mia hung out in the bedroom, wondering how she was going to handle being in the hot tub with her friends, never mind a man she had met only tonight, no matter how perfect a gentleman he had been all evening.

I need to get out of here, she thought, and she was just about to tell everyone she had changed her mind, when she heard a knock at the door.

“Who is it?” Mia called out.

“It’s Rob. I think I’d like to skip the hot tub, if you don’t mind,” he said through the door.

Oh, bless the man, thought Mia, “Yeah, I’m pretty tired too,” she gratefully agreed with him, picking up her purse and jacket. They both said a hasty good night to Ava and Noah, and beat a retreat out the door. Mia couldn’t hold back her laughter, and by the time Rob held the car door open for her, and she tumbled in, they were laughing like hyenas.

Rob was holding his sides and whooping so he couldn’t even drive for a few minutes. Through his laughter, he managed to gasp out, “After all the tension of meeting you for the first time after months of buildup from Noah and Ava, then getting arrested on our first date, honest to God, it all pales in comparison with the idea of getting naked in a hot tub with you and my best friends.

“Lady, I have to hand it to you. This has hands down been the strangest first date I’ve ever had,” Rob continued laughing.

Mia giggled, “It’s not just the weirdest first date I’ve ever had, but the weirdest date ever!”

“We didn’t get off to a world famous start, did we?” Rob asked, “I’d like to try a much tamer kind of date tomorrow night. How about dinner and a movie?”

By the time they reached Mia’s apartment, she had stopped laughing long enough to tell Rob “I swear that this date, even if we never saw each other again, will be a story I can tell to my children and grandchildren.” Rob whole-heartedly agreed with her.

Rob walked Mia to her door, and followed her into her little apartment. He didn’t venture any farther than the foyer, but as she turned toward him, he brushed her forehead with a whisper of a kiss. She swayed toward him, and lifted her face. He touched the corners of her mouth with his tongue and traced her lips. She opened her mouth and touched his lips with her tongue. The feather light kisses turned hot and insistent, as they groped each other in the dim hallway. Rob’s hands found themselves lifting Mia’s sweater to feel the weight of her breasts, and he was delighted to find they were all real, and heavy and full, just like he liked them. Mia moaned into his mouth, and pressed herself harder into his hands. She could feel his burgeoning hard-on, pressing into her stomach. Her hands fluttered around his face and tangled in his soft hair.

She wanted him, and the realization struck her hard, as she hadn’t expected to like him so much. Her nipples pebbled, and she felt an almost unbearable heat in her womb. Her legs wobbled like jelly, and she knew if they didn’t stop now, they wouldn’t stop at all. In the back of her mind, Mia had the fleeting thoughts, It’s way too soon for these feelings, and Holy Crap, what are we doing? and Maybe I should call a halt” but she was enjoying Rob’s hands and tongue far too much to stop.

They finally pulled apart, and she breathlessly put her thoughts into words, “We need to stop. It’s way too soon to feel this way.” Mia wasn’t even what the future might be for them, but she figured they were compatible enough so far to think about moving on to a much higher level at some point, just not tonight.

Since they had already agreed to another date, the very next night, Rob said “I’ll call you in the morning to figure out what we want to do. I can’t wait to see you again, and I sure don’t want to walk back down this lonely hallway to the elevator,” he breathed against her hair.

Rob reluctantly backed away from Mia. He could hardly turn his eyes away from her, and he had to force his feet to move. She held onto his hand as he opened the door. When he saw Mia haloed in the light, Rob stared at her. “I’ve never seen anything quite so beautiful as you, all mussed and freshly kissed, with your sexy red nails on the doorknob, and that fuzzy red sweater, that I can barely keep my hands off. I know I’m going to be dreaming about those red lips, when I take my cold shower at home.”

“You’re pretty difficult to keep my hands off too, and that’s why you have to go.” She was tempted to drag him back when she heard his words, but instead, she quietly closed the door, after she saw him get on the elevator, and dreamily walked into her bedroom.

Mia had no luck falling asleep. She tried reading, playing computer games, and doing ski exercises, none of which helped her sleep. Her thoughts kept returning to the kiss good night, his parting words, and how she felt about Rob. Was it possible to fall in love on a first date? After all the disastrous blind d
ates, and failed relationships she’d had, she was afraid to believe Rob could be different.

Of course, Mia had heard all about Rob for so long from Ava, that she felt she knew him much better than just a regular blind date. She even Googled him on her computer, and found only a couple of incomprehensible to Mia,—computer engineering papers he had written at university, a Facebook profile, and a list of his fellow grads from the university he had attended. Mia devoured the articles, searched the profile for extra clues to his personality, and giggled about his long haired photo with classmates. Only after bringing out the trusty vibrator was she able to climax and fall into a dreamless state.

  Chapter Six

Ava and Noah tried valiantly not to tell Mia and Rob “I told you so” over the next few weeks as Mia and Rob were inseparable.

“I just knew they’d hit it off,” she told Noah one night, as she and Noah decided the four of them should take a long weekend and go camping and hiking in the mountains. Ava’s folks were always up for babysitting, and the young babysitter they used quite often was always anxious to earn clothing money, so Ava and Noah managed to take many long hot summer nights away from the kids, and even days off from the city, and as Ava put it, “We can practice all we want for the next grandchild that the parents keep after us to have.”

The camping trip was difficult for Mia and Rob, as they tried to sleep in their tent, alert for the muted sounds of lovemaking from Noah and Ava’s tent. Rob had a raging hard on as he listened enviously to his friends making love, not fifteen feet away. He kissed and petted Mia, and cuddled to stay warm, but things never proceeded farther than touching. Rob was much more inhibited by hearing the activity from the other tent than he thought he would be.

“I didn’t think it would bother me as much as it does, having them carrying on so close by,” he said softly to Mia.

“Neither did I. It’s embarrassing, isn’t it?” she whispered back. “I never thought of myself actually doing it in front of anyone else. Did you?”

“No, I prefer my sexual romps to be a bit more private,” he conceded. ”If we’re really quiet, we can do a lot of touching.”

Oh, what touching! The nearness of Mia always made Rob feel like she was a glorious Christmas present he couldn’t wait to unwrap. Her earthy perfume overlaid with her unique Mia woman scent seemed to be always in his brain, and her satiny skin was so soft he wanted to touch her forever. I think I’m going to spontaneously combust if I can’t make love to her pretty soon, he thought.

Rob was driving himself crazy with wanting Mia. She’s different from all the rest. Here I am on to stage three, before I’ve even managed to get through stage two, and I’m actually thinking about stage four. What’s the matter with me? How can I ask her to make love, how can I tell her exactly how I feel, when I haven’t even told her about my grand plans yet? He was afraid to tell her, fearing she would not want to fit in with his immediate future. As for his far future, all he knew was he wanted her in it. Noah had been urging him to tell Mia of his plans for the fall, and had even threatened to tell Ava, who would immediately tell Mia, but so far, Noah hadn’t carried through with his threat.

Rob ran through scenario after scenario in his mind, as he tried to ignore Mia’s softness, and her clean, leafy forest shampoo smell, as well as the wet smell he recognized as aroused female. No, it wasn’t just aroused female, but aroused Mia. He sighed again, feeling her snuggle back into his raging hard-on. Somehow he made it through the night in the tent, and they hiked all day, trying to wear themselves out, so they might have a chance of sleeping that night. No matter how they exhausted themselves hiking though, sleep that night was a matter of napping and wishing and hoping for both of them.

Rob reached one hand around Mia to her breast and grazed her erect nipple. She sighed as he began to pull and roll the little bud between his thumb and forefinger, and so he continued with his other hand down to her wet panties. He caressed her mound and managed to push the elastic aside to part her lips and thrust two fingers inside her welcoming warmth. He began a lazy circling of her clit and was rewarded by a shiver. He spread his two fingers and began a rhythm that had her pushing frantically against both of his hands. He could feel her tensing, and suddenly her vagina spurted love juice all over his hand as she stiffened and moaned in an intense orgasm. How Rob wished it was his erect rod that her inner muscles were tightening upon.

After a while, when his arms threatened to go to sleep on him, he dared to move and turned Mia to face him. He smiled in the dark, and kissed her deeply. “Thank you,” he whispered.

“No, it’s me who should be thanking you,” Mia whispered back.

“Not at all. It was certainly my pleasure to please you.” Soon, despite his erection, he drifted off to sleep in Mia’s arms.

  * * * *

Mia looked forward to hearing Rob’s voice on the phone several times a week, and became quite comfortable spending all her weekends with him.

Someone had told Mia that you were finally a “real couple”, when you didn’t have to wait for him to call and make a date every weekend, you just assumed you would have a date together, and you made plans accordingly.

Mia realized one day she was head over heels in love with Rob. The feeling amazed her. She had thought she was in love with a boy back in high school, but those much younger feelings were nothing compared to the achy anticipation she felt every time she saw Rob. ‘Achy’ was the operative word here. Mia’s breasts ached, her skin tingled with wanting him, and her vagina clenched at least a dozen or more times a day. She had to try and concentrate on work while her body was betraying her in her daydreams of Rob, and she realized she was turned on most of the time, even when he wasn’t with her.

He was as sexy as his voice. He would kiss her silly, till her legs would hardly hold her up. She certainly wasn’t inexperienced, but Rob’s kisses were perfect in every way, warm, insistent and practiced.

He would start by nibbling her ear, and then move down across her jaw line with little butterfly kisses. Mia had heard of “The Butterfly”, which was a much discussed term for some part of lovemaking. It came from a popular TV show in which the male lead bragged about his prowess, stating that “The Butterfly” was the secret of his success with women. Unfortunately, the show never did tell what, exactly, “The Butterfly” was. Mia wondered if that was it. Those little fluttering kisses made her tingle all the way down to her belly, and beyond.

The kissing would then progress to little love bites on her lower lip, and chin, and his tongue would circle her lips and slowly begin the tantalizing journey into her eager mouth. He would stroke the roof of her mouth which should have tickled, like it did when she did that to herself, but when Rob did that, it seemed like there was a direct line to her groin. When he tasted under her tongue, she responded with a moan of pleasure.

Then he’d go back to more little butterfly kisses on her eyelids, eyebrows, and pulse points at her temples and the hollows of her throat. Mia wanted it all, she wanted more—more skin, more licking, more kissing, more…just more…more of him.

Mia would entice Rob back to her waiting mouth, by fluttering kisses around his eyes, ears and mouth, and biting his lower lip, and then sucking it into her mouth. She would run her hand up under his T-shirt, and circle a finger around his nipple. She knew his nipples responded much as hers did, and she elicited frustrated groans from Rob as she teased him.

They couldn’t keep their hands off each other. Mia was impressed with Rob’s erections, as she felt him with her hand through his jeans. He had rubbed against her hand, and had let his hands stray to her lovely breasts, feeling her heat through her own jeans. After all the fully clothed foreplay, Mia felt Rob was holding back once they made it to fully naked lovemaking. He would lick and suck her all over, but he tried to keep their lovemaking light and not give her anything of himself. He seemed so practiced, and he alwa
ys came, but although he seemed to want to do more for her. When Mia questioned him and tried to hold his trembling hand in place over her groin, wanting him to make love to her again, he always managed to find an excuse to go home, breaking the spell. Mia couldn’t understand why he always left her right after lovemaking. She longed to wake up next to him in the morning, and make love again, slowly and tenderly, before they were both fully awake. Mia was always left with the feeling Rob was escaping from her before he really faced what they seemed to be feeling for each other. Why? Maybe she was just going to have to ask him but she felt embarrassed. What if that was all he had to give? Would he hate her if she asked? Would he answer? Did he even know how far away from her he was distancing himself?

Mia was sure something was wrong. Why would he rush through lovemaking and then hightail it out of her apartment like his hair was on fire? Why had he never invited her to see his apartment? Was he ashamed of it? Or horror of horrors, was he married? No, surely not. Ava and Noah would know if he was married, wouldn’t they? Rob was distancing himself all right. The question was why? Most nights he wouldn’t even make love to her—just a few hot kisses, and then he was gone. Mia longed for him to give her all they both wanted and deserved. She was so frustrated he wouldn’t stay with her, especially when he could see she wanted him as much as he wanted her. She was sure he had to be resorting to cold showers and multiplication tables almost hourly. Surely any normal guy wouldn’t just pass up what she was offering?

Mia noticed that Rob changed the subject every time she talked about skiing. She had plans in her mind for cold days on the mountain, followed by warm nights by the fire making love with Rob. She was sure he was falling in love with her, just as she was with him, even if neither of them had ever said so.
