One Last Chance: A Sports Romance Page 4

by J. A. Collard

He breaks our kiss and looks down at me, panting. “Do you like that?” I bite down on my bottom lip and nod. “Say it, Chloe. Tell me you love how I feel.”

“I love it,” I reply and moan loudly as he rotates his pelvis against my most sensitive spot. My panties are soaked, and I hope to God I’m not drenching his jeans. He cocks a smile, then lifts onto his knees and reaches behind him, pulling his top over his head.

I place myself on my elbows as my eyes travel over his torso hungrily. His smooth tanned skin revealing muscles I never knew existed on a man. I run my palm over his chest, down the center between his pecs, then trace my fingertips over his muscled abs.

God, is that an eight pack? Sweet Jesus.

I spot the happy trail of hair as Domenic undoes the button of his jeans, revealing black boxers. His hands slide up the sides of my legs, and he lifts my dress higher, leaving me exposed to him. I quiver as his finger slowly slides up the inside of my thigh, and then his palm travels under my panties, cupping my pussy.

  “Fuck, Chloe, you’re so wet.”

I mewl and fall back onto the pillow as he massages my clit against his palm. “Does that feel good, baby?”

I can’t respond. I’m too lost with the exquisite feeling. I never knew it could feel like this. If I’d have known, I would have done this sooner.

  “Look at me, Chloe.”

My eyes flutter open, not realizing I had shut them. He stops his palm, and I can’t help but respond to his request, so I let out a huff. “Why did you stop?”

“I need you to tell me that this is what you want. Tell me, Chloe, tell me to stop now because I want you, and I’m going to take you unless you tell me no, right here and now. I shouldn’t be doing this, not if you’re tipsy.”

“I’m not drunk, Domenic. I may have had a couple of beers, but I know what I’m doing. I need you, I need us, right here, right now. I want you. I want this,” I say, pleading with him.

Staring into his green eyes, I lick my lips. “I don’t want you to stop, Domenic. Please, I want you,” I declare, making sure he heard me.

He smiles at me wolfishly. “That’s all I need to know.”

  CHLOE

  Present

“Tell me, Chloe, what happened between you and Domenic, the night of our graduation? I deserve to be told. I deserve to know why you left without a word.”

“Oh, Sophia, if only it were that easy to tell you,” I explain, cupping my coffee in my freezing- cold hands.

  “Look at me, Chloe.”

I look up into her eyes, her image blurry with my unshed tears.

“I know you slept with Domenic, Chlo. I’m not that stupid.”

I widen my eyes, shocked, and sit up straighter in my chair. “What? How?”

“Vixen Falls is a small town. Did you think Justin wouldn’t tell me? Geez,” she says sadly, sitting back against her chair. “When you left, I knew there was more to the story. I knew that something must have happened for you to leave without saying goodbye, and Domenic was acting all weird and stuff, so I turned to Justin. He couldn’t be one hundred percent sure, but he said he saw you leaving Domenic’s room early the next morning. It wasn’t hard to put two and two together with you leaving and Domenic not talking to me. I knew.”

“I don’t know what to say, Sophia… other than I’m so sorry.”

“Oh, please,” Sophia says, waving her hand. “You think I didn’t know you had a crush on Domenic all through high school?”

“What? You knew? Why didn’t you say anything?”

“Chloe, nearly every girl at Vixen High had a crush on Domenic. You were just another.”

“Oh,” I whisper, sinking into my seat and taking another sip of my coffee. “I’m sorry, Sophia. I should have told you. I shouldn’t have left like that.”

“What’s happened in the past is in the past. Was I hurt that you slept with Domenic?” she asks, looking out the window then back at me. “Yes, I was.” I hold my breath for what’s about to come out of her mouth next. “But, I think I was more hurt by the fact that you left without a goodbye.”

Tears slide down my face, and I quickly grab a napkin to wipe them away. Sniffling, I repeat, “I’m so sorry.”

“I know you are, and I forgive you.”

  “You do? You forgive me?”

“Domenic and I haven’t been together since then. So please, I forgive you. Our friendship is worth so much more than a stupid boy. It’s not as though I loved him.”

I still. “What? I thought you were crazy about him?”

She shrugs, taking another sip of her hot chocolate. “I was, I guess. But it was more that we just made sense. We were the golden couple… cheerleader and quarterback. Look, Chloe,” she says, holding my hand in hers. “You need to let it go. It was so long ago. All I know is I miss our friendship, and that means more to me than any boy ever could.”

Squeezing her hand, I reply, “Thank you, Sophia, you don’t know how much your words mean to me.”

  “Just promise me something, Chlo.”

  “Anything.”

“Promise me you won’t let a guy come between us again. Our friendship is more important than that. Plus, I have a new man in my life,” she explains, her eyebrows dancing.

“You do? Tell me. Who is he?”

“Nope, not until you explain what you’re doing back in Vixen Falls.”

“It’s work,” I reply. “Jim’s given me a project down here.”

“Really? What are you taking photographs of?”

I lift my mug to my lips again, not able to keep eye contact when I reply, “Vixen Rapids football team, Sleek Sports Magazine has asked for me to do the shoot.”

Nearly spilling her hot chocolate out of her mouth, Sophia laughs. “You’re kidding, right?”

Placing the mug back down on the table, my stomach drops. “No, I’m not.”

“Oh, Chloe, what are you going to do? You freaked out when you saw him today.”

I sit up straight. “Nothing. I’m a professional. I can do this without letting my past get in the way.”

“Chloe! You nearly died seeing him before. You need a plan.”

  “I do?”

“Hell, yes! How do you feel about him, Chloe? Do you still have feelings for him?”

Shaking my head, I quickly answer, “No, I don’t.”

“Don’t lie, it’s obvious you do. Why don’t you tell him how you feel?”

Widening my eyes, I respond, “No way, I can’t do that. The man hates me. Plus, he probably has a girlfriend.” I don’t tell her how I follow his every move on social media, and how all his photographs have a woman named Cassandra in them.

“You’re talking about Cassandra Miles, aren’t you?”

Glancing out the window, I reply, “Yeah, so, she’s his girlfriend, isn’t she?”

“She’s Cassandra Miles, Chloe. You know, Timothy Miles’ daughter. The owner of the Rapids team?”

“Yeah, so, what’s that got to do with it. He loves her. Well, it looks like he does from what I’ve seen.”

  “Mmm… not sure about that?”

My head snaps back to hers. “But they were only seen last week at some high-end party, and they were kissing.”

“Ah-ha, so you do follow him, then?”

“Maybe a little,” I admit, ducking behind my mug.

“Don’t always believe what you read, Chloe. From what I know, she’s a spoiled brat who has her daddy in the palm of her hand.”

Wanting desperately to change the subject, I ask, “Your turn. Who’s this guy you’re seeing?”

Her eyes twinkle at the mention of the guy, and she responds, “You’re not going to believe me when I tell you.”

  “Tell me,” I demand,

  “He’s in a biker club.”

  “A what?”

  “A biker club,” she repeats.

I know of a few biker clubs that drive through Vixen Falls, but only the Demons of Hell MC are in town.

&nb
sp; “Oh my God, the Demons of Hell? You’re dating someone from that club?” We all know the Demons of Hell MC and their President, Rage—he’s very attractive but scary as hell. We’ve heard stories about him that are not so nice, so I’ve always stayed clear of their MC, making sure I never had to go down to that part of town where their clubhouse is located.

Sophia shakes her head. “No, not someone from Demons of Hell.”

“Then who? What club? I thought they were the only MC here.”

  “They are.”

Sliding my coffee aside, I sit up. “Will you just tell me already? I need to know.”

She sighs, and a warm smile reaches her lips. “His name is Tracker.” Her eyes become all dreamy.

“Tracker? What sort of name is that?”

“Look, it’s a long story,” she says, playing with her spoon and circling it in her mug.

“So, give me the shortened version then.”

“Well, he was in town about a year ago. He was on his own and walking about Vixen Falls searching for his brother, Tate. I was grabbing lunch when he walked in wearing blue jeans and a leather jacket. He wasn’t in a biker club then, but he walked around the café with a picture in his hand, asking everyone if they had seen the man in the photo.”

  “Go on,” I encourage.

“Well, when he came over and asked me, I just stared at him. He was different, handsome, but in the bad-boy kind of way. His skin is a caramel brown, and his eyes are so green you could get lost in them for hours. And his eyelashes, oh my God, his eyelashes, they are dreamy. I literally can’t find the right words.”

I begin to laugh, loving the girl talk. God, I’ve missed this.

  “Then what happened?”

“Well, I asked him to join me for lunch.” She laughs, her thoughts go back to that day. “At first, he was caught off guard and said, “Lunch? Darlin’, I ain’t here for lunch.”

  “Well, I changed his mind.”

I rest my chin on my hand engrossed in her story. “And how may I ask did you do that?”

Smiling, she replies, “I have my ways.”

I laugh out loud, saying, “You are too much.”

She waves her hand around. “It worked, though. He had lunch with me, and I swear I don’t think I heard a thing he said. I was too busy entranced by his looks. You know, chiseled jaw, manly hands, and I swore I could make out a six-pack under his fitted white tee.

“So, is Tracker his real name?”

“No, it’s Ryan. When I met him, he went by Ryan, he was an FBI agent.”

I open my mouth in shock. “Wait! FBI agent? How the hell did he go from an FBI agent to a biker?”

She shrugs. “As I said, it’s a long story, but basically we’re dating now. Well, as much as we can date. He’s out in New York and part of the Blood Brothers MC. He comes out when he can, but it’s not enough,” she says sadly.

  “Can’t you go visit him?”

She takes another sip from her mug, and her eyes fill with sadness.

  “What is it, Sophia?”

She looks at me over the rim of her cup and replies, “He’s never asked me to come to New York.”

“What?” I say, surprised. “You’re kidding me?”

  “Nope, not kidding.”

  “Have you asked him why?”

“Not really. Every time I mention going to New York, he says he’s busy at the club and that he’ll come when he can. There’s a part of me that’s worried he has someone else.”

“Oh, Soph, I’m so sorry,” I say.

“It’s okay, I’m fine. He’s coming out next week. I was hoping you’d be here, so you can meet him, but I know you need to go back.”

“I’m sorry, Soph, but Jim needs me back at work as soon as possible.”

She smiles. “I know how much work means to you, so I get it. Well, at least you’re staying for the weekend, and we can catch up. I’ve really missed this.”

“I have too,” I admit. I look down at my watch. It’s getting late, and I need to prepare myself for my meeting with Tom from Sleek Sports Magazine. And as if right on cue, my phone rings, and it’s him calling.

“Excuse me one minute, I have to take this,” I state as I stand and head outside to speak in private.

  “Tom, how are you?”

“Hello, Chloe, you made it here safe and sound.”

“I did. I have been given details to meet you at your office tomorrow morning at nine.”

“Change of plans… do you think you can meet me out at the Rapids’ training ground?”

Oh, crap! My heart is pounding, and I feel like I’m going to faint. This means I’ll most likely bump into Domenic. Stuttering, I repeat, “Rapids’ training ground?”

“Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten the location already, Chloe?”

Kicking a loose rock on the ground, I reply, “No, I haven’t, I’ll be there.”

  Shit, shit, shit.

“Great, shall we say nine thirty?”

  “Sure, nine thirty sounds good.”

  “Oh, and Chloe?”

  “Ah, yes, Tom?”

“I’m so glad we’re going to be working with you. Coach Collins only agreed to this if I got the best, and just so you know, that is you. We’ve wanted to get a shot of the team for this magazine for a while now, so we’re happy the coach finally agreed.”

“Why, thank you, Tom, that’s really nice to hear.”

“I’m only speaking the truth. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

  “Okay, see you then.”

I hang up and stare at my phone for a while.

I’m going to see Domenic tomorrow.

I can do this, I’m a professional, plus so many years have passed. Surely, he’s not still angry with me. That is, even if he was in the first place. Maybe he was happy I left.

  Oh God, Chloe, stop this!

Walking back into the café, I don’t sit. “Hey, Soph, I really need to get back to the lodge. That was Tom from Sleek Sports Magazine confirming our meeting tomorrow. I need to prepare. Can we take a rain check?”

Sophia stands, placing her bag over her shoulder. “Sure. I’ll see you this weekend, right? Megan and I will come past the lodge on Saturday, say at seven? We’ll go out for dinner, then head to a club to get our dancing on.”

  “Sure, sounds good.”

I grab my bag from the chair and follow Sophia out the door. We hug, then I’m off walking back to Vixen Lodge.

I need to get my shit together.

  Now!

  CHLOE

  Past

Is this happening? I’m going to have sex for the first time? And with Domenic?

“That’s all I needed to know,” he says, and then he’s off the bed kicking off his jeans, and then he’s hooking his thumbs into the side of his boxes, sliding them down over his thighs. His large cock juts out proudly, and it’s hitting his navel. He stands there almost boastfully with his hands on his hips, his muscular thighs stand slightly apart, and he smiles when he sees my eyes are pinned to his manly part.

  “Like what you see?”

I nod because I simply can’t find any words. My mouth is literally drooling. I want to taste him on my tongue, I want to feel him on my lips and in my hand. I’ve never seen a penis before, well not in the flesh, that is. It looks angry with veins running through the base and a red cock-head.

Is this what it looks like when he’s turned on?

He walks slowly toward the bed and places his hands under my thighs, pulling me forward with my ass off the bed. “I can smell you, Chloe. Are you as hot for me as I am for you?”

Sweet Jesus, his words are orgasmic.

Domenic’s hands slide down my thighs, and he doesn’t take his eyes away from mine as his hands travel under my dress, and he removes my black lace panties from my body in swift time. He throws them to the floor, and now I’m fully exposed to him. I should be shy. I should be worried that I’m not what he expected, but right now, the way he’s looking at me with h
is eyes hooded in desire like he wants to devour me, all thoughts of panic fly out of the door.

“Look at you, Chloe,” he says, huskily, his thumbs opening my folds. “You’re so pink and swollen with need. I have to taste you. Can I taste you, Chloe?”

  Oh my God.

He’s going to put his mouth down there.

“Chloe, is it going to be a yes or no?”

  “Yes, God, yes,” I rasp.

“Good answer,” he says, smirking, before he falls to his knees, his eyes level with my pussy. “Look at you. You’re dripping with need, and I haven’t even touched you yet.”

I groan, whispering, “Please.” But not fully understanding what I’m pleading for.

“What do you want, baby? You want my tongue on you? Licking up all your juices? Sliding inside you and making you scream out your release?”

I squirm, wanting everything he’s just offered.

His thumb rotates around my clit, and I cry out at the sensitivity. “Tell me something, Chloe, has another man’s mouth ever touched you here?” he asks, just before his tongue rotates around my clit.

  Sweet Jesus, I can’t think

“Has another man ever done this to you?” He slowly enters his finger inside me while his tongue is still caressing my clit.

I moan out loud, my breathing turning heavier.

  “Chloe?”

  “No. Never.”

Domenic moans and devours me, his tongue growing rougher as he licks me from my entrance up to my clit. He sucks it in his mouth and releases it with a pop. “Fuck, you taste amazing.”

He looks up at me through my open thighs as he continues to lick between my folds, his finger moves faster causing me to tilt my pelvis up in the air. My hands move to my hair, and I arch my back as a rush travels through my body. He continues to pump his finger in and out in a mind-blowing rhythm, all the while his mouth takes me whole.

“Oh my God, what’s happening?” I moan, panting as I feel heat burn within.
