  Ellie ran out of witty comebacks and bellowed, “I hate you! I hope I never see you again.”

  “Oh, Ellie, don’t be like that. I’ll see you from the witness stand. You’ll barely have time to miss me,” Rainey responded with a laugh. She put her arm around Katie, and called over her shoulder as they exited, “Be sure to soak up this last bit of sun, before you leave. I believe the forecast at home is cold and rainy.”
