“You answered without even looking.”
“I know those two. They can’t keep their hands off each other and they have a reputation for sneaking off and getting it on.”
“I heard about Hunter and Sarah’s wedding.”
“One of many times.”
I laughed. Half in amusement. Half in disbelief.
“This is a thing for them?” I asked.
“Yeah, but I wouldn’t say it’s a planned thing. It’s not like if they know they are going to be someplace they start thinking about where they can go and do it. It’s more that they get caught up in the moment.”
The conversation I had with Sarah about her getting turned on by the thrill of getting caught played in my head. I wondered if the same was true for them too. I’m pretty sure I was lost in thought for longer than I should have been. Jace’s sudden change of topics pulled me out of my thoughts.
“Come with me. Let’s go take a walk around the grounds.” He grabbed my hand and pulled me toward the door.
Chapter Eighteen
Jace
There was interest in Madison’s eyes. She was intrigued by the thought of sneaking off and having sex. We went out the back door and walked through the gardens. It was a beautiful warm night. Certainly, warm enough to be comfortable while partly undressed. I held her hand as we walked the winding path. People had been sitting outside closer to the building, but as we walked further out, we were alone. Alone, yet spotted easily enough if someone was looking. I spotted a large arbor with assorted seating underneath. The arbor itself wasn’t lit, but there was lighting in the surrounding shrubbery making it easy enough to see. There was enough coverage that you couldn’t see the moon and the stars, but otherwise it was perfect. I led her over to a cushioned love seat and motioned for her to sit down.
“It’s beautiful out here, Jace.”
“Mmmhmmm…” But I didn’t take in the view of the grounds. I moved close and pushed her hair behind her shoulder. I nipped at her ear, working my way down the side of her throat.
“Jace.”
Fuck, I loved how she moaned my name. My hand worked at the top of her dress. I caressed her tit, freeing it from her clothing. She started to tense a little, so I upped the ante and took her breast in my mouth, first teasing her, then sucking hard. The change in her body, the way she began to writhe and pull me harder against her, the fucking beautiful sounds of moans made me rock hard.
“Good, baby?”
“Yes,” she said breathlessly.
Her hips lifted and she rubbed against me. Not a calculated move. It was out of instinct. Out of intense need.
I pulled at the bottom of her dress so I could trail my finger up her inner thigh. Higher and higher until I reached the juncture of her thighs. I teased her over her panties. Her clit was hard and swollen. The scent of her desire was an aphrodisiac. I went back to sucking on her breast while I pushed her panties to the side and started working her with my fingers without the fabric barrier. Her body arched. Her groans grew louder. I needed to taste her. Make her come on my face. When I pulled away to get down on my knees, she opened her eyes and looked at me. The spell passion had put on her momentarily broken, she glanced towards the building. As I knelt on the ground before her and tugged her legs, she knew what was on my mind.
“Jace.” Just my name. She let her tone and the way her eyes lifted to look to the other side of the gardens speak for her.
“I need to taste you, Madison. I need to feel you come on my face.”
She groaned. Even though she spoke to protest, her legs were spreading open for me.
“Someone might see us.”
“They might. Don’t you want them to know how badly I want to pleasure you?” I kissed the inside of one thigh, then the other. “How badly I need you?” I trailed one finger lightly up the inside of her leg, stopping at the apex of her thigh. “That you’re mine?” I pushed against her clit with my thumb and moved it in slow circles. “I do. I want them all to know you’re mine.”
“Jace,” she panted.
“The idea intrigues you. Excites you. Doesn’t it?”
“Yes,” she whispered.
I’d give her a chance to change her mind. “So, do you want to feel my tongue on you, or would you rather go back inside?”
She didn’t say a word. She just put her hand on the back of my head and pulled me in closer to her.
I put my hands under her ass and brought her closer to the edge of the seat.
“Lift up, baby.”
She did and I pulled her panties off and put them in my pocket. I pushed her dress up to her waist so I could see her. I looked up and saw the desire on her face. She was so fucking beautiful. I winked at her then kissed her clit. I licked her up and down before I brought my tongue to her clit and started working her in the way I knew she liked. I felt her body twitch at the first contact.
I looked up to make sure she wasn’t distracted by the thought of someone finding us. She wasn’t. Her head rested on the back of the seat and her eyes were closed. Her lips parted as she sucked in a breath. She brought her hand down to my head and tangled her fingers through my hair as I sucked on her clit.
She was close. I could tell by the rate of her breathing, by the moans escaping from her lips. I moved one hand up to play with her breast. I pinched her nipple and she let out a gasp.
I looked up again. Her faced was flushed. She opened her eyes and looked at me.
I lifted my head long enough to instruct her.
“Keep looking at me.”
The intense desire that flashed in her eyes set me on fire. I kept my gaze on hers as I continued to lick her pussy. The eye contact did it for her because she went over the edge. She called out my name loud enough that anyone who was outside would have definitely heard her. I didn’t stop until I felt her body twitch and she started to pull my head away.
I thought she might let her nerves get the better of her, but I was happily proven wrong. She grabbed me by my shirt.
“Fuck me, Jace.”
She started to move back on the seat, but I stopped her.
“Hold on.” I got up off the ground and moved to sit on the love seat. I unfastened and unzippered my pants and then pulled them and my boxer briefs to my knees. “Climb on top of me, baby.”
She climbed over me and straddled my legs. Her hand went to my cock and she held it as she guided herself onto it and then sunk down hard. The action took her breath away. Fuck, it felt so good to be inside her. Skin to skin.
I pulled her dress up and grabbed her ass in my hands. Madison changed up her rhythm and swiveled her hips. I thought I was going to come right then and there. I wanted her to come first.
I licked around her nipple and then sucked on it hard just the way she liked it.
Her contradictory words came out in a rush.
“Fuck, Jace! It feels so good. I don’t want it to ever stop. I need to feel you come inside me.”
I gripped her ass harder and started pumping my hips hard. She stopped her motion and let me take over. I felt her pussy tighten around me as she called out with pleasure. I moved faster. Harder.
I called out her name as I came. My motion slowed, but I didn’t stop until I had filled her with every drop.
Madison collapsed against me. When our breathing had slowed down to normal, I lifted her face and kissed her. I sat there with her in my arms. Her gown still around her waist. Her breasts spilling out over the top. My pants still around my knees. I had no inclination to move. I’d die a happy man if I did nothing but stay that way forever.
I don’t know how long we sat like that when she broke the silence.
“I guess we should be getting back inside.”
I groaned. “I guess.”
I helped her up and fixed her dress. She was looking around for her panties.
“They’re in my pocket.”
She raised her eyebrows in question.
“They’re staying there,” I said with
a smile.
Once I put myself back together I tried to help her with her hair. It was no where near perfect, but I thought I did an okay job.
“We’re not going to be fooling anyone, are we?” She asked.
“About as much as Morgan and Julia did, I’d say.”
When we got back inside, we passed the bar on the way to the table. Morgan was standing at the bar thanking someone who looked like they were leaving.
He smiled at Madison who excused herself to go to the restroom. Morgan waited until Madison was out of eye and ear shot and smirked at me. I had the strong suspicion this went beyond Madison and I walking in looking like we had just been fucking.
He quirked an eyebrow at me. I quirked one back at him. He chuckled.
“I’m glad Madison looks so happy. You must be doing a good job.” He didn’t even try to suppress the laughter that bubbled up.
“Haven’t had any complaints,” I laughed. “Thanks for what you said to Madison earlier.”
“She told you?” he asked me.
“No, but I can figure it out.”
“Just keep showing her that she’s worth it.”
I nodded my head. “She is.”
“I know. She’s on the way back from the bathroom,” he warned.
“You guys didn’t make it back to the table yet?” Madison asked us.
“We thought we’d wait for you to come back. I should stop at the dance floor along the way to save my wife from Kyle.”
Morgan headed toward Julia and Kyle and Madison took my hand and started to walk back to the table. I tugged on her and pulled her back.
“Will you stay with me tonight. I want to make love to you all night long. I want to hold you and wake up next to you in the morning.”
She smiled and kissed me on the lips. “Yes.”
Chapter Nineteen
Jace
I tapped my hand impatiently on the steering wheel while I waited for the light to change. I replayed the conversation I had on the phone with Morgan. He asked me to come over. He said he needed me right away and that it was important. It wasn’t even the words themselves that had me tied up in knots. It was the tone of his voice. I’d known the man for most of my life. I’d seen him angry. I’d seen him devastated when his mother died. I’d seen him in pain and lost when he broke up with Julia. But, I’d never heard him the way he was on the phone. I didn’t recognize that tone of voice. What I did pick up on a little was fear. I was out the door before we finished the call.
When I got to his house, I jumped out of the truck just as soon as I put it in park. I slammed the door and hurried up the walkway. Morgan opened the door before I could even ring the bell. Fear and worry were written all over his face. Shit.
“Thanks for coming.”
“Absolutely. What the fuck is going on, Morgan?”
“Come on in. It’ll be easier for me if I only have to do this once.”
Do what once? Who else—
Hunter and Kyle were already sitting in the living room. Hunter’s expression was very similar to Morgan’s. Sarah was going out the back door with the kids and the puppy. And Julia…she was damn near shaking. What the ever loving fuck? I heard another car pull to a stop and a car door slam. I would have bet my life it was Trey. Sure enough, when Morgan opened the door, Trey was on the other side.
“I got here as soon as I could.”
“Thanks. Just glad you’re here,” Morgan said.
Julia was pacing now. She was biting her thumb knuckle and looking out the back door.
“Do you think they will be okay out there, Morgan?”
Christ, she had tears welling up in her eyes.
“They’ll be fine out there.”
But I didn’t see confidence in his expression. I could tell he was just trying to pull Julia back from the ledge.
Trey looked at me with the same question in his eyes that I had in mine. I shook my head and shrugged my shoulders to let him know I was just as in the dark as he was.
Kyle stood up. “Come here, kiddo.” He hugged Julia. “I’ll go outside. Hunter filled me in already.” Kyle looked back over to Morgan. “Whatever you need, man.”
Morgan nodded. After Kyle went outside and closed the door behind him, Morgan spoke.
“Look, I’m just going to come right out and say this. There is someone threatening Jules.”
“Threatening her? Like some psycho obsessed fan?” Trey’s posture was already tense when he walked through the door, but he was on high alert now.
“It doesn’t seem to be a fan with some romantic or sexual interest.” Julia faltered over her words. “It’s more likely someone I gave advice to and it didn’t go well for them. Or I gave advice to someone and this person was on the losing end of it.”
“Wait. You knew this when I came to talk to you about Madison’s kids. That’s what was upsetting you. You told me someone was unhappy with some advice you gave.”
She nodded her head and looked down at her feet. When she looked back up at me, she had tears rolling down her cheeks.
“Yes. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you the whole truth, Jace. It just started as a random text. At first I thought it was a wrong number. Then it was obvious they knew it was me, but I don’t know, I still just thought it would blow over. I didn’t want to worry everyone. But, then it really started to escalate, and it was obvious there was a problem.”
I was angry. At that son of a bitch threatening her, but more at myself. I was so wrapped up in my own crap that day that I ignored my instincts. Maybe it wouldn’t have gotten to the point it was. As I thought about it, I realized there were more days that she seemed off. I’d seen it and ignored it. I was too wrapped up in my own problems.
“Listen to me, sweetheart. You have nothing to apologize for. Don’t even worry about that.” I tried to console her.
“Has law enforcement been notified? Is the studio aware?” Trey was asking the questions I should have been asking. I needed to get a grip. Focus on the situation at hand. Keep her safe.
Hunter spoke up while Morgan was comforting Julia. “Yes, they are both aware. The studio is providing extra security. There are patrol cars making extra passes around the house. Morgan and I were thinking of hiring a security firm to investigate this.”
“You’re not hiring anyone. You’ve got us.” I was confident Trey would agree with me and when I looked at him he was nodding his head.
“Jace and I can handle this.”
“There’s another thing. I need to leave in a couple of days for business. I’ll be gone a week. I was going to call it off, but Jules is insisting I go.”
“It’s not only a contract thing, Morgan, it’s a tech thing. That’s your world. Hunter can’t cover for you with that. This account is too important for TechStone for you not to go.”
“But until Jace and Trey figure this out, until we know whether this is someone who is just being brave behind a keyboard, or a more serious threat, I am not leaving you and the kids here alone.”
“They won’t be alone. We can take turns staying here while you’re away.”
I nodded in agreement with Trey. “We can rearrange our schedules at the gym so one of us can be with them twenty-four seven.”
“While we are here, we can assess how secure it is. Look for any weak points. Update your system. We can even vet some bodyguards in case it gets to the point you need protection for an extended period.” Trey turned his attention to me. “You have a gun and you’re licensed to carry, right?”
I nodded. “I’m good.”
Julia put her hand against her forehead and then ran it through her hair. She looked at Morgan. “I can’t believe they’re standing here in my living room talking about needing guns. How is this happening?”
“I understand it’s unnerving and surreal. It’s a lot to take in. That’s why we’re letting the experts handle it. I’ll buy them a fucking armory if it keeps you safe, Jules.”
“While Morgan is gone, if there is a
nything that needs to be bought to protect Julia and the kids, let me know.”
“Hunter, I’m a full grown woman who is capable of handling finances.”
“I know you are. I didn’t mean it that way. But, I am hiring Jace and Trey instead of a security firm, so everything that needs to be paid for, including their salaries, will be paid for by me.”
“Hunter, this is family. You are not paying me.” I didn’t want to speak for Trey.
“He’s right. We can let you know about anything that needs to be bought, but you don’t need to pay us.”
“I do. It’s my sister being threatened. That scares the life out of me, and I am feeling pretty damn helpless right now. Hiring you makes me feel like I am doing something to help. Either you take the money, or you get some ridiculous raise at Stepping Stone.”
Trey and I both nodded our heads. It would be a waste of time to argue with Hunter and we both knew it. Besides, our time was better served getting to work.
“You should fill us in on everything you told the police. And if there is anything you didn’t tell the police.” Trey got right down to business.
Julia looked at Trey. “I didn’t hold anything back from the police.”
“Not intentionally, but there may have been some things that you didn’t even connect to this. Why don’t you sit down so we can ask you some questions?” Trey motioned to the loveseat.
“This is going to take some time, isn’t it?” Julia asked nervously.
“It may, sweetheart. But we’re here for however long it takes.” I tried to make my voice as soothing as possible.
“Well then you will all need to eat. I need to feed you. How about pizza? Crap, can I even have pizza delivered?” Her eyes went wide as she looked back and forth between me and Trey. I’d never seen her so unraveled.
“You order what you want, Julia. I will go and pick it up.”
Julia nodded at Hunter. He understood her need to have some kind of control. If the only control he could give her at the moment was ordering food, he’d give her that.
Morgan waited until Julia went to the kitchen before speaking. “I’m not only afraid of leaving her alone because I’m afraid of something happening to her. She’s a nervous wreck. This is not like her. I’m afraid of her having a breakdown if she’s here alone. She’s trying to hold it together for the sake of the kids, but how long can that last?” Morgan shook his head before continuing. “She feels guilty. Responsible. Because she blew off the first few texts.”
