Twilight Midnight Sun: Edward's version of The Twilight Saga Page 15

Farse, Pain, and Panic left and went back to where they came from.

  Bellduh looked at me disappointed.

“Sorry, Bellduh. If I didn’t say all those things, you and I would be in the circus freak show right now. They would make fun of me and send you to be humiliated by other Voltweety. I don’t think you want that, do you?”

“That’s ok, Edworth. I totally understand. You had to do what was needed, and you stepped up to the plate. I’m proud of you.”

“Well, I just don’t know if I’m ready to be a junkie like you. If it means keeping you forever, I guess I have to do what I have to do then.”

“We have seen many weird things lately. It’s only going to get more bizarre. I hope you don’t mind,” I said.

“I’m glad we’re together. Gees, what was up with those weird pink outfits the Voltweety were wearing?” Bellduh asked.

“They really need to get with the fashion program; I wouldn’t mind trying on one of those leotards.”

“You should give them some tips on fashion, Edworth. They were dressed so cheesy.”

“Yes, I should do that. I should take them out shopping. They could use some new threads. That would be something to talk about. I hope we never have to dress like that. They are like so not cool, and I feel bad for Farse. He really sucks.”

“What is up with their funny names? They must hate their own names. Their parent must have hated them.”

Farse, Pain, and Panic are a mystery, Bellduh. Their parents must have been reading a little too many comic books. Maybe they were trying to start some trend in that junkie thing of theirs. It’s very cheesy indeed.”

  “So, now what, Edworth?”

“I really want to open up to you, Bellduh, in more ways than one. There is just no other way. I hope you can understand how I feel. It hurts so much. I can’t get you out of my head, Bellduh. It hurts when I’m away from you. I can stand being without you.”

“I’m here, Edworth. That’s all that matters.”

I go closer and kiss Bellduh passionately.

“Well, I just wanted to tell you something, Bellduh. We have been like really close lately. I just think that it’s time that we connect even more.”

I had no idea what I was going to tell Bellduh. Things were so unpredictable. I wondered if she really loved a junkie like me. I wondered if she really would have joined me in becoming a junkie. I wondered all sorts of things.

“Edworth, stop teasing me and just say what you want. I really need to hear it. Stop being a douchebag and tell me. Be a junkie!”

I smiled and came right up close to Bellduh and looked deep into her eyes as she looked up at me into my dreamy eyes.

I took her hands with my cold hands, and they were cold since the weather was chilly. I couldn’t believe that it was happening. I pulled out a small, cute decorated shoebox. I opened it up, and I showed Bellduh a beautiful, cuddly, teddy bear. I got on my knees as Bellduh looked directly into my eyes and smiled. I was so nervous. For some strange reason, I felt like I was dreaming. It was really happening, and life was beautiful. I could smell Bellduh’s sweet blood calling my name. I waited nervously to say my next words. I raised the teddy bear to Bellduh…

“Bellduh Swansinner, will you be a junkie like me?”

Bellduh’s mouth dropped… as I stared deeply—into Bellduh’s beautiful witch eyes. Everything was perfect. She stood frozen for several seconds. She didn’t say a word...
