It wasn’t right. Wayne didn’t deserve to die that way.
But he was gone.
Forever.
As she pushed forward, one step at a time, Andrea suddenly realized what was different about this tunnel. It was the air. She no longer felt that too-familiar, closed-in feeling that had pervaded those narrow passageways for the past several hours.
They were no longer in the labyrinth. They were somewhere else now.
But she was far too weary and too sad to even wonder about where they were.
Tears fell onto the cold, stone floor as the five of them walked on into the unfeeling darkness.
