The Lunar Child: The Elemental Wolves Page 18

by M. D. Butler

Father made me wait all of these years just for him to allow her to leave. She was taken away from me, and that just won’t do. He made a promise that she would be mine, and you don’t break a promise to your child. I’m an alpha. I always get what I fucking want. I want Jahla.

  And now I have her.

I glance in the backseat of the rental at her sleeping form. I made sure to buckle her in once I placed her in the car that I’d hidden a couple of miles from their raggedy ass compound.

I don’t want her to get hurt. I didn’t go through all of this trouble just for her to become damaged goods. I’m already going to have to do something about her smell. I’ve been breathing through my mouth so it isn’t so bad, but it’s still overwhelming. The smile drops from my face as I, again, think about what it means.

  Those bastards mated her.

Not only did they take what was mine, but they stick they disgusting pencil dicks in her. My wolf gives a territorial growl when I let the thoughts overtake me.

I shake them away, and focus back on the road. I won’t be able to do anything until I get to the cabin on the mountain back home. Hell, I’ll carve the fucking mark from her body if I have to.

She belongs to no one, but me.

  About the Author

  M. D. Butler is a military spouse who also serves in the United States Navy Reserves. She has four wild daughters who each have a piece of her crazy personality and attitude. Yikes! Living in a house with four little girls inspired her to write books with strong female characters who have the sass and strength of her own girls, despite whatever has happened to them in life. She writes stories that she dreams up when she can't find a book that has the characteristics that she's craving at that moment. Being in the military has given her a bit of a sailor's mouth and a dry humor, so don't pick up her books if you're opposed to cursing or mildly offensive dialogue! She's also a realist who understands that sex and passion are normal aspects of a relationship. Might have to look out for that, too!
