Punishment (Light My Fire Series Book #2) Page 6

“Hell yeah, I wanna play. I believe there’s room for two more tonight. Oh, and here,” he handed her a card. “Give me a call when you’re ready to play within my pockets,” he winked.

“Sure will,” she whispered smoothly within his ear.

We waltzed within the club as if we were movie stars. It was fucking exhilarating. I felt like I had an adrenaline high.

“That – was fucking awesome!” I screamed as loud as I could over the music.

“It’s amazing what a little bit of money, tits, and a sexy voice can do to a man,” Roxy laughed.

“Let’s do this!” I shouted my arms in the air.

The music surrounded us. The beats pumped within our veins, as the lights partly blinded us in a way. The club was packed. Hundreds of men and woman all wore what looked like reading glasses as they danced, and drank and laughed.

“Hey, where do you think we get those glasses?” I asked Roxy as close to her ear as I could get.

“Probably the bar or something. Let’s check it out,” she shrugged.

Our bodies swayed back and forth to the music as we made our way to the bar. Damn was it nice. There must have been a hundred bottles all lined up within the shelves. The antique framed mirror behind it made everything stand out and shimmer.

Of course the bar was packed. Four bartenders moved quickly behind the scene to pour out multiple drinks at once. The talent behind their hands was intriguing to watch. I never really took interest into the art of making a drink, but watching these four it was as if you were a part of a show. Bottles flung above their heads, behind their backs and in front of our faces like a circus act. We all stared flabbergasted by their motions.

“Well, hello ladies,” the youngest looking one paid mind to our arrival, all the while still flipping bottles midair.

“Hi,” Roxy smiled back. Always the flirter she was. But, hey, it seemed to get us what we needed each time, so I just sat back and let her do what she did best.

Six people stood in front of us waiting, but Roxy once again got us to the head of the line. Her smile was compelling and irresistible and the bartender had taken an interest in her.

“So,” he finished his drinks and gave Roxy one on one attention, “what can I get for you Miss-“

  “Roxy,” she finished for him.

“Ah, Roxy. Sexy name,” he winked.

“How about two watermelon martinis, made with love,” she winked, “and your phone number?”

“Well aren’t we the forward one? I liked it. Coming right up, miss.”

Their eyes stayed locked on one another for a moment before she turned to look back at me.

“Wow, you are killer girl. You’re nailing these guys left and right.”

“Well, hopefully one of them will be nailing me later,” she batted her eyes at me.

What kind of comment do you say after that? I was speechless. Well, not really, I just left it at that. She had some healing to do as well after her douchebag ex, so why not let sex heal her like it did me.

“Speaking of nailing, girl, we have so much to talk about!”

“Oh really? Spill! I wanna hear everything, anything, whatever you have!”

“Wow, I’ve never seen you so excited Rox.”

“Eh, I’m so over hearing bullshit, it will be nice to hear something exciting, especially from my best friend.” She grabbed me by the shoulders and pulled me in.

“Here you go ladies, two watermelon maritinis, made with love of course,” the bartender smirked, “and my number. I expect to hear from you.” His voice was deep and fucking sexy. If I wasn’t into the Captain, I wouldn’t mind giving him my phone number as well.

“Oh, you’ll hear from me, baby. Trust me,” her smile shined bright against the lights within the club. Roxy was definitely a catch. She was witty and beautiful and damn did she have one sexy ass body. Her tits begged for attention in her almost completely exposed halter top. Mine, looked like they begged for a push up bra. Sure, I had ample cleavage, but nothing compared to hers. She could be picked out at the other end of the club just from her rack.

“Come on, girl. Let’s sit for a sec before we get our groove on.”

We cased the club for somewhere to relax. A circular booth remained empty so we scurried to occupy it as quickly as we could.

“So, tell me, what’s going on with you Nix? I’ve never seen you glow like this so much before. Who is he?” Roxy held my hand as she looked to me and smiled wide. She was truly happy for my happiness. It was reassuring to see.

  “Well-“

I told her everything; about Blaine and Johnson and Captain Michaels choice. I wasn’t sure how she was going to take it. Her expressions mocked mine however. From disgusted and pissed off, to turned on and wanting more. She was my soul sister for sure.

“So, he just bent you over his desk and fucked the shit out of you?” Her face was shocked, yet she still held a cunny smirk upon it. “You hate doggie style. Damn, this guy must be fucking special.” She lightly tapped my shoulder as if she understood everything.

“Yeah, he’s definitely something.” As I looked out within the crowd I stared off for a second and thought of him. I wondered where he was and what he was doing. I texted him what seemed like forever ago and never heard from him. Maybe I just missed the text.

As Roxy took down the rest of her martini and looked for a waitress to get her another one, I grabbed my phone from my purse to check to see if he responded. I don’t know why I just couldn’t let it go for the night, but something stopped me. Something held me. Something controlled me to look.

“Shit! He responded!” I yelled louder than I wanted to.

“Who?” She peered close to me as she tried to read my text. “Oh, shit, you mean Captain Michaels don’t you? Shit, what’d he say! What’d he say?”

I read the text aloud and we both stared at one another for a second as we took the words in.

“Holy shit Nix! He’s got it bad for you! That’s fucking hot! I mean hot! Like what kind of guy just says shit like that. Oh my God, ya’ll are gonna have some kinky ass sex together again I can totally see it. He’s gonna fuck you everywhere!” Her voice stretched farther than she anticipated and on-looking eyes gawked back at the two of us when she was done. “Oops, sorry,” she giggled innocently.

“It’s ok. But, damn, that’s kinda hot. Right?”

Why was I looking for her to agree? She already stated it was. What was with the need for continued reassurance?

“You should totally invite him here!”

Her suggestion was what I hoped to hear, yet I wasn’t going to follow through with it. Every inch of me wanted to agree, but I needed this night with Rox. I hadn’t had a girl’s night in, well I didn’t know how long. I wasn’t about to trade that all in for a piece of dick. Not tonight. No, tonight was about us girls.

“Nah, I’m gonna let him sweat it out. You know, make him miss me a bit. In fact,” I closed up my phone and put it away, “I’m not even going to respond.” I smirked at the amount of power I felt with my statement.

“Oh, damn. Look at you girl. Get it Miss Williams,” Roxy egged me on.

“Yup, tonight’s to us.” I grabbed my martini and held it up. Clink. Clink. “To us,” we both repeated.

“Oh, shit, we totally forgot about those stupid glasses,” I remembered.

“Crap. Alright, I’ll go grab ‘em.”

“Good, I’m gonna head to the ladies’ room quick.”

“Oh, no. You’re already letting go of your seal? It’s gonna be along night for you girl,” she laughed.

I laughed back to the truth of her comment. “I know. I know. I can’t help it. Those damn martinis get me every time.”

“Alright, I’ll see you in a sec.”

  Chapter Seventeen

  -Captain Michaels-

“What’s up brotha?” Curtis shook my hand and patted me upon the back. “Wow, you smell good, man. You’re definitely gonna have the ladies eating ou
t of the palm of your hands tonight smelling like that. I’m just saying,” he smirked, both hands up midair.

“Um, thanks, I think.” I looked back and forth at the club before us. The line seemed never ending. “How the hell are we supposed to get in man? Don’t tell me I came all the way out here just to wait in some long ass line?” I was annoyed. I didn’t want to waste my night outside. I would have just stayed home if that was going to be the case. It would have been easier.

“Nothing to worry about Jax. I know the guy. He’s an old college friend. He’s the one that told me all about the club actually. We’re on the VIP list.” He nudged my shoulders and smiled.

“Wow. VIP,” I nodded my head. “Very impressive.”

A simple name gesture and a check off the board and we were in. Curtis hugged the guy at the door and we walked past the awaiting individuals still in line. The music echoed within the walls as the number of half-naked woman before us tripled in numbers the further we walked in.

“Holy shit, man. This place is intense.” We both scanned the club as bodies everywhere moved back and forth to the beat.

“Come on man. Let’s head to the bar. Time for some drinks.”

As we made our way, woman everywhere looked in our direction.

“The ladies love us, man,” Curtis looked back to explain.

I just smiled. I felt good. Not that other woman were noticing me. No, they didn’t really matter. But, to know that I finally had the one woman I’ve wanted for so long to finally notice me was all I needed. I felt like a million dollars. Tonight was just another night to enjoy some time with my friend. Nothing more. I didn’t need the attention of another woman. Just hers.

I checked my phone quick to see if I had any other responses from her.

  Nothing.

No text. No call. No nothing.

I wasn’t going to let myself worry over it. It was her time off. I couldn’t stress a text. Not after everything I had early. I had her. I had every inch of her. Why worry over a response. Why harp over a stupid text when my lips were all over hers. When she gave in to every inch of me. I licked my lips at the thought of her once more. She still made me quiver over her image.

  “What ya drinking on?”

“Just grab me a beer. Something light.”

  “Got it.”

I waited for Curtis as I looked around the club to see what the hype was all about. Glasses were worn by many attendants as they danced to the music videos that circled around us. The concept was pretty unique.

“Well hey there, sexy. Are you here alone?” A soft voice asked from behind.

I turned to look at a woman with overly exposed breasts in a black halter top smile at me.

“Oh, hey. Um, no, I’m actually here with my friend.” I gestured towards the bar.

“Oh really? I am too. She’s in the bathroom though. So, what do ya say we, um, get together for a bit?” Her body clung to mine. I could feel her fingertips slowly work down my arms to my stomach.

Damn, she was fucking hot, and coming on to me hard. But, I was good, I had Phoenix to think about. I didn’t want to mess around with some random chick. Not when I worked so hard on her.

“Get together, huh?” I scoped her body up and down. Sure, Phoenix was hot, but this chick was out of this world. Her body was tight, and every inch of her was exposed for me to gawk at. I’m still a man. Of course, I was going to look. I wasn’t tied down fully just yet. Hell, I wasn’t tied down at all, but man oh man, I wish it was Phoenix before me half naked. I would pick her up and finger her right then and there upon the dance floor.

“Well, we do have VIP, why don’t you grab your friend and I’ll grab mine and we can meet up at the table over there. What do ya say?” I gestured the way of our table for her to see.

“Sounds good, I’ll meet you there, good looking.”

She turned and walked away, double martinis in her hand, and I watched her body flow back and forth. Damn. This city is filled with mouth-watering woman.

Curtis turned to me, now at the bar, “here you go man.” I grabbed the beer from his hand and chugged it. “Well, ok, then. What’s that all about? You alright?”

“Yeah, I just met this hot woman who brought a friend, and for whatever reason, wants to spend the night with us.”

“Oh really?” he questioned. “How hot? Like hot, hot,” he gestured to large breasts, “or hot, hot, hot?” His gesture added a curved body and big ass to his motion.

  “All of the above man.”

Fuck it. I was out for the night. I might as well have a little fun with it.

“What’s stopping you? Let’s go man. I wanna see this shit.”

  Chapter Eighteen

  -Phoenix-

“Nix?” Roxy called out from outside the stall. “You still in there? You throwing up?”

I flushed and grabbed my purse. “Nah. Why would I be throwing up? I barely drank anything.” I washed my hands and looked myself over in the mirror. My breasts were exposed, not to the degree of Roxy like I said, but enough for attention. My lower back and and midriff were lightly shown and my tight ass skirt made my ass look touchable. I was ready for a night of attention and lust. Sure, I wanted the Captain, but tonight he was not going to be on my mind. No longer than I already had him in explaining my story to Roxy. Tonight was about me hanging out with my friend and finding some male attention to tease.

“Girl, you look hot. I promise. Look, I found this hot ass guy while I was getting drinks. I mean holy shit hot. His eyes were all over me, I’m just saying. Anyways, they have VIP seating and invited us to hang with them. What do you say?”

  “Hot, huh?”

“Holy shit. I bet he puts your Captain Michaels to shame. I swear all I want is for his fingers to be all up in me. I’m sure his friend is hot too. But, I get the one that invited us, you hear. I want him to be my LA fuck. I want him to do bad things to me. Mhmm.” She licked her lips as she thought dirty thoughts.

“Damn, girl. What did this guy do to you to make you think like that? I’ve never seen you this way before.”

“Just the way he looked at me like he wanted to take me over and fuck me. You know, fuck me eyes? Come on, I’m sure you’ve seen a guy do that to you before, like he just couldn’t wait to fuck the shit out of you. Come on with all the sexy firefighters you’ve hooked up with. I’m sure they all gave you fuck me eyes,” she laughed.

“You’re probably right. Alright let’s go see.”

I adjusted my breasts so they were front and center and left the bathroom. It was time.

The music was so loud you could feel it in your throat. It was as if you were a part of the beat. We strut towards the VIP table where a dirty blonde, shaggy haired man stared back at me, as his dark haired friend looked in the other direction.

My stomach was in knots. I should have been confident. I usually was always confident when it came to men, but tonight my nerves were uneasy.

“Well, hello, ladies,” the blonde one gestured as he got up slowly from where he sat.

He was cute; nothing to gawk at, but attractive.

He extended his hand towards me to shake it as Roxy made her way up close and personal with his friend.

  “Curtis,” he announced.

“Hey, Curtis.” I shook his hand as I turned to see Roxy arm candy. She was all over him it seemed.

  “And this is Jaxson.”

I turned to look at his friend, and saw a dark haired man start to look my way. My heart stopped. There he was. Captain Michaels.

  I felt sick.

  I felt queasy.

I felt anger build up inside.

Captain Michaels was Roxy’s arm candy.

  “Phoenix?” he choked.

“You two know each other? “Roxy questioned, her arm still attached to his.

“Um, yeah, you could say that,” I finished. I chugged as much of my martini as I could to feel the burn in my stomach. I hoped it would mask the feeling I felt within.

“Holy shit!” Curtis started. “Holy shit! You’re Phoenix! You’re the Phoenix!” He pointed at me as if I was convicted of something.

“The Phoenix?” I looked to the Captain confused. “What does he mean?”

“Nothing. He just knows we work together.”

“Holy shit! You’re Captain Michaels?” Roxy declared as she pulled her arm from his. “Damn, Nix. It all makes sense now. I’m so sorry. I had no idea.” She stepped away from him with disgust.

“Of course it does. That’s why you were all over him, right Rox?” The stab against her sounded harsher than I meant. The alcohol was talking and I felt embarrassed and upset. I felt used.

“What are you talking about Nix? I had no idea who he was. Do you really think I would do that if I knew he was who he was?”

I shrugged. “Who knows Rox. You do some crazy things when you’re drunk. I guess I couldn’t put it past you.”

“Look, Nix, I know you’re upset so I’m gonna let that pass. I know you don’t mean it.” Her hand was upon my shoulder as she looked to me.

My face was flushed. I should have been excited and happy to see him. Instead of was mortified and upset. How should I feel about him acting like that with my friend after hours before he was all over me?

“Um, I think you two need to talk,” she stated towards the both of us. She looked away, “Curtis, you wanna dance with me for a bit?”

He picked up her hint right away. “Yeah, yeah. Let’s go.”

Hand and hand they walked away from the two of us.

I sulked and grabbed a seat at the table and chugged another bit of the martini. I was gonna need another one after this conversation. I looked to wave down a waitress or someone to grab me something to consume.

“Look, Phoenix. I’m sorry about that. That was not-that was- honestly, I don’t even know how to describe that. Curtis has been trying to drag me out for months since my separation from my ex-wife, and after being with you today, I finally was happy enough to do it.”

“Oh, so, you fucking me, gave you what, the courage or some bullshit, to come out and try to hook up with other girls? I mean, hell, I know we weren’t exclusive or anything along those lines, but damn you couldn’t of waited a day or something.”
