A twitch of his finger beneath my hands sent me back in my chair “You’re still in there baby. Aren’t you? Fight for me. Show me. Fight for me like you did that first day when you propositioned me. Mhm, I’ll never forget how insistent you were even after my rude disturbed insults. You knew you wanted me. Well now you have me Jaxson. Don’t give up now. You never gave up on me, I’m not giving up on you! Not here and now! Everyone I have ever loved has left me. I will not let you do the same! You’re not going anywhere but home in bed with me so I can take advantage of you.”
His heart rate increased on the monitor from the comment. I turned and looked at it and smiled.
“That’s it baby. Work with me. Now, listen to me this next part is very important. You showed me so much I am so thankful for you every day. I can’t tell you enough how much you’ve done for me. Probably more than you will ever know. But, I wanted tonight to be special because I wanted to tell you-“I paused as the courage built up. “I love you Jaxson Montgomery Michaels. I’ve loved you and knew it in my heart for months; I just didn’t have the courage to tell you for whatever reason. I feel selfish.”
The monitors beeped loudly again as his heart rate escalated once more. His palms twitched in response to my words.
“You hear me baby,” I leaned by body over his and grabbed his cheeks with both hands. “I fucking love you.” More movements. “I love you so much I can’t stand to be apart. I love you so much that I can’t picture my life without you. Without you, Jaxson.”
The tears began to well up in the corners of my eyes once more. I held them back with as much strength left in me as I possibly could. “Jaxson Michaels, you come back to me. Me, the woman who loves you. Are you hearing me in there?” His monitors responded for him. I peeked back to see the progress and smiled once more. “I fucking love you like the day is mother fucking long,” I laughed. “I love that you know everything about me, without me even having to tell you anything. I love that you notice the little details no one else does. I love how you hold me at night in our bed while we are making love or fucking like crazy and look me in the eyes as if no other woman exists in your world. You are my world. My everything. My reason for being. You can’t go. You can’t. You took my heart with you the day you told me you loved me. It’s yours forever and forever for me is not done yet. Jax, I wanna spend the rest of my life with you.” I couldn’t hold them back any longer. Tears fell from my eyes and my head fell to his chest. I breathed in sync with him and didn’t want to move.
I tried to be strong. I tried to think of what more to say. There were a thousand things I wanted to tell him and a thousand more that I wanted to show him. I felt sick. My heart raced and felt heavy, while my body felt warm and clammy. I pulled my body over his and moved my lips to hover over his. With all the passion and love built up within me I kissed him. Not like it was going to do anything but I needed it for me. I needed to feel his lips on mine. I needed to know that I kissed him, even if it was for one last time. The words stung like a knife right after I felt them. I pressed my soft, warm lips to his for what seemed like forever. I was so different not having him respond back. I was used to his passion overtaking my lips for so long now, the feeling was foreign.
I softly, whispered in his ear, “I love you, baby. Will you marry me?”
His body moved. I turned to look to see if I was crazy. If I was just feeling things because I wanted to. It could happen. He could totally come out of this. I saw in some doctor show about patients who were in a “minimally conscious state” who had great recovery times. I don’t know if there build up was this quickly if this was the case, but they didn’t have a burning passionate love like the two of us do.
“Come on, baby. That’s it. Come back to me.” I looked to the monitors as I saw his vitals progress better. The beeps were sounds of joy instead of sadness for once. “Nurse! Nurse!” My voice carried out into the hallway for someone to come exam what was happening.
A young Latino woman with beautiful complexion and eyes came running into the room with us. “Yes, miss? What’s going on?” She looked to the monitors as she asked.
“He’s been moving! Not a lot, but slightly. Twitching and such. And his vitals have increased much better than before.”
“Oh, wow. That’s a great sign. They say if you speak to coma patients they have a much better recovery time. Have you been talking with him?”
“Yes, I’ve been telling him I much I love him and trying to give him strength to get out.”
“Oh, that’s wonderful. Keep doing that Miss Michaels, I assume?” She tilted her head as she questioned by relationship status.
“No,” I laughed lightly. “His ex-wife, is away at the moment. I’ve tried to contact her but no answer just yet. I’m his girlfriend.” I felt proud saying the words out loud. Those were words that never meant anything to me before and now they mean everything.
“Well, it’s very nice to see he has someone who loves him close.” She smiled as she checked his paperwork and the machines. “Just keep talking to him and let me know if anything changes, ok?” Her white teeth matched her beautiful smile perfectly. She left the room and we were alone again.
“Well, you hear that Mr. Michaels? I asked you a question and you’re gonna answer me. I have never felt this way about anyone before in my life, so wake your ass up so I can marry you!”
As if a grace by God himself, or some scientific miracle overcame our presence in that ICU room that night, his eyes began to blink and his arms slowly moved. I looked down with my eyes and mouth wide. “That’s it baby. Wake up.” I squeezed his hands with mine and kissed his knuckles. “God, give him the strength. Come on.” A few more slow blinks and his beautiful light eyes were staring into mine. My heart dropped. This time from utter disbelieve at the events that just occurred before me.
“Oh my God. Oh my God, baby. You’re up.” My body leaned over his as I kissed his lips. He kissed me back with a fire and passion that was built up. “I thought you were going to leave me. I thought I would never see you again. I thought-“
He just keep shaking his head. “Do you hear me? Answer me?” I looked at him fearful once more. Why wasn’t he talking.
“Well, aren’t you going to ask me again? Now that I can answer?” The words came out slowly with a smirk at the end of his question.
“Ask you? Ask you what?” I blanked. I honestly couldn’t think of what he was talking about for the second. What had I asked him? The excitement and buildup of that moment left me foggy for the second.
His eyebrows raised and his eyes glowed as he stared back at me with this look just telling me in his own secret words that I knew what he meant.
“Ooohh. I know.” I smiled. “Jaxson Montgomery Michaels, will you marry me?” I smiled wide as I awaited his answer.
“No.” His face was straight and stern.
“No?” I gasped. “What do you mean no? You told me to ask you again just so you can say no?”
“No….only if you will marry me,” he cocked a smile.
“You asshole,” I smacked him in the chest.
“Ugh,” he grunted.
“That’s what you get Mr.”
“Well, what is it then? Will you marry me? Not the proposal setting I had in mind, but hey nothing about us has ever been what either of us had in mind, now has it?”
I giggled and shook my head with a wide smile painted on my face. “Yes, I will marry you.” I leaned in to kiss him. He grabbed the back of my head and pulled me into his lips. I pulled away quickly, and looked him directly in the eye, “I love you.” Our lips meant once more.

Call Me, Baby
Prologue
“Mhm, yes. That’s it baby. Touch me there. Just like that…”
Not exactly the conversation most ease drop on, but Mackenzie Collins walked in at the wrong time that day in Aubrey’s apartment.
“Oh, shit! You’re having sex! I’m so sorry!” she shut her eyes with her arm as she walked to the kitchen quickly. “I just came to grab my sweater for tonight. That’s all. Shit!”
Aubrey waltzed out of her bedroom, the phone’s speaker covered, rested upon her neck and stared at her friend inquisitively. “What are you talking about?” she whispered.
“I thought- I mean- It seemed like,” she stared flabbergasted to see that her room was empty. “I thought I walked in on you fucking someone.” She was relieved that her embarrassment was under faulty pretences.
“You did…him,” Aubrey held up the phone.
“Oh, shit! You actually did it! I didn’t think you were serious about it! I said it on a whim.” Mackenzie was truly startled by Aubrey’s attempt to listen to her suggestion for means of some extra cash.
“Give me a sec. Let be blow this guy’s top off quick and we’ll talk.” She stepped back in the room as if the conversation they just had was of upmost normalcy and shut the door.
Mackenzie sat on the couch in the living room and stared off in space as she tried to register her friend’s commitment to what she said only a week prior. She never expected that she would actually call the company, and even more she never expected that she would actually land the job. Sure, she thought her friend working as a phone sex operator would be a humorous job title, but she only meant it as means to an end of a joke. Apparently, Aubrey never saw it that way. She listened as mute as she could to hear friend in the other room belt out an Oscar winning orgasm and her eyes widened. What had she started?
Release date for Call Me, Baby is tentatively set for February 2017.
