But then, through the darkness and the smoke, she was sure she could see Tyler.
Could it really be him? Would he be back there so soon?
The figure took another step closer and came into the light. Ash felt her jaw sag, and she could see the emotion on his face. It was her brother, and he was holding his arms open for her.
She rushed toward him and hugged him. She had been waiting for that embrace for so long, and now that he had given it to her and shown her the affection she had needed from her family, she knew that they would be okay.
“I’m sorry, Ash,” he said into her neck. “I’ve been a real fuck up.”
She couldn’t find the words to respond but she hugged him back, trying to gather her thoughts.
“I didn’t think you’d come back,” she said. “I never wanted to cause any trouble for you.”
They both stepped back and looked at each other and he shook his head and looked down at the ground.
“I’m the one who causes trouble,” he said. “I do it far too often and I always take it out on the wrong people. I’m sorry.”
She smiled sympathetically.
“I accept your apology,” she said. “What happened when you went back home?”
He exhaled and shrugged.
“I knew the second I left that I’d fucked up. Times are too tense right now to be messing around with The Forsaken. I was out of line.”
“Have you spoken to Breaker?” she asked tentatively.
“He did me a solid,” he said with a smile of relief. “He didn’t tell anyone what happened between us. He said it wouldn’t do anyone any good at these tense times and he said he didn’t want to upset you or have you dragged into this.”
Ash felt her heart swell with gratitude. He really was an incredible guy.
“He’s not a bad person, Ash,” Tyler continued. “It’s just so hard for me to think of my little sister with anyone. Never mind a biker from a rival gang to mine. But that’s my issue. And I will get past it. At least with him I know you’ll be safe.”
She smiled and hugged him again. It felt good to have her brother back.
“I would never intentionally cause trouble for you,” she whispered in his ear. “And I’m sorry I came here and this all happened. But I’m not sorry I met Breaker. I can’t even begin to explain how he makes me feel. It’s insane. It’s like this was always supposed to happen.”
Tyler smiled and dipped his head.
“Okay, okay,” he said. “I don’t want to know any details.”
Ash laughed and smiled.
“If he ever hurts you, though.” He looked at her knowingly.
“I know,” she agreed. “But I really don’t think you have to worry about that. This is different.”
Tyler smiled and then took a step back.
“Looks like he’s coming to find you anyway,” he said as he turned and sloped off into the crowds.
Ash felt him before she saw him. He wrapped his arms around her waist and breathed in her scent, letting his breath fall hot on her neck.
“Here she is,” he whispered.
She spun around in his arms and wrapped hers around his neck as they held each other there and Breaker kissed her longingly on the lips.
“Thank you,” she whispered as she looked into his eyes. “Thank you for not getting Tyler into any more trouble.”
He nodded.
“I did it for you, babe,” he said. “What we have here is too good to be messing up that fast. I want us to start things properly and if your brother hates me that isn’t exactly going in the right direction, is it?”
She bit her lip and grinned.
“Besides,” he said. “I don’t want to cause any more trouble for either of the clubs. We have so much going on, this is the last thing anyone needs to be dealing with. Plus, when I spoke to Tyler and I was straight with him about how I felt about you, it seemed to put his mind at ease. He knows I’m a genuine guy, and he knows now exactly how I feel.”
She felt herself go all shy, and she looked up at him with her big, doe eyes.
“I don’t wear my heart on my sleeve,” he said. “I’ve never told anyone what I told your brother today, and I think he could see how much it took for me to say it. With the way we live, we don’t tend to show any kind of weakness to the other side.”
“So I’m a weakness?” she joked.
“Babe,” he laughed. “You have no idea…”
They leaned in and kissed again and once more, it was as if they were the only two people alive. The room around them was spinning and Ash felt dizzy with passion.
When they broke apart and she noticed that Breaker was smirking over her shoulder, she turned to see Kady and Flash standing there grinning. Kady was clapping her hands together and Flash had his arm around the back of her, resting on the bar. They both looked happy and as if they were more than pleased for their two friends. And Ash couldn’t help but think how perfect it would be if Kady could put her prejudices about The Forsaken Riders aside and consider a life with a biker too… Because her and Flash looked damned good together.
“Come on!” Breaker leaned into her and said in her ear. “Meeting is done. I’m taking you out of here.”
They said their goodbyes and then they made their way toward the main door. She had had no idea what to expect from her first time in a lawless biker bar, but The Bleeding Bullet had been an experience she would never forget. And she could only hope for many more nights in there with her newfound family and friends.
11.
The desert was wild at night and the chill rolled through the air and clung to her skin, making her goose pimple and shiver. Breaker wrapped his arm around her as they walked toward the motel and she looked back over her shoulder at the diner.
“Not bad for a first date, was it?” she laughed as she motioned in the direction of the diner and at Arlene’s miserable face shining out from inside.
“That wasn’t our first date,” Breaker corrected her. “The park was our first. And then we had drinks in Faith’s Bar, so that was our second. Then this morning outside of here, that was our third, we chatted and flirted and then I took you for lunch, which was technically our fourth date. Then we had our fifth in The Bullet tonight and our walk over here.”
“So this makes right now our sixth?” she asked him with a wicked and flirty little smile.
“It sure does,” he said knowingly.
She knew what she wanted and she could tell what he wanted too.
“I want to spend the night with you,” she said bravely.
She had never been so forward but she was a firm believer in never wasting any time. She wanted to feel him. To taste him. To know what he was all about. She needed his body against hers and she needed his touch and love.
“Are you sure?” he asked her. “I was only joking about this being our sixth date…” He laughed and brushed her windswept hair out of her eyes.
“Come in,” she said as she took hold of his hand and led him toward the doorway of her motel room. “I’ve never been surer in my entire life.”
She unlocked the door and led him inside. She could have been embarrassed at the amount of clothes and make-up she had scattered around the place, but with Breaker, she just knew he wouldn’t mind. It was as if they had already been together for months and their walls were already down. She couldn’t believe the intensity and ferociousness of their bond, even when they had angered each other in the beginning.
If she could have gone back to two days before, she never would have imagined herself there with someone like him. She was so used to playing it safe and getting her heart broken in the process. She just knew this was the right time to step out of her comfort zone and just go for it, but the strange thing was, she was more comfortable there than she had ever been anywhere else.
Breaker closed the door and looked at her with those hungry, hungry eyes. She kicked off her shoes and kept her gaze fixed firmly on his. She had never felt more in cont
rol or more powerful, even though she was standing alongside a man who could literally snap her in two with one hand.
She let the light from the highway shine in on them through the gap in the curtains, and the red glow from the motel sign flashed in over and over. She reached out for him and let her fingertips trail along his rock hard chest and he grunted as he pulled her up against him, where she could feel him already hard, poking his desire into her stomach.
She gasped as he kissed her throat and pulled her head back gently, nibbling at her and working her over and over. She trembled. His touch was so good. So intense and right. She let him sweep her up into his arms and carry her toward the bed where he threw her down and stood looming above her, his shoulders and chest heaving with desire.
She opened her legs, even though she was still fully clothed, and she let her knees open and close together. He flashed her a wicked smile as he knelt forward and took hold of them, before he rested his full weight on her and kissed her again. She ran her hands up his sides and felt each muscle. He was so big and bulging it was too good to be true. And from what she could already feel stirring inside his jeans, it only made her quiver for more. She could tell he was big. She could feel it pressing against her and she gasped as he kissed her neck again and pushed himself down hard with a teasing thrust.
She couldn’t wait any longer. She was aching with lust and she wanted to see all of him, she wanted to know what he was hiding underneath his ripped and disheveled clothes.
As if he had read her mind, he leaned back and ripped his t-shirt off over his head and threw it down on the floor behind him to merge with all of hers that were bursting out of the closet. She gasped as she ran her hands across his abs, they were perfectly sculpted and raw, and she shifted further up the bed, pulling her own top off over her head as he put his weight on her and kissed her again. The feeling of their naked skin against each other’s was incredible. And when he reached down and searched for the buttons on her jeans, she had never been more wet and ready for a man in her life.
He slipped them down and worked his big fingers into her underwear where she groaned and gasped into his neck as he found her sex and massaged her slick and engorged pussy.
“Oh babe,” he grunted as he touched her for the first time. “You’re so wet and tight…”
She could sense his desire growing even more and she kissed him, urging him to get further inside of her, and reaching for his belt buckle as she went.
When she started to pull his jeans down and saw his manhood emerge, she gasped and looked up at him in awe. He was so big and perfect, so hard and thick. The things he was going to make her feel sent trembles through her just at the thought of it.
She watched as he kicked his jeans off and stood there holding his incredible dick in his hands.
“Don’t make me wait,” she gasped as she opened her legs wide and looked up at him.
He lunged forward and pushed her down into the pillows, pinning her arms above her head with one hand, while with the other he pushed himself inside her, strong and hard.
When she took him, she couldn’t believe the sensations she was experiencing. She was riding the most intense wave of pleasure she had ever felt and she gripped him tightly with her feet as he powered himself into her over and over again.
“Breaker,” she screamed as she dug her nails into his back and dragged them down.
He grunted and groaned as he thrust into her and opened her up like never before. He was so strong and so big, she could barely even stand it. She was losing all sense of time and space. She was completely at his mercy and he was dominating her just as she had imagined.
When she felt a heat rise within her and she felt his thrusts become hard and slower, she knew they were about to fall over the edge at the same time. She looked up into his eyes as he kissed her and held her there beneath him, and they both came in the most delicious rush of ecstasy before Breaker collapsed on top of her, his whole body juddering with the aftermath of their pleasure and exertion.
“Babe,” he said breathlessly as he held her there and kissed her on the forehead. “No one has ever made me feel like that before. That was something else.”
She looked up at him and nodded.
“I know exactly what you mean,” she panted.
He lay next to her and wrapped his arms around her, kissing her deeply as they held each other tight. The light from the motel sign still kept flashing in through the gap at the window and the lights from trucks thundering down the highway shone in as they past, casting big glares of light around the room.
She was so happy she could burst.
What a way to start her new life.
12.
They walked hand in hand down Main Street and Breaker looked down at her as if he was the proudest man on earth. She couldn’t help but smile to herself that she had been so lucky to find him. Out of everyone she had ever met, she had never felt a connection like the one she did with him, and it only intensified with each passing day.
He walked with her toward Kady’s salon and opened the door on where it all first began. She had been in town for three weeks now, and things were moving quickly and in all the right ways. She loved how he made her feel so safe, and of how he protected her and was welcoming her into his life without question. Even Tyler had started to come around properly, and he and Breaker were forming more bonds than any other Forsaken and Iron Rider in history.
“You’re going to be the thing that mends us,” Breaker had told her as he whispered into her neck that first morning when they woke up in each other’s arms. “Because of you, I know now that everything between our two towns is going to work out all right. And together, we will be able to fight whatever the Russians throw at us.”
She felt such a swell of pride. But more than anything, she had felt finally that she truly belonged. Her life with Matt and living in the city seemed like a million miles away. She never would have thought that returning to a small desert town would have been on her agenda, and yet there she was, settling in as if it had always been this way, and loving every second.
“Hey, guys!” Kady beamed as they walked through the door arm in arm.
She looked rosy and excited for them, a grin spreading out across her entire face as she clasped her hands together and sighed.
“How are my favorite couple?”
Ash laughed and leaned into Breaker’s side.
“We’re good, thank you,” she replied for them both.
Breaker kissed her on the top of the head and then he led her over to the chair that was waiting and prepped, ready for the next round of hair coloring.
“Are you sure?” Kady asked her with a pout. “I really love it this light and white…”
“It’s not me,” she said with a shrug. “And I’ve realized I don’t need a new image to lead a new life anyway.”
“And she knows I’ll dig her whatever,” Breaker said with a cheeky smile from across the room as he sat down on the big leather chairs in the window. “But one thing, girls, if anyone sees me sat in here, you better tell them it’s because I’m here to collect rent. I don’t want anyone thinking I’m turning soft.”
Ash laughed and smiled at him. If only he knew how much he had changed since that first time they had met right back in that exact same spot what felt like months and months ago.
“What if I hate it?” She looked up at Kady and gritted her teeth.
“Then you’re stuck with it,” Kady laughed. “Because if I try to go back and lighten it again, your hair is going to fall out!”
“Would you still dig me if I was bald?” She winked at Breaker in the mirror and he shrugged at her and grinned.
“Okay, let’s do it,” Ash said as she sucked in a lungful of air and braced herself. “It’s only hair. I can always cut it off.”
“You’re not going to hate it,” Kady reassured her, much like she had done the first time. “It’s going to be exactly what you need.”
Breaker r
ose to his feet and started to cross the room. He stopped in front of Ash’s chair and kneeled down in front of her and took hold of her hand.
“Beautiful inside and out,” he said before he kissed her again.
It was so intense, so perfect and so them… She couldn’t and wouldn’t have it any other way.
They had started their relationship there in the salon, and now they were making more journeys and memories together.
“We’ll have to tell our kids about this,” he joked as he winked and held her hand.
Ash looked at her man and at her newfound friend and she honestly couldn’t believe how lucky she was to have walked into Slate Springs that day. It felt as if she had finally begun living. She squeezed Breaker’s hand and let his eyes lock in on hers yet again. There was a long road ahead for them, and so much more for them to experience together. The Forsaken Riders were rising and so were The Iron Riders, and now, because of Breaker and Ash’s bond, it was as if they were finally family.
Breaker and Ash were pretty much biker royalty, and they had built a connection for both themselves and the bike gangs of the desert that was now going to be impossible to break.
“Here goes,” said Kady as she wiggled her eyebrows at Ash in the mirror.
Ash squeezed Breaker’s hand again and he leaned in and whispered into her ear, “You do know I don’t just dig you, right?” he asked.
She looked across at him as Kady disappeared into the stock room at the back of the salon.
“What do you mean?” she asked, nervously.
“I love you, Ash,” he said as he cupped her face and looked sternly into her eyes. “And seeing you sitting here again only confirms it. I knew it the moment I walked through the door and saw you for the first time.”
She thought back to how he had played with her and made fun of her, and it all made sense because she had felt it too.
She loved him, she really did.
And now that they were together there was nothing they couldn’t do. They had found their true place in life and fate was leading the way.
