“Come here,” he said, reaching out to me.

I toed off my boots, anticipation sparking deep in my stomach as I reached the side of the tub. My hands were at the zipper of my leather pants when he rose up out of the water like a slick, dark vision, his body gleaming in the candlelight. “All that glitters,” I mumbled as lust rose through me and my body tightened with need.

“Turns to gold,” he whispered, reaching for me, lifting me in his arms. My legs straddled his waist as he sank back into the tub. The moment his lips touched mine, every coherent thought I had left me in a rush as he opened the bond between us and his desire poured over me, through me and into the darkest recesses of my mind, scalding me with the heat of passion.

“You are my Darkness and my Light,” he said, his mouth hot on mine as he stole my sanity with his kiss. Expertly he licked and nipped along my lips, delving and tasting as though I were a delectable wine and he a connoisseur. He trailed a hot path along my chin as he took the black T-shirt I’d worn that day by the collar and tore it down the center, ripping it open to the heat of his touch.

By the time his mouth found the hammering pulse in my neck, he’d unclasped the front of my lacy black bra, spilling my full, aching breasts into the warmth of his touch. I pressed myself closer to him, his hands everywhere at once as he held me on top of him, water lapping over the back of my pants.

When I felt the scrape of his teeth on my neck, warmth pooled between my legs, the blaze of his hunger burning between us. Without warning, he flipped me beneath him in the soapy water and taking my pants by the waist, peeled them off of me so quickly I could barely catch my breath. Then his mouth was hot on my breast as he took the fullness of it into his mouth, whirling his tongue around the tight bud of my nipple.

I was writhing beneath him, my nails raking down his back as he parted my legs, his sure fingers seeking the only destination I wanted. And when he parted my lower lips, sinking a finger into the hot wetness of my aching opening, I ground against him, begging him for more.

It was obvious by the inferno that was burning its way between us that the tub wasn’t going to be big enough for what we needed to do to each other. With a growl of heat, hunger and a bit of frustration, Kieran stood up, scooped me up from the tub and carried me from the bathroom, both of us dripping down the hallway.

He kicked my bedroom door open, then shoved it closed with his heel as he effortlessly carried me to my bed. “As I said, I would have you in a bed,” he whispered, his lips finding mine in the darkness as he followed me down to the mattress.

“You said your bed,” I gasped when I could finally draw a breath, his lips everywhere at once.

As his mouth burned a path down my abdomen, he lifted up his head, his eyes swirling pools of violet light, and darkly whispered, “Aye, lass. So I did. But have you I will.”

I don’t remember much after that except the delicious feel of his mouth all over my body. His tongue, hot on the wet folds of my clit as he spread me wide and drank from me until I was writhing in delightful agony, my body wracked by a million fires as I came over and over at his expert touch.

When he finally rose up above me and pressed the full roundness of his cock into me, one slow inch at a time, I came again, clutching and thrashing as he slowly worked his way deep inside me.

Slowly he started to move, and I thought I’d found heaven as my body closed around him in bliss. Leaning over me, his lips finding mine in the darkness, he sealed all vows between us and rode me in long, sure strokes, our bodies alive with the inferno of passion that blazed out of control. His thick, hard shaft pumped in and out of me, filling me completely as the pressure increased.

“That’s it, lass,” he growled, his lips on my ear as he licked a path down to my neck. His mouth on my neck tightened my body as each thrust sparked a new need, a new fire.

“Do it,” I told him, meeting each deep thrust. I wanted him to bite me. Needed it like I’d never needed anything before. His bite was becoming addictive, and I wanted more. “Do it, Kieran,” I said as he pumped harder into my throbbing heat. I was so close, and his bite would send us both over the edge.

“I’ll not be giving you up, Rihker. You are mine,” he said as his teeth sank into my skin.

My orgasm washed through me as light exploded like a million stars in my mind. It almost felt better than standing in the path of the Light’s full glory. Almost.

Kieran’s dark lust, combined with his hunger, tore through me and barreled back into him like a ricocheted bullet, forcing his teeth from my throat as he threw his head back, yelling my name as he came inside me.

It was some time before my glowing subsided, my body floating in the realm of pure sexual bliss. Before the night was through he had fed from me multiple times, and we’d made a total mess of my bed. So much so that I had to strip the bedding off it and get clean linen.

Around five, everyone started returning home.

We were in the living room, snuggled up on the couch; Kieran in a black silk robe that hung to his feet, and me in my bright red one. We looked like Christmas Death kicked back on my bright purple pit group. When the last of the Weres--Berg--came sauntering through the door, Gimlit locked up for the night.

With the door chain in hand, Gimlit turned to look at us, all of us, spread out about the living. Ien was lounging in my rainbow puke chair, Garric at his feet, leaning against it as they discussed some event of the evening. Jet and Ivy sat at the coffee table, sipping wine and speaking low, watching Ien. Visions of nefarious Were-deeds wandering through their heads, no doubt.

Marcus was at the end of the pit group, his feet stretched out in front of him, an easy smile resting lightly on his lips. Jade was at my feet, his back to the couch as he absently trailed his fingers down my leg. It was just me and my mish-mash little band of Other World misfits.

Funny what sort of family Fate deals you, I thought as I looked around the room, wondering what the hell I was supposed to do with all of them.

My eyes found Gimlit’s, and I watched him carefully, certain that the look in his eyes never boded well for my future. As he turned fully to face me, I caught the stark distance in his turquoise eyes.

“What is it, Gim?” I asked leaning forward on the couch. Everyone caught the worry reflected in my voice and looked up at the Ogre.

“Change is coming,” he said raising his head and scenting the air. “Something in the Light.”

Prophetic and vague, as always. That’s my Ogre.

What does the future have in store for me? Who the hell knows?

As long as it’s not shit on toast.

  Epilogue

  Dear Reader,

I thank you for coming along on my journey into my first paranormal adventure. I loved writing this story and I look forward, like you, to finding out what the future holds for Rihker and the Others. I hope that you also enjoyed all of the verses at the beginning of each chapter, the majority of them were from one of my favorite subscriptions--Poetry--founded in 1912 by Harriet Monroe and was the April, 2006 issue--The Translations Issue. You can subscribe to Poetry Magazine at PoetryMagazine.org. Other verses came from poet, Arthur Rimbaud--A Season in Hell & Illuminations, William Shakespeare, and The Bible.

There are plenty more roads and dark paths to wander, many more tales to be told. And I hope that you’ll walk with me.
