Yasmin looked up into Jack’s eyes and he felt an immense pride at earning the deep, timeless love of such an astonishing girl.
“We belong to each other,” she said softly. “Come back to me. Come back to your child.”
Jack looked at Yasmin in wide-eyed disbelief. She smiled cryptically, idly stroking her lower abdomen.
“Come on!” the helicopter pilot yelled. “Snow flurry coming in!”
Jack kissed Yasmin one last time and bounded away up the ridge to the helicopter.
He almost hugged the pilot out of sheer joy.
No matter what happened now, his life was complete. After 557 years of life, he figured that was quite an achievement.
