He chuckled as he walked away.
Marcus frowned down at her. “I don’t want him to know.”
This time it was her turn to frown. “You don’t want them to know I love you?”
He huffed loudly and leaned in. “Would you stop saying that?”
Heat filled her cheeks. She had totally misread him. He only wanted her love when they were in private. She dropped his hand.
“I misunderstood,” she said quietly. Tears filled her eye as she spoke. “If that’s the way you feel, I guess I just have to accept it.”
Marcus sighed loudly and shook his head. “No, you don’t understand. When you say you love me, it makes me want you.”
Courtney stared at him for a moment, and then she broke out into laughter. She threw herself into his arms and placed a giant kiss against his mouth.
She could feel his muscles tense for a moment before he moved his mouth against hers. Slowly they pulled apart. A small smile played on his lips.
“You’re going to ruin my image,” he whispered.
“Good,” she whispered back. “I love you.”
She winked as she pulled away. A large smile as she did so.
She’d done it. She’d gotten her Christmas miracle.

Author Bio
Madison currently lives with her husband and two children in the Valley of the Sun in Arizona. After leaving the frozen tundra of the north, she was more surprised than anyone with how much she has enjoyed living in the desert. Seeing as she stated on more than one occasion before moving to Arizona how much she hated heat, it was an odd move, but it seems her hatred for sub-zero temperatures and ice has won out in the end.
When she’s not writing, she’s enjoying time with her family. Madison and her family frequent festivals in the area, as well as local cultural events, and spend time with family in the area. In the summer, she is most likely to be found in the pool with the family and in the winter by the fireplace. Since both her children are autistic, days can be a little chaotic, but with her husband beside her, there’s nothing she can’t handle.
