“Goodness, all of those J names. I’m surprised your parents don’t get confused,” she chuckled.

“That’s the running joke with everyone. Every first name in our family starts with a J, including my mother Jenny,” he replied. “What about you? How many siblings do you have?”

“I have two older brothers, Caleb, and Travis,” she said. “They’re both married. No nieces and nephews yet. All career people.”

“They all live in New York?”

“Yes. In the city. My parents live in the suburbs. Both retired. My mother’s a retired nurse and my dad’s a retired English teacher. Caleb’s a stock broker, his wife’s a VP at a bank. Travis and his wife are both corporate attorneys.”

“Impressive. Your brother’s a corporate lawyer, and you didn’t have him look over your paperwork before you entered into your real estate deal?” Jonas asked.

Sinclair flushed. “No, they all treat me like a baby. I’m twenty-six years old. I can take care myself. They still act as if I’m still the pesky little kid who followed at their heels when I was younger. That’s when I see them at all. Everyone is so busy with their lives now. Except for Mom and Dad. They’re well—well Mom and Dad. They worry about me, but I’m okay,” she said.

“So the money you saved was from investments?”

“Some, but most was just from savings. I’ve been saving for a while. Caleb invested some funds for me that tripled. However, he was in my business too much, so I cashed in on all of my stocks, thereby cutting my brother out of my affairs. My brothers think that they’re the bosses of me. It can be…smothering.” She shuddered.

“Hence you moving out here to Georgia. Do you have any family down here?”

“Not that I know of. I have a slew of aunts, uncles, and cousins, but as far as I’m aware, everyone lives up north. Wait, that’s not true. I have some cousins who transplanted themselves in some parts of the south,” she said.

“What are your plans for today?” Jonas asked.

  “Nothing. Why?”

“I’m going to the aquarium today; would you like to come along?”

Sinclair’s eyes lit up. She hadn’t been anywhere since she arrived in Georgia, other than going to a movie and dinner with a few co-workers.

“I’d love to go. What time are you leaving?”

“Not just yet. Finish your breakfast,” he replied with a grin.

  “Oh, I’m excited.”

“I can tell. You don’t get out much, do you?” he kidded.

“Not at all. As you can see. I’m mostly working.”

“So that little show you were putting on was for what?” he asked.

Sinclair knew if she were a shade lighter he would be able to see her reddened cheeks.

  “It wasn’t a show. I thought I was alone.”

“You often dance in the nude when you’re alone?”

“No. That was a one-time thing. One that I’d like to forget about,” she said.

“Why? You dance beautifully, and you have a magnificent body,” he said bluntly. “Maybe you can put on a private showing for me one day.”

“I don’t think so,” she snorted. “Besides, you already had one.”

“Yes, you will. You know we're going to sleep together, right?”

  “That’s very presumptuous of you.”

“Yes. However, true. Trust me, I can read people. It’s my job.”

  “Just what is your job?”

“Mostly corporate takeovers—if necessary, restructuring, fixing problem areas in corporations, stuff like that.” He shrugged.

“And that’s what you were doing out of the country for so long, taking over stuff? You must be good at what you do.”

“The best. I was born and raised in the south, but spent most of my adulthood in New York. Got all of my training from there and in China before coming back home. Well, what’s supposed to be home? I’m rarely here. I’m taking a year off to do nothing but enjoy life,” he said.

“Good for you. I wish I could afford not to work.”

“Sinclair, you saved over $100,000 on a nurses’ salary. I’m sure you make a good amount, but it takes a lot of discipline to save like that on a salary like yours. You can do it when you’re ready.”

“I guess. I like working.” She shrugged.

“Good for you. However, I believe it’s more you love what you do rather than working. Let’s finish this breakfast so we can get going. I’m sure you already know how bad traffic is around here. We’ll eat lunch in town after the aquarium, or dinner, depending on what time we’re done.”

“The traffic is dreadful.” She shuddered. “Lunch and or dinner in town sounds fine to me.”

They ate the remainder of their meal in silence. Both cleaned the kitchen before retiring to their separate rooms to get ready for their outing.

Jonas stared at Sinclair as she sailed happily from section to section of the aquarium. They were on their way to watch the dolphin show. He knew she’d love that. She seemed to get excited about the least little things.

Just before the entrance to go to the dolphin show, Jonas grasped Sinclair by the hand and pulled her to the side, into a small alcove that looked like a mini rainforest. There he drew her into his arms and kissed her thoroughly. He was pleasantly surprised when she didn’t put up any resistance, but returned the kiss wholeheartedly.

Her taste was sweet, and he devoured her mouth. He then grasped her by the hips, pulling her more firmly into him. Jonas wished they were home and in his bed. He wanted her bad. The kiss deepened. Jonas heard someone clearing their throat loudly, and then yell ‘get a room.'

He quickly released Sinclair. Both of them were breathing erratically.

Jonas cleared his throat. “I think we better get out of here,” he murmured. “How would you feel about finishing this at home?”

  “Let’s go,” she whispered.

Without thinking twice or giving her a chance to change her mind, he hurriedly led her out of the aquarium, through the parking lot and into the car.

“What about the dolphins,” she asked.

“What about them?” he chuckled. “Trust me, Sinclair, they won’t miss us.”

The traffic on the interstate was treacherous. It took them over an hour to get home.

Jonas parked the car, got out and was halfway out of his jacket by the time he got to the front door. He opened the door, pulled Sinclair inside, and closed it after them.

Unable to restrain themselves any longer, they ripped at each other’s clothing, and Jonas pinned her against the wall next to the door. The buttons on her blouse went scattering across the floor, as he tore the front open, pushed her bra down below her breast and grasped one round globe in his hand and squeezed it.

Her hands were under his sweatshirt, touching him all over.

He kissed her endlessly as he pushed her jeans down her legs.

“Step out of them,” he whispered against her lips.

She lifted her leg and got one out of her jeans before he grabbed her thong and shredded it with one pull. Her hands went to the button of his jeans, and slipped inside, grabbed hold of his cock and held him in her hands. He was on fire.

Before he got carried away and forgot, he pulled a condom out of his back pocket, ripped it open with his teeth, and swiftly sheathed himself. It was a good thing she had long legs. He wrapped one of her legs around his waist, dipped his finger inside of her—testing her readiness. She was nice and wet.

“Hold on. We’ll do this the proper way next time,” he murmured.

“Isn’t this just as proper,” she breathed, and he smiled.

Oh yeah, he liked her a lot.

Jonas entered her in one fell swoop, causing her to slide up the wall and cry out her pleasure. He bit down on the inside of his mouth to keep from crying out himself. Using his upper body, he held Sinclair firmly against the wall, pulled out of her, and then pushed back inside of her.

  “Yes!” she crie
d. “Do that again,” she begged.

Jonas obliged—surging in and out of her. Sinclair had hold of his hair and was pushing his face down into her breast.

He inhaled her perfumed scent before bringing one taut nipple into his mouth and sucking it. She writhed and moaned against him.

  “Harder, Jonas,” she moaned.

He thrust into her at a maddening pace, her body sliding up and down the wall with each push. She then wrapped her other leg around him, causing him to sink deeper into her.

“Shit!” he groaned, pushing in and out of her. Her vaginal walls tightened around him, and he thought he’d lose his mind from pleasure. She fit him like a glove.

Sinclair was whimpering—on the verge of her release. She was shaking uncontrollably against him.

He drove into her one last time—she screamed her release so loud he was certain the neighbors heard her. He just hoped they didn’t think he was killing her. The way Sinclair yelled, one couldn’t tell he wasn’t.

After seeing her private show, he knew she’d be responsive. The way she danced in front of his fireplace, passion all but oozed out of her pores.

Thrusting into her again, he spilled his release, stream after stream of semen filled the condom until he felt drained.

He lay his head against hers and breathed deeply, smelling her damp skin and the delicate scent of her perfume. The rise and fall of her breasts had his body heating all over again.

He’d better get them to bed before he killed them both.

“I think we should try the bed now.”

“I’m game if you are,” she murmured. “I don’t believe I can walk. I know my legs are like jelly after being wrapped around you through that rough quickie.”

“No worries, sweet lady, I shall carry you,” he said, lifting her from the wall and marking towards the bedroom with her in his arms.

She screeched. “You’re crazy!” and began laughing like a loon as he kicked the door open and bounced her down on the bed.

“Now let me get another condom. We are going to take this nice and slow,” he murmured.

  Chapter Six

Jonas sat around the dinner table while his family joked, and everyone tried to outtalk one another.

He missed Sinclair. Jonas had come to love her perky personality. He could see how she’d gotten taken in that real estate scam. She was smart as a whip, but far too trusting. To assert her independence, she often made spur-of-the-moment decisions. Sinclair just went with the flow.

“Jonas, you’re quiet,” his mother said, passing a bowl of peas around to Joshua. “Is there something wrong?”

He inwardly shook himself, placed a smile on his face, and looked across the table into his mother’s excited blue eyes. His mother loved to cook. The holidays were her excuse for cooking too much food.

“I’m okay, Mom. I just can’t seem to get over this jetlag,” he lied. Of course, he and Sinclair spent almost every single moment they had alone in bed.

“That’s what you get for staying away from your family for so long. I keep telling you boys that family…”

“Is important,” they all said in concert.

“Stop being fresh,” his mother smiled. “I have five boys and not one marriage or grandchild as of yet. When are y’all going to settle down?”

  “I’m engaged, Mom,” Justice said.

“Oh please, Justice, not that nonsense again. And just where is your fiancée?”

“She’s spending time with her family for the holiday,” Justice remarked quietly.

“All of them? This season has like three holidays in a row, you know,” she sniffed, eyeing Justice.

“Mom, can we change the subject? How come you haven’t asked Jonas about his houseguest? Anyone other than me wonder why we haven’t heard anything from him since she’s been there?” Justice asked, his tone salty.

  Jonas could have strangled him.

“What houseguest? I thought some stranger had stolen his house, but it was straightened out. At least that’s what Josiah told me,” she scowled at her husband and then turned her focus on him. “Is this true, Jonas?”

  “What, Mom?”

“Don’t play dumb with me, Jonas Thorn. Are you playing house with some strange woman?”

“Can we just eat and be thankful, merry, whatever it is we’re supposed to be?” Jonas replied with a groan.

“No,” his mother responded. “I’m waiting.”

“Mom, I’m a grown man,” he complained.

“Not to mothers. Spill it,” she said.

“I’m not playing house, as you put it. However, Sinclair is still there until we figure out who swindled her out of her money. It’s as simple as that,” Jonas said, refusing to elaborate on his and Sinclair’s relationship, or sex life, or whatever anyone wanted to call what they’re doing. Right now, he didn’t care to label it. He and Sinclair enjoyed each other’s company and the sex even more. A lot of mind-blowing sex.

Just before her departure to her parents’ house, they’d done it against the wall again, on the dining room table, and in the shower.

“You’re sleeping with her,” his mother voice cut into his thoughts.

“Wh-what are you talking about?” he asked innocently.

“Don’t play the innocent with me, Jonas. You have a schoolboy blush on your face. Dang, Justice, don’t go all red in the face for that sweet girl that continues to stay around and lets him call her his fiancée, and you’re all google-eyed over your lady friend.”

“Why is everyone picking on me?” Justice stormed.

“Four years!” they all cried simultaneously.

  “Talk, Jonas,” his mother demanded.

  “Mom?” he whined.

  “Now,” she shot back.

“There’s nothing to tell. We enjoy each other’s company. That’s it. She works most of the time. In fact, she’s working double shifts at Georgia Medical almost every day,” he frowned.

  “Is she a doctor?”

“No, a CCU nurse. She’s there all time, and I don’t like it,” he grumbled.

“Gosh darn it, Josiah, finally,” his mother whooped.

“Finally, what?” Jonas and his brothers asked.

“The boy’s in love.” His mother grinned.

“He doesn’t even know her,” Justice complained.

“I’m not in love with anybody,” Jonas stormed. “Like Justice said, I don’t even know her.”

“Please, Jonas, you’ve had her in your house for weeks now. We’ve hardly seen hide nor hair of you. What’s this young lady’s name again?”

  “Sinclair James,” he murmured.

“Nice name. And you say she’s a nurse at Georgia Medical?”

“Yes, she is,” he said proudly.

  “Nice body, too,” Justice added.

“Justice you refer to Sinclair’s body one more time, and I’m going to stuff you like this bird that Mom has fixed up so prettily. Only you won’t be so nice looking,” Jonas snapped at his younger brother. They were all only a year apart in age. All except for Justice. Jordan being the oldest, then Jack, Joshua, himself, and Justice. At thirty-three, Jonas was three years older than Jonas.

“Geez, aren’t you the protective one,” Justice mocked.

“Bring her over for our New Year’s Eve party, Jonas,” his mother said.

“Mom, I can’t just bring her. She may not want to come, or even better, she might be spending it with her family,” Jonas said.

This was getting out of control. Once his mother sank her teeth into something, she didn’t let up.

“You’re a corporate shark; I’m sure you can convince her to come. Make it happen,” his mother said. “Pass the potatoes, Jordan.”

That meant the subject was closed. Or so he thought.

“I’d like to be formally introduced to her, too,” Jordan chimed in, as well as Jack.

Jonas just growled and continued to pile food on his plate. Suddenly he didn’t feel like eating. He was
just going through the motions. Until Jordan changed the subject and started talking about his new business venture.

Sinclair sat back and listened to her brothers and their wives go on and on and on, talking about nothing. She loved them all dearly, but they could be a bore.

She missed her fun times with Jonas. Sinclair smiled to herself, just thinking about how they’d met and all the events following. For the first time in a while, she was having fun and incredible sex. She wasn’t complaining.

“Sinclair, you’re awfully quiet tonight. What gives?” Caleb asked.

“Nothing, I can’t get a word in edgewise. I’ve just been listening to you all. Momma, the food was delicious as usual.” She smiled over at her mother.

Monica Sinclair was a beautiful woman. Her salt and pepper hair was cut into a neat bob, and sharp cheekbones under caramel colored skin added to her attractiveness. Sinclair had taken her darker coloring from her handsome father. Her parents were both sixty-five years of age. Her mom was a few months older than her dad, and both looked much younger than their years.

“Well, Travis and I have some wonderful news,” Lesley said excitedly.

“You two are going back to school to obtain another degree,” Sinclair joked.

“No, brat,” Travis said, pulling a lock of her hair.

“Ouch,” she cried, punching him on the arm.

“Anyway,” Lesley said, rolling her eyes playfully at Sinclair. “We’re pregnant!”

“Oh my gosh, I’m going to be a grandmother. Finally,” her mother said, jumping up from the couch and rushing over to wrap her arms around Lesley.

“Congratulations, son,” her father Abe said, smacking Travis on the back.

“Oh man, they beat us to it, honey,” Barbara, Caleb’s wife said. “We’re pregnant, too!”

“For real!” her mother exclaimed, her eyes brimming with tears. “Two babies? Oh goodness, how exciting.”

Wow, both her brother’s wives were pregnant. Good for them. Caleb and Travis were almost forty. If they were going to have children, now would be a perfect time. Although, she didn’t know how parenthood was going to work out for either couple. They’d always been so focused on their careers.
