“I have to pee, I will be right back.” Laine got up.
“I will go with you.” Cassie stood. They held hands as they went to the back of the house to use the restroom.
“Cardio here?” I asked my brothers and cousin.
“Nope, nigga been MIA,” Ishmael responded.
“I bet.”
As soon as I finished speaking, this hoe named Markisha was in my face. She looked good as fuck, I’ll give her that.
“Can’t speak since you got that flavor of the week?”
“That’s my girl and you know it. I make sure everybody knows that shit.” My response was dry, even though she was clearly trying to be on some other shit.
“I just be wanting to chill, Shai, but you act like—”
“Hey, Mischief.” Liberty walked up looking sexy as hell. My heart almost dropped at the fact that she was here and looking good than a muthafucka.
“What’s up?” I replied, looking over my shoulder to see if Laine was coming back.
“Excuse me, bitch, I was talking to him!” Markisha’s crazy ghetto ass shouted. If you a nigga reading this, take my advice and leave them Compton hood rats alone. I know the head is phenomenal, but it ain’t worth it.
“Who are you calling a bitch?” Liberty shot back.
“Y’all ain’t gon’ fade though!” Kordell’s stupid ass egged them on, making Chaz, Ishmael, and I look at him. I didn’t even realize Sammi’s ass was here until I did so.
“When I’m talking to him, you need to wait your fuckin’ turn with your rude ass!” Markisha hissed, just as Laine came back.
“Bitch, you don’t make the fucking rules! I speak to Mischief when I feel like it! You—” Liberty growled, and before she was done, they started throwing hands.
“Are they fighting over you?” Laine pointed to the brawl, as two random dudes tried to break it up. “I know these bitches ain’t fighting over my nigga!”
I forgot Laine’s ass was psycho too.
“Baby, no, chill. Let it go.” I was silently praying that she listened to me.
“No, why the fuck are they fighting over you? Only time a bitch fights over a nigga is if she’s fucking him. I swear you better not be fucking them bitches!”
“I’m not, baby!” I frowned, hands thrown out with my lying ass. I mean, half lying. Currently I wasn’t fucking Markisha or Liberty, but I had. Actually, Markisha had only topped me off a few times.
Finally, the guys were able to pry Markisha and Liberty apart. To my surprise, they both had bloody noses. I was sure Markisha was gonna fuck Liberty up, but I guess I underestimated baby girl.
Liberty and I made eye contact as I kissed on the side of Laine’s face and supple shoulder with my arm draped around her. I gave Liberty a look to let her know not to say a damn thing. I wasn’t sure if I made it clear the night we fucked, but I was letting her ass know now.
She simply nodded, before snatching her body from the dude and leaving the party.
Chapter Nine: Laine
Two weeks later…
Erynne was coming back out here tomorrow afternoon, and she told me she was very close to making the choice to move out here. I was so happy, but I didn’t want to get too worked up and she change her mind. Erynne wasn’t as liberated as me when it came to stuff like that, so to just up and move to a new state with no job wasn’t as likely for her as it was for me.
“Thank you,” I smiled at the Victoria’s Secret cashier. I bought some new panties, lingerie, and some more perfume. I wanted to have a date night with Mischief because he always took me to nice places and did things for me. I felt like we had to be 50/50 in this though.
I walked out of Victoria’s Secret and sat down on the bench in the middle of the mall so I could call my grandmother. We usually talked three times a week, but she hadn’t answered for the past two days. That was unlike her because my grandmother stayed on the damn phone. She had nothing else to do, so when I called she always picked up. It had me worried, but I tried to psyche myself out so I wouldn’t think badly. If she didn’t answer today, I was gonna book a flight.
“Hello?” my uncle Ernie answered the telephone, causing my words to get caught in my throat.
“Put my grandma on the phone,” I replied rudely once I got my mind right.
“If it isn’t my favorite niece. I missed you. Been thinking about you and that body you used to flaunt around the house for me.”
“Put her on the phone before I call the fucking cops!” I yelled, making a couple that walked by look at me. I bucked my eyes at them saying ‘what?’.
“She’s not feeling well at the moment, Laine.”
“Okay, I’m calling the police—”
“Hold on.” He cut me off and it sounded like he was getting up off of the couch. When I heard him telling my grandmother she had a phone call, and then her reply, I sighed out of relief that she was okay.
“Laine?” she got onto the phone with her shaky voice.
“Hi, Ma, I’ve been calling you and you haven’t been answering.”
“I hadn’t been feeling too hot this week, sweetie pie. How is California?”
“It’s great, really great. You got the money I sent you, didn’t you?”
“Yes, of course, thank you. When are you coming to visit me? These phone calls aren’t enough anymore.”
“How about in two weeks? I can get out there and stay for a whole week.”
“That’s perfect. I miss you so much, Laine. Your mother called Monday wanting to speak to you, and when I told her you were in California, she said she’d come visit.”
“I hope not.”
“Don’t be like that, Laine. You have to forgive.”
“She’s still with the man that tried to rape me when I was eleven years old, Ma. And then I come to Chicago, only to have to deal with it from her brother—”
“Stop, Laine. Leave your uncle out of this. Now I have to go. Call me when you get in town.” She hung up the phone before I could respond.
She hated for me to talk to about my uncle Ernie trying to sleep with me. Denial I guess. I couldn’t see myself loving anyone to the point where I would blatantly ignore their monstrous flaws. Maybe she just didn’t believe me.
As I stared at my phone like it was my grandmother, someone sat next to me on the bench. I scooted down some, and looked to see it was that hoe Sammi.
“He isn’t what you think,” she said, staring straight ahead at Victoria’s Secret. “I know him better than anyone,” she added when I didn’t reply.
“Girl, please, kill that. I’m not in a good mood, so it’s best you leave me alone.”
“He’s so nice at first, and makes you think he’s gonna heal all the wounds that the last guy caused. You start thinking you’ve found the greatest guy in the world. And then when you fall in love with him, he backs away like he doesn’t know what’s going on.” She laughed angrily as a single tear traveled down her face. I knew Mischief had slept with her, but I didn’t know she had such strong feelings for him.
“That’s because you were fucking with Mischief, while I have Shai.” I stood, and she looked up at me with an abundance of tears drenching her cheeks. “Aren’t you supposed to be in love with Ishmael? How and why are you crying over my man?”
I swear all these girls being so butt hurt over Mischief was pissing me the fuck off. Why were these rats so attached to him? It made me wonder if he once treated them how he treated me, despite him saying I was the first to receive such treatment.
“Because I love him, why do you think? And Ishmael, he’s done too much to me.”
“I don’t care either way. Just keep your feelings for Mischief to yourself. Be happy I didn’t slap your ass for professing your love for him.”
Her mouth opened but I power walked off.
I thought Tarik had bitches on his dick, but he wasn’t even close to Mischief. I have never in my life seen two hoes brawl over a man neither of them had. Usually, one of the participants in the
fight actually had the guy. But they better not have had him while he’s been with me, that’s for sure.
After stopping by Starbucks for an iced tea, I drove over to the studio to see Mischief. When I walked in, there were two girls sitting on the couch in little ass dresses, and one inside the booth. Kordell had his eyes bucked while smiling at me when I walked in, before nodding his head up to say hello. He was so messy but it was hilarious.
“Oh ladies, this is my girl, Laine. Baby, this is Cyn, Ashley, and Heidi inside the booth.” Mischief pointed to each one of them.
“Hey!” Cyn and Ashley beamed, wearing conniving smirks as their eyes scanned me from head to toe, sizing me up.
“Hi,” I said dryly.
As I walked over to Mischief and sat in his lap, the Heidi chick came out and got all in Kordell’s face. Thirsty ass.
“Looks like you gettin’ thick,” Mischief bit his bottom lip and squeezed my exposed thigh.
“I haven’t gained weight.”
“You have a little but I like it.”
“No, I haven’t.”
“I know your body, baby, trust me. Don’t tell me you about to make me a daddy,” he whispered against my ear as his large hand gripped my waist. I felt a sensation between my legs.
“You wish.” I adjusted myself in his lap.
“Maybe one day,” he grinned as he moved stuff around on his computer.
“How long y’all been together?” the one named Cyn asked. Her tone told me she didn’t approve of our union.
“Years, now stay out of grown folks’ business,” I said, making Kordell and Mischief laugh.
Chaz
Kordell’s and my show at the Roxy theatre was finally over, and I sweating like crazy. The night was wild though, and the show was sold out. There was nothing like looking down and seeing people singing along to your shit, and snapping pictures of you. As soon as we stepped off stage, we took photos and signed autographs for as many people as we could before we decided to leave. There were so many muthafuckas that we would have been there all damn night meeting and greeting.
Kordell and I went to the back to collect our things so we could leave and meet up with Mischief and Ishmael.
“Need a ride back?” Mischief appeared, holding hands with Laine.
It felt good to see my brother in love and shit, but I knew his secret was weighing heavily on him. Mischief usually couldn’t care less about much of anything, which is how I knew he really loved Laine’s ass
“Nah, I drove myself,” I replied, looking at Erynne who stood next to Laine.
She looked good in that outfit. She wore a light blue jean skirt, some heels with her toes out, and a shirt that exposed her back. Her short cut hair moved every time she looked around, and her supple mocha complexion looked lickable as always. Her already tight eyes, slanted even more as she looked at me for a few.
“Aight, good job tonight.” Mischief dapped me up, and then Kordell.
“Aye, Erynne, I can give you a ride back to Laine’s.”
“Oh, umm, she’s spending the night with Mischief and I don’t have a key, so I think I will just let them drop me off.”
“Nah, you can just come with me.” She hesitated for a moment as she glanced at Laine, before adjusting her purse on her shoulder and walking towards me. “I got her,” I told Laine, who was being pulled by Mischief. I had plans set for tonight already.
“I’m gone.” Kordell followed behind Cassie, eventually catching up to her and holding her body from behind.
“Remember, a meeting tomorrow evening, nigga. Nice job tonight.” Ishmael handed me my money and pressed on with weak ass Sammi.
“Is he like your manager?” Erynne asked as I made sure I had everything out of the small room.
“Ish? Yeah. He’s a trifling ass nigga in his personal life, but when it comes to business, he’s got his shit together. You ready?”
“I guess.”
I led her out through the back and once we made it my Chevy Tahoe, I opened the door for her before throwing my shit into the back seat. When I got into my car, I turned on the heat and my music, buckled up, and then pulled out into traffic.
“Where are we going?” Erynne asked, leaning back in the seat.
“Manhattan Beach.”
“It’s too cold for the beach, Chaz.”
Laughing as I switched lanes, I said, “We’re going to the city of Manhattan Beach, not the actual beach, baby girl.”
“Oh,” she giggled.
“You look nice tonight.” My eyes landed on her briefly to take in how beautiful she looked.
“Thank you. You did a great job up there on stage. The girls were going crazy for you, and I even saw guys there enjoying the music.”
“I would hope so.”
We made it to the city about twenty minutes later, since it was after 10 o’clock and there was no traffic. Once we got in the area, we stopped to get some food from Carl’s Jr. since it was the only thing open nearby, and then we took it to the Marriott hotel. I knew she was feeling some type of way about me bringing her to a hotel, but I just wanted to spend time with her and this was the only place we could do it.
After getting inside of the room and washing our hands, we sat down on the couch and started to dig in. We left the lights low, and just turned the TV on with the sound muted.
“She wasn’t there tonight,” she blurted before sipping her drink.
“I wasn’t surprised. Last time she came to a show was probably like nine months ago. She was sick tonight though.”
I ain’t want to tell Erynne about the baby Jade and I were having because I knew she’d shut down. I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted from this girl, but what I didn’t want was for her to cut me off because Jade was carrying my seed.
“Oh.”
“I’m happy you came though. When I saw you backstage before the show, my mood changed.” I leaned back against the couch and touched her sexy chocolate thigh. She tensed up. “Stop, Erynne.”
“What are we doing here, Chaz?”
“Chilling.”
“No, I mean what are we doing?” she pointed back and forth between us. “One minute you say we’re friends and the next you’re saying I improved your mood and touching my leg.”
Rising to my feet, I put my hand out to her, and she hesitantly slipped her small one into it. I led her to the bed, and climbed on top of her between her legs. She was nervous as fuck, holding her breath and shit.
“Breathe,” I instructed against her lips, and she exhaled heavily.
She gripped the sides of my face, and our lips crashed together for the first damn time. My dick immediately sprang up at the feeling of her soft body under mine, and the smoothness of her thighs under my palms. My hands continued to travel up her skirt until I felt her thin underwear. I started to yank them down as we continued to kiss passionately, and once I had them at her thighs, I just ripped them, throwing them off.
“Damn,” I grumbled, feeling how wet she was with my hands.
I slipped two fingers inside, and thank God she was tight. I would have been devastated like a muthafucka had the pussy been loose. I wasn’t into fisting bitches one bit.
“Ahhh, mmm,” she moaned against my lips as I sucked on hers, plunging my fingers inside of her while thumbing her clit feverishly. “Oh my gosh,” she cried as I sucked on her neck and continued to finger fuck her. “I wa-want the re-real thing, Chaz,” she panted, on the verge of cumming. I could feel her tightening around my fingers.
“Shhh, I just wanna watch you right now.”
I brought my lips back to her neck and continued playing between her legs until she whimpered and exploded. She laid there, breathing heavily as her chest rose and fell rapidly. I slowly removed my fingers from her opening, and tasted her nectar, which had drenched my fingers. Damn…
I got up to go wash my hands, and then came back out to undress down to my boxers. I helped her change, and let her put on my t-shirt since I ripped her panties.
/>
“We’re not gonna have sex?” she questioned as she pulled the shirt over her head. Her fucking body was amazing.
“Not tonight. Come on.” I peeled the covers back.
We got in, and she laid her head on my chest as I stroked her hair gently.
“If your fingers are that good, I can only imagine how phenomenal the dick is,” she joked, draping her arm over my abs. “Goodnight, Chaz.”
“Night, babe.”
“I’m gonna cuddle you like this all night to make sure you don’t leave.” She tightened her hold around my torso.
I just laughed as I continued to trail my fingers through her soft hair. After a little while, she had dozed off and I was right behind her.
Jade Benjamin
The next morning…
It was 10am and Chaz never came home from his show. I wasn’t sure where he was since he hadn’t texted or called me once. I would hit him up, but I was used to him initiating our conversation so I didn’t. He was probably at the studio pulling an all nighter, so I wasn’t gonna worry myself. I had some things to take care of today anyway. I didn’t have time to be worried about his ass.
BOOM!
I heard the front door open and close as I spread my body butter over my legs. A few moments passed, and Chaz came walking into the bedroom wearing the same clothes he wore to his show. Placing his keys and wallet on the dresser, he left out of the room and went into the bathroom without saying a word to me.
These days, I didn’t have the same drive I did when it came to my marriage and relationship with Chaz overall. I used to be so in love with him that he consumed my mind on the daily. Now, I barely thought about him unless I was at home or in his presence. I didn’t want a divorce yet because I wasn’t sure if my feelings had completely changed. I didn’t want to be done with him and then realize later that I was just going through something and needed him back.
I think the reason I had drifted from him was because we saw life differently. I wanted him to quit music and get a regular job. It wasn’t because of the money like I made him think, it was because of the women in his face and the lifestyle that came with it. Chaz paid all the bills like a husband should so I wasn’t complaining at all about him being a provider, but I didn’t want to come off as jealous. In fact, I don’t even believe I was jealous per se. There must be another word for it because as of late, when we were apart from one another I felt free, and like I could really be myself. I guess I just didn’t want to grow close to him again and he be this big superstar.
