“He has left already, but I will call him.” He grabbed the phone and dialed. “Hi, Justin. Good, good. Listen, Viktoria and I were wondering if we could have the twins in our room for the night.”

“You can have the twins as long as Viktoria doesn’t overdo it,” I heard Justin say through the phone, “and get herself worked up. If the twins need changing, make sure the nurse handles it. It’s too soon for Viktoria at this time. I will call in and ask the nurse to bring the twins into the room. Give my love to Viktoria.”

“I’ll tell her. Thanks, Justin.” He hung up and looked at me with a smile. “Viktoria, I know you were so happy to hear that. By the way, don’t worry; I will be taking care of the twins. You heard him, right, Viktoria? Don’t overdo it. The nurse will be bringing them over shortly.”

“Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson,” a young nurse said, coming into the room after a quick knock on the door. “We’re ready to bathe them, but I thought you might like to join me. If you want to, we can bring them here.”

  “That’s an excellent idea!”

“I am sorry; I didn’t get your name.”

  “Oh, sorry. It’s Angel.”

“Thank you so much, Angel.” I looked at her for a second. “Have we met before? You look familiar.”

“No, I don’t think so. I have recently moved here from Washington DC. Well, if you’ll excuse me now, I will go and get the twins.”

“I really think I have seen her before. I don’t usually forget familiar faces, especially beautiful women like her.”

“Viktoria, I’m going to get a cup of coffee. Is there anything you want?”

“Yes, get a cup of tea for me, please.”

A few minutes after he left, the nurse—Angel—came back in. “Here we are. All ready for our bath, if Mommy is ready.”

“Yes, I am. I’m a bit nervous, but I think with your help, I will be okay with it.”

“You undress one, and I’ll get the other. Then we’ll get a sponge; we’ll start with giving them a sponge bath now, and perhaps tomorrow, we will try the baby bathtub.”

“Oh my God! He has a finger mark under his arm. It’s some sort of birthmark. Angel, please check Alia’s underarm and see if she has any marks too.”

“Let me see … Oh yes! She does. It looks like a fingerprint; it’s an unusual birthmark.”

“Can you also check to see if she has any mark behind her ears?”

  “What kind of mark?”

“Any kind of birthmark, but dark in color.”

  “No, I don’t see any.”

  “Thank God! What a relief!”

  “What? Is everything okay?”

“No … I mean, yes. It was only a dream I had. More like a nightmare.”

“You should not be worried about the nightmares. It’s normal for a woman who just had a baby—and on the medication too—to have dreams that scare the living daylights out of her.”

“I don’t know. I am still a little bit scared. I think I’m still overreacting, but I just can’t stop thinking about it.”

“You know what, Viktoria? When I was younger, I used to hear my grandma praying into my ear every time she saw me. I always thought that prayer was a game. If you don’t mind, I would like to pray into their ears.”

  “What is it, Angel?”

“Only two little prayers that make the Angelic Rosary airy.”

“Brandon,” I said when my husband walked into the room, “Angel is about to pray something into the babies’ ears. I suppose it is just to comfort them.”

“Invocation of the Nine Choirs: Brilliant Seraphim, I call to thee; circle round, bring love to me. Mighty Cherubim, guard my gate; remove from me sorrow and hate. Thrones stand firm, stable be; keep me steady on land or sea. I call dominions, leadership true. May I be fair in all I do. Circles of protection, powers form. Help me weather any storm. Miraculous Virtues hover near. Element energies I summon here. Principalities bring global reform; bless the world and each babe born. Glorious Archangels, show me the way to bring peace and harmony every day. Guardian Angel, Goddess delights, bestow your guiding light upon my family.

“And Gabriellele’s Prayer: Hail Mary, full of grace, God is with you. Blessed is the fruit of your womb, the Consort and Son. Holy Goddess, Mother of Earth, work your mysteries for your children, now in the hours of our need. Therefore, mote it be.

“Those two are my favorites,” she said. “I really like them.”

“They were beautiful; I am touched. Thank you so much. I will pray them in their ears when I get the chance. Will you write them down for me, so I can read this to my family? I already feel so relaxed. Don’t you think so, Brandon?”

  “Yes, I do. Thank you.”

“Sure, Viktoria, it will be my pleasure, but don’t forget that it does work every time. Would you like me to leave the twins with you?”

“Yes, please. They are already sleeping; we will be just fine.”

“Well, they should be up for milk in a few hours. Please come to the nurses’ station, so I can give you the milk for feeding.”

“Thank you, Angel. You are a real angel.”

  “Thanks.”

Another nurse came into the room. “Excuse me, Angel? There is a phone call for you.”

“Okay, Lillian, wait for me; I am coming.”

“Hello, Nurse Angel speaking,” she said.

I could hear the voice on the other end.

“Hi, Gabriellele, it’s me. How is everything? I believe Michael and the elders already told you what we need you to do.”

“Yes, don’t be concerned; it is done. Everything went as it should have. Nothing happened, except that she said she recognizes me.”

“Try not to stay around her too long. Also change your voice; Viktoria is really good with voices. She could tell who was who even if she were blindfolded. If there is anything unusual or if you have any suspicions, just let me know. Just before you leave, Leila should be there to make sure Viktoria and Brandon keep an eye on the twins. They will be taken care of by Leila.”

“How long are we going to have to keep this up?”

“Until we find Lilith and the time goes back.”

“What do you mean? I thought you and the elders did it? Reversed time, I mean.”

“No, the elders and I froze time for one minute to prevent Viktoria from falling into the demons’ loop of fire. Unfortunately, Lilith used that against us and took the time back. In one way, it is to our advantage, but in another, we have to wait for Damien. When he turns six, he’ll understand his powers. Also, we have to wait for Lilith to return.”

“What if you cannot find her?”
