The Preacher's Lady Page 19

by Lori Copeland

A knowing smile brightened Bo’s eyes. “Well, I’m home now. I could get Richardson here within the hour to marry us. I say about everyone in town is here or nearby. What do you think?”

  “Are you serious?”

“Dead serious. I’ve waited seven years for this day.” Bo stood and pulled her up to join him. “I don’t want another thing to interrupt what clearly God desires for us. Besides, the whole town will be dropping by to congratulate Adele soon enough. They can stay for a wedding. Say the word and I’ll get Richardson.”

There was no doubt in Elly’s mind that their union was providentially inevitable. As the baby discovered the power of his lungs, his cries intensified.

“Who needs an hour? I can be ready in thirty minutes.” She wasn’t about to give him a spare second to change his mind.

Their lips met and her eyes closed in heavenly bliss. The kiss deepened to a silent promise of the forever love they’d sworn to each other so very many years ago. All her prayers had been answered—and who knew what new dreams lay just around the corner?

Everything was about to begin. All in God’s good time.
