Our final dress rehearsal goes smoothly and this time my shorts stayed on. Great news for my sore vagina, bad news for Vin’s raging monster. I don’t think we’ll ever be in that bed without him being like a steel rod. I’m flattered and anxious all at once. Trust me, I love his penis and the sex, I’ve never had such great sex before, but he’s intense and my lady bits are in permanent state of ouchie. But, she’s also a floozy who perks up whenever the bean stalk is close by.
I make Vin swing by Adri’s to pick her up, it’s our tradition to get ready together for every party.
“My bitch!” She squeals, coming down her driveway.
“My ho!” I squeal back, hopping out of the hummer.
We collide in a heap of arms and legs. This girl will always be my forever, we were meant to be soul sisters.
“I have so much to tell you.” She says to me, sliding in the backseat. “Vincent.”
“Hey Adri, I like the new pink highlights.” He responds. We both look at him with shocked expressions.
“What? I do, they suit her.” He shrugs.
She squeals again and throws her arms around him and the driver’s seat.
“My Vin is back.”
He awkwardly pats her arm, “I’m trying to let shit go, I have been getting good advice from my girl.”
She sits back with a smile on her face as we pull out of her driveway and I link my hand in his. He looks at me softly and I mouth a thank you. It’s a good start, now I can only hope things go as well with his brother.
Vin drops us off, making us promise to be ready in an hour.
So not happening.
We head inside, my aunt and uncle are in the kitchen and whatever they made smells divine. Our growling stomachs force us in that direction.
“Girls! Aunt Debby made beef sliders!” Uncle Scott says in greeting.
“Hey baby girl.” My aunt kisses my cheek, “have some food. Hello Adrianna! Gosh your hair looks fantastic!”
“Thank you Aunt Debby.” Adri beams.
We quickly eat some food with the family, both of us being lectured on alcohol and drugs.
Finally, upstairs we get started on clothes, hair and makeup. I decide on a strapless leather bandage dress that hits mid thigh and a set of four-inch stilettos. Adri is wearing leather pants and a red corset top. We both sit at my vanity while I put in heated curlers and she straightens her curls.
“What did you need to tell me?” I ask.
“Okay, don’t be mad.” This should be good. I roll my eyes. “I’ve been keeping something from you.”
“Spit it out.”
“Travis and I slept together at Vin’s party but you know that. Things got really awkward because he blurts out the next morning that he doesn’t want a relationship.”
That asshole wait till I see him tonight. He will be explaining himself and his douche actions.
“Anyways, I was obviously pissed and didn’t talk to him. Until… this past Monday.”
“What happened on Monday?” I ask.
“I missed my period.” She whispers.
“What?!” I screech. “Did you not use condoms?!”
“Shhh!!!” She covers my mouth, “there weren’t any, and I didn’t want to fuck up the moment. I knew he’d back off if I did. I took the risk.” She shrugs, she just motherfucking shrugs.
I slap her arm, “I am not ready to be an aunt!! And we’re not ready to stop partying!!” I slap her again.
“Let me finish, psycho!” She yells, “anyways, on Monday I approach him and tell him I’m four days late. He got real pale and I was worried he’d pass out. Then he made an appointment with the doctor for this coming Monday.”
“You’re not gonna be able to drink with me tonight.” I whine.
“Wait! Anyways, he’s been looking after me all week, driving me home because of your rehearsals and making sure I eat. We’ve also been talking more and trying to figure out what we’ll do for our future.” She runs her hand down her sleek straight hair. “I got my period today, and when I told him, I swear he looked sad as hell.”
I exhale with relief, she is way to young to be a mother, look at my mother for example, everyday was a struggle. I hug her to me and kiss her head.
“You need to talk to him, explain that a family comes after stability, love and trust.” I tell her.
“I will.”
We do our makeup, both in nudes and I take my hair out of the rollers and leave it big and bouncy.
“Em!” Shit, the bean stalk is here, tell me why my floozy pussy is perking up? Bitch simmer down and relax.
“Yeah! We’re almost done!” I yell back.
“He just walks into your house screaming for you?” Adri laughs.
“Pretty much.”
Vin is chilling with my aunt in the kitchen when we finally go downstairs. She’s feeding him sliders and they are laughing about something.
“Hey!” I exclaim, “she’s married, you know?”
“Unfortunately.” He pouts. I love this easy-going side of him. These last few weeks have really opened up his humour.
“You kids have fun tonight. Your uncle and I are so excited to see the performance tomorrow!” My aunt Debby exclaims.
“Aunt and Uncle is such a mouthful to say. How about we try Ma and Dad? I had a mom so I hope you don’t mind Ma?” I continue, “I know my adoption came through.”
Aunt Debby starts crying-full out sobbing-and Uncle Scott runs in the kitchen. “What is it?”
“Ember wants to call us Ma and Dad.” She forces out between hiccups. I watch my uncle’s tears roll down his face and I can feel my eyes filling as well.
“Ember, we would be so incredibly honoured.” He wraps me up in a hug.
“We better get going,” I hug them both, “see you later Ma and Dad.”
“I never thought I’d hear that.” I hear my ma say to Dad.
Huh.
It’ll take some getting used to but it feels right. We’re all quiet as we head out to the limo bus Vin rented. We don’t drink and drive.
“That was amazing, Ember.” Adri says. I nod and smile at her.
We pull up to the school and go through the exterior entrance into the theatre. Danny pulled his magic and the ambient lighting is low and soft. I see on the stage they have set up tables with different types of alcohol and snacks. People are already dispersed into groups chilling out in the seats.
“Wow.” I exhale in awe. “This is amazing.”
“Yeah,” Vin smiles, “see the set up over there? Guitars, drums and the mics?”
“Yeah?”
“A few stagehands and drama actors have a band as well, they play for us every year.”
“Really? Like open mic?”
“Yeah.” He nods.
“I’m totally singing with them tonight.” I point at him, “after a few shots.”
I hear a slight commotion at the door and see Shay arguing with a drama student.
“What’s going on?” I ask Vin.
“Probably Marlana and her crew wanting in. They’ve come every other year.”
“Let them, more entertainment the better.”
“I don’t understand women.” He mutters as he walks towards the door.
“Tonight, just got interesting.” Adri says rubbing her hands together.
“Why?”
“Because that bitch has been here every year with Vin, you think she’s going to like seeing you in her place?”
I shrug and drag her over to the alcohol. I just want to drink and chill out. Let flamingo head try her darnedest tonight, I won’t let her get to me. Adri and I take three consecutive shots of tequila-it’s like our thing-and grab a beer each.
“Oh, wow.” Adri says in her catty voice. This should be good.
I turn around and while I’m sipping my beer, I see the brightest, most obnoxious shade of purple hair. I choke and end up spraying my beer across the stage.
“Shit!” I grab some napkins off the table and s
tart wiping the beer off the stage floor.
“That’s right, that looks about right where you belong.” Her whiny voice is like nails on a chalkboard.
“Listen, you eggplant looking, radish eating Teletubby,” I hear Adri spray her beer too, fucking great, “watch your fucking mouth before I decide, I really want to fuck you up.”
Marlana’s face breaks out into splotches of red as everyone-including her own crew-laughs at my slam on her hair.
“Honestly, the first day I saw you, I knew you would mess everything up. I knew you would screw up my life.” She grinds through her teeth.
I stand up, towering over her on the stage. “You made those choices, blame yourself.”
“You’ll get yours, Emberlise.” She sneers out my full name.
“And you sound like a stalking ass ho.” Adri sneers right back.
Eggplant scoffs and walks off, snapping her fingers to her crew of dogs to follow. They do, all except Shay. She looks up to us and starts walking up the stairs to the stage.
“Shay!” Anal Ram screams out, “get over here!”
“I’m good,” she waves her off, “I’m gonna chill here.”
Marlana gets a stunned look on her face and turns quickly on her heel. Her and her dog pound sit together in the far-right back corner and talk shit among themselves. I look over to Shay with my eyebrow raised.
“It was never this bad,” she explains, “since you came here and Vin showed interest, she’s become unhinged. I love some drama, but I’m warning you Ember, she has something planned.”
“I’m not worried.” I shrug.
“So, welcome to the dark side.” Adri holds out her arms. They laugh together and start chatting it up, that’s great, but I’m a little less trusting. This could all be a huge scheme from Marlana. I won’t tell Shay to back off but I won’t be letting my guard down either.
My attention gets adverted from Shay when I hear the band setting up behind me. I really want to sing it’s been so long. And I don’t mean the chirpy stage songs, I really want to do a raw song full of feelings.
I know just the one. I down another shot of tequila and head towards the band.
After I’ve talked to them, explaining which song I wanted to sing and with just a couple of guitars, they are pretty psyched. Luckily for me the two guitarists know the song. I sit in front of the mic with a set of bongos and begin in a cappella ‘Lullaby’ by Niykee Heaton. I love this song so much and it really feels like it connects with me and who I am.
The guitars cut in and I use the bongos for the deep beat. Everyone stops talking and all look to me. Vin is leaning over the back of the first row of seats, the heat in his eyes turns my voice huskier than it was. I close my eyes and let my body sway with the song.
Too soon it’s over and I’m already wanting to do another one. People are clapping and yelling my name.
I thank each of the guys and they make me promise to contact them for appearances at their gigs. I nod and take some info but I know don’t have time for it anytime soon.
Suddenly I’m picked up bridal style and moved briskly to a dressing room I know very well. He kicks the door shut behind him and places me in front of the vanity.
“You know what to do,” he says, undoing his pants. “Leave the shoes on.”
My dress falls to the floor and he groans when he sees I’m completely bare underneath. His pants and boxers fall to his thighs and his large pierced cock stands proudly. I do know what to do, I bend over the stool, placing my hands on the vanity top and spread my legs.
“Give me what’s mine.” I say smugly. He doesn’t keep me waiting and slams into me. The intense burning catches my breath and he stalls.
“Baby?” His hand wraps around my throat, pulling my face up so we can meet eye to eye in the mirror.
“Just take it slow. Let me adjust.” I reassure him.
He pulls out slowly and pushes back in with his hand still around my throat and his other playing with my clit. Soon the pain goes and all I feel is my wetness and pure pleasure. He is assured by the noises I can no longer keep in and begins to really fuck me. His piercing dragging along my g-spot with each thrust. I feel an intense burst as my orgasm hits me, warm liquid coats both of us as I scream.
“I’m getting good at making you squirt huh?” His cocky grin meets me in the mirror. “This pussy loves her daddy huh?”
His words push me into another orgasm as he pummels me. Finally, he groans and I feel his release coat my insides.
“Gonna be hard to walk.” I mutter.
Vin goes and gets a cloth to wipe us both up and helps me back into my dress.
“Ember, I love you.” His grasps my chin.
“I love you.” I smile and press a kiss to his cheek.
I turn to smooth out my dress and notice the dressing room door is slightly open.
“Vin…”
“Yeah?”
“Didn’t you close that door?” I say pointing at it.
“I kicked that shit shut.” He stomps towards it and swings it open. Nobody is on the other side but that doesn’t mean shit.
“Please tell me it could’ve bounced back open?” I cover my face with my hand.
“Maybe…” His voice is not assuring.
“Fuck it. Let’s get back out there.” I growl. He nods and throws his arm over my shoulder.
When we come back out the band is playing ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ the Chris Stapleton version. The lead singer-a stagehand named Charles-has that bluesy singing voice down perfectly. I pull Vin by the hand to join the few couples dancing on the stage.
“This song is you, Em.” Vin whispers in my ear. His hands encircle my waist and pulls me in tight to him. I slide my hands under his hair to rest on his neck.
“Me?”
He places his lips against mine and nods. “Every lyric is you.”
I shiver at his words and pull him in closer as we sway to the song. As sweet as he is to me, I can still see most students give him a wide berth. Not one guy has looked at me twice since Vin and I have been together and I know it’s because he speaks with his fists.
As we circle around I see some people still sitting in the chairs and I notice Marlana and her crew are missing. I hope they left because I really don’t want to have to get blood on my dress. Shay is still here sitting by the band and I see Adri dancing with Danny. I catch her eye and she winks at me. I look around for Travis and see him leaning against the side of the stage, his eye is on Adri as she twirls and laughs at Danny. By the clench of his jaw and the hard glint in his eye, he’s pissed.
The band starts up ‘I can’t make you love me.” By Bonnie Raitt, but Charles makes it sound more like the Teddy Swims version. I watch as Shay saunters over and asks to cut in to dance with Danny. Adri nods with a wide smile and turns to leave them to it and almost smacks into Travis. Her hands fly up to his chest to stop herself from falling and he automatically wraps his arms around her and they start swaying.
Vin looks over his shoulder to see why I’ve stopped moving and spots them dancing, “about time his balls dropped.”
I start laughing and Travis looks over at us. He grins, shaking his head as Vin flips him off with a smirk. My heart warms as I watch their interaction, it’s improving each day and I’m becoming hopeful they can be brothers one day.
“Tomorrow night we’ll be on this stage.” Vin whispers in my ear.
“You’re not fucking me in that bed on performance night.”
He tips his head back and laughs, some people stop what they’re doing and watch Vin with a mixture of shock and curiosity. It’s not a regular occurrence to hear him laugh.
“Let’s get out of here.” He whispers in my ear. The floozy perks up even though it’s slightly painful to walk. I nod and we head off the stage.
“Wait Ember!” Charles says into the mic, “we were hoping for another song before you leave?”
I look to Vin and he shrugs, “I’ll remind him tomorrow about what’s m
ine.”
I shake my head at Vin and head up to the band. I ask them to play ‘In Bloom’ by Nirvana and end my night screaming into the mic, fucking amazing.
Chapter Fifteen
It’s performance night and my nerves are frayed, not for the play but because I still haven’t heard from Tommy. By now he would’ve gotten back to me, so there’s one of two things that could’ve happened. One: he was sent on a scout mission to see what the drug route the other gang is taking or, two: something bad happened to him.
I feel my hands are tied here, at least when I was in New York and he went off the grid I could find him. Now it’s just not possible and I would never call anyone else because I just don’t trust them. I need to convince my parents to let me go to New York for a few days to check it out. Maybe make a trip out of it with Vin.
We have the day off school to prepare for the performance tonight so I get to sleep in a bit and relax. I try to call Tommy again and it goes straight to voicemail. I leave him a scathing message telling him if he’s not dead, he’s going to wish he was. My phone pings and I scramble to open the messages.
Adri: I hate being at school hungover. Ur so lucky.
Ugh! I was hoping it was Tommy.
Me: How much you drink? Did you go home with Trav?
Adri: I may have totally molested the bottle of Jose Cuervo. U can fucking sing! Is there anything u can’t do?!
Me: But did u molest Travis?
I’m not letting this one go.
Adri: No. I might’ve told him not to touch me until he’s serious.
Me: Good for u. What did he say?
Adri: Nothing! He fucking said nothing! WTF is wrong with me?! I need to just forget him.
Me: Wait, he didn’t say anything?
Adri: He just nodded! Like that’s it!
Me: Shit… want me to talk to him?
Adri: No, I’m over it. I’m ditching. CU soon
I guess I’m getting ready for a boy bash session.
