Before she lost her nerve, she picked up her cell and sent a text to Casey.
Hey…do you have any single friends?
It was after two in the morning so Jill figured Casey would be asleep and she wouldn’t get a response right away. Knowing that gave her a little reprieve in the anxiety which just flared up for asking her dog walking friend for a hook-up with some strange lesbian. But when her phone chimed with a notification of a text, Jill’s heart nearly came out of her chest.
Would this be a single woman friend…you know the ‘gay’ kind?
Jill shook her head, “Why does she have to be such a smart ass?” Yes
You want to take a walk on the wild side…do you?
OMG…if you’re going to be all jerky about it then just forget it. Jill was starting to get pissed. It took a lot of courage to take the first step and she didn’t like being teased.
I’m sorry, just teasing you a little. I actually have a person I think you’d hit it off with. I’ve been telling her about you, so she knows you’re a lesbo virgin and is okay with it.
Jill’s face twisted up with a confused expression. Why wouldn’t she be okay with it?
Well because some gay women wouldn’t want to meet someone they might really like only to have their heart ripped out when the virgin just wants to sew their oats or the straight woman is no longer curious.
Jill’s eyes grew large, she didn’t realize people would change their minds and go back to being straight. “Well, I guess if they realize it isn’t something they really wanted…”
Oh…okay. Jill replied back. Maybe she would be the same way, think it was something she wanted only to find out it was just curiosity. She certainly didn’t want to hurt anyone. Doubt began to rise up in her and she started to rethink this whole idea. “Really…me a lesbian?” she said aloud ready to send Casey a text telling her she had reconsidered. But before she could, another text came through this time with a picture.
Her name is Meredith. She’s forty…doesn’t have any kids. Oh, and she loves dogs. Has three of them.
Jill was taken aback, the woman was very attractive…almost Mediterranean looking. Shoulder length black hair and very dark eyes. Her smile was closed-mouthed, but she could imagine with a full on smile her teeth probably shined white against her olive tone skin. Jill wasn’t sure how she should respond…this woman looked perfect on paper.
She’s an investment banker, lives in Manhattan, she’s about five-ten, and I guess that’s about it. Anything else you want to know you’ll have to ask her on Friday night.
Jill’s eyes opened wide as she typed into her phone. This coming Friday?
Yup
How are you making a date already? She doesn’t know anything about me, shouldn’t you send her a picture of me? Jill’s innards began to twist in excitement.
Already did…sent her all your details. I knew it wouldn’t be long before your curiosity got the better of you.
How very proactive of you. Jill responded unable to remove the smile from her face. Will you watch Molly for me?
I’m coming too, Jackie and me. You’ll need a buffer since this is your first time and all.
So now it’s a double date? Jill felt a little relief, she wasn’t sure she was ready for a ‘date’ date.
Kinda
But I can’t leave Molly alone.
You won’t have to…we are coming there.
Jill’s face contorted in confusion. Here? As in my place…why?
Why not, you have the best place and the views of Central Park are amazing.
Okay…what time? Jill’s insides began to shake.
How about 7?
Chapter 11
Jackie was staring at the text message on her phone for the last five minutes. It was from yesterday but apparently she never heard the notification chime and she didn’t see it until her alarm went off at 7:00 a.m. She had forgotten she texted Suzanne and now wished she didn’t.
So glad you are practicing law again. I’ll be in town tomorrow for a corporate meeting but thinking of hanging out for a few days. Haven’t seen New York in a while or you…maybe we could hang out on Friday. Let me know.
“Now what?” Jackie tossed the phone down on her bed as she stood. She needed to get to work. Mrs. Abbott was coming into the office at 11:00 a.m. so she needed to be in by 9:00 a.m. She hurried to the bathroom and pulled her usual sleep attire of panties and a tank top off leaving it balled up on the floor as she stepped into the spray of steaming hot water.
As she scrubbed her hair, she thought about seeing Suzanne. The thought gave her a juxtaposed feeling of dread and desire. She had a life again…she moved on. She had a fucking girlfriend. Jackie knew exactly what Suzanne wanted during this hang out on Friday and as much as she wanted to tell her to go fuck herself…she couldn’t help but remember their first time in a similar situation and that memory brought a twinge between her legs that she fought hard not to touch. Masturbating to the memory of Suzanne’s face or naked body would be ridiculous…she had a girlfriend, she was happy and sexually satisfied. The only thing was she wasn’t in love. Casey didn’t have Jackie’s heart and even though it was still healing from the obliteration, it still contained remnants of the love she had with Suzanne.
Can’t…having dinner with friends and my girlfriend. Jackie texted back hoping Suzanne would bow out gracefully. She didn’t want to give Suzanne the satisfaction…she was not some sad, lonely and heartbroken fool. Jackie had moved on, and she would be damned if she let that southern bitch dig her claws back in.
How about after?
There it was. Jackie knew Suzanne only wanted a hookup. “What a fucking bitch. She doesn’t even care that I have a girlfriend. No way…I’m not running or jumping just because you say so.” But her body began to betray her as her mind filled with images of Suzanne with legs open, hands tangled in Jackie’s mane as breathy moans filled the air around them. It was like a forbidden fruit…sweet and dangerous and Jackie could lick her all day. Her resolve faded with the memory as her hand found her almost painfully swollen clit.
Where are you staying?
The Carlyle, Parkview Suite
I don’t know what time I’ll be there.
I’ll leave a room key with guest services, just wake me when you get here.
Jackie dropped the phone…she was still naked and hair half wet and cursed Suzanne as she slid herself back into the bed and delivered herself orgasmic relief.
It was just after 10:00 a.m. when Jackie darted into her boss’s office with arms filled with files. He wasn’t in yet or at least wasn’t in his office to see that she was later than he’d said to be there. But it didn’t matter if he was miffed about her tardiness, after what she had found…he would want to kiss her.
She needed to get him up to speed knowing he would want to update his client. After laying out all the discovery onto the small conference table in his office, Jackie then loaded the power point on her laptop which would display on a forty inch flat screen monitor secured to the wall directly in front of the table.
Jackie was excited, she found the loophole the defense was using to try to keep the divorce valid and force Jillian Abbott into signing the settlement proposal. She knew there was something fishy with the power of attorney Mr. Abbott was using as his trump card. Jackie’s face bore a large smile as she thought about this find…knowing it would be her boss’s victory which would also mean it was her victory. She knew Jeffrey Collins was not only a good lawyer; but an honest one…unlike the partners at the law firm she quit over four years ago for that bitch. That hot, sexy bitch whose nipples would harden into such tight buds it was everything Jackie could do not to sink her teeth into them too hard. Jackie’s mind started to get away from her again. She shook her head willing the filth away. “There’s only one way to stop this thought train,” she said as she pulled her phone off the desk.
Can I see you tonight? Jackie hit send before her common sense prevailed.
A few minutes went by and she knew Suzanne was probably sitting in one of those stupid corporate ‘rah-rah’ sessions at the Carlyle with a shit-eating grin on her face.
Can’t tonight, have the firm’s dinner party.
Feeling a little deflated she closed the text without responding. What could she say? Anything could sound too desperate and she would be damned if she’d let Suzanne Brooks think her life sucked without her dominating presence in it. After all, she was getting her shit together and was on track to a normal life again. One that was pretty good until Suzanne stepped into it. Besides, she had a really cute girlfriend and was content with what they physically shared.
“Good Morning Jackie,” Jeffrey Collins said as he walked into his office with two cups of coffee. “I read the brief you sent me last night and I went over the power point. I just want to make sure I have all the legalese down before you abandon me.”
Jackie smiled and took the offered cup of coffee. “I’m not abandoning you. This is your case and it’s your find.”
“I want you in on this, I want you to take the credit for all the work you’ve done.”
“Jeff, this is all yours. Don’t worry, you got this. The power of attorney Mrs. Abbott signed while she was mentally incapacitated after her son died was a short form power of attorney. Its only purpose was to give Mr. Abbott full financial control over the company while his wife recovered from the traumatic event. She was so distraught that she didn’t know what she was truly signing.” Jill opened the power point and bought the slide up with her discovery. “See here, both of these lines were marked with an ‘x.’ It not only makes this power of attorney invalid but it also shows that Mrs. Abbott was under extreme duress. Mr. Abbott probably didn’t notice it either, it was Mr. Hardy that filed it and when he did....this is what he filed.” She clicked the advance slide button and shows the other ‘x’ on the form next to the line invalidating the power of attorney in case of incapacitation or incompetence. “They are trying to prove that Mrs. Abbott was emotionally incapacitated since the death of her child when she shut down physically and emotionally causing her husband to leave her, divorce her and remarry. Mr. Abbott may be under the impression that everything he did was legal, but then again he may not; either way we have an invalid power of attorney and a man who has committed bigamy. His current marriage isn’t legal, he is still married to Mrs. Abbott and therefore she still controls fifty percent of their assets.”
His smile was as wide as a Cheshire cat.
“I don’t want to burst your balloon. This could be a hard sell to a judge because it might come back that the court will honor the power of attorney no matter what Mrs. Abbott checked off or not. We don’t know how long Hardy’s reach is…so don’t show your cards on this…not yet anyway.”
“You’re right, can’t run right into the old man’s office just yet. He is too buddy-buddy with Hardy. What do you suggest?”
“I say we stick it to Mr. Abbott. Find the players involved with this little act of malfeasance. I’m sure there will be a tale waiting to be told or at least bought,” Jackie said as she closed the slideshow down.
“Damn…I knew you were brilliant,” Jeff said as he squeezed her into a bear hug complete with a wet kiss on her cheek. “You’ve earned the rest of the day off. It is beautiful outside…why don’t you take your bike out for a ride? Just be careful with this precious cargo,” he said as he playfully slapped her on the back.
“You know, I’m going to take you up on that offer. Maybe my girlfriend will want to have that lunch date after all.”
She didn’t even bother going back to her cubicle, the boss said she could take the rest of the day off and that’s what she intended to do. As she walked down the corridor, she could feel the eyes on her and enjoyed every bit of attention she was receiving. Her trousers were a bit tight leaving little to the imagination and her blazer was form fitting with nothing underneath it but a bra. She knew how to work it and get attention and she never minded who was staring although it was usually men gawking with no regard for decorum, she always hoped a few women enjoyed the view as well; although they were much more discreet.
As she approached the elevator, she began to text Casey not realizing the doors opened causing her to run into a woman exiting.
The impact caused Jackie to drop her phone, but instead of giving it a second thought she held onto the woman’s arms preventing her from falling to the floor. As she helped the woman regain her balance she smiled, seeing that the eyes of the brunette were fixated on her chest.
Once the woman righted herself she was captivated by the sleek business woman before her and her eyes travelled the length of her body, to the closure of her blazer and the soft billowy flesh which protruded the material just slightly, then to the nape of her neck, to her jaw line, her blonde hair, and her big, bright white smile. The woman swallowed hard when she heard Jackie giggle.
Jackie crouched down to pick up her phone, “I’m so sorry I ran into you.”
“Oh…no, no. It was my fault I wasn’t paying attention. Are you an attorney here?” Jill asked completely taken aback by this woman’s presence.
“Yes, I am. Can I help you with something?” Jackie asked as she pushed herself up from her heels which added a couple inches to her five foot, seven-inch frame.
“I’m looking for Mr. Collins? Jeffrey Collins.” Jill caught the lawyer’s gaze for just a moment then shyly looked away.
Jackie’s body turned halfway as she looked and pointed down the hall, “He is the last door on the left.”
Jackie had her head turned long enough not to see the woman checking out her ass in the tight trousers.
Feeling flustered and embarrassed, Jill quickly sidestepped the girl in the sexy business suit and hurried down the corridor slightly turning her head to smile back and say, “Thank you.”
Jackie got on the elevator, “That must be Jillian Abbott…not at all what I would have pictured.” Then her eyes grew wide. “Was that?” she wondered, thinking back to the berating she received a few days ago in front of her sister’s shop. “Nah…can't be.”
The elevator doors closed as she called her girlfriend.
“Hey there,” Jackie said in a jubilant tone.
“Hey. What are you doing calling me so early?”
“Boss gave me the rest of the day off…wanna hang out this afternoon? Go riding with me, maybe find a remote spot in the park for a little fun.”
“Can’t, I’m working today. Not sure when I’ll be done.”
“Isn’t there any way you could get someone to cover for you? I would really like to see you?” Jackie could hear a frustrated sigh come from the other end of the phone.
“No, I’m watching Molly today.”
Jackie knew the dog’s history and Casey was the only one the dog trusted, although she had met the German Shepherd a few times and the dog seemed okay with her presence there. She thought about suggesting a repeat of the last time she spent time with Casey and Molly, but really wasn’t in the mood to just hang in an apartment all day. She could have just stayed at work if she was going to be inside all day. “Okay, I guess I’ll see you Friday then.”
“You could come over here,” Casey said after hearing the indifference in Jackie’s voice.
“I wanna ride today, it’s too nice to be cooped up inside. Maybe after a bit…I’ll text you to see where you’re at.
“Okay…I’m sorry I can’t go. Still haven’t been on that infamous bike of yours,” Casey said as the sound of loud barking could be heard in the back ground. “I have to see what Molly is barking about. Call me if you get a chance to stop over.”
Jackie looked at the phone when the call ended and without hesitation she opened her text messages and sent one to Suzanne.
Taking the Harley out for a ride through Manhattan today…lunch plans?
It only took fifteen seconds to receive the response from Suzanne, nope…free as a bird.
Be there soon, have to go change and
get the bike.
An hour later, Jackie’s heart nearly dropped into her stomach when she caught sight of Suzanne standing near the curb in front of The Carlyle. She was beautiful…trouble was; Suzanne knew it. Jackie slowed the bike and cracked the pipes as she glided to a stop a few feet past her…she knew it was not a subtle attempt at a display of power, but she didn’t care. This was going to happen on her terms. Jackie smiled as she looked into her side view mirror to watch Suzanne saunter toward her with a searing smile.
It had been a few months since she had seen Suzanne and even though she hated her at times, the site of the woman she had loved still made her smile and Jackie was feeling particularly triumphant and quite self-assured. She was also especially familiar with the wide smile that spread across Suzanne’s face when she slowly strolled toward her. Hmmm, I know that smile. Not today, we are going to do this my way. Jackie thought as she stood bracing the bike between her legs so that her rider could secure herself on the rear seat. Her resolve almost nearly shattered when Suzanne slid herself against Jackie’s back and brought her arms around Jackie’s waist, but when she felt Suzanne’s hot breath on her neck and that sweet southern drawl whisper “I’m all yours” in her ear, she knew she was in trouble.
Chapter 12
“This is great Jeff,” Jill said as she sipped her coffee and stared at the monitor on the wall and the last slide of the presentation. There was a name under Jeff’s, Jacqueline Evans and she wondered if it was the blonde she bumped into at the elevator, the blonde with the incredible cleavage or some older woman fermenting behind a desk. She chastised herself for being so obvious about scoping that she didn’t get a chance to look into the eyes of the woman. After she had seen the smile on the woman’s face, she knew she had been caught gawking and was immediately embarrassed. She should have looked the woman in the eyes and at least have said ‘hello,’ much less ‘excuse me for knocking into you and causing you to drop your phone.’ Jill inwardly sighed wondering why she was so girl-crazed all of a sudden, she didn’t remember being this way before…before she realized. She thought maybe it was just a hypersexuality state…making up for lost time. She grinned and shook her head of the filth beginning to invade.
