She’s reading her textbook and every now and then looking up at me. I’m rubbing her feet and thinking about her and all we’ve gone through.
The Fallen Kings eventually came back to town… and they didn’t forget about what happened. They threatened us and Madison’s life. Luckily, we already had a plan in action before they got back. We may or may not have had something to do with the raid that went down at their club. Sometimes it pays to have the police on your side.
Sometimes my chest gets tight just thinking of losing her and I can’t focus, I can’t work, I can’t do anything. In those times, I always find my way back to her and hold her close.
“You’re not drinking your cocoa,” I comment.
She shakes her head side to side. “Nope, I wasn’t really wanting cocoa.”
I run my hand up and down her legs and I can see the desire in her eyes. “Oh yeah? What did you want?”
She slowly puts her feet on the ground. “My husband. In bed. With me.”
I nod my head at her. “I think I can make that happen.”
“I love you, Ben.”
“I love you too, princess.”
