I sigh with pleasure, allowing myself to fully relax in his arms.
“That you did. We both won,” I agree softly.
A year of happy memories stretches behind my eyes, making me smile in my mate’s arms. This is what I’ve always wanted, what I’m looking forward to as the years pass. It’s what I want for Kassie too. The Spiced Pumpkin family is about to grow, and I couldn’t be more excited!

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed Bodi and Lynn’s story as much as I loved writing them. This story was a long time in coming. I’ve been wanting to write Bodi’s story since he first made an appearance with his sister Erra in The Orc Wife. Their father, being both a warrior and a scholar really shaped a lot of how we understand his character in that he’s raised with a lot of tradition around him but also the rebellious need to circumvent it even, unlike his twin, as he follows down his father’s footsteps as a warrior. He plays as a bit of a jokester on the surface, but I’ve always felt that there was something more to him that would make the perfect mate for the right woman. I just hadn’t discovered my heroine or her story.
Then it came to me, since he is a bit of a lighthearted character, why not give his story, while possessing an air of mystery, a certain sweetness that can come with a harvest festival. In a way this book is more of a duet because it ties directly to the novella that follows, Trick or Orc, for autumnal enjoyment for the Halloween season!
As you can probably guess, Trick or Orc will reunite Garval and Kassie for a bit of Halloween fun and romance!
Coincidentally these books are coming out in October which has been dubbed on the internet as “Orctober”. It works for me just fine! It may even start a new tradition.
As for the Bright Bloods; it seemed to me that the natural progression of things would include resistance in the fae world with humans suddenly becoming a large presence there, just as there are humans who are resistant to fae in Ov’Ge. I touched on them briefly in this book but expect to see more of them!
