A Second Chance at Forever (Chance #2) Page 16

“Why? What happened at the hospital?” She stepped up to my side.

I turned to look at her. She was beautiful in her tiny shorts and tank top, no makeup and her hair soaking wet, hanging down around her face.

“She was never pregnant.” I smiled.

“What?” Lennox asked, covering her plump lips with her hand.

“She lied. She was never pregnant.” I took another drink of Jack.

Lennox reached over and took the bottle from me, taking a long drink herself.

“I can’t believe this. I can’t believe she lied. Who does that? Didn’t she think you would eventually notice?” she asked in a rush, her cheeks turning to that pink color I loved so much.

“I didn’t stick around to ask questions after that.”

I found it funny that Lennox was just as pissed off as I was, if not more. I had mixed emotions about it all. I was pissed she would lie about something like that, but I was happy that I was no longer tied to her.

“She said she was scared she was going to lose me.” I took the bottle away and tipped it back.

“Wait, do you think she knew about our weekend?”

I frowned before looking up to her. “What do you mean?”

“Why would she be afraid to lose you unless she knew about what happened between us?” Lennox asked.

“How would she have known?” I asked, starting to think over everything.

Nicole acted like she knew something was going on between Lennox and me, but she never came out and accused me of cheating.

“I don’t know what to think. I’m getting a headache.” I closed my eyes and rubbed my forehead.

“Think about it, who could have told her?”

I thought to myself but couldn’t think of anyone.

“Anyone I guess. We weren’t exactly trying to keep it a secret when we were at the bar. Anyone could have seen us and taken those pictures.” I took another drink. I was feeling better just from talking to Lennox. Just knowing that there wasn’t anything keeping us apart for the first time in five years.

Why are you smiling?” she asked, a big smile of her own breaking out across her beautiful face.

“There’s nothing stopping us from being together now. Not Tennessee, California, exes, or possible babies. Nothing. We can do what we want for the first time in five years.” I sat the bottle down and stood up.

My body hummed with excitement, just from knowing that I could finally touch her again. She was all mine.

I dropped to my knees in front of her. I looked deeply into her emerald green eyes and slowly moved in for a kiss. The moment our lips touched, it was like a lightning strike. Goosebumps covered my skin, as a chill ran up my spine.

Her soft, plump lips touched mine and it sent a shock right through me. I threaded my fingers into her wet hair and held her to me, tasting her, breathing her in, feeling every ounce of love I had been trying to hold back.

Lennox wrapped her arms around my neck and let out a soft moan. The moment that sound escaped her lips, my hands moved to her hips.

I picked her up, straddling me, and walked her into my room.

“Mason, do you really think we should be doing this so soon?”

“Nothing is keeping me away from you ever again.” I moved my lips back to hers and laid her down gently as I covered her body with my own.

Her hands flew to the bottom of my shirt to yank it off. We broke away for only a second. When the shirt was off, I was covering her soft body once again.

It felt like her hands were all over my body all at once. Scratching down my back, wrapped around my neck, pulling me closer as her sweet tongue danced with mine.

I was painfully hard just being able to feel her soft skin against me. My heart slammed against my chest, as did hers. I could feel it beating wildly with my own. Adrenaline pumped through my veins, finally getting to take what had always been mine.

I kissed down her jaw to her neck, where I paused to pull her top over her head. Her perfect tits bounced with the motion causing my dick to twitch.

I continued to descend her body, trailing kisses on every inch of skin.

She gasped, “God Mason, I’ve missed you so much.”

“You won’t ever have to miss me again, baby.” I quickly pulled her shorts away and covered her body with my own.

“I need you now,” she panted, pulling my hair slightly.

I freed myself from my jeans and I placed myself at her entrance. I was inside her with one thrust.

I lowered my lips to hers and softly kissed her while moving in and out of her, slowly, not wanting it to end. Within minutes, she was falling apart. I forgot how beautiful she looked beneath me, it had only been a couple of days but it felt like a year.

Being able to see Lennox and not touch her was torture. I was a man starving for her, only her, no one else would ever satisfy the craving. Lennox had been my world, since the day I first set eyes on her. I couldn’t get over her. Everything I tried, never worked. Finally, I realized, nothing ever would. I had to have this girl, forever.

I pulled away and watched her as I pushed her over the edge. She bit her bottom lip and let soft whimpers fall from her lips while her entire body tightened with her orgasm. When it erupted and hit full on, her lips parted as her eyes locked with mine and her whimpers turned to moans of pure ecstasy.

Within minutes of Lennox falling apart beneath me, I shattered. I was so high, I didn’t ever want to come down. I thrust in one last time, filling her.

I laid my head on her chest, hearing her heart pound for me. I knew nothing would ever be the same, I had a taste of her years ago and nothing else compared.

Once our breathing evened out and our hearts had settled into a steady rhythm, I pulled out of her and fell onto the bed beside her. I slid my arm under her pillow and pulled her body close.

“I love you so much, Lennox.” I pressed a kiss to her shoulder.

  “I love you, Mason.”

Those were the last words I heard before falling into a deep sleep.

The sun shining through the windows woke me. It felt like the night before was a dream. I was afraid to open my eyes, in fear of seeing an empty bed. Lennox knowing me all too well curled up to my side.

“Good morning,” she whispered into my ear.

“Good morning.” I finally opened my eyes and turned to see her beautiful smile.

Her green eyes shined brighter than I had ever seen them. “What do you say to a shower?”

“What are we waiting for?” I replied, giving her the smile I knew she couldn’t resist. The smile I reserved only for her.

I chased Lennox into the bathroom, still naked from the night before. I caught her and spun her around, pressing her against the shower door.

I pulled her hands above her head before moving my lips to hers in a rush. I couldn’t wait any longer to taste her sweet lips.

She broke the kiss. “Hey, now.”

“What?” I asked against the skin of her neck.

“Can we at least get in the shower?”

I lifted my head so I could look her in the eye. “If you’re lucky.” I offered up the same grin I always gave her.

Her green eyes sparkled before she lightly pushed against my chest and stepped into the shower.

We emerged from the shower almost an hour later after Alissa stuck her head in the bathroom cursing us for using all the hot water.

“I guess we don’t have to fill her in about last night,” Lennox said, wrapping her towel around her gorgeous but bruised body.

“She’s smart, I’m sure she figured it out.”

Lennox and I dressed before heading downstairs for our morning coffee.

“It’s about damn time. I would like a shower sometime today, too.”

“Sorry, we had a lot of catching up to do.” I gave Lennox a wink.

Alissa rolled her eyes, “Gross, it was bad enough that I had to hear it last night. Please, don’t remind me while I’m eating my sec
ond breakfast.”

  “Your second breakfast?” I questioned.

“Don’t ask,” Lennox walked up to me, stealing my coffee.

I didn’t find it as annoying when she did it.

“I need to go to the shop today. I haven’t been in much lately.” I took my first sip of coffee.

“Okay. I would like to get out of the house anyway.” She took her coffee and headed back up the stairs.

I watched as she walked away.

  “Seriously, you’re making me sick.”

Alissa’s voice drew my attention away from Lennox’s ass that was walking away from me. “What? I didn’t even say anything.”

“I know what you were thinking by that look in your eye.” Alissa set her bowl in the sink.

I laughed and shook my head. “Shut up and take your shower.”

I found myself wandering upstairs to see Lennox. I peeked into my bedroom where I expected to see her, only she wasn’t there. I walked down the hallway and found her in the guest room curling her hair for the day.

“What are you doing in here?” I asked, plopping down onto the bed.

“All my stuff was in here. This mean guy made me sleep in this strange room, all alone.” She stuck out her bottom lip.

I let out a small laugh. “That guy sounds like a fucking asshole.”

Lennox laughed. “What are you doing? Are you just going to sit there watching me?” Her eyes met mine in the mirror.

“What’s wrong with that? I can finally look at you without causing problems. My eyes are starved of your beauty.”

She laughed at my stupid line. “That’s a load of shit if I ever heard one.”

“No, it’s not. Just sounded dumb.” I joined in on her laughter.

I forgot how easy it always was with Lennox. Nicole was different, we couldn’t just sit back and make each other laugh by smart-ass comments. She took everything to heart, with Lennox it was just fun. She didn’t over think everything. We could sit back and enjoy just being together. It didn’t matter if we were just fucking around or if we were in a serious conversation, she could always lighten the mood.

After the girls had finally gotten ready, we made our way toward the shop. Lennox and Alissa argued over the radio station the whole way. Lennox liked country music where Alissa preferred rock. She really was the perfect girl for my brother. I didn’t know exactly what happened between them all those years ago, but she really needed to get her head out of her ass and see that they still loved each other.

We pulled into the parking lot an hour later and made our way inside.

“Hey, Joe. Anything I need to do while I’m here?”

“Well, since you have been skipping out on work, we’ve had to have Jake and Trent here at the same time. We’ve been slammed and Trent couldn’t get everything ready and hold down the rental counter.”

“That’s fine. I knew you could run this place without me.”

  “Oh, I know. I expect a raise.”

“You got it.” I gave in without a fight. I really couldn’t have done it without her.

“There are a few things on your desk that need your attention,” Joey said as I walked into my office with Lennox and Alissa following behind.

I sat at my desk and began to look over the paperwork.

  “I’m hungry,” Alissa stated.

“No surprise there,” I said sarcastically, not bothering to lift my eyes from the paper I was looking at.

Alissa ignored me. “Let’s go grab some lunch at the bar while Mason finishes up.”

  “Okay,” Lennox agreed.

“Hey, I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but you really shouldn’t be going anywhere alone.”

“Dane will be there,” Lennox said with her hand on the door knob.

“Fine.” I gave up, I knew I wouldn’t win against those two anyway.

About thirty minutes later I had finished the paperwork and told Joey I was leaving for the day. I wanted to check on Trent before I left, so I headed down to the rental counter.

“Where the fuck have you been?” Trent asked when I walked into the building.

“Playing bodyguard. What’s been up around here?”

“Nothing new. Same shit. So, what the fuck is going on with Nicole?”

“Someone tried plowing through her car, or actually, Lennox’s car. Hit and run. But turns out, she was never pregnant.”

“I fucking knew it,” Trent said with a grin.

“I gotta go catch up with the girls. I’ll see you later. Let me know if you need anything around here.”

I made my way toward the bar and found Dane sitting at the table with Lennox and Alissa.

“What’s up, brother?” I asked, sitting next to my girl.

“Just trying to talk Alissa here into a date.”

  “She ain’t gave in yet?”

“I’m working on her.” Dane smiled

“I heard about Nicole, fucking crazy ass bitch,” Dane said never taking his eyes off Alissa.

“It’s all in the past now.” I stole one of Lennox’s fries and popped it into my mouth.

“You two finally kiss and make up?” he asked.

“You could say that,” I answered feeding her a fry.

Dane noticed and tried the same thing with Alissa.

She took the fry out of his hand and threw it at his face.

“Why can’t you be a normal girl?” Dane asked, after wiping the grease off his face.

“Would you like me if I was?”

  “Probably not,” he shrugged.

“I might have to try that then.”

We spent the afternoon hanging out at the bar, drinking, eating, and watching Dane make an ass of himself.

We finally made it home as the sun was setting.

I opened Lennox’s door and we started the walk to the house when we noticed the door had been busted open.

“Get back in the car and lock the doors. Call the police.” I slowly moved into the house.

I began looking through each room, nothing seemed to be missing and I didn’t find anybody inside. I made my way back to the girls who were shaken.

“The police are on their way,” Lennox said stepping up to my side.

“I couldn’t find anyone inside. Let’s check your rooms and make sure nothing is missing.”

We all walked upstairs and searched Alissa’s room first, nothing was missing. We made our way into Lennox’s room.

  “Is anything missing?” I asked.

“I don’t think so,” she said checking her stuff.

The police knocked on the door and took a report. I managed to get the door fixed but knew I would have to have a security system installed. We had just made it to bed when Lennox’s phone rang.

“Hello? Yes, this is Lennox Madison.”

She was quiet for a few minutes before replying, “Okay, thank you.”

“Who was that?” I asked, playing with a strand of her hair.

“The police, my apartment has been broken into. They said they locked up but I would need to check it out tomorrow and see if anything was stolen.”

“We need to put an end to this shit.” I turned off the light, not even fazed anymore.

Sleep didn’t come easy, I tossed and turned and so did Lennox. As soon as I would fall asleep, she would start tossing, waking me back up.

I heard my bedroom door quietly close and I instantly sat up, causing Lennox to wake up.

“Sorry, it’s just me,” Alissa said in the darkness.

  “What’s wrong?” I asked.

“I’m kind of scared. Can I sleep with you guys?”

Lennox laughed but allowed her to crawl in next to her. I didn’t mind either, it meant Lennox was that much closer to me.

  Lennox

“Ow Lennox, you’re crushing me,” Alissa whined from underneath me.

I had somehow rolled almost completely on top of her in our sleeping arrangement.

  “Sorry,
” I mumbled rolling away from her and back to Mason.

“We should probably get up. Our apartment was broken into last night too. We have to go check it out.”

“Are you fucking serious? I’m regretting the day I met you, Lennox Madison,” Alissa bitched as she rolled from bed.

“Shut up, asshole.” I tossed a pillow at her but missed.

Once Alissa was gone, I rolled back over to Mason. “Good morning,” I cooed in his ear.

He rolled over with a smile on his gorgeous face. “I will never get tired of waking up with you next to me.” He moved his lips to mine.

His soft lips moved against mine as his tongue swept out, tasting me. My heart fluttered in my chest as I wrapped my hands around his neck to keep him to me. I didn’t ever want to let go. I was still just as head over heels for him as I was the first day my eyes landed on his.

I broke the kiss before things went too far. “I won’t either,” I smiled down on him. “Now, get up. We have a lot to do today.” I smacked him on the chest and crawled from bed.

After everyone was showered and dressed, we met up in the kitchen to get our coffee fix and head to town to check out the apartment. After an hour drive, we finally made it. I was nervous about what I would find.

I can’t believe Chris is going to such lengths to make my life miserable.

We walked into the apartment and everything was trashed. The TV laid busted on the floor, my new couch and love seat had been slashed open, and my one remaining lamp had been busted.

“It looks like it’s just trashed more than anything. I really loved that couch too.” I wanted to stomp my foot, but refrained.

“Here,” Mason started to flip all the cushions. “Good as new,” he said, stepping back to admire his handy work and quick thinking.

“Thanks, that makes it a lot better now,” I said sarcastically.

We made our way into the kitchen where it looked like the cabinets had exploded. Flour was everywhere, eggs had been thrown against the walls, and cereal and chips had been poured out on the floor and stomped on, but nothing was missing in that room either.

Standing the in the middle of the trashed kitchen, Alissa dropped her hands to her side. “Let’s check our bedrooms.”
