“Oh, Fernando,” she whispered. “More.”
Taken aback, I growled and stood ramrod straight. “What the fuck? Seriously?”
Bursting out with laughter, she sat up, holding her arm over her breasts. “Did you honestly think I didn’t know it was you?”
“How?”
With pursed lips, she stared at me. “Come on now. I smelled your cologne and saw your shoes. Plus, Fernando didn’t massage me like that yesterday.”
“Was he better?” I asked.
A sexy smile lit up her face. “Surprisingly, no. I’m shocked at your skill level.”
“Good. Because I wasn’t about to let any other man touch you.” I handed her a towel, so she could cover up. Her smile widened and she slid off the table, her body so close to mine. I wanted to take her right then and there.
She looked up at me and kissed my cheek. “Okay, Mr. Alpha. Give me a few minutes and I’ll meet you up in your suite.” She walked into a separate room and closed the door.
I peered down at my dick and sighed. I was going to need a few minutes too.
Chapter Sixteen
Ashley
Pacing back and forth in my hotel room, I ran my hands through my hair. “Why am I so afraid?” My heart raced and all I could think about was what if I didn’t meet him in his room. What if I said goodbye for good and let him go? Would I regret it? Would I find someone else who could make me feel as alive as he did? The answer to the last question was simple . . . no.
Hurrying into the bedroom, I changed out of my clothes and into a pair of my holey denim shorts and a light pink tank top. It was time I let him see the fun side of me. It’d been a long while since I’d allowed myself to be free to do what I wanted.
Grabbing my room key, I stuck it in my back pocket, leaving my phone on the coffee table. I didn’t want it with me tonight. No distractions. Just a night alone with Lucas.
Pulse pounding even faster, I walk down the hall toward the elevator. It was always stressful trying to get anywhere in the hotel. I didn’t want the others to see me just yet. Sophia was going to be one pissed-off woman when she found out I was the one Lucas turned her down for.
The elevator opened and no one was inside. Breathing a sigh of relief, I pressed the button for the fifteenth floor and it took me straight up. His door was slightly ajar, so I knocked and peeked my head inside. “Lucas?”
He walked out of the bedroom, freshly dressed in a pair of khaki shorts and a navy tank top.
“Guess I dressed appropriately,” I said, pushing the door open.
His gaze raked up and down my body. “Yeah, you did. You look sexy as hell.” He grabbed me around the waist and kissed me. What shocked him was that I let him. His expression brightened and he smiled. “It’s going to be a good night.”
“What exactly are we doing?” I asked curiously.
Grabbing my hand, he swung the door open. “You’ll see.”
We hopped on the elevator and he inserted a special key into the slot that allowed us to go to the very top. When the doors opened, I gasped. Laid out before us was a private pool and a white cabana off to the side, with tons of fruits and vegetables from what I could see.
“Are we going to be alone up here?”
Lucas pulled me off the elevator. “Yep. Just you and me. I had a bunch of food brought up, along with some wine for you and beer for me.” My stomach growled and he laughed. “Come on. Let’s eat. Then, if you want, we can go for a swim.”
“I didn’t bring a bathing suit,” I informed him.
He looked back and winked. “Neither did I.”
We sat at the table and I loaded up my plate with grapes, carrots, and some mini broccoli quiches. I loved those things, especially at weddings. “It looks like a wedding reception feast,” I said jokingly.
He popped one of the quiches in his mouth. “That’s what it is.” He grabbed another one. “These things are my favorite.”
A small smile spread across my face. “Mine too. Seems like we got something in common.”
“We have lots of things in common, sunshine. We both play golf, love the same food, vacation at the same spot, and we’re attracted to each other. It’s a good start.” He poured me a glass of wine and I tapped it against his beer.
“Yes, it is,” I agreed.
“To take it one step further, you could let me be your date to the wedding next weekend.”
“Why do you want to go? Is it so you can keep Rhett away from me?”
His smile vanished. “Can you blame me? What if Sophia had asked me to be her date, and I had to think about my answer before replying? How would you feel about that?”
My stomach clenched and I raised my glass. “Touché.” He stared me down while I drank the rest of my wine. “I’ll give you an answer tonight. I promise.”
“Now that’s what I wanted to hear,” he replied, all smiles again.
I ate a few more quiches and washed it all down with a glass of wine. The cabana drapes danced in the air as the wind whipped by. The sound of the ocean played in the background like a soundtrack. Grabbing my wine, I walked over to the edge of the building, so I could look out at the water. The resort was quieter than most areas in Myrtle Beach. Greenery surrounded us, but if you drove a mile up the road, it’d be like you were in a different place. The resort gave you the illusion of being remote.
Lucas propped his elbows up on the rail, his gaze on the water.
“What made you choose to come here?”
He shrugged. “I don’t know. It was the first place that popped in my mind.” His eyes met mine. “I guess because it’s not far from Charlotte. Speaking of which, I’m hoping you’ll come visit me when we go back to our regular lives. I can take you to all the finest restaurants. We even have a whitewater center. I think you’ll like it.”
Excitement bubbled in my chest. “I’ve seen the whitewater center on the internet. Looks like fun.” The place not only had whitewater rafting, but zip lines, bike trails, and live music.
“Oh, it is,” he said excitedly. “We can get my brother to go with us, along with Noah and Harper.”
That got my attention. “Speaking of Noah and Harper, he seems to really be into her.”
Lucas nodded. “He is. I’ve never seen him like that with anyone. Turns out, Myrtle Beach was the place we were supposed to be.”
“What about Aiden? He doesn’t seem to be loving it as much as you two.”
He waved me off. “He met someone last night. He seemed pretty excited to be with her again tonight.” Hearing this made me laugh, causing Lucas to grin and wrap his arms around my waist, pulling me in close. “What’s so funny?”
I shrugged. “It all sounds like a romance novel. Three bachelors head to Myrtle Beach in search of love.”
He chuckled. “I like the sound of that. I might write it myself.”
“Yeah, right,” I replied with a snort. “What would you title it . . . Going for the Hole?”
“Holy shit.” He laughed so hard, he snorted. Then tears streamed down his face. “That is genius. I think I’m going to do it. You can help me.”
“How can I help?”
His arms snaked around my waist again. “You’ll have to help me with the ending. I don’t know how it’s going to turn out yet.”
Holding him around the neck, I pulled him close. “I’ll see what I can do.”
Our lips touched, and a fire ignited all throughout my body. Every feeling I’d suppressed came charging to the surface. It was exciting and scary all at the same time. He was famous, I wasn’t. And thousands of women around the world wanted him, but yet he was with me.
He gently pulled away, breathing hard and fast against my lips. “If you don’t want this to go any further, we need to stop.”
I could still feel the way his fingers kneaded into my skin—so sensual and full of need. For the second time since being with him, he’d shown me his vulnerable side. Maybe he was a player, but for now, I had him all to myself.
/>
Taking his hand, I slid it up my tank top to my breast. “I don’t want you to stop.”
His eyes flashed and darkened with need. “Are you sure?”
In lieu of an answer, I stepped back and lifted my tank top over my head, exposing my white lace bra. Unbuttoning my denim shorts, I slid them down my legs, along with my underwear. Lucas followed my every movement with a hungry gaze. “I’ve spent so long focusing on others, I’ve forgotten about myself.” Reaching back, I unclasped my bra, letting it fall to the ground. “For once, I want to feel alive.”
Lucas’ chest rose and fell with his rapid breaths. “Fuck, I want you so damn bad.”
“Then come get me.” I sauntered over to the edge of the pool and jumped into the water. It was cool against my skin, sending tiny shockwaves through millions of nerve endings, but nothing was going to help the ache between my legs.
Lucas flung off his shirt and shorts and dove in right after me. I swam to the edge of the pool, watching as he approached under the water. He surfaced inches in front of me, his body caging me into the corner.
I wrapped my legs around his waist, earning a deep growl from his chest. Eyes blazing with raw passion, he pressed himself against me. Gaze locked on mine, he brought his lips to my breasts. Biting my nipple, he sucked feverishly. My body broke out in chills.
“Cold?” he mumbled between licks.
I sucked in a breath. His mouth felt so good on my body. “Yes.” Everything inside of me tightened.
He backed me up against the pool wall and hooked each of his arms under my knees, spreading me wide. “Let’s get you warmed up.” Sliding his arousal between my legs, he thrusted against me, making my clit ache with each pump of his hips. I snaked my hand between us and slid it up and down his cock, hoping he’d quench my thirst.
Angling himself to enter me, I held my breath, loving the feeling of being stretched. He picked up his pace once he was fully inside. Using his hips to bounce me up and down, I held onto his neck for dear life, his grunting making everything inside me tremble. I didn’t want it to end.
“Ready to make things interesting?” he said, between thrusts.
“How so?”
Without answering, he gripped my waist with his strong hands and lifted me off his length. Turning me around, I now faced the pool wall. I gasped at how quick he moved me, my heart thumping wildly in my chest when he lowered his lips to my ear, biting down.
“You’re going to want to hold onto the edge, sunshine.”
My insides tightened in anticipation, nipples growing more and more sensitive as they brushed alongside the textured pool wall. I held onto the edge as he snaked his arms around my waist, pushing his rigid cock between my legs. I squeezed my legs around him, and he used my breasts to pull me up and down, his length sliding along my slit. I could feel my orgasm building and the moment my body clenched down, Lucas changed angles and slammed inside of me.
I bit my lip to keep from crying out as he rode me hard, rubbing his thumb achingly fast across my clit. The water sloshed around us, splashing the pool deck. I was about to lose my hold on the edge of the pool, but Lucas’ grip held me firmly in place.
“Fuck,” Lucas grunted. “I’m gonna come.”
Hearing him say that was my undoing; it was too late to hold back. The harder he pushed, the harder I came, trembling all around him. My orgasm went on and on, rippling through my body when Lucas dug his fingers into my hips and yelled out, cock pulsing as he came inside of me.
Breathing hard and jerking with aftershocks, Lucas kissed the back of my neck and rested his head against the back of mine. “Have you decided about the wedding yet?”
“Yes,” I answered breathlessly. “You can be my date.”
Chapter Seventeen
Lucas
“I’m surprised you’re not with Ashley.” Noah tried to hide his smile and failed.
I flipped him off. “I could say the same thing about you with Harper.”
He shrugged. “I’ll be with her tonight. She wanted some girl time.” That was exactly what Ashley had told me. I couldn’t blame her. She wasn’t at the resort for me, even though I needed to convince her to come back once the wedding was over.
Noah strapped his clubs to the back of his cart. “Pretty sure it was so they could talk about us.”
The thought made me smile. “I have no doubt.” Noah grinned as he texted back and forth with Harper. “Have you two talked about what you’re going to do when we leave here?”
“Have you and Ashley not?” he asked, setting his phone down in the cart cup holder.
I leaned against his cart. “Not really. I mentioned a little something about her coming to see me in Charlotte, but I know she has responsibilities here.”
“Then why don’t you visit here during the week while she’s working, and on the weekends, she can come to Charlotte. There are tons of golf courses around here for you to practice on.”
“It’s too soon to mention that,” I replied, shaking my head.
Noah chuckled. “Says who? It’s what Harp and I are going to do. I’m not about to let that girl get away from me.”
My gut clenched with jealousy. How could their relationship be so easy? “Are you going to the wedding?”
He kicked his feet up on the dashboard. “Yep. You?”
A triumphant smile spread across my face. “She asked me last night. We’re going to make things official.”
Noah’s eyes widened. “I sure hope she knows what she’s in for.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
He held up his hands. “Hey, I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. It’s just that her life is going to change drastically. The press won’t only follow you around. Ashley’s a beautiful woman and a successful doctor. They’re going to want to know more about her. While you’re back in Charlotte, she’ll be here by herself, dealing with all the questions and people following her around.” With a heavy sigh, he regarded me seriously. “It’s a lot to take in, brother. You need to be honest and let her know what she’s in for.”
She already knew the consequences, or at least, most of them. It was one of the reasons she’d pushed me away so fervently. If I brought it up again, I feared she’d revert back.
“I’m assuming the bet doesn’t mean anything to you anymore?” he asked, grinning smugly.
I scoffed. “It was a stupid bet to begin with. After last night, I’m thinking I might be on the path to winning, but I honestly don’t care about it anymore. In fact, I transferred the money to Aiden’s account this morning, regardless of the turnout.”
Tossing his head back, he let out a bark of laughter. “Who would’ve ever thought that Lucas Montgomery would fall in love. You’re in trouble now, buddy.”
“Tell me about it. I never thought it’d actually happen.”
Noah stood and slapped my shoulder. “It happens to the best of us.”
Aiden walked out of the clubhouse, carrying a score card. “All right, cocksuckers. Let’s see what you got today.” He looked at us and paused, his gaze narrowed. “Did I miss something?”
Noah chortled. “Oh, just your love-sick brother wondering what he should do about the sexy doctor he’s in love with.”
Aiden’s brows lifted. “I’m in shock. However, I must say, you made a good choice.”
“What about you?” Noah asked him. “I saw you with that hot brunette last night. Who is she?”
Aiden brushed off his shoulder. “You two aren’t the only ones who can score with women. Her name’s Meredith.”
“Where’s she from?” I was glad he met someone. I had begun to feel guilty about spending all my time with Ashley, when this whole trip was supposed to be a vacation with the guys.
Aiden sat down in the cart and put on his glove. “California. She’s here vacationing with some of her friends.”
I hopped in and we started on our way to the first hole. “When do I get to meet her?”
We stopped at the tee box and I
grabbed my driver. “Actually,” he began, “I was thinking we could hang out with you and Ashley for a while tonight, if you guys don’t mind. She’s really nice. I think Ashley will like her.”
“Sounds like a plan. I’ll text Ashley in a bit. I’m sure she’ll be okay with it.”
Aiden breathed a sigh of relief. “Great. I think Meredith’s nervous about meeting you. Having Ashley there will help.” He fetched his driver and peered out at the par five hole. “All right, enough about women. It’s time to focus. We got to get you ready for the Masters.”
Chapter Eighteen
Ashley
“You finally gave in?” Harper smirked and shook her head. “It’s about damn time. Noah’s going with me to the wedding.”
I slid my sunglasses over my eyes and laid back on the lounge chair. It was a beautiful day, so we’d thought it’d be fun to sit out in the sun. Harper had on a black bikini that tied together, and I had on my favorite Victoria’s Secret yellow and pink floral halter top bikini. My muscles were exhausted from playing golf, along with other nightly activities, but it was a good hurt.
“I’m just curious to see what my family’s going to say. Cam’s going to be here in a couple of days, and I know it’ll be hard to keep it from him.”
Harper looked at me sideways. “Then don’t. Are you going to introduce him as your boyfriend to your parents?”
My stomach rumbled with nerves. “I don’t know. I mean, he said I was his, but the word boyfriend hasn’t actually come up.”
She patted my hand. “I’m sure you’ll figure it out. The guy’s head over heels for you. Or at least, that’s what Noah says.”
I looked over at her. “Do you think that’s moving a little fast? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been enjoying our time together, and I can’t seem to think of anything other than him. Not to mention last night . . .” I stopped and took a deep breath. Just thinking about our time in the pool made me breathless.
