Daddy's Christmas Date: A Single Dad Romance Page 7

by Piper Sullivan

I laughed as she showed me into a room filled with art, mostly nude art. “You know Amelia, I think Dani understated your eccentricity.”

She turned to me and smirked. “You can call me crazy, it’s okay. Thank you.”

We retraced our footsteps and I couldn’t help but think about everything she had revealed. Was I ready for something serious when we’d only been out on one real date? No, that’s crazy. “It’s just too soon to tell.”

“I suspect you’re as clueless as she is then. Or you’re lying to yourself.” Then we were in the kitchen where Bobby had on an apron that fit him perfectly. “I had a feeling that would fit. Do you like it?”

Bobby looked up with a beaming grin filled with adoration. “I love it, Aunt Amelia! It has my name on it.”

“You didn’t have to do that,” I told her, hoping my gratitude shone through.

“Of course, I did. All young chefs need to be fostered and the uniform is part of that.” She gave my arm one final squeeze and went to stand beside Bobby. “We have a complex menu today young man, are you ready?”

He wore his most serious expression as he stood as tall as he could. “Yes!”

“Good. But first I have one very, very important question,” she told him, her expression looking grave. Amelia leaned in close and a grin spread on her face. “Oldies or rock & roll?”

Bobby’s nose crinkled up and he crooked his finger for Amelia to come closer. “What’s Oldies?”

She gasped in mock shock and put a hand to her chest. “It is only the music that the very best chefs in the world listen to. Guaranteed to lift your spirits and provide the inspiration you need right when you need it.”

She moved to a doc near the microwave. “First lesson Bobby, too many cooks in the kitchen will sour the soup.” She glanced at Dani and then at me while they engaged in some kind of weird, no words needed type of conversation. “Rule two,” she began as Dani made her way to me. “Music first, clean hands second.”

“Come on, we’ve been kicked out.”

  “But-,”

“He’ll be fine, she’s not a killer, she doesn’t spank and she used to be a nurse for like 7 years.”

I wanted to ask why only seven years, but Dani’s body was pressed against mine in an effort to get me to move. Sweet succulent curves mashed against me and I pressed back, holding her waist. “I like this,” I whispered.

“And we can do more of that, maybe, but not in the kitchen with my aunt and your son.”

Shit. Right. I took a step back and quickly checked in with Bobby, who barely spared me a glance. “I guess we’re leaving.”

“Come back in two and a half hours. Not a minute more,” Amelia called out before returning her attention to Bobby, who ate up every word.

“Thank you for this Dani. He’s already having so much fun.” I didn’t get it. I could whip up a few meals, but cooking for pleasure was not something I understood.

“He loves to cook.” She slid into the passenger seat and I couldn’t look away from those shapely legs, looking endless in the jeans and boots. “Eyes up here Fly Guy.”

“Fly Guy?” She nodded, a smile curving her lush mouth. “I’ll show you Fly Guy.” My hands gripped her thighs while my mouth moved slowly over hers. My thumbs slid over her through her jeans and she gasped into my mouth. “You were saying?”

She blinked, eyes still hazy with lust. “I was saying it’s a damn shame I’m wearing jeans today. You too,” she grinned and rubbed the back of her hand against the tent in my jeans.

I grunted and pulled back, glaring at her as I shut her door. Her laughter rang out behind me as I rounded the front of the car. “Where are we going?”

  “My house.”

I grinned. “Sounds good to me.”

She was fucking with me. She had to be. Why else would Dani have stripped down to her underwear—sheer white silk—donned an apron and started making cupcakes. “Okay, all done. These need to chill for at least thirty minutes and we need fifteen minutes to frost and five to set. So,” she sighed and looked at the clock on the wall, “we have about ninety minutes to ourselves.” She unwrapped the apron, her gaze never leaving mine as she pulled it off and balled it up on the counter. “Whatever will we do,” she asked with an innocence the sexy gleam in her eyes gave away.

“I’m sure we can think of something,” I told her as she walked over to where I sat at her small kitchen table. “Something that involves an actual bed this time.”

She laughed and straddled my lap, nibbling my ear before whispering, “I’ve had several orgasms with you in a bed, if you’ll recall.”

“Several? More like, six or was it seven?” Her skin blushed beautifully and my cock stiffened.

  “Seven,” she shivered. “Definitely seven.”

I stood, palming her ass and climbed the back staircase to get to her bedroom. “Then let’s see if we can make it an even ten.”

The moment I set her down on the plush carpet of her bedroom, Dani was ravenous, tearing off my clothes along with the rest of hers, in seconds. “Better. Much better,” she eyed me hungrily. “Next time we can go slow and sexy, right?”

My cock twitched at her words. “Right.”

“Good.” She climbed on the bed and got on her knees, arching her back so I could see her pretty pink pussy, already glistening with need for me. “I woke up from a dream of you doing me like this.”

“And I’m here to make your dreams come true,” I told her, climbing up the bed behind her and sliding my cock through her juices until it dripped with her. “Look how wet you are.” So fucking wet I slid deep and my balls tightened.

“Yes!” She cried out, pushing back for even more depth in a position that already had me as deep as I could go. Shit, this felt incredible. Hot and wet, tight and already starting to pulse. Fuck it had never felt so good, not ever, and the way her round ass moved against my cock, if possible it made me even harder. “Ty, fuck you feel so good.”

I grabbed her hair, blue tips spilling over my hand as I smacked her ass and rode her hard. “Dani.” Shit, she squeezed me so tight I didn’t think I could hold out much longer.

  “Harder!”

I let go of her hair and grasped her hips, slamming so hard and deep I felt sparks flash behind my eyes. My balls tightened and my spine tingled. “Fuck, Dani.”

Her hips continued to swirl as I fucked her hard, loving the way she dripped all over me. Then she tightened, pulsed and convulsed around me as her orgasm sprang from her body. Limbs loose and shaking, she collapsed on the bed, drawing me in until I could go no more, until I couldn’t tell where she ended and I began.

This position was incredible. Like I could fucking feel the universe and the stars with my cock. Warm and wet, she sucked me deep as her pussy continued to milk me until I couldn’t think of anything but moving my hips in search of my own orgasm. Dani cried out again and gripped me so tight I thought my cock would explode, then a warm flood of liquid flowed around my cock and down our legs, pulling my orgasm from me as she continued to cry my name. “Shit! Dani, fuck. Baby.”

She fell over and I fell beside her, sideways across the bed. “How does it keep getting better?” she asked, letting out a shocked gasp when I wrapped my mouth around her still hard nipple.

“Fuck if I know, but I’m not complaining because I can’t get enough of you.”

“Yeah, me either.” Her fingers danced through my hair as I lazily licked at the plump flesh of her breast, nibbling her nipple. “I should go shower. We made a mess.”

“A hot mess. Let’s see if we can get you to do that in my mouth while we get clean.” I slipped a finger deep and she clenched hard around it.

“Sounds like a plan to me,” she groaned as she arched her back. “But first, keep doing that,” she grabbed my wrist and held it in place, fucking my hand in an image so hot my cock sprang a leak against her thigh. “I love how you can make me come every time. It’s so hot.”

  “You should see my
view.” She looked like a wet dream when she came, plump lips pressed into an orgasmic ‘o’, a husky cry of pleasure. My name on her lips as her skin flushed with satisfaction. Yeah, it was hot as fuck. And I enjoyed the show as she came all over my hand. Then all over my face in the shower. Then my cock, also in the shower.

“I’m not even sure my arms will work to frost these,” she said an hour later when we finally made it back to the kitchen.

“Tell me what we’re doing and maybe I can help.”

She sighed and grabbed the frosting from the fridge along with two sheets of paper on the counter. “I want to do these cupcakes like the battle uniform for the Air Force and these are the instructions.”

She looked back down at the instructions but I was frozen. Thunderstruck. “You did all this for Bobby?”

She looked up again and grinned. “Sure. He told me how he wishes he could be like you and I told him heroes wore all kinds of uniforms. But I think it’d be nice to have them like this.”

I knew in that moment that Dani Preston wasn’t safe. She was dangerous, because she was a nice woman, a sexy woman who was fun to be around. She wasn’t asking anything of me—yet—and still I wanted more.

  She was trouble.

  With a capital fucking ‘T’.

  Dani

“How exactly did I get roped into this?” I couldn’t help but laugh at the bewildered expression Ty wore as he hauled three boxes filled with pies to the booth Amelia had set up for her and Bobby at the Farm Festival, Green Valley’s celebration of its rich farming history.

“That’s easy. You were too dazed from a morning spent in bed to pay proper attention. Why do you think I agreed too?” Lunch with Amelia and Bobby had been perfect but finding my concentration took an effort I didn’t have after the deliciously wicked things Ty had done to me, and reliving the things I did to him. “I’ll consider it a win if there are pies left over for me to take home.”

“You could just buy one, you know,” he offered with a lopsided smirk.

“Yeah I could, and I will. But first I want Bobby to feel the rush of complete strangers lining up to buy something he made. I’ll buy one, but I would buy five. But if I did that he’d think it was because we’re friends.”

He stopped and looked down at me as though something had just occurred to him. “So, you’re saying I shouldn’t buy five pies?”

“No. Buy one, and get Blake to come down and buy one too.”

“You’re bossy,” he grumbled and started the trip back to the booth. One of the things I admired about Ty was just how unaware he was of his own appeal. His long legged gait was sure and confident. Wide shoulders that could hold the weight of the world on them were straight and tall, tapering down to his narrowed waist drew the eye of every woman at the festival. But the big draw, the way the t-shirt hugged across his back, arms and chest, made every mouth watching go dry.

“No, I am encouraging.” I sat my boxes down in front of the two excited bakers who made quick work of unpacking them and putting out samples on small gingham and camouflage paper plates. “You can always ignore me and do whatever you want.” In my experience most people did anyway, even when it was a doctor dispensing medical advice.

“I could,” he grumbled. “If your way didn’t make a hell of a lot of sense.”

I laughed at his grumpy words and stole a sample, biting into the sweet tangy blueberry goodness. “Holy crap those are delicious!” I eyed Bobby who giggled as a blush stole over his skin, still tan from a summer spent outdoors.

  “You really like it?”

Was he kidding? “Kid I would buy them all if I wasn’t worried I’d get so fat you’d have to roll me out of here, and no offense, but I don’t think you’re strong enough.” He laughed again, shaking his head at my antics and I knew it was useless to fight against how much this kid meant to me. He had well and truly burrowed into my heart.

  “Now you try it, Dad!”

Ty dutifully reached for a sample plate without looking at the labels, hesitating only a fraction of a second before he slid a forkful into his mouth. Bobby watched, heart in his eyes, as Ty chewed and swallowed. “Son, that is incredible. And there’s something in there, I can’t quite-,”

  “Cinnamon!”

“Great job,” he offered up more praise, shooting a wink at Amelia. “You too Amelia. Can you guys save a few more for me?”

Bobby nodded his head vigorously. “Don’t forget Uncle Blake too, he loves pie. He told me to save him one of each!”

Ty slid me a knowing look and I shrugged. I never claimed to be an expert on kids, just their bodies. “Have you seen the rest of the festival yet, Bobby?”

He shook his head and Aunt Amelia gasped in horror. “Go on with your Dad for a while Bobby. The Farm Festival must be experienced in its full glory. Go on and have fun. I’ll see you in a bit.” She shooed them off expertly, watching them walk away, hand in hand, with a satisfied smile on her face. Then she turned to me with a knowing smile. “What’s going on, niece?”

“Not much,” I answered, avoiding the question she was really asking.

“Okay, let me rephrase. What’s going on with you and the hot single dad?”

I sighed and explained everything so far. “It’s all pretty casual and I have no idea what any of it means.” Or if it meant anything other than a few stolen moments. I couldn’t deny that my heart was already engaged, but I knew that sex and a few entertaining evenings didn’t necessarily indicate the start of a relationship.

“Well Bobby is already half in love with you, the kid hardly stops talking about you.”

That was nice. “I like Bobby too.” His father as well, maybe a little too much. “I’m just going to see how things go, Aunt Amelia. There’s no point rushing into something only to find out I got it all wrong.”

Like I had in the past. More than once.

“Don’t rush honey, but just make sure you’re both looking for the same things.”

I blinked, confused. “What do you mean, sex?”

She laughed and nodded. “Well that certainly is part of it, isn’t it? But you also want to make sure Ty is looking for love, a committed relationship and not just a mother for that sweet boy of his.”

I hadn’t even considered that, and instantly my shoulders fell. “You think that’s a possibility? Do people even do that anymore?”

Amelia nodded sagely. “Yes. Men aren’t the same as us Dani. They can be very practical when they want to be, but it’s up to us not to let them get away with it.”

I nodded, accepting her advice in the loving spirit in which it was given. Truth be told, I couldn’t stop thinking about her words all day, even after Bobby and Ty returned and we spent a few hours enjoying the festival. I couldn’t escape Aunt Amelia’s words, not when Ty had admitted that he didn’t want to start dating and was only doing it to shut Blake up. Maybe his real goal was a new mom for Bobby.

  That was a depressing thought.

“Mmm, you taste good,” Ty murmured against my lips while we waited in the barn to load up for the hayride.

“You really love the taste of apple cider then.”

We’d been at the pumpkin patch for a few hours, letting Bobby enjoy all the autumn goodness of the crisp air and all the kid fun offered at the McCall farm.

“I really love the taste of you,” he groaned and stole my lips again. The kiss was gentle and tender but when my tongue swiped across his lip, he growled and pushed his big body tighter against mine.

“Me too,” I moaned and pushed him away just as Bobby came running towards us.

“Dad, Dani, look what I got! It’s sweet popcorn balls with pumpkin seeds mixed in.” He could barely finish his words before he took another bite of the ball on a stick. “Want some?”

I took a bite but Ty refrained, stepping behind me to hide his erection from his son. “That’s delicious. Salty and sweet.” Soon it was time to load up for the ride and we all hopped on the wagon with Bobby seated between us
, holding my hand and using the other to enjoy his treat. It was all very nice and comfortable. And scary.

“Dani, do you like my dad?”

I froze as if all of the familiar faces of Green Valley looked at me with knowing smiles. It was an open secret that we were seeing each other, but Bobby had no clue, and I didn’t know if Ty wanted him to. “Of course I do. He’s a nice guy. Not as nice as you, but pretty cool.”

He giggled and I winked at Ty. Things had been going well between us over the past few weeks and though my aunt’s words still nagged at me, I couldn’t help but enjoy every moment we spent together. In and out of bed. Like now, we weren’t talking or touching, but being with Ty soothed me. Comforted me. Left me with a content feeling of rightness, even as we did something as simple as a hayride. “Don’t all these colors just make you smile?” I asked Bobby, who nodded with a big popcorn and marshmallow grin.

  “It looks like a picture.”

I couldn’t agree more, pointing out colorful trees and even the scarecrow as we neared the end of the ride. There were already about a half dozen pumpkins of varying sizes in the back of Ty’s truck so we took another stroll through the hay maze, bought a few more autumn snacks and then headed back to the Hawke residence.

Bobby and I got set up in the kitchen while Ty went to take care of a few urgent phone calls he’d gotten while we were out. He was such a devoted father that I often forgot he ran his own business with Blake.

“So what are we doing with this pumpkin?”

“Bread and cookies! Aunt Amelia said use pecans and syrup for the bread.” The little man was so excited about cooking that I couldn’t help but join in his excitement as I helped him gut the pumpkin and prepare it for the oven.

“Now it’s time to make some art!” We spent the next twenty minutes laying newspaper across the kitchen table as I prepped the carving tools. “Use this to draw the design and then we’ll start carving.” He smiled up at me, making jokes as he drew on the demonic face and I couldn’t help but laugh as my heart swelled and filled with warmth. Dangerous thoughts popped in my mind, like how this was the perfect day for a family. All that was missing was a hot dinner, holiday music and ending the night making love in a shared bed. Because that’s what my silly heart wanted. Desired above all else.
