Coffee House Press began as a small letterpress operation in 1972 and has grown into an internationally renowned nonprofit publisher of literary fiction, essay, poetry, and other work that doesn’t fit neatly into genre categories.

Coffee House is both a publisher and an arts organization. Through our Books in Action program and publications, we’ve become interdisciplinary collaborators and incubators for new work and audience experiences. Our vision for the future is one where a publisher is a catalyst and connector.

CYNAN JONES was born near Aberaeron on the west coast of Wales in 1975. He is the author of four short novels, most recently The Dig (Coffee House Press, 2014), which won a Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize in 2014 and the Wales Book of the Year Fiction Prize in 2015. His work has been translated into several languages, and his short stories have aired on BBC Radio and appeared in a number of anthologies and publications including Granta. Everything I Found on the Beach is the second of three U.S. releases of his work by Coffee House Press.

Everything I Found on the Beach is set in Vendôme, a typeface designed in 1952 by François Ganeau while he was working at Fonderie Olive. The face itself is inspired by sixteenth- and seventeenth-century type by Claude Garamond and Jean Jannon.
