Wilde About Her (Wilde Pack Series) Page 9

by Daniels, Angie

“I-I received a text message to meet you out here.” The fire in his eyes caused her voice to quiver slightly and her voice came out in a whisper. There was so much anger in his eyes that no wonder she didn’t recognize him.

“What text message? I didn’t…” Jax’s voice trailed off, then he dragged a hand across his head. “Dammit. It was Troy.”

Denim was confused. “Troy? Who’s Troy?”

“The wolf that was getting ready to attack you,” he snarled and looked ready to shift and go after Red.

  “Who’s Troy?” she repeated.

His fists clenched. “She’s my ex.”

“Your ex? How did she get my number?” Denim’s eyes scanned the trees, afraid she might see the red wolf reemerge at any moment.

“She must have hacked into my cellular account again,” he muttered and paced the ground, but then his head snapped around as if Jax suddenly remembered Denim was there.

And she suddenly realized he was naked. Again.

The sight of his naked body caused her to squirm and her clit to throb. Oh, he was gorgeous! A groan slipped from between Denim’s lips as her eyes followed the muscles of his solid chest all the way to the patch of blonde curls that traveled downward, and she blew out a long deep breath.

  Damn, Jax was yummy.

She had to practically rip her eyes from his long, thick erection. Oh, she wanted it all right now, plunging deeply between her thighs. Unfortunately, now was not the time. “I thought the text was from you.” She couldn’t remember what number the message had come from. She’d just assumed it had been from him.

Jax stepped toward her, backing her against the large tree, caging her in. “Do you know what would have happened if I hadn’t been here to save you?” He was practically shouting.

Denim shook her head. His voice sent a shiver through her body and she was instantly aware of his ruthless mouth and his dark, hooded eyes that drifted over her possessively.

“I don’t even want to think about it. If I had lost you…” his voice trailed off again, but this time the fire in his eyes was blazing hot with desire. “Dammit Denim, the smell of your arousal is driving me crazy,” he growled.

The kiss started off fast, hard. Almost savage. Denim sensed he was working off his rage with his lips. And she was fine with that. Her mouth opened and his tongue slipped inside and desire washed over her. “I can’t bear to lose you again,” he murmured against her lips.

Locking his hands behind her back, Jax dragged Denim closer until they were pressed together, and then his tongue went deeper into her mouth, until her entire body shook.

  “Jax,” she whispered.

  “I got you, babe.”

His kisses inflamed her senses. The tone of his voice was disarming. She felt like she’d traveled to a land where there was just her and Jax. Reaching out for something to steady herself, her hands brushed over his bare chest. It was muscular, strong, and radiated heat.

Finally, Jax lifted his head and took a deep breath. Her eyelids fluttered open and she gasped at what she saw. There was desire, of course, but something else she couldn’t quite put her finger on, and was too afraid to try.

“Denim,” he whispered as he brushed her hair back off her face, making her shiver. “Kissing you is not going to be enough. I want more,” he said.

  It’s your decision.

He kissed her again. This time even more persuasive and Denim quickly found herself caught up in the passion. She went up on tiptoes and slid her hands up his back. Jax lifted his head, and she instantly missed his lips pressed against hers.

“Tell me what you want. I need to know, now!” he said thickly.

She swallowed. “You. I want you.”

His breathing was heavy, unsteady when he reached for her hand and forced it down over his cock. “Is this what you need?” he asked and curled her fingers around him, then slowly rubbed her hand up and then down the thick bulge of his erection. He felt huge and hot. It throbbed with need, drawing her attention.

Feeling slightly feverish, Denim panted, “Yes.”

Jax’s expression stilled as he said, “Get undressed.”

Shocked, Denim stared up into his eyes. He was serious. “What if she comes—”

“Denim, she won’t… now just do it,” he sounded hungry and desperate. “My wolf is trying to emerge. We want you. We want you more than I’ve ever wanted a woman and I can’t wait another second to be inside you.”

She dragged the dress over her head and was surprised to discover she wasn’t the least bit self-conscious about undressing in front of him. Probably because she desperately wanted him also.

There was a low gurgling sound coming from his throat. “Has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are?”

If she didn’t know, she definitely knew now. The way he looked at her made her feel sexy. Denim gazed into his eyes, breathing heavily as she waited.

Jax’s fingers skimmed up her arm, causing her to shiver. There was another low growl, “Damn, babe. You are definitely a sight to see.”

Denim stood there thinking how wild and crazy all of it was. She should be freaking out from barely surviving a she-wolf attack and instead she felt safe and secure, and so turned on she didn’t care about anything except what Jax was about to do next.

“Don’t think about it,” he said and she felt his erection pulsing against her thigh.

There was the problem. Whatever was brewing between them felt so right she could barely breathe. She was outside, pinned against a tree with a naked werewolf man who had a rock hard cock throbbing against her sensitized kitty-cat. Only instead of being frightened and bolting across the forest to Pappy’s, she felt an overwhelming desire to give in to her needs.

“Tell me you want this, Denim.”

Hell yeah. She wanted Jackson Wilde and everything he had to offer her. “I want you to make love to me, Jax,” she admitted.

He cupped her ass, drawing her against him, then lowered his head, and she met his lips before his mouth traveled downward to her aching nipples. He sucked one into his mouth. “Jax!” Denim cried as his tongue circled her areola. “Please …”

“Please what?” His fingers replaced his tongue. “Please stop?” Jax dragged a finger from her breasts down across her abdomen toward the trim of her panties.

“No,” she moaned. “Don’t stop.” Denim was losing her mind. Her head rolled back when she felt his long fingers caress her crotch through the satin material. “Yesss,” She hissed, bit her lip and then moaned again.

Jax’s fingers were skillful and arousing, sending heat racing in every direction, and then suddenly he stopped kissing her and dropped to his knees.

“What are you doing?” she asked staring down at him.

“I’m about to make you feel good.” His voice held a hint of a promise.

Tremors ripped over her body as he dragged her panties down.

“Step out of them,” he instructed.

As soon as Denim kicked them away, Jax was licking a path up her thighs. She began trembling when she realized he was staring up at her.

“You smell so good,” he growled, then Jax’s tongue slipped out and stroked her kitty.

OMG! She’d never felt anything like it. His tongue plunged deep. He was rough, demanding. Not in the least gentle. Denim wanted to scream and demand he stop, but instead she started whimpering. With a mind of its own, her body followed the rhythm of his tongue, meeting his strokes. She rested her hands on his shoulders while her body quivered and shook. His tongue felt better than anything she’d ever experienced.

“Yes,” Denim panted. “Oooh Jax, yes.”

Jax sucked and licked some more, then flicked her clit between his lips. She tried to pull away, but he gripped her ass, immobilizing her. Never had a man, not even Asher, brought her such pleasure. Jax was persistent, wild and relentless. Denim twisted and moved one hand to his head, the other to his shoulder and held on as her body began to contract.

; “Jax … don’t … stop … I’m about to…” A cry ripped from her lips as she exploded. “Yessss, oh yessss!” she whimpered his name, and was hit with one wave that was immediately met by another. Jax continued to lap at her until Denim’s muscles relaxed and her breathing slowed.

Then he was grabbing her ass and was lifting her off the ground. “Look at me,” he commanded.

  Their eyes locked.

  “Do you trust me?”

  She nodded. “Yes.”

There was a wolfish glint in his eyes. “Do you believe me when I tell you werewolves are immune from diseases?”

Denim knew a man would say just about anything to get into her panties, and yet, she believed Jax. “What about pregnancy?”

He shook his head. “It can’t happen until after the binding process.”

  “Binding?” she breathed.

“Babe, I promise to explain later,” he managed between gritted teeth. “But right now, I need to be inside of you. Spread your legs.”

She slid her thighs further apart, then held her breath and released it in a slow exhale as he pushed inside her.

Oh my, was he big! Jax gave her a few seconds to get used to him, being there invading her body then he was riding her, fucking her so hard she started chanting his name.

“Wrap your legs around my waist,” he ordered and with his assistance she crossed her ankles just above his ass. Then he was plunging deeper and harder. Denim was moaning and crying at the same time and was seconds away from the moment ending when she felt his erection tighten and then pulse.

  “Denim!” he howled.

“Yes … yesss!” She wailed, then exploded around his cock. Jax groaned and thrust long, hard and deep before his body bucked and drove home with his release. By the time his hips stilled, Denim had sagged against the tree and exhaled.

Completely spent, Jax snaked an arm around her waist, and they clung to each other. The silence of the night stole over her as her heartbeat slowed and breathing eased.

If Denim hadn’t known it before, she knew it now. She was falling for Jax Wilde.

Jax made sure Denim was safely inside, then he headed home through the forest. He removed his clothes and left them inside the treehouse, then quickly shifted into his wolf just in case Troy or another member of her pack was lurking in the corner. He was certain the evening’s encounter was just her jealous rage, but he wasn’t taking any chances.

He crouched low, close to the ground, and prowled through the forest sniffing along the way. At least he no longer smelled Troy anywhere around. Nevertheless, the psycho ex-girlfriend behavior had to stop.

As he traveled through the forest, he thought about how close Troy had come to attacking Denim tonight. Her chest had been heaving. Her breath panting, and her entire body shaking. If he hadn’t been outdoors, if he hadn’t sensed she was in trouble, there was no telling….

Jax didn’t want to think about that. Instead he thought about what happened this evening and one thing he knew for sure, Denim was his mate. The way she made him feel, he had never felt with a she-wolf. It was ridiculous to think that denying what he was feeling was the way to go just to keep the bloodline pure. Denim was his and he had waited for her for so very long.

He hadn’t planned for their first mating to be in the forest only seconds after she had been fighting for her life, but when he’d smelled her arousal lingering in the air, his cock had felt so tight and ready to explode, he had lost all control. Once he was seated deep inside her, the scent of her flooded his nose and then there was no stopping him. He had pumped away with her hips rocking as he brought them both to satisfaction.

Jax pushed the thoughts aside and entered the house through the underground tunnels. Once inside, he returned to human form and slipped into clothes he kept in a closet in the great room downstairs. As soon as he was dressed Jax slid into the bathroom to wash the dirt from his hands, then moved upstairs. Aidan was standing in the hall talking on his cell phone when he spotted Jax. Instantly, he ended the call and followed him into his bedroom.

“Yo, Jax. What did you do to Troy? She just called me, going off!” he blurted out. “She said you attacked her.”

He walked over to his bed and took a seat, then glared up at Aidan. The rage had returned and he felt his incisors grow long and hard in his mouth. Troy was out to start trouble, and he had to stop her before she did. “She tried to attack Denim tonight.”

“What the fuck? Is she alright?”

A growl rumbled deep in the base of his throat as he nodded. “I just happened to be out in the field and heard her.”

Aidan shook his head and took a seat on his futon. “Damn dude. You sure Denim is worth all this…” he purposely allowed his voice to trail off.

He gave him a hard stare. Brother or no brother, Jax felt a level of possessiveness he’d never experienced before. “Denim’s my soulmate. And don’t start… I didn’t want to believe it, but now I have no choice but to accept we’re meant to be together.”

  “But she’s human,” he reminded.

He met Aidan’s inquisitive gaze head on. “None of that seems to matter anymore.”

Aidan shook his head, smiling. “I can see that.”

“Denim’s mine.” The beast in him raged possessively. It was his job to protect his mate. He was meant to share his life with Denim and nothing or no one was going to stand in his way.

“If I wanted to spend my lunch hour alone, I would have stayed at my desk and read a book.”

Denim blinked, then blushed. “Sorry, Quinn. I was thinking about something.”

“Something or someone?” she asked with a knowing look.

Still blushing, Denim dropped her eyes to her plate.

Quinn was sitting at the counter and it was the lunch rush. As usual, Pappy’s was filled with hungry folks. Denim had been working nonstop since she’d arrived to serve breakfast, which was probably a good thing. Otherwise, she would have been lost in thought thinking about Jax. Although despite how loud the diner was, nothing could drown out the banging of her own heart.

Why can’t I stop thinking about him?

There was a confidence about Jax and an air of power that radiated from the way his body moved, the look in his eyes, and the timbre of his voice. He could easily have controlled her, possessed her, held her captive with a gaze or a single touch. She shook her head to scatter her thoughts. There was no sense in letting her imagination get the best of her. Jax didn’t believe in mixing breeds, which meant they didn’t have a future. A summer fling. That was all it would ever be. And when it was over she would head back home to decide the next phase of her life.

If only she could get her body and heart to listen.

“Are you going to tell me how your date was with Jax?”

Reluctantly, Denim met her curious gaze. “It was nice.”

“Nice?” Quinn gave her an incredulous look. “There is nothing nice about dating a Wilde. Arousing… dangerous… but not nice.”

Her words made her blush. “He took me to dinner.”

Quinn pointed a fork at her. “Uh-huh, and after all these years, you still like Jax?”

“Yeah, I guess I do,” Denim admitted and before she could question her further, she walked to the other end of the counter and cleared away plates.

“I can’t believe it,” Quinn began when Denim returned. “Jax has always been to himself and I can’t remember the last girl he dated from around here.” Her eyes met Denim’s and then twinkled. “Aren’t you the lucky one?”

Denim smirked, but didn’t say much in fear of saying more than she needed and accidentally slipping. She’d told the truth when she vowed she’d never say anything about Jax being a shifter. A town this small, he and his family would be tarred and feathered, and she would never be able to forgive herself.

“So, you do still like him? I mean… I remember how you used to talk about his big head all the time when he wasn’t pulling your
hair.”

Denim nodded and burst with laughter. “I know, right. Yes, I still like him.”

“Oooh! Look at you! I can see it all over your face.” Leaning closer, Quinn whispered. “Did you kiss him? Because if he kisses anything like his brother…”

Her lips tingled just thinking about it. And there was nothing she’d like better than for Jax to kiss her again. Just the thought had Denim sighing.

“What’s the deal with you and Chayton, by the way?”

Denim noticed the way Quinn’s eyes rolled to the top of her head at the mention of him. “We dated for a brief moment, but I always felt like he was hiding something.”

Ya think! He’s a werewolf. Of course, she couldn’t tell her that.

“It was probably another woman. So…, I stopped seeing him.” Quinn released a slow shaky breath and went back to eating her food, but Denim could see the hurt on her face. She had a feeling Quinn liked Chayton a lot more than she cared to admit. But apparently he didn’t trust her enough to tell her the truth. She wondered, if she hadn’t discovered the truth on her own if Jax would have ever told her? That was one question she would probably never know the answer to.

“Anyway, I got tired of trying to figure him out. I’ve been talking to this guy I met in San Antonio for a few weeks now. He’s pretty awesome.” She gave a silly grin, then bit into a half-eaten fish sandwich.

They chatted some more and then the diner got busy again, so she was off helping customers. By the time Denim was turning in their orders, Quinn had tossed a tip onto the counter. “I’ll call you later,” she said and headed back to work.

She worked nonstop through the lunch rush, which left very little time to think about Jax or what had transpired three nights ago.

She was sleeping with a werewolf.

That realization still had her in a daze. Denim had always believed they were something you read about, or saw in the movies, but in fact they really did exist. Hey everybody, we have werewolves living right here in Justice! Better yet, she was dating one! And Jax was one sexy beast.
