“Get out.”
Harper climbed out of her vehicle and shut the door. Without the patrol car’s lights, the garage was dark. Although she didn’t see the vampire approach, Harper sensed his presence. “If I’m not back on the streets real soon my friend’s going to notice.”
“Come here,” he said, sliding his hand around her waist.
Anticipating his kiss, Harper pulled back her head.
He chuckled and cupped her head in his big hand. “Kiss me.”
“No.”
“Okay.” He released her, pushed her back against the patrol car and unfastened the collar of her uniform jacket. “We’ll do it your way.”
“Do what?”
He unfastened the cuffs of her jacket and relieved her of the garment. “We’re going to fuck, Harper. And you’re going to love it.”
His use of her first name gave the moment an intimacy she’d prefer to ignore.
His hands moved with precision, stripping her of her shirt. She grabbed his wrist. “I don’t think so.”
Although she held onto his wrist with all her strength, the vampire unfastened her pants. Within seconds her pants and underwear were around her ankles, and the vampire was kneeling in front of her.
“You smell so good.” He stroked the backs of her legs and squeezed her ass. “Your skin is like silk.”
Harper grasped his shoulders and tried to push him away. She might as well try to move a block of granite.
He removed her boots, pants and underwear.
Harper crossed an arm over her breasts and a hand over her sex.
He grasped her wrists and pulled her hands away. “You’re beautiful. I like you naked.”
Harper knew he wouldn’t be satisfied with a sip of blood. “What do you want?”
He pressed his lips to her belly. “Just once, say yes. Fuck me. Touch me. Climax for me.”
She seized on the chance to get out of the situation alive. “One fuck. You won’t hurt me, and I’ll never see you again?”
“Be assured I won’t hurt you. The sex will be good. Really good.”
He was one confident vampire. “Do it quickly so I can get back to work.”
He stood and cupped the back of her head. “This only works if you’re into the fucking.”
“You’re changing the bargain.”
“I’m enhancing your pleasure. Undress me.”
“What?”
“Fucking is more fun if we’re both naked.” He placed her hands on his chest and released her wrists. “I want to feel your warm hands on me.”
Harper relieved him of his long sleeve black pullover.
“Touch me.”
Without his black shirt, the vampire was a grayish shadow. She reached out and rested her palms on his chest. His skin was cold and smooth. She slid her hands up to his broad shoulders and down his muscular arms and back again. Then over his six-pack to his belt. His body was powerful perfection. She licked her lips.
He hadn’t touched her or said a word. He remained silent as she opened his buckle and unzipped his pants.
“Stroke me.”
Harper hesitated for a second, then reached for him. She stroked him, gasping at his thickness and length. He was big and hard as stone. “You’re going to hurt me?”
He slid the pad of his thumb over her cheek. “I fuck for pleasure, never for pain.”
He cupped her ass and drew her against him. He moaned and lifted her, settling her backside against a long white car with tail fins.
She wrapped her legs around his hips. Thick and hard, his cock rested against her belly. She braced herself for penetration, fast and rough. Instead he kissed her, capturing her lips and slipping his tongue into her mouth. The kiss was lush and so enticing, Harper didn’t think about biting him or resisting. She clenched her thighs against his hips and raked her nails down his muscled back.
He kissed a path down her neck, giving her pause as a fang scraped her skin. His lips skimmed her breast and encircled her nipple. Using lips and tongue, he suckled.
Harper sighed. Heat spiraled through her middle, pooling between her legs. Her blood thundered and her skin was on fire. His skin was wonderfully cool and his mouth magical. Harper’s fears melted away and desire consumed her. She reached up and fisted his hair. “Fuck me.”
He released her breast and gripped her thighs. The head of his cock touched her heated entrance. With a rock of his hips he slid inside. He trembled and thrust.
Harper cried out at the first penetration. Her pussy quivered and stretched, loving his size and length. Each controlled thrust went deeper, brought them closer and tighter together until he was buried deep inside her and her breasts were pressed against his chest.
He stilled. “Come for me.”
She clamped down on him, grabbing at his cock.
He moved his hips. “You have no idea how good you feel. Hot, wet, tight.”
He moved faster, filling her again and again. “I know how good you feel. Thick, hard, long.”
His size, strength and control amazed her. Each thrust brought another wave of pleasure, better, hotter than the last. Her pussy quivered, then convulsed. The pleasure beyond reason, she cried out.
His deep groan joined her cry.
The crest of pleasure broke and Harper melted against him, every muscle like quivering jelly. She laid her head on his shoulder and caught her breath.
“Kiss me.”
Harper lifted her head from his shoulder and pressed her lips to his. She welcomed the thrust of his tongue and slid hers inside his mouth. Her tongue slid over a long fang. Reality slammed into her. She’d fucked a vampire and liked it.
Liked it? She’d loved it.
Given her feisty personality, Egan expected an exciting lover. The heat of her body was an amazing turn-on, but Harper exceeded his fantasies and his memories.
Lush, hot and responsive, she was the best fuck he’d ever known and his experience spanned many decades.
Although they had agreed to just one encounter, Egan wanted more. Did she? No way had she faked her reaction or her climax. The way she’d tightened around him was raw and pure. He wanted to stay inside her, bring her to climax again and again, fuck her until dawn, but that wasn’t to be.
He fisted her hair and broke the kiss. “One sip.”
“I still have visible wounds on my neck. If the marks are seen I’ll be sent to the infection center.”
“To cleanse your blood?”
“That’s what we’re told, but agents sent there never return to the job.”
Egan lifted her a little higher but remained inside her. “Arch your back.”
She arched, thrusting her breasts upward.
Egan captured a taut nipple and suckled deep until her pussy convulsed around his cock. Catching her in the moment of orgasm, Egan sank his fangs into her breast. He sucked gently, drawing her hot blood into his mouth.
She moaned and dug her nails into his shoulders.
He took a few sips, then withdrew his fangs. Egan licked her wounds, sealing the tiny holes and easing her out of an enthralled state. He wanted Harper to experience the euphoric combination of climax and blood loss.
The euphoria would bond them forever. She belonged to him now, but she didn’t know it.
Egan withdrew and eased their bodies apart. He set Harper on her feet. “How are you feeling?”
“Satisfied, but edgy.”
Egan grinned. This was how he wanted her, hungry for more. “Are you steady on your feet?”
“Yeah. I feel like I’m coming down from a strange high.”
Egan kept an eye on her while he dressed. “I didn’t know DSA agents got high.”
“We don’t, but I wasn’t always a DSA agent. I used to do waitress work at a diner near the station. The agents got to know me and secured a training slot. I did well and was hired full time.”
“Here’s your underwear.” Egan helped her dress.
“It’s weird dressing in the dark,” sh
e said, buttoning up her shirt.
He placed her jacket in her hand. “Hold this while I put on your boots.”
When she was fully dressed, Egan grasped her by the waist and drew her close. He kissed her, taking his time and reveling in the way her tongue slid over his fangs and tongue. That she trusted him and no longer feared his bite pleased him beyond measure.
Finally, Egan lifted his head. “Ready to go?”
They climbed into the vehicle, and Egan drove back to the alley. He left the vehicle running. “I’ll get your weapons. Don’t turn on the headlights. You’ll blind me.”
Fully armed, she slid behind the wheel. Egan had taken a chance retrieving her weapons. All she had to do was turn on the powerful UV lamps on the roof and he’d be down, burning and writhing in horrific pain. They’d achieved a level of trust unheard of between a DSA agent and a vampire.
She reached out the open window and touched his face. “Best fuck ever.”
She smiled and Egan’s insides twisted. He turned his face into her hand and kissed her palm. “Tomorrow night, I’ll wait for you at the gate in the parking garage.”
She pulled her hand away. “We agreed to one fuck.”
Her statement surprised Egan. He thought they’d formed a bond too strong for her to resist. Perhaps he was wrong. “We can agree to another.”
“Meeting again is dangerous.”
“Where’s your sense of adventure?”
“Back on the job.”
He stepped away from the vehicle. “Be careful, Agent Croix.”
“What’s your name?”
Finally, she’d asked. “Egan.”
“Goodnight, Egan.”
“Goodnight, Harper.” Their relationship had just taken another step, far more intimate than momentary gratification.
Egan slipped inside the doorway and waited until she backed out of the alley. He climbed to the roof and followed Harper’s vehicle for several blocks. Egan settled onto the uppermost level of a fire escape and looked across the street at the Cemetery, the place he was supposed to occupy for eternity.
Pulling Harper’s red top out of his pocket, Egan pressed the material against his nose and inhaled. The scent of her blood curled into his nostrils and surrounded his cold heart, giving it warmth.
Egan thought of his pledge to avenge Noah’s death. But something had happened tonight, something unexpected and wonderful. Something he hadn’t experienced in close to three hundred years of his vampire existence. He’d fallen for the enemy.
Chapter Five
Thanks to a raid on a vampire rave in the warehouse district, the first half of Harper’s shift had been too busy to think about Egan. Several vampires had been caught at the site of the costume party and were hauled away in a reinforced vampire transport.
Now that the excitement was over, Harper’s thoughts turned to the irony of her life. She’d just burned a vampire and forced the hissing creature into a transport, and now that she was back in her vehicle her thoughts turned to Egan. She wanted to be with him. Thinking about meeting him at the garage was crazy. Thinking about having sex with him was driving her crazy.
She’d slept for most of the day, then dragged her butt out of bed. After she’d showered, Harper had looked into the mirror. The twin marks on her neck and breast should have horrified her. Instead they brought forth sensual memories and lusty cravings.
Just one more time.
Harper drove around the Cemetery without seeing a darting shadow or a flash of pale skin. The streets were quiet, likely due to the raid.
She pressed the accelerator and within minutes arrived at the hotel. Last night Harper hadn’t paid much attention to the place. She slowed down and looked around. The bar was busy and red neon lights shone in windows once draped with silk. Beer and chips were served in the bar that had once specialized in fine wines and canapés.
Harper turned into the parking garage, driving slowly up the rising levels until she reached the gated ramp. The gate was open. She parked, removed her weapons belt and climbed out of her patrol car. Leaning against Egan’s fancy white car, she waited.
She sensed his presence before she heard his voice.
“I thought you weren’t coming.”
She caught the scent of spice right before he touched her shoulders and drew her into his arms. “I shouldn’t be here.”
He brushed his lips to hers. “I’m glad you came.”
“I can’t stay long,” she said, fisting his pullover.
“Not here.” His arm firmly around her waist, he guided her away from the vehicle.
“Where are we going?”
“My hotel room.”
“You rented a room?”
“Vampires can’t rent rooms. I used to own the place, had it built. I transferred title to an old friend before laws were enacted preventing vampires from owning real estate. In exchange, I kept the penthouse for my own use and sealed off the upper level of the garage for my favorite cars.”
“Those fancy cars belong to you.”
“Not officially.”
A door creaked, then a tunnel lined with red neon lights appeared.
“This is a private passageway between the garage and the penthouse.”
Harper looked at Egan. His skin took on an eerie glow in the red light. At the end of the passageway, Egan opened another door, revealing a foyer with a white marble floor that led to a large room with a fireplace, several sofas, fancy chairs and a piano in one corner. Paintings, mostly landscapes, decorated the walls.
“Where are the windows?”
“There are none. This apartment was designed to suit my particular needs. It has functioning kitchens and bathrooms. I used to entertain here.”
Before she had time to take it all in, Egan was escorting her into a room with a huge bed made up with crisp, white sheets and fluffy pillows. Several lamps provided soft lighting. The walls were light green and the carpet beige.
“It’s beautiful.”
“This is my bedroom. It was my bedroom for many years,” he said, drawing her inside the spacious room.
Her entire apartment would fit in this room.
“I wish we had more time, but daybreak is a couple of hours away.”
His comment reminded her she was still on the job. “I can’t stay much longer.”
“Let’s not waste a moment.” He removed his black pullover, stepped out of his shoes and pulled off his pants.
Harper simply stared at his magnificent body and alabaster skin. Her gaze dropped to his equally impressive erection. She licked her lips.
“I want to make love on a bed with the lights on,” he said, removing her uniform jacket. “Like normal people.”
Vampires weren’t normal. Her expression must have displayed her reaction.
“Long ago my kind was accepted by society.” He removed her boots. “We couldn’t tolerate the sun, but we lived with humans. We respected our differences and worked together. The country, this city was an amazing place.”
She pulled off her black top while Egan stripped off her pants.
A grin split his face, softening his features. His eyes gleamed. “No underpants?”
“Why waste time?”
He picked her up and carried her to his bed. Nudging her thighs apart with his knee, he asked, “Miss me?”
She had, but her answer was smothered by his kiss. He cupped her breast, played with her nipple while sliding his big cock inside her. She wrapped her legs around his hips and her arms around his neck, and held on for the ride.
His thrusts came fast and deep, taking her to ecstasy. She gasped, climaxed and begged for more. Still hard as stone, he took her to the precipice, held her there for several exquisite seconds before thrusting again and again until another shattering climax claimed her.
Harper opened her eyes. His face hovered above hers, his eyes sparkling facets of silver.
“I love fucking you,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
“
I love fucking you.” Harper grinned. “I never thought I would feel this way about a vampire.”
“Tell me how you feel.”
“Elated. Warm and fuzzy.”
“I wish you could stay.”
“Help me get out of here. I can’t afford to lose my job.”
He climbed off of her and helped her to her feet. This was the first time Harper had seen his cock flaccid. The vampire was hung.
Egan helped her dress, then slipped into his clothes. “Are you okay?”
Harper giggled. “I feel like I’m coming down from a major high.”
“I didn’t take any blood.” He hadn’t wanted to force the bond. Egan wanted Harper to come to him because she wanted him, not because he’d mesmerized her by sucking her blood during climax. “You’re sex drunk.”
“There’s no such thing.”
“Then perhaps you’re in love?”
Her gaze narrowed. “I need a drink of water.”
He took her hand and walked her into the living room. He stepped behind the wet bar and poured a glass of water from the tap.
She drank the entire glass. “I need to pee.”
He pointed to the hallway. “First door on your left.”
She returned to the living room a few minutes later. “This place is amazing. I’ve never seen such a big shower.”
“Big enough for two. Maybe we’ll share it one day. Your next day off?”
“I’m on duty two more nights then I have four days off.”
He put his arm around her shoulder and they left the penthouse. He walked her back to her vehicle. “Four days. We could spend it here.”
“Sounds like fun.” She kissed him goodbye and slid behind the wheel. “Will you be here tomorrow night?”
“I’ll be waiting.”
Egan opened the gate and watched her drive away. He’d taken a big chance bringing her here, exposing his lair outside the Cemetery.
Loving Harper was a risk, but over the last three centuries Egan had learned a higher risk brought a better reward.
