He reaches down between us, his fingers finding my clit, and my body tightens in response to his firm touch. He watches me, his gaze focused on mine as my orgasm hits. My body grips him tightly, my movements erratic before he takes over, keeping up the pace for his race to the finish. It only takes a few strokes with me clenching around him for him to find his release too. He bucks up into me a few times, then stills, his cock pulsing inside me. A groan slips from his lips as he continues to grind into me, and it’s the sexiest fucking thing I’ve ever heard. Griping me to him, he holds me tight with his face pressed to my rapidly beating heart, his cock still hard and twitching inside me. He looks up at me, sliding his fingers across my face to move the hair stuck to my sweaty skin. He has the most beautiful combination of love and lust in his eyes, and I reach up to stroke his cheek. My touch affects him, his head turning into my palm and his eyes closing on a contented sigh.
This amazing man.
My amazing man.
“I love you Sloan. So, so much.”
“I love you too, Lizzy. Get used to hearing it, baby. I’m not going to let you forget it.”
And he doesn’t…
Epilogue
Sloan
Three months later…
“That’s the last one.” Carson puts the final box of Lizzy’s things in the living room next to the stack we’ve been building on for the last few hours.
She walks over to her brother and grabs him in a hug, tears in her eyes.
“Are you sure you’re okay with this?” She’s been worried about moving out on Carson for weeks now, since the day she first said yes to moving in with me. He’s done nothing but encourage her to do it, but she’s still having a hard time letting go.
“You know I am. Besides, I already told Holden he could have your room.” He teases his sister and she cracks a smile, wiping a few stray tears from her eyes.
“Ha, ha.” She playfully punches him on the arm. “When does he get into town?”
“How do you know Holden again?” Second baseman Holden Shaw signed with the Thrillers after clearing waivers last week, and I found out Carson and Lizzy know him well.
Lizzy is the one to answer my question. “We grew up together. They lived down the street from us. Holden and Carson were best friends, but he and his sister had to move in with their grandparents after their own parents were killed in a home invasion.”
“Fuck, I can’t imagine having to deal with something so horrible.” I remember reading about it when I was going over files for the newest member of the Thrillers. Their parents were home in bed when one of the wife’s coworkers broke in and killed them in their sleep. Holden and his sister weren’t home when it happened, and they went to live with their grandparents shortly after. I can’t imagine what it would be like to lose my parents. Losing someone you love is scary shit for anyone to go through, especially a child. Sure, my whole family might annoy the hell out of me sometimes, but I’d be lost without them.
“It was rough on them, but they’ve coped well. Holden and I have always stayed in touch. He called me as soon as the ink dried on his contract. And the timing was perfect. Since Lizzy was moving in here, he’s taking over her room. He’ll be here next week.” Carson inches closer to the door. “Okay, I think I’m going to head home. Give you two love birds some privacy.”
Lizzy stops him before he can make it there. “Are you sure you don’t want to stay for dinner?”
“Nah, I’ve got things to do, but thanks for the invite.” Carson hugs his sister again, kissing her on the top of the head. He whispers in her ear, and she smiles. I love watching the two of them together. I know what it’s like to be close to your sibling. It’s a bond unlike any other and I’m glad she has that with him.
She gives him another hug and heads off into the kitchen under the guise of working on dinner. But I know her well enough to know she’s trying not to cry in front of her brother. It’s not like they won’t see each other again. She still works for him, but this will be the first time she’s lived away from him in a long time. It’ll take time, but she’ll be okay in a few days.
I walk Carson to the door, and we shake hands.
“Hey man, thanks for all your help.”
“She’s my sister. I’d do anything for her.” I know Carson’s telling the truth.
I open the door for him and as he’s about to walk out, he turns and looks me straight in the eyes. “Take care of her for me.”
I smile, remembering me saying those exact same words to him all those weeks ago when I thought I’d never get my chance with her.
Now I have her.
And I’m never fucking letting go.
My response is easy to give, and I mean it with all my heart.
“Always.”
