In this final installment of “Queen of the City,” we follow Lyric as she tries to escape her past mistakes but ends up falling face first into a new set of dilemmas. As she moves to Rockwall to avoid Nas, her crazy and ruthless baby daddy who doubles as a drug lord, she runs into Quandra, an old friend. She was the one who set Lyric up to be robbed and raped in Chicago but this time, she promises that she is no longer on that same garbage and she presents her a new way to make some quick money.
Lyric, bored with her new life in Rockwall, takes the offer Quandra presented to join her and a few other females as they finesse other men in the city and rob them blind when they least expect it. Everything was going good until they run into an ambush that forces the small group to break up and put a halt to their operations. The group’s leader, Malley, grows fond of Lyric, and they find that they have much more in common than just wanting to be Queens of their respective cities. Malley used to mess with Nas before he moved to Milwaukee and she also has some unfinished business with him.
Together, they plot their revenge against Nas but how it ends is truly mind blowing, and it leaves Lyric questioning everything. Join Lyric in the conclusion of this intense, hood-based novel, “Queen of The City.”
