“When?” she half groaned. “I didn’t hear you.”

“It wasn’t anything verbal, but the commitment was just as binding the second you announced your plan to find a spot in the château to sleep.”

Dana hid her face in his chest. “You must have thought I was out of my mind.”

He tangled his fingers in her hair. “To be honest I thought heaven had dropped a present at my door by mistake, but I wasn’t about to give it back and had to think fast.”

She gazed up at him, her blue eyes glowing with desire. “So you do believe in it?”

“Since a golden haired woman with a cherub mouth came climbing up my apple tree and peeked at me through the leaves. It was a new sight for this mortal.” His dark head lowered. “You are a heavenly sight, mon amour,” he whispered before his mouth closed over hers, giving her a taste of their glorious future.
