“No matter how much I yell stop, keep going. You feel so good inside of me. Please, don’t stop,” she begged. A grin appeared on her face before she crashed her lips into mine. Doing as I was told, I kept fucking her. She was whispering for me to go deeper and harder. Shit got rough. I was hitting it so hard that she was screaming to the top of her lungs. She scratched up my arms, back and neck. We were both biting and clawing at each other like animals.

“Twan…Twan,” she whispered, easing up every time I would go deeper. I knew I had to be hitting her G-spot the way her legs started to shake. I had been wanted to bust my nut, but I was a gentleman. Ladies first.

“What, princess? You ready to cum for me?” I quizzed, pounding her juicy pussy into next year. “You better let that shit go now because a nigga ready to nut.” I squinted my eyes trying to think of anything else but cumming.

“Shit. Peas, chitlins, canned collard greens, unseasoned chicken-”

  “Twan, what…what are you doing?”

“Girl I’m trying not to bust this nut. It’s called being a gentleman. If I think of all the shit I don’t like, I won’t be so focused on nutting,” I answered, still thrusting my hips back and forth.

  “Choke me,” she said.

She didn’t have to tell me twice. I was into that rough shit. I wrapped my hands around her throat and sped up my strokes. In a matter of minutes, she was shaking like a naked stripper and cumming all over my dick.

“Oh, thank God! I’m bout to nut,” I announced, pulling out of her and releasing the strongest nut I had ever shot. Slowly, I placed Zara’s legs down and held her up by her waist. She wrapped her arms around my neck laid her head on my shoulders. For a minute we just stood there, naked and sweaty.

“Twan I need to confess something to you,” she whispered.

“Yea, I know. I was the best you ever had. I done heard the shit before,” I cockily grinned.

“You’re the only one I ever had. I was a virgin,” she confessed.

I snatched my body from her and sized her up and down. I tried to see if she was lying, but I didn’t find the lie in her face. “Zara, what the fuck?” I cursed.

“I know and I’m sorry. I didn’t tell you because I knew you wouldn’t want to have sex with me, but I wanted you so bad.”

“So just because you out here horny, you fuck me? Why you ain’t fuck grandpa to ease your needs?” I questioned.

“Because he wants a virgin. He wants to wait until we are married to have me. That’s why you can’t speak of this to anyone. If my father or him find out I’m not a virgin anymore, it won’t end well. After King Mensu finds out I’m not a virgin, he won’t want to marry me. The alliance and arrangement will be broken, and my father will most likely banish me. He will send me away and say I bring shame on my family for being whore. He can’t find out. Please,” she cried.

Before I could even reply to her young and dumb ass, the door came crashing in. Four guards burst in the room with King Zuse behind them. He did not look pleased at all. He surveyed the scene and his nose flared.

“Zara if you have bed this man, I will strike you down where you stand,” he spoke calmly, yet he looked like he was ready to pull out the cane like Mr. Biggs and beat her with it.

“Daddy, I’m sorry. I was just-”

  SLAP!

His hand went across her face. “You dirty whore!” he yelled.

“Aye, King Zuse chill out. She’s your daughter and it take two people to fuck anyway,” I tried to reason with him.

“I could give no cares about you guard. You are not the future of this country or this family. She is.” He turned his attention back to Zara who was now on the floor crying. “Do you know what kind of shame you are about to bring over this family? King Mensu will not marry you now. The alliance will be broken.” He shook his head and began pacing the floor.

“I don’t know what has gotten into my children. One has married a forbidden peasant and is on the run from being exiled. The other is in love with his mistress who is pregnant with all of his heirs. Now my only daughter has ruined her chances in becoming Queen of Tajiri, which is the second richest country in Africa!” he barked.

  “Daddy, I’m sorry,” she cried.

“Shut up!” he slapped her once again.

“She’s lying!” I blurted. I acted off impulse to stop her from hitting her. The scene was far too familiar. I used to watch my mother get beat on by my pops back in the day. Shit tore me up inside when I couldn’t do anything to help her. She had gotten hooked on drugs and ended up overdosing. He sold those drugs, so I blamed him. People thought that he was gunned down on a drug deal gone bad. When really, I followed him that night and shot him in between his eyes. If he was going to pay for what he did to my momma, it was going to be done by my hands.

“What do you mean my daughter is lying? You’re meaning to tell me that the moaning my guards heard was made up? Were they hearing things?” he quizzed.

I glanced at Zara who had so much fear in her eyes that she scared me. I felt so bad and I couldn’t help but see her as my helpless momma. I had to do something. “She didn’t want to have sex with me. I forced her to,” I lied.

“You what!” He stepped towards me, but I didn’t back down.

  “I raped her.”

  “Twan no!” Zara yelled.

“Shut the fuck up, Zara. Let me come clean. Please,” I begged her to let me help her out of this. I had already lost Leah and I was on the verge of losing Bella too. I knew she wouldn’t survive. I didn’t want to lose Zara too.

I turned my attention back to King Zuse who looked like he was ready to kill me.

“Zara, princess did this man rape you?” he asked her. She glanced at me and I nodded for her to say yes. “You don’t have to be afraid to speak, my daughter. You can tell the truth,” he spoke again. Once again, she glanced up at me and with my eyes, I begged her to just lie. She stayed silent.

“King Zuse, I can believe it,” a guard spoke up. “When I heard the moans, I did hear princess Zara scream for him to stop. She was begging him to. Just look at her and him. She has bite marks, a bruised lip and a choke ring around her neck. Twan has scratches all over him. It’s evident what happen here, your grace. He raped her.”

King Zuse glared at me. Drawing his sword, he swung it across my face.

  “Noooo!” Zara screamed.

I stumbled back but I held my ground. I could feel the blood leaking from my face. “Throw him in the dungeon. He can bleed out to death, I don’t care. He’s going to die anyway.” That was the last thing I heard before I was hit in the back of the head. The next morning, I woke up in the dungeon.

I looked up and Leah was in tears. “Damn, Leah stop crying. I’m gone be good. It’s just death. I ain’t gone feel shit no way.” I tried to lighten the mood with a joke, but she didn’t find it funny.

“Twan, this is serious. I can’t sit back and watch you die. Especially for no reason. There has to be something I can do or-”

“Twan?” a familiar voice said from behind the bars.

I glanced up and saw that it was Zara. “Princess Zara.” I stood up and walked towards her.

  “Can we talk?” she asked.

  Princess Zara Swali

Trying to remain strong and not break down after seeing Twan locked up like some animal was difficult. It should have been easy because as a royal, it was learned behavior to not show emotion. Our face remained calm and still at all times unless we had to fake as if we were enjoying life when we weren’t. The difference now was that my heart was involved. Twan had become a man that I was fond of and our connection was one that I wasn’t willing to give up so easily.

“Can you talk? No, you can’t. You’re the reason he’s in here in the first place,” a girl said. I assumed she was Leah from the way Twan described her to me.

“Leah, chill your pregnant gangsta ass down. It’s cool.” Twan laughed at her behavior. I didn’t find her outburst amusing but the last thing I needed was to g
et into it with his beloved Leah. I stayed quiet.

“Fine. I’m about to go upstairs and get some rest.” She yawned.

“You not gone run and tell Amir the good news?”

“Good news? On top of Amir not wanting kids, he just found out he’s the father to his brother’s soon to be ex Queen’s child. Telling him I’m pregnant with two more of the kids he doesn’t want is only going to make things worse. I just want some rest. I’m tired,” she explained.

I was shocked from the information I was just now learning about. I had so many questions, but I planned on asking them to my brothers.

“Cool. Go get some rest then. And stop worrying about me. I can see it all in your face. It’s my job to worry about you and Bella. Not the other way around. I’m gone be good.” He grabbed the back of her head and kissed her forehead. The intimacy between them almost caused jealousy to consume me. I knew how he felt about Leah and seeing him actually care for her in person, struck a nerve in me. I was never the envious type. I was too busy being the one that was envied.

The emotions I was feeling only confirmed how much I cared about Twan. It broke my heart when I had to agree to him raping me. Especially since I knew the type of man he was. He would never do that to a woman. He didn’t need to. Him lying and saying he raped me just to secure my reputation and status made this all the more hurtful. He was too good of a man for me.

After he and Leah embraced, she walked away and went up the stairs.

  “You shouldn’t be here.”

“That seem to be the issue. I haven’t been here. Ever since you were brought here, I haven’t come to see you. I admit that the reason was selfishness. I didn’t want to see you caged up like this,” I expressed.

“I was born a black man. I’m used to being caged up. I understand though. I don’t want you to see me like this either. I want you to remember me the way you saw me in bed. In between your legs, begging me to stop but not really wanting me to. Remember that.”

I bit my lip, attempting to control my naughty tongue. “I think I can get you out of here,” I spoke.

“Zara, I done admitted to raping a princess. A nigga is as good as dead,” he laughed.

“Twan this is not a laughing matter. You could die!” I spat.

“Do you think I can be serious at a time like this? A nigga got to laugh to keep from crying like a little bitch. My whole life has revolved around keeping the women I love safe. If I die, I’m gone die knowing that all three of my loved ones are good.”

A single tear pierced my cheek. “You love me?” I asked just above a whisper.

“Do I love you?” he asked with a slight grin. “Woman I’m in a dirty ass slave like dungeon for lying about raping you just to make sure you were good. If you got to ask that then your elevator don’t reach the top floor, if you know what I mean.”

“Elevator doesn’t reach the top floor,” I repeated confused. “What does that mean?”

“It means you dumb as shit.”

Not wanting to, I burst out into a fit of laughter. That laughter soon turned into tears.

“Zara come on with the tears and shit. I’m too thirsty for this and I’m tempted to lick your face,” he joked. I knew it was to make me laugh but I couldn’t stop feeling guilty.

“This is all my fault. I just had to have you.”

“I mean, I tend to have that effect on women. Once you go Twan, you gone want to be mine. That’s like my little slogan. Shit sweet ain’t it?”

Again, I found myself laughing when I didn’t want to. “Stop it.”

“Stop what? Trying to get you to smile and get your mind off this shit? I can’t. If I see you falling apart because of this, I won’t make it. You gone have to be strong for me or I’m gone lose my damn mined.” The back of his hand caressed my face ever so gently. I grabbed his hand and held it in mine.

“If this is what love feels like, I don’t want to marry that old man. I want to be with you. I can’t and will not let you go. I have to do something to get you out of here. Now that my father is locked away too, maybe I can get your beheading dismissed by the council,” I suggested.

“I done been here for three years, Zara. I know how this shit works. Regardless if I claim to not have done it, I still lied to King Zuse about it. That in itself is a crime. Then the evident crime is us fucking period.”

“Yes, but that could be overlooked.”

“Or not, look Zara just drop the shit. I ain’t getting out of here. It’s pointless,” he snapped.

Reading his face, I thought to myself. “Do you not want to get out of here? Are you trying to die?” I asked. He said nothing to me. He only stared at the wall. His silence gave me my answer. “Twan.”

“Don’t fucking Twan me. You not gone get it. You haven’t lived my life,” he snapped.

“Then explain it to me. Please!” I begged.

Twan backed away from the bars and took a seat on the bench. His head fell into his hands. “Where I’m from, black men my age barely make it out the hood. If we ain’t getting killed by each other, we getting killed by racist white cops who fear our skin and envy our royal inheritance. After that shit went down with my old man, I didn’t think I was gone make it. Losing the only woman in my life broke me as a man. Killing a man changed me. I didn’t think shit would ever be the same,” he expressed.

“Then you met, Leah and Bella?”

He smiled. “On the outside looking in, we’re just friends. No one will ever understand our bond. They helped me become whole again. They helped me find myself after losing it to two tragedies.” He shook his head and continued.

“Both reminded me of my momma in different ways. Leah had her dark skin and beautiful features. Bella had her strong and fun personality. They’re my family. I almost died protecting both of them.”

“I remember, Leah was outside getting bullied by some older girls that were in the house with us. Bella was gone, so she could only call for my help. It was the first time I ever put my hands on a girl. I don’t regret that shit either. She looked like a grown ass man anyway and till this day, I still think she was,” he laughed. Suddenly that smile turned into a frown.

“Then there were times I couldn’t save them. Bella was sent to a foster home and the father tried to rape her. She got to her phone and called me. We weren’t supposed to have phones, but I had stolen three of them from the mall in case of emergencies. My heart fell into my ass when she told me what he was trying to do. I stole the group home owner’s car and drove to save her. The cops were called, and it became a chase. I told myself that I wouldn’t stop until I saved her.”

I heard him sniff and I knew right then and there that he was crying.

“When I got there, I got out the car and busted down the door to get to her. The cops were pulling up right behind me. Till this day, her screams haunt me. I followed her cries. When I got to the room, it was too late. I was too late,” he finished.

  “Twan-”

“No man will ever know what it feels like to not be able to save the girl you love. She went through so much trauma after that night. I blamed myself. From then on, I made it my mission to live to protect them. They are my family. Without them, I’m alone. Bella has Adonis now. Leah is married to, Amir. They’re starting families and shit. Your bothers are their protectors now. I’m nothing if I can’t protect them. I have no reason to live if I don’t have them.”

It was like I could feel his hurt as I allowed tears to escape from my face and fall down my cheeks. Here was a man that believed that his only mission in life was to protect two girls that he loved dearly. While away, I studied a lot in human behavior and emotions. I could read Twan so well.

“You see them as your mother. Every woman that comes into your life, you see her as your mother. The helpless woman who couldn’t fight back. A woman who couldn’t deal with the pain and used drugs to cope. A woman who died because she was broken. So, because you couldn’t save your mother, you feel as if it’s your duty
to save them. When you saw me being hit by my father, did you see me as your mother?”

He glanced up with an expression that showed he wondered how I knew that.

“I know I came off as a stuck-up snob of a princess, and I still am, but there is more to me. I just never get to show it because I’m too busy being a princess and not a regular eighteen-year-old girl,” I sighed, clearing my throat.

“Maybe you were meant to protect them. You were meant to protect them and repair their broken hearts until someone else came along to lift that burden. Because that’s what it has become now. A burden. Maybe it’s time for Twan to protect Twan. If you’re too busy protecting them, who’s protecting you?” I rhetorically asked.

He remained silent, which was fine with me because I didn’t need him to say anything.

“Let me protect you. Please.” I extended my arm in between the bars to touch his hand. It took him a minute, but eventually he got up and grabbed it. “I know you love Bella and Leah and I would never want to come in between that. I just think it’s time for someone to love you,” I spoke, caressing his rough and rugged skin.

All he did was nod his head.

I said my goodbye to him and went back upstairs to the palace. I went straight into my brother’s study. When I entered, I noticed that almost every soldier was in attendance. I could tell he was planning something big.

“I don’t know what it is about women barging in shit without knocking,” Adonis spat.

“I need to talk to you brother.”

“Z, I’m busy and I don’t got time for this shit with you and whatever selfish act you want me to help you with,” he snared.

“Adonis this is serious. It’s about Twan.”

His face turned into stone. I could see his entire demeanor change. “That name is dead to me and this royal family. Fuck him!” he snapped.

“Adonis, he didn’t rape me,” I blurted.

The room fell silent. Everyone in the room all stared at me with wide mouths. Me getting raped had been the talk of the palace since it happened. Everyone was on edge about it. Even other kings from other countries were outraged about what they thought happened to me. I had received many condolences and threats to Twan, so I’m sure hearing me say it didn’t happen was alarming.
