The Russos: Episode Eight Page 7

by D. J. Manly

When he was inside his car, he risked one more look up at that bedroom window. There were tears threatening now but he couldn’t allow himself to cry here in front of the house. His aunt was watching him from the front porch. He waved at her, smiling through his misery. She waved back. His throat hurt. He swallowed, holding back the tears as he started the engine.

He careened around the corner, tears flowing freely now, blinding him so that he couldn’t see anything. His chest started to heave. Oh God, oh God, he cried out, pounding his fist on the dashboard.

Headlights came at him suddenly. He gasped and then turned the wheel abruptly to the left so that the car moved over to the curb with a jerk. He slammed on the brakes.

The driver on the other side of the road slowed down and then leaned on his horn angrily. Thankfully, he didn’t stop the car and get out. He kept going.

Tony tried to get his breath, watching the vehicle disappear around the corner. When he was finally out of sight, he lowered his face on the steering wheel and cried.

DJ. Manly is fast acquiring a reputation for pushing the boundaries of male/male erotic romance. A reviewer once said of Manly’s work that it was enough to give the reader “…third-degree burns in an air conditioned room…” and that’s putting it mildly. If you adore gorgeous men who can’t get enough of each other’s bodies…if you like rich plots laced with steamy sex, thick and rich with aching need and glorious adoration and love…Manly’s books will satisfy the craving and leave you panting for more.

“If I wouldn’t enjoy reading it, I wouldn’t be writing it,” says Manly. “I like to tease...but I always please...”
